What would i change if i were minister of education.

What would i change if i were minister of education. Many people think that our school system is out of date and we should make it more modern. Even teachers and students say that some changes need to be made. Maybe our government should consultate more with poeple who know the real situtation, when they create new laws. If I were minister of education I would deffenetly prefere American educational system to Russian. Our children should do more practical exercises in school and develop creative thinking. In addition to that I would give more money to our schools and raise also teatchers salary. This would boost up their motivation to give quality education to our children. Also i would invite more exchange students into our schools and send our children more often to learn in foreign countrys. The last thing I would change is the amount of the final exams. I would change all school exams into national exams.

If I were the minister of education

If I were the minister of education, I would do changes in education system. We have a lot of problems in education. Firstly, I would change the exam system. I will lose the national tests to make the schools themselves and instead of school examinations. It increases the benefit of the examinations passed. What is very positive. Also, it would make life easier for students. Secondly, we should pay more attention to rural schools. There are a lot of schools which would be needed to renovate. It should be a lot of money to invest. We should not focus only on the city schools. Finally, as far as I know from year to year decrease in the number of high school graduates. And this is a great loss for our education. Because we need more and more people to teach at the University of engineers and IT professionals. In conclusion, educational needs of our increasingly well-educated people. This is our future. High School education should be more valued

Education

Education Education is so multifaceted that it is difficult for me to know where to begin discussing it, or how to prioritize the many factors. Relaying my own experience is easy: I had a standard classroom approach, supplemented by inordinate reading. In only the briefest and least memorable instances did I receive any individual tutoring. Education is commonly thought of as the job of schools. Adults cry "educate our children!" Everyone has opinions about the best way to do the job. It is of urgent importance, and all the numerous factors are much studied, debated, and new (or old) ideas continually tested or retested. Some people say "it's as simple as . . . " and then name their pet peeve or passion. My view is not of an education specialist, but of one who loves sharing what I learn, and owes much to educators. Since I don't have an educational theory neatly worked-out, nor an outline

If I Were a Minister of Education

If I Were a Minister of Education In the last five years we have witnessed several changes in the education system. Although some people find it useful and needed, others find it tragic. What has changed and what would I do to make school a better place? Firstly, there are several things that has been changed in the last few years, such as financing vocational schools. Students of vocational schools get paid for good grades and in some schools even for attending school. Even dorms are paid for students. That is true, we have a chance of getting a little scholarship in high schools, if we graduate with a medal, but it is times and times harder to achieve. In fact government has started to close high schools because they think that there are too many of them. It looks like our country wants only graduates with vocational education, which I find really sad.

photographer for two youth magazines. I have managed to buy myselt contemporary equipment what professional photographers would be very proud. At the moment photography has compensated itself fully. The best thing about it is that I am really good at something and people respect me because of that. I am proud that I had enough determination in the past that I did not give up my hobby. Another well-known statement that I have heard is that small town inhabitants haven’t seen the world. As we know, travelling broadens the mind. I agree that in a small town it is often harder to find the right resources for going abroad. Some years ago I felt this kind of situation very clearly. I really wanted to see the world! The only question was how, because my financial resources were limited. Nevertheless, I think, it is the perfect situation in life. If you are eager to get something you have to think how it is possible to fulfill your dreams. I knew I was interested in writing and photography

THE CAPITALIST NIGER

It is better to blame others than to confront the truth of our being responsible for whatever has happened to us as an African race. I decided to write ‘Capitalist Nigger’ to open a debate on the state of the African race. But in doing so, my intention was not to treat my own contribution to the debate with kid gloves. It is to tell it like it is, the truth and nothing but the truth. My observations are bound to infuriate a lot of my people. Even the title of the title of the book is bound to make a lot of people angry. Many people will be angry, to say it mildly, when I question the intelligence of my people compared to the Asians (Indians, Pakistanis, Malaysians, Filipinos) and others who attained independence at the same time as most African countries. If the book generates the kind of dialogue, debate or argument for or against the position I have taken, so be it

form of public entertainment. In the late 18th century the British army suffered two serious defeats at battles in Seringapatam, in India. The main reason for these defeats was that the Indian prince, Haidar Ali's army included a corps of rocket throwers. They used very large bamboo rockets which had a range of hundreds of metres. The British were determined to learn from their mistakes and a British officer, William Congrieve, began work on developing even bigger and better rockets. Within a few years Congrieve had developed 14 kg iron rockets that could be fired over 3200 m. These rockets were successfully used against Napoleon in the battle of Waterloo and during the US War of Independence. By the 1889s other applications for rockets were being developed. They were used for signalling, for whaling, and even for rescuing people from sinking ships. If a boat got into trouble near to the shore, a

