loop. However, supply chain management can be a very difficult task because in the reality, the supply chain is a complex and dynamic network of facilities and organizations with different, conflicting objectives. Supply chains exist in both service and manufacturing organizations, although the complexity of the chain may vary greatly from industry to industry and firm to firm. Unlike commercial manufacturing supplies, services such as clinical supplies planning are very dynamic and can often have last minute changes. Availability of patient kit when patient arrives at investigator site is very important for clinical trial success. This results in overproduction of drug products to take care of last minute change in demand. R&D manufacturing is very expensive and overproduction of patient kits adds significant cost to the total cost of clinical trials. An integrated supply chain can reduce the

Why Muslims Are Rising Fastest and the Unaffiliated Are Shrinking as a Share of the World’s Population The religious profile of the world is rapidly changing, driven primarily by differences in fertility rates and the size of youth populations among the world’s major religions, as well as by people switching faiths. Over the next four decades, Christians will remain the largest religious group, but Islam will grow faster than any other major religion. If current trends continue, by 2050 …  The number of Muslims will nearly equal the number of Christians around the world.  Atheists, agnostics and other people who do not affiliate with any religion – though increasing in countries such as the United States and France – will make up a declining share of the world’s total population.  The global Buddhist population will be about the same size it was in 2010, while the Hindu and Jewish populations

What is integrated care?

This emphasis reflects the long-standing concern in the NHS with how to address the division of care across primary and secondary care in particular. ·Integrated care is an organising principle for care delivery that aims to improve patient care and experience through improved coordination. Integration is the combined set of methods, processes and models that seek to bring this about. ·Achieving integrated care requires that those involved with planning, financing and providing services have a shared vision, employ a combination of processes and mechanisms, and ensure that the patient's perspective remains a central organising principle throughout. ·There is an urgent need for more robust and high-quality evidence to inform decisions about how to develop integrated care. There is no single model of integrated care that is suited to all contexts, settings and circumstances

Until I do more teaching children, I can't say I've developed any insights or made any guidelines, except I know all students respond to enthusiasm and like to become fascinated. Educational systems of European and American types Being exposed to educational systems of both European and American types, I would point out the following positive trends in higher education of the USA in comparison to European style: 1. Link between the needs of real life and higher education which manifests itself in existence of Career Service, Job Fairs, study plus work possibilities ( Co-op system). Good students get well-paid jobs after graduating; 2. Support system . Psychological and academical ( Student Service Center). Fraternity and Sorority Organizations. English as a Global Language

And in some countries, increased resources are being devoted to maintaining the role of other languages (such as the use of French in several countries of Africa). Notwithstanding the general world trend, there are many linguistic confrontations still to be resolved. Governments who wish to play their part in influencing the world’s linguistic future should therefore ponder carefully, as they make political decisions and allocate resources for language planning. Now, more than at any time in linguistic history, they need to adopt long-term views, and to plan ahead – whether their interests are to promote English or to develop the use of other languages in their community (or, of course, both). If they miss this linguistic boat, there may be no other. [1, p. 26- 28 ] 1.5 The Role of English Today Today English is becoming the first world's universal language. It is the mother tongue of 500 million of people in 12 countries of the world

p. 54). Like the ‘hippie counterculture’ of the 1960s-70s in general, the arguably derogatory drifter label connotes a social deviancy undertaken by ‘dropouts’ from affluent societies (O’Reilly, 2006). Although Vogt’s (1976) ‘wanderer’ and Riley’s (1988) ‘international long- term budget travellers’ represent similar attempts to cast a terminological net around this type of tourist, it is the drifter concept that inspires ‘one of the prevalent trends of contemporary tourism’ (Cohen, 1973, p. 90), backpacker tourism. The succinct and less pejorative epithet ‘backpacker’ gained momentum from the late 1990s (O’Reilly, 2006) as a descriptor for predominantly young, budget tourists on extended holiday (Loker-Murphy & Pearce, 1995). More recently, Maoz and Bekerman (2010, p. 426) describe backpackers as ‘relatively young tourists who tend to gather in ghettos or enclaves:

SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING GUIDELINES

whose mission is to develop and disseminate globally applicable Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. These Guidelines are for voluntary use by organisations for reporting on the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of their activities, products, and services. The aim of the Guidelines is to assist reporting organisations and their stakeholders in articulating and understanding contributions of the reporting organisations to sustainable development. Trends The key trends during the last two years are: Expanding globalization – Expansion of global capital markets and information technology continue to bring unprecedented opportunities for the creation of new wealth. Search for new forms of global governance – Globalisation challenges the capacity of existing international institutions to govern corporate activity. Reform of corporate governance – Pressures on corporations to establish and maintain high standards of internal governance are accelerating.

more constrained in their travel than men (Jackson & Henderson, 1995). On the contrary, in the USA it is estimated that 32 million single American women have travelled at least once in 2012 (The Gutsy Traveler, 2013). Moreover, America sees a growing trend in adventure travel: the average adventure traveller is not a 28-year old male anymore, but a 47-year-old female (The Gutsy Traveler, 2013). When relying on these examples, then female adventure tourism is clearly influenced by cultural trends. As a result, the western society is afraid to travel to Middle East, and female in Middle East cannot travel abroad, creating a cultural wall between the two worlds. Despite being a growing trend, both female/adventure travellers have some problems. Many female travellers love the thrill of going to exotic places and discover new environments. The number of female solo business travellers has quite recently gone up from 23% to 30% in 2013,

