Christmas in different countrys(jõulud erinevates maades)

Christmas in Australia Christmas in Australia is often very hot. Whereas the northern hemisphere is in the middle of winter, Australians are baking in summer heat. It is not unusual to have Christmas Day well into the mid 30 degrees Celsius, or near 100 degrees Fahrenheit. A traditional meal includes a turkey dinner, with ham, and pork. A flaming Christmas plum pudding is added for dessert. In the Australian gold rushes, Christmas puddings often contained a gold nugget. Today a small favor is baked inside. Whoever finds this knows s/he will enjoy good luck. Another treat is Mince Pies. Some Australians and particularly tourists often have their Christmas dinner at midday on a local beach, Bondi Beach in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs attracts thousands of people on Christmas Day. Other families enjoy their day by having a picnic. If they are at home, the day is punctuated by swimming in a pool, playing Crick...

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

November 8, 1991 Charlie has some good news and some bad news. Firstly the good ones: Charlie got a B for his English paper on Peter Pan. His language skills are also improving. He says that he wants to write when he grows up. At the same time he is helping Mary Elizabeth with her Rocky Horror Picture Show fanzine, Punk Rocky. Charlie also says that he loves Sam. And the bad news is that Sam has already a boyfriend Craig. Charlie's sister tells him that Sam used to be a "blow queen". This hurts Charlie very much, because he didn't want to think like that over Sam. November 12, 1991 Charlie likes Twinkies. He tells a story about rats, pleasurable rewards, and electric shock. It's a very interesting experiment and it tells that rat or mouse would put up with a lot more voltage for the pleasure. November 15, 1991 Charlie thinks a lot about his brother and his dad. I think that Charlie's brother and father are big idols for them. He say...

Meals and cooking

Meals and Cooking When we cook, we boil, roast, fry or stew our food. We boil eggs, meat, chicken, fish, milk, water and vegetables. We fry eggs, fish and vegetables. We stew fish, meat, vegetables or fruit. We roast meat or chicken. We put salt, sugar, pepper, vinegar and mustard into our food to make it salted, sweet, sour or simply tasty. Our food may taste good or bad or it may be tasteless. The usual meals in England are breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner or, in simpler houses, breakfast, dinner, tea and supper. For breakfast English people mostly have porridge or cornflakes with milk or cream and sugar, bacon and eggs, marmalade with buttered toast and tea or coffee. For a change they can have a boiled egg, cold ham, or fish. English people generally have lunch about one o'clock. At lunch time in a London restaurant one usually finds a mutton chop, or steak and chips, ...

Tea

About Tea "Shall I put the kettle on?" or "Would you like a nice cup of tea?" are questions you might be asked if you visit someone's home in the UK. The traditional English drink is tea - it is drunk throughout the day and is often made during social occasions. Coffee has become popular in recent years, but many people continue to drink tea. In the UK there are as many different ways of making and drinking tea as there are flavours. People drink Indian teas, Chinese teas, herbal teas, and fruit teas. English tea is specially adapted for UK tastebuds. To make a cup of English tea the first step is to boil some water - usually in an electric kettle. Traditionally the drink is then made by pouring the boiling water into a teapot and adding tea leaves. The leaves are left to infuse, or brew, and when it is ready the liquid is poured into teacups through a strainer and drunk with milk. Nowadays, many people use teabags, which are perfora...

The advantages and disadvantages of fast food. For some people fast food is part of their everyday life. It is designed to for busy people who do not have time to cook. But how many people are aware of the advantages and disadvantages of fast food? To start with, the most important thing to know is that fast food is not healthy. It is full of saturated fats and other chemicals, which are not useful to us. People should start to work less and cook more. That guarantees they will be healthier, more active and less sleepy. Fast food is not always harmful. Our bodies need a balanced diet we need some fats, sugars and salt what are in fast food. Everybody should know when to stop eating fast food. Christmas

Christmas By Xxxx Xxxx Nowadays, Christmas is celebrated almost world-wide. It's a global time of peace for all who believe in the magic of it. Overworked people treasure days that bring rest and recreation and allow them to meet their families and friends. They appreciate days when they give and receive gifts - the evidence of friendship, of remembrance and love. A time when it feels good to give, when anger is forgotten, when heaven becomes a place on earth for a moment. We tend to think of Christmas as a time for children, but what if Christmas gives each of us the opportunity to be the child? To have wise men bring priceless gifts to us, to be held by an adoring mother and father, to feel that everything will be okay...forever. What if Christmas is a chance to start fresh? A clean slate. Instead of New Year resolutions, we could g...

Irish Christmas

Christmas in Ireland lasts from Christmas Eve to the feast of the Epiphany on January 6, which is referred to as Little Christmas. Ireland's Christmas is more religious than a time of fun. Lighted candles are placed in windows on Christmas Eve, as a guide that Joseph and Mary might be looking for shelter. The candles are usually red in color, and decorated with sprigs of holly. Irish women bake a seed cake for each person in the house. They also make three puddings, one for each day of the Epiphany such as Christmas, New Year's Day and the Twelfth Night. After the Christmas evening meal, bread and milk are left out and the door unlatched as a symbol of hospitality. St Stephen's Day, the day after Christmas, is almost as important, with football matches and meetings going on. For children, the Wren Boys Procession is their big event. Boys go from door to door with a fake wren on a stick, singing, with violins, accordions, harmonicas and ...

Moreover, you said that the price is all- inclusive but I had to pay for some things. For example I had to pay for my dinner. What is more, I was disappointed because you said that there are full range of health and diet programmes, but all guests ate the same food and we did not have any healty food at all. Jane Austeni "Emma" ja "Persuasion"

EMMA Youthful Emma Woodhouse, whose long-time governess and friend Miss Taylor has just married Mr. Weston, takes some solace in being left alone with her aging father by claiming that she made the match herself. An old friend of the family, Mr. George Knightley, does not believe her, but in her certainty she decides that she must also marry off the young rector, Mr. Elton. Among her friends and acquaintances in the large and populous village of Highbury, she begins to notice young Harriet Smith, the pretty illegitimate seventeen-year-old who lives at Mrs. Goddard's boarding school. Determining first to improve Harriet, Emma discourages her interest in worthy Robert Martin of Abbey-Mill Farm, declares that Harriet must be from more genteel parents than his, and fixes upon Harriet as Mr. Elton's future wife. In bringing the two together socially, Emma does a drawing of Harriet which Mr. Elton admires and takes off to London to be frame...

To: Mrs M.Jacobs, Manager of Marco´s From: Madli Tamm, Assistant Manager of Marco´s Subject: Marco´s fast food restaurant Date: 06/10/17 Introduction The aim of this report is to assess the positive and the negative parts of Marco´s restaurant and suggest some changes. Food and prices Despite the fact that there is not a wide variety of dishes to choose from, the food is well-cooked and looks beautiful. The prices of food are resonable. What is more the drinks were cheap. Service The staff was friendly and helpful they can make very helpful suggestions about the menu. However, the service is a bit slow at times, especially at the lunch hours. Atmosphere The restaurant has a friendly relaxed atmosphere. You can not help but be in a good mood while you are there, because of the cheerful music. However the music is too loud sometimes, so you cant hear the waitresses. Although the lihgting is a bit poor, so it is difficult to read the m...
