Fast food . Advantages and disadvantages.

Fast food . Advantages and disadvantages. I will write about fast food- advantages and disadvantages. Advantages of fast food is that it's made easily and fast. You just go maybe to McDonald's and you buy your meal about 5-8 minutes and your meal is done. You have full stomach and you are happy about 2-4 hours and then you're hungry again. More advantages are that it's so easily available and cheap, you can get it in drive-in and you can order it home. It's good business to let people it that stuff. Disadvantages because people are addicted to it and it has affected their life harshly. And the workers there aren't so polite. There was article that they have been given wrong change back or spit in peoples food. Or they make fries with oil that has been there about 4-8 weeks. And what they offer to people isn't healthy at all. The use only the cheapest ingredients. People think that they it fast food then they don't have to cook at home...

Uurimustöö Sloth

Sloth Sloths live in Central and South America. Sloths are mostly about the size of the small dog. They are about 50- 60 cm long. Sloths have short, flat heads , big eyes , a short snout, long legs and tiny ears , and they also have stubby tails. Sloths move only when necessary and even then very slowly : they can move at a marginally higher speed if they are in immediate danger from a predator (4.5 m or 15 feet per minute), but they burn large amounts of energy doing so. They may eat insects, small lizards, and carrion, but their diet consists mostly of buds, tender shoots, and leaves, mainly of Cecropia trees. It lives about 30 years long. Sloth moves very slow , thats why they are called a lazy animal. On the ground their maximum speed is 0.54 meters per second (1.2 mph).

Computers breed laziness and discontent

Computers breed laziness and discontent Nowadays most people have computers.People are getting more and more addicted to computers and of course Internet. I think that every human should control his or her computer using habits. First of all, people have to use their brains lesser. They do not have to remember how to spell words anymore, the computer does it all for them. What is more, students do not have to go library to do their home tasks. They can just use Internet search engines. For this reason, people`s brains grow lazy. Secondly, people are just sitting behind the computer and watching the screen. They are chatting or doing work but they do not understand that they must take break and do some exercises. In my opinion not exercising can make people stressed and unsatisfied. Finally, we think that is very comfort to communicate with friends and other people via Internet. This kind of communication can lead ...

Forgiveness and punishment

Forgiveness and punishment Everybody who has ever done anything wrong has wanted forgiveness or gotten punishment. But forgiveness is not easy however punishment is. So should people forgive or should they decide to punish? Firstly people often do not want to forgive others and want them to feel the same pain as they did. As a result of that people want to punish the people who hurt them. Although if the defendant is sorry and regrets what they did, maybe it's okay to forgive. Even though it may be hard to let go of the hatred and emotions in the end it might help to move on. Secondly if the culprit is not sorry, do they even deserve redemption? And all the people in prisons who don't feel guilt, should we keep them in prison until they do? However the problem with that is that it costs a lot of money. On the other hand there's the dea...

THE CANONIZATION

THE CANONIZATION Love is one of the most beautiful and amazing feeling in the world. Many poems give different stories and meanings of love. ,,The Canonization" is very beautiful poem, and its talked about love. The poem is the story of two people who are in love, so in love. The man, which one is the hero in this poem wasn't that good looking. He had gray hairs and he had palsy. But even so, he had an appreciation for the arts and religion made him a very sensitive and caring man. He really belived, that this love is a right thing for their both. He belived that they two beign one. There are one neutral thing they die and rise the same. They are so in love. But other people don't like their love mystery. They told others to not criticize them for their love. They continue and stating that their love has never hurt anyone or anything and told the other peoples that they don't care however they feel...

Advertising has a bad influence on children

Kristin Loit Advertising has a bad influence on children Advertising is one way of marketing. The aim of advertising is to get people's attention that people would buy one particular company's products or services. Commercials and ads are not only directed to adults but also for children's. The good thing of advertising is that it helps us to become aware of the products in the market and the bad thing is the negative effect on childrens. To begin with, childrens are defenseless. They do not understand the ads or commercials, they do not know that it is only a business plan. Advertisements are made in such a way as to attract the attention of children. And that leads to there that children ask their parents to buy some certain products. Children are very useful customers for companies, they help businesses to increase their profits. Secondly, children a...

Complaint

Complaint This February I planned a roundtrip flight for 4 travellers from Anchorage to Toronto from 4th of July till 13th of July 2014. After buying the tickets from the Internet (tickets.ua), I decided to pick seating for all of them. In February, I found a link through the airline webpage where I could easily pick seating for each of them. I sent my 14 year-old son on the trip with his grandfather and I wanted them sit next to each other because it was his first long flight. Furthermore, my son specially asked if he could have seat by the window. Under these conditions, we finally chose their seats and booked tickets. I received a conformation on my email after booking the tickets and everything seemed to be okay until May. My son noticed they no longer had their seats available for them anymore. He thereupon sent an e-mail to a LOT' Estonia representative to clarify the facts. In response they said that the booking was not free sin...

