The word nature is derived from the Latin word natura, or "essential qualities, innate disposition", and in ancient times, literally meant "birth". Elistvere Animal Park

There are wild animals in the park that naturally live in Estonian wild nature . Unlike most zoos there animals live in as natural conditions as possible. In Elistvere I saw elks, lynxes, foxes, wild boars and many more animals that we can come across in nature. Also I saw there animals who don't live in Estonian nature but they can easily live in our climatical conditions, for example European buffalos and reindeers. There is a terrarium house where are smaller and exotical animals but unfortunately it was closed that day. Most of all I like lynxes and brown bear. There are also hiking trails where you can walk and enjoy Estonian nature's beauty or have a picnic. Day in Elistvere Animal Park was very exciting despite of the fact that there were constructional works and trails were very muddy ...

REPORT

REPORT To: local authorities From: a member of the Nature Club Subject: environmental situation at Poku Date: 22 February 2012 As a member on the Nature Club I have decided to write a report describing the environmental situation and make some recommendations based of the opinion poll. The situation at Poku is satisfying. Water and noise pollution is low because there are no cities around here. Wildlife is good and getting better because we have beautiful forests near Poku which gives good living and development places for wild animals. Paper and glass recycling is well organized. We have paper and glass containers and workers are cleaning them daily basis. Due to the fact that overall life in Poku is good we still have some problematic things to consider. Nowadays government has started to cut trees near Poku. This affects development of animals living in these areas because it takes away...

Baroki lühikokkuvõte

sajandi ja 18. sajandi esimesel poolel ei tekkinud ühtset, kogu Euroopat haaravat kunstivoolu. 19. sajandil hakati seda perioodi kunstis tähistama üldnimetusega "barokk" (it k-s eriskummaline). Barokk arenes eelkõige feodaalkatoliiklikes maades, kus kodanlus polnud veel suuteline võimu haarama (Itaalia, Austria, Lõuna-Madalmaad (Belgia), Hispaania ja Lõuna Saksamaa). Barokk tekkis Itaalias 16. sajandi lõpul, levis sealt üle kogu Euroopa ja kustus 18. sajandi keskel. Kunstnikele anti suuri tellimusi.

Straitland

Straitland Historical Facts Straitland has served as a junction of international trade routes for Vikings. Long struggle of power with foreign intruders has left ancient strongholds in Valjala, Lihula and Soontagana. The churches in Muhu, Valjala, Mustjala, Karja and Kihelkonna are honorable and elderly because Straitland was the one to bring Christianity to Estonia. The castle of Kuressaare is still standing proudly, but in Lihula only ruins can be seen. The patterns of national dresses and the churches bring memories of secret sign cultures of Medieval Times. Good knowledge of singing and facilit...

It is one of the most famous prehistoric sites in the world and is composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones. The surrounding circular, earth bank and ditch, have been dated to about 3100 BC. Stonehenge was produced by a culture with no written language. Many aspects of Stonehenge remain subject to debate. There is little or no direct evidence for the construction techniques used by the Stonehenge builders. *The Celts in Britain and their legacy The Cets lived in Britain in The Iron Age. They were warring tribes who were battleful amongst themselves as well as inter-tribal war. They were not centrally governed. The Celts brought iron working, iron ploughs and metal swords, horses, wheels and chariots - all these things gave them an instant superiority over the native tribes. The Celts built a number...

Bridges presentation

Foreword Bridging rivers, gorges, narrows, straits, and valleys always has played an important role in the history of human settlement. Since ancient times, bridges have been the most visible testimony of the noble craft of engineers. A bridge can be defined in many ways, but Andrea Palladio, the great 16th century Italian architect and engineer, hit on the essence of bridge building when he said "...bridges should befit the spirit of the community by exhibiting commodiousness, firmness, and delight." In more practical terms, he went on to explain that the way to avoid having the bridge carried away by the violence of water was to make the bridge without fixing any posts in the water. Since the beginning of time, the goal of bridge builders has been to create as wide a span as possible which is commodious, firm, and occasionally delightful. Spanning greater distances is a distinct measure...

Foursyte Saga - The Man of Property

John Galsworthy The Man of Property PREFACE "The Forsyte Saga" was the title originally destined for that part of it which is called "The Man of Property"; and to adopt it for the collected chronicles of the Forsyte family has indulged the Forsytean tenacity that is in all of us. The word Saga might be objected to on the ground that it connotes the heroic and that there is little heroism in these pages. But it is used with a suitable irony; and, after all, this long tale, though it may deal with folk in frock coats, furbelows, and a gilt- edged period, is not devoid of the essential heat of conflict. Discounting for the gigantic stature and blood-thirstiness of old days, as they have come down to us in fairy-tale and legend, the folk of the old Sagas were Forsytes, assuredly, in their possessive instincts, and as little proof against the inroads of beauty and passion as Swithin, Soames, or even Young Jolyon. And if heroic figures, in...
