The first obstacle appears to be the game show, but we are quickly shown that it is the conflict with the host Prem that Jamal must win to be united with Latika. The conflict between Prem and Jamal helped me understand the main idea of "Love conquers all". It helped me understand this by the use of flashbacks during the show. When Jamal was asked a question on the show, there was a flashback showing how Jamal knew the answer to the question he was asked. This gave the audience an insight of Jamal's past, living in the slums of India and all the obstacles he had to overcome. An example of an obstacle Jamal had to overcome was the murdering of his mother by the Hindu's. An obstacle Jamal had to overcome for his love of Latika was when he was forced to leave Latika because of his brother Salim. Jamal didn't go on the show for the
My languages I love different languages. I mean, I really, really love different languages. I also believe and have been told that I pick them up rather easily. That might be true, although I did not pick any Greek up in Greece but that might have been because they spoke so damn fast that I could not tell if it was a word or an entire sentence. The first foreign language I learned was Russian. Considering I was ten when Estonia became a Republic, it makes sense. We began studying Russian in first grade, though it was simplified – "koška" instead of "kot", "medvešonok" instead of "medved", "saichik" etc. Did not make much sense and we mostly played some games in Russian (Tare-tareke etc). Learned as much playing outside, since we had Estonian-Russian kids around as well. Not that we played with them. It's sad

They were just getting to know the town's strange members and their characters when an anonymous letter arrived, accusing the two of not being brother and sister, but lovers. The letter started a series of poison pen letters all over the village, which destroyed the safety the villagers took for granted.