When the Americans withdrawed all of their offers to help Nasser nationalised the Suez canal so that he could use the it's revenues to finance the Aswan High Dam. b) When Nasser nationalised the canal the Brits and the French were outraged because they were the main financiers and shareholders of the Suez Canal. They wanted Nasser destroyed and removed.By August 1956 the British and the French were holding meetings to discuss a possible seizure of the Suez canal by force. The French wanted the Israelis to join their side but it would have been a problem because the Brits had a treaty with Jordan. However, when they found out that Israelis weren't intending to attack Jordan any time soon, the Brits, French and Israelis decided to join their forces against Egypt and started to make plans. If you have created something, then try to be open minded

If you have created something, then try to be open minded Teacher: O'Mahony V.PG 11A 09.03.2009 This written essay here is talking about my thoughts and facts of life, what is around us. First I thought that why is always easier to create something but to destroy is much harder. Exactly there have been so many wars in history. Everybody wanted to own a lot of countries and others had to fight for their created country. Also they started to teach young people to kill and protect their country with killing enemies. Also government tried to keep a low profile, if there were some wars in state. These are my thoughts of creating and keeping something. In the old times were many wars. Some states predominated over other weaker countries or states. Weaker countries had created their own and loved country and they wanted to live like that for a long time. But also stronger countries wanted to broaden their boards and...

Thanksgiving

Topic No. 4 Thanksgiving In the United States, the fourth Thursday in November is called Thanksgiving Day. On this day Americans give thanks for the blessings they have enjoyed during the year. Thanksgiving is usually a family day, celebrated with big dinners. The first American Thanksgiving was held in Plymouth. The Puritans from England came to America because they were unappreciated. They were called the Pilgrims. They came to America on a ship called Mayflower. September was the worst season of the year for sea crossing. After 65 days they landed at Cape Cod. The Pilgrims suffered a great deal during their first winter, because they were poorly equipped and poorly trained. One spring morning an Indian came and introduced him in a friendly way. The Indian chief offered assistance to the pilgrims and the Indians thought the Pilgrims how to hunt, fish, and grow food. ...

Should people prefer going out or staying at home? Should people prefer going out or staying at home that is the question.Every person is different. Many people are in love with the TV set and they cannot love without it. The other ones prefer to keep busy themselves with outside doings. I think that people should go out more, because indoor lifestyle is getting more popular than ever.Young people are getting more lazy, because they have everything what they need to communicate in their homes, and they do not have to go out to meet their friends.I think that many people use their leisure time in wrong way. They sit in their homes and they don't do nothing useful. They watch television and sit in front of their computers. Then they eat and srink some junkfood like popcorns and coca-cola they are not healthy people. Many doctors are worried of children, because they are overweight and their eyes are damaged. ...

Taking up cycling instead of using a car is too dangerous in cities. It could be argued that taking up cycling is very healthy for people. It supports people more to move and it is like doing a sport. Besides it is very good for environment. Thanks to using bicycles cities air will be cleaner and air is not such impure. Thanks to cleaner air people's can breathe better air. This is partly true, but taking up cycling instead of using a car is really more dangerous than use only cars. Thanks to taking up cycling traffic will go busier and messier. There is much different kind of movers in traffic and it makes traffic really dangerous. It is clear that it is not too dangerous. There are many cities where cycling is very popular, for example in Copenhagen. If this method will be chosen, city needs to build special cycling roads. Thanks to these roads traffic should be safer. More energy is used up taking items to re...

Books are not absolutely dead things

Jakko Viilo, 11.c Books are not absolutely dead things Books have been our mates many centuries. They give you a lot of knowledge, they make you feel happy, but sometimes also sad too. If you have read any book through, one is certain your life is not the same anymore as it was. So, a question comes to my mind if books are material things, they can not speak, they can not do anything to you, they just lay on the table, then how they can influence your life sometimes so much? They are all written by humans. But the interesting thing actually is, that in his lifetime, human being is the smartest on this planet and can make big things, but this is all transient. Humans die. But if human creates something, for example, a book, then it may live centuries. Books are like the continuation of the book writers life. Human's mind can fo...