This kind of feedback includes determiner and preposition errors, and collocation errors (e.g., "strong computer" instead of "powerful computer").Criterion offers a pre-writing (planning) utility. This emphasis on planning was a logical outgrowth of the process-writing approach that Criterion embodies. Both earlier literature (Elbow, 1973) and more recent research have suggested that making plans can help students produce better quality writing, just as revising drafts can. In light of this research, it is advisable to incorporate formal planning activities into writing instruction applications. Better educated men and women, freed from the bonds of social subservience, would see more clearly the society in which they wished to live and guide more firmly the conduct of democratic policy by which alone their hopes can slowly be established in the practice of the nation. Economic planning and social equality are the ideas upon whose slow growth the purification of our social order chiefly ends. Before we can gather harvests or walk through open doors, we mus fight, endure and win this war. Victory is essential to social progress for two reasons. In the first place a continuity of our national freedom is a necessary condition for the healthy development of our society. Secondly we must preserve our democratic form of goverment if our community is to secure a

Planning comprises selecting organization goals, predicting results under various alternative ways of achieving those goals, deciding how to attain them. Most important planning tool is budget, quantitative expression of a proposed plan of action by management and is an aid to coordinating what needs to be done to implement that plan. Sir Ken Robinson claims in the clip that " creativity in education is as important as literacy, we should treat it with the same status." I totally agree with all what he said. We have very strict education systems that don't allow a room for mistakes and they categorize people based on their achievements in exams. There is nothing like potentials, creativeness, possibilities or even 2nd chances. Families put high expectations on academic achievements and they always compare their kids with other's kids. A minority in each community will be really dedicated to help their kids explore their horizons. It is true that we should re-think the fundamental principles in which we educate our children. Our task is to educate the children so that they can face this future. II 10 effective classroom management techniques. 1. Set and agree the house rules and class regulations with the class. 2

The Rise and Demise of the New Public Management, 28 10

been rightly said, Public sector reform is in fashion and no self-respecting government can afford to ignore it. How a fashion is established is one of the most intriguing questions of public policy. Part of the answer lies in policy diffusion brought about by the activities of international officials (whose zeal for administrative reform mysteriously stops short at the door of their own organizations), by meetings of public administrators, academics, and the so-called policy entrepreneurs. (Wright 1997: 8) Indeed, the international vocabulary of management reforms carries a definite normative `charge'. Within the relevant community of discourse ... the assumption has grown that particular things performance management, TQM ... and so on are progress. To be progressive one has to be seen to be doing things to which these particular labels can be stuck. ... Suggesting,

It laid the foundation for the potential change of attitude and perception of children as primarily objects of the adult world. The recognition of children by the UNCRC as respected individuals with rights of their own has given impetus to a significant field of academic study. Since then, there has been increasing sociological interest in children which has provided a new perspective around the idea of children as social actors, and that childhood is not a natural phenomenon but a social 4 construct. It is now recognised that childhood is a culturally constructed phenomenon arising from human interaction.5 However, the new knowledge of children as competent

A New Earth

You do not become good by trying to be good, but by finding the goodness that is already within you, and allowing that goodness to emerge. But it can only emerge if something fundamental changes in your state of consciousness. The history of Communism, originally inspired by noble ideals, clearly illustrates what happens when people attempt to change external reality – create a new earth – without any prior change in their inner reality, their state of consciousness. They make plans without taking into account the blueprint for dysfunction that every human being carries within: the ego. THE ARISING NEW CONSCIOUSNESS Most ancient religions and spiritual traditions share the common insight – that our “normal” state of mind is marred by a fundamental defect. However, out of this insight into the nature of the human condition – we may call it the bad news – arises a second insight: the good news of the

markedly from cluster to cluster and also within countries specialised around different industrial clusters (e.g. forestry, chemicals). Innovation systems can also be analysed at different levels: subregional, national, pan-regional and international. While the national level may be the most relevant due to the role of country specific interactions in creating a climate for innovation, international technology flows and collaborations are taking on growing significance. Future research will focus on improving the indicators used to map interactions in national innovation systems as well as the linkages to the innovative performance of firms and countries. These indicators are at an early stage of development and do not approach the robustness of more conventional measures such as R&D expenditures. A main goal is to improve the comparability of studies across countries by encouraging those engaging in analysis of innovation systems to focus first on measuring a core set of knowledge

Millions of new homes will need to be built in the next decade or so. The problem is not just that Britain is a densely populated country. Housing takes up an awful lot of space and eats up too much countryside. A "green points" system has been drawn up, whereby developers can obtain planning permission only if they achieve a certain score. In this century, almost half of the new homes built have been flats. The question is whether enough people in Britain will accept this more communal, less private, lifestyle. Thank you for listening

Estuary English - A Controversial Issue?

the construct consists of some (but not all) phonetic features of working-class London speech spreading at various rates socially into middle-class speech and geographically into other accents of south-eastern England.[3][4] Rosewarne (1984) states that "the heartland of this variety lies by the banks of the Thames and its estuary". However, in the name itself the Thames is not mentioned. This seems to have irritated some of the academics, who willingly displayed their reluctance to the term. In his posting to the Linguist List, for instance, Battarbee (1996) talks of "... regional arrogance of the SouthEast within the UK: it takes for granted that 'Estuary' means the Thames Estuary. There are many estuaries in Great Britain, and several of the emerging regional mega-accents are estuarially based". Other linguists have criticised the term because it suggests that the variety is restricted to the area of the Thames estuary