I agree that Estonia's government's steps towards making maths and physics our school- system's top priority is quite right, but I think that there can be a lot more done to improve our educational structure. I find that Estonian schools should pay more attention to teaching our children current state in our political landscape. Kids, who go to school, are our future and soon-to-be full- right voters in national elections. They will become old and independent enough to be a part of deciding process over their country's future. So, it is very important that they would know which political party stands for what beliefs and who are the politicians in Estonia who are leading our country. A basic education is provided free of charge for young people in nearly all developed and democratic countries. However, when it comes to university, or higher education, there are many different approaches taken. In some countries (such as Finland and Sweden) higher education is still free. In other countries, higher education is purchased like any other service. In many countries (such as the UK and the USA), fees are charged to students but how much of the cost of education these cover varies greatly. Often governments offer loans and financial support to help students pay these fees. However, more and more people want to go to university, putting student funding systems under pressure. So should Governments charge fees for higher education, or provide it for free? Government should charge fees because it is well known that the `education' is often only a small part of the university experience

Active Citizenship in Cadle Primary School: A Case Study 20 Conclusion 29 Bibliography 32 Appendices Appendix 1: The United Convention of the Rights of the Child Appendix 2: Interview with Jamie Richards, the Head Teacher of Cadle Primary School 2 Abstract: Children inherently have had a rather tenuous relationship with citizenship. Similarly to how women were once viewed, children have not been considered as subjects of rights due to their perceived incompetence and irrationality. Currently, children are not considered as being rational and capable of exercising responsibility until the age of majority, the age of 18. However, the adoption of the U.N Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in 1989 granted for the first time the recognition for children as worthy individuals with rights of their own

They spend more time at the computers or laptops or iPads etc. than read books or move outside. And another thing is that teachers are less capable in using technological appliances. But the latter mentioned fact is an advantage for us teachers as well. It gives us an opportunity to provide our students to experience success. They can help and assist us if we need some technological help. Another thing is that in schools, in classes generally students are not allowed to use their appliances, so it means they have to communicate verbally as well. I

things that could use a change. I think, that one good change has been made related to the national exams, they have been improved a lot. This has assured an ongoing high level of education in Estonia. Our colleges' curriculums have also certified our college students' competitivity worldwide. I would like to bring out the education getting more and more creative as a positive change. I have noticed the use of active teaching methods and personal approach to the students. If I would be the Minister of Education, I would make the first change in turning the educational system to be more student-centered. I find, that not only those students need personal approach, that are going to study in a college but also those, who are going to continue their studies in a vocational school or are heading to work. I would definately change the exam system, so it would reduce the students' studying load in high school

Educational problems of public school, Report

Report The aim of this report is to compare Estonian and British students opinion on educational system. We wrote down our opinion on the 6th of september 2012 in our english class. We had 12 students who gave an opinion about the Estonian educational system. Corporal punishment is illegal in British and Estonian schools. 62% of British childrens think that it would be needful but only 31% Estonian childrens have the same opinion. Actually it could be not banned, because if they used controlled corporal punishment it is not likely to be harmful. I would argue that there were actually fewer discipline problems back in the old days when corporal punishment was more common. Most school in England require children to wear school uniform. Estonian children no longer

In a re- lated vein, the book might be seen as a way to demonstrate that, properly presented, what often seems like dry science can actually prove to be lively, useful, and relevant to all readers' personal lives. Comment on the Fifth Edition of Influence: Science and Practice It has been some time since Influence was last published. In the interim, some things have happened that deserve a place in this new edition. First, we now know more about the influence process than before. The study of persuasion, compli- ance, and change has advanced, and the pages that follow have been adapted to re- flect that progress. In addition to an overall update of the material, I have devoted special attention to updated coverage of popular culture and new technology, as well as to research on cross-cultural social influence-how the influence process works similarly or differently in various human cultures. university play a role in contributing to a succesful outcome? Kaisa Kamenik In Mike Nichols 1967 cult film „The Graduate“, Dustin Hoffman character Benjamin Braddock, who has just graduated from college, is facing basically same questions as posed in the title of this essay. Everyone is asking what is he going to do with his life now, but he is very uncomfortable aswering them and at that point he doesn’t care as well. Being a third year history student in University of Tartu, I am wondering over the same questions and find myself often thinking what is expected of me after graduating and how has university played a role in my development for almost three years now. When asked what is the main purpose of university, most people would say that it is preparing students for different proffessions, which would later be the driving force of the country. But I think it is more complicated than that

Do you prefer buying Estonian food to imported food? Yes, I do. That because then I know what I'm eating. Sometimes the imported food is not very clean. Imported food consist many preservatives and toxics. It's not very healthy. But sometimes the Estonia food choice is quite small. Sometimes we must buy food what is imported to our country. 5. Freedom of speech