Computer games

VIDEO GAMES Video games, nowadays, are a new form of entertainment that has replaced traditional games. As everything in life, it has advantages, if they are used with coherence, but also disadvantages. On the one hand, you can have a good time alone. Besides, there are many logical games where it is possible to learn. Apart from being entertaining, they test your logic and skills. Video games can also improve your reflex actions and develop your imagination. On the other hand, video games can cause addiction and make you lose communication with your family and friends. People sometimes spend too much time in front of the screen, so they are not in the street with their friends. Furthermore, some video games are very aggressive and can influence our behaviour negatively. I believe that if video games are used properly and in the correct measure, they can be fun, but, in my opinion, it is much more interesting to be out with friends ...

Essay- Money is the All Root of Evil

Essay: Money is the root of all evil Vanessa Maibaum Money is the only thing you need to pay for things you have to buy. It helps to buy and sell things and pay for the services. When money is so important, then why people say that its the root of all evil. Money is also something that causes a lot of troble. For example when you have it much then some people only are friends with you because they need money. Like, they play friends with you only because they know that when they need money then they can borrow that from you. Also it causes troble too when you do not have money. Because when you do not have it you think that you are so unhappy only because you do not have money. It is because you cannot buy things you think you need to be happy. I think that, when someone thinks that they are unhappy because they do not have money, they a...

Different cultures

Different cultures- a problem or blessing? When we live in our country we never think that something that we do is wrong and needs some changes. Only by meeting the different cultures you may think that some things that you had before were worse or better than they need to be. Effective communication with people of different cultures is especially challenging. Cultures provide people with ways of thinking--ways of seeing, hearing, and interpreting the world. The same words can mean different things to people from different cultures, even when they talk the "same" language. When the languages are different, and translation has to be used to communicate, the potential for misunderstandings increases. Second are "behavior constraints." Each culture has its own rules about proper behavior which affect verbal and nonverbal communication. Whether one looks the other person in the eye-or not; whether one says what one means overtly or talks a...

Conditions of the productive animals in farms.

Conditions of the productive animals in farms. The inescapable fact is that the conditions in big farms, especially in factory farms, are unacceptably bad. Recent proof of that was the Põima farm case in Estonia were 260 cows are starving. Animals are wet because of their own excrements, some spots on their body are furless, their bones poke out from their skin and they can hardly stand up. What is more, they do not have food or litter, so they lie on cold cemented floor that is covered with dung. This problem is not actual only in Estonia. Also the reality of Finnish factory farming was recently revealed. Producers arguments as there are severe problems related to intensive farming abroad and animals in Finland are treated properly, were more than doubt filling. That is why there was conducted an inquiry to investigate the real conditions in Finnish farms. During the investigation 21 Finnish broiler farms, 6...

The good and bad points of being rich and famous

Eliise Mändla MT-13 The good and bad points of being rich and famous 1.11.2015 Almost everyone of us, at least once, dreamed a life of being rich and famous. But like many other things, as we are witnessing on almost daily basis, that kind of life brings both positive and negative sides. Firstly, celebrities have a lot of money , which they earn in a simple way. Also they don't have to worry about their future. They can do whatever they are pleased to. Travel wherever they want, live wherever, eat and buy whatever they want. Secondly, if you are young and your parents are rich you can start using the advantages of being rich already as a kid. For example you can go to a private school or even to a private kindergarten. On the other hand , their wealth and fame make their life stressful. Moreover , it makes people jealous and hateful. Such people find it difficult to make true friends and maintain re...

New Media Economy Social media information and data collection and security In this brief essay, i would like to focus on the social media platforms in our moren society. How people use them, what kind of information we give away, what companies will do with this. Information sharing and data protection has become very popular theme in the recent few years. People care more about their privacy and avoid „big brother“ foreshadowing. It is important to know what social media platforms promise and are they really going to keep it. Inglise keelne pildi kirjeldus.

Pildi kirjeldamine In this picture there is diffrent colour of people hands. They are all diffrent, their all special, they all got skill for something and they all are good people deep in the heart, even if they do not seem like. We might have a diffrent colour of skin but that dose not mean that one is better from others. In this picture, uniting hands from diffrent race is powerful for everybody, you can not see this often. Thats why this picture shows us that all people can be friends if we try and ignore that we are diffrent. We might be diffrent from outside, but we are not diffrent in inside. Today society is all about rasicism and that is causing so much trouble and problems, especially in USA. We cant choose our race, skin colour or location where we living. We born and we die togheter. In this picture there is soldiers in there uniform, weapons, they are somewhere in bunker, it seems like it is ...