Freedom of speech Freedom of speech is a wide speared conception. I can understand it in many different ways. For example in my state, Estonia, the freedom is a very important for every human. At least to me it is seemed to be like that. But at school is a little bit sad story with freedom of speech. Some teachers are not used that student expresses her own strong opinion. When another way some teachers are just waitening it. As well as people can not speak along with state public topics and express their opinion. Therefore freedom of speech is debateable. Already from the old times Estonians have been fighting for their own freedom, because they do not like to allow to another country or state, foreign public and foreign language. Truancy in school – individual responsibility

Truancy in school individual responsibility Hello ladies and gentlemen, today I am here to talk to you about truancy in school and why is it an individual responsibility. Truancy in school is a very serious problem nowadays. Unfortunately many students have lost their motivation to study. According to the BBC 400,000 children were persistently absent from England's schools in the past year and missed about one month of school each. The effect that poor attendance at school can have on a child's education can be permanent and damaging but skipping should be child's own responsibility and it is not right to punish the parents for it. Students have many reasons why they are skipping school, mostly they do not like the teachers or the subjects that they are taught. They tend think that they won't need those subjects in their future life. Some children are just lazy and irresponsible

States of America's education. Or maybe there is no difference at all, and our systems about school and education are more similar than they appear at first sight. After reading all the materials and all sorts of notes about USA's education systems and their school household. All at once I realized, that they are not so different at all. Like for example USA's kids have to go to school exactly the same amount of time as our Estonian children. And basically learn same amount of same things. Like everywhere there are always differences. Education in the United States is mainly provided by the public sector, with control and funding coming from three levels: federal, state, and local. Child education is compulsory. A sub-type of compulsory education is public education. Public education is universal at the primary and secondary levels (known inside the United States as the elementary and high school levels)

The effect of modern technology on our everyday life

In the older times, writing a letter, sending and bringing to a required person took minimum a month; now this procedure happens within a minute, if people communicate using social networks. Also, social networks gave a chance to people to communicate with old friends, relatives and so on, who are far away from them. Of course, seeing them in real live is better than just seeing their messages or talking in Skype, but programs give feeling, that distance has no matter and loved one is near you. Even if he or she is at the other end of the world. Development of technologies gave new working places. Without computers where would be no such profession like computer science, web designer. Also, being an architect, engineer would be difficult without technology usage. Technologies can be found in education, too. All materials are now available in internet or can be found in university sites. Now there is no need to go to lectures – students can see it online or watch recording

Libraries. We know a lot of things thanks to books, but we do not know exactly when and where they originated, and what should be considered the first book in the world. Ancient document, written on parchment, papyri and vellum can hardly be qualified as books the way we understand the word today. Centuries went before paper replaced parchment and papyri. In the 15 th century Johann Gutenberg invented a mechanical process of duplicating texts, which we today call book printing. The first book was printed between 1444 and 1446, so

Firstly, I would rather spend our money on building schools and purchasing new equipment for teaching, than wasting it on our tough national examinations, because there are a lot of schools that would need a new building. Secondly, English would be taught as a second language at schools. It must be a compulsory subject, because most of the world's population is talking English. I would have all the textbooks revised so that they would be updated with latest happenings and etc. Especially history, because we are learning from textbooks that are missing a lot of information that has been discovered after the book was printed. Also I would change most of the subjects for optional, that students can choose the best subjects for them. I think that the absences wouldn't be so

Why did I choose university education over vocational training?

Why did I choose university education over vocational training? An essay Why more and more people nowadays tend to go to universities rather than to vocational schools? Will going to the university open all the doors in our lives? Is it necessary to have a higher education in order to survive in today’s economy? Those are just some of the questions that may arise when we start talking about the topic. Going to the university was once only for the children from wealthier families. Now as we have a lot of free higher education available, many people tend to use this wonderful opportunity. Although it might seem a great way to start building your way towards future career, it might not be the best way. Why? Because we have reached the stage where we have more people with higher education than we have jobs that require that kind of educational degree. To fix the issue, numerous studies have been

My languages I love different languages. I mean, I really, really love different languages. I also believe and have been told that I pick them up rather easily. That might be true, although I did not pick any Greek up in Greece but that might have been because they spoke so damn fast that I could not tell if it was a word or an entire sentence. The first foreign language I learned was Russian. Considering I was ten when Estonia became a Republic, it makes sense. We began studying Russian in first grade, though it was simplified – "koška" instead of "kot", "medvešonok" instead of "medved", "saichik" etc. Did not make much sense and we mostly played some games in Russian (Tare-tareke etc). Learned as much playing outside, since we had Estonian-Russian kids around as well. Not that we played with them. It's sad to say but it was not a nice time to be a Russian kid