Kõne Briti majandusest inglise keeles

In 1998 compensation claims cost 6.8 billion pounds in Britain. That's a massive amount of money to pay. Let's put that number in context. If you are a sports fan, you could afford a 248-season contract for one of the most paid basketball players in the world, Lebron James. At that time it was eight times the budget, which was approved by the Estonian Government. So it was a heavy sum to pay. In Britain I think they can only blame themselves. You see, unlike many other nations, the UK has no single core constitutional document. In this sense, it is said not to have a written constitution, but much of the British constitution is embodied in written documents, within statues, court judgments and treaties. So in my opinion that's a stupid system. Because if you watch other countries how much do they pay for compensation claims then it's nothing. Though in other countries there are huge sums what civilians get from companies. A former femal...

My Magna Carta.

My Magna Carta. When I first started my own Magna Carta, I thought what's the most near heart and important to me. I chose two main topics, what I find important and relevant. I'm sure that I'm not the onl one who thinks like that. The first thing I would do, is forbid bullying. What is bullying? Bullying is the use of force, threat or duress to abuse, terrorize or aggressively dominate others. There are different types of victims. One of those is the one that ignores all the hate and insulting what comes at him/her. The other one takes it all by heart and seriously. Words can hurt, a lot. Most of the people don't realize what are they causing the victim, when bullying him/her. The worse cause that bullying can cause, is suicide. There is 7% of young people who attempt suicide every year. Nearly 30% of students don't go to school, because they don't want to get bullied. Also ...

History of the USA.

The United States of America. History. For thousands of years America was unknown to Europe. There lived only the native people, who had come from Siberia many thousand years ago by a land bridge. They had spread over the country, varying enormously from nomadic food gatherers to fishing societies. Then the Vikings visited Canada around AD 1000, but they did not stay. In 1492 Christopher Columbus discovered America while trying to reach India. He named the native people Indians, because he though he had reached India. He didn't stay either and in the sixteenth century the first Europeans to settle in America were the Spanish, the English and the French. The first village founded by the English settlers was in Virginia in 1607. It was called Jamestown. They didn't have good relations with the Indians and many of them died. But Pocahontas, the daughter of an Indian chief, became their friend and helped them....

Tigers

Tiger Summary Lilli Lakkur Biology, course 1 Today tigers are facing extinction but there are also some National Parks where they are protected. There is a National Park in the heart of India where a female tiger is trying to raise a family. She has got three little cubs. They are only nine weeks old and need mother's milk and protection. She is a successful mother because she knows how to take care of her cubs. The male tiger doesn't help her to raise the cubs. Male tigers also don't like being followed and they fight for their territory in order to mate several females. In fact male tigers are a huge danger to young cubs and one of their main enemies. Females also fight for territory but they do it so as to have more food. Mother tiger can track her cubs by scent. She gives her offspring killing lessons in a form of games because playing ...

Summary Education

Education The education system is a little bit different in the UK than ours. For example they have go to school 2 years earlier than us. Primary school is for pupils aged 5-11. Though schooling is only compulsory from age 5 in the UK, children most commonly enter Reception Class aged 4 in the academic year in which they will reach their 5th birthday. When pupils are aged 7 they sit Key Stage 1 [SATs]. Key Stage 2 SATs are taken when pupils are aged 11. Secondary school is for pupils aged 11-16. 11-13 years old pupils study a broad range of 10–15 subjects. No public examinations are taken during this time. Traditionally, at the age of 14 students start a programme that lasts for 2 years and during which time they study up to 11 subjects of their choice. After this students take GCSE state examinations After 16 attending at school isn't compulsory but pupils can stay at school, go to coll...

My favourite band: Dagö

Dagö First time, when I heard band Dagö playing, was at Viljandi Folk Music Festival in 2007. I liked them very much and I went to all three concersts they gave at Festival. Although they have made music for about a decade, they have never been widely known. Maybe because they write and play music with their own style rather than try to win hearts and ears of masses. But always known in certain circle of people, who go to theatre and enjoy quality music, because lead singer of the band, Lauri Saataplu, is well-known actor and singer. I like their music, because of the addicting off-beat rythm they have. They have announced that their new album ,,Plan Delta" will be released in April of 2011.

Austraalia

Australia Topic Koostas: Aineõpetaja: Tallinn 2011 Location Only one country in the world fills a whole continent. That country is Australia. The continent it fills is Australia, too. Australia, then, is both a country and a continent. If someone wants to make clear that he is speaking of the country, he may call it by its full name of Commonwealth of Australia. Sixty million years ago Australia and its nearby islands were separated from the rest of the world by a great upheaval. They were cut off from Asia by the ocean. Very few people and almost no animals visited Australia before English colonists began to settle there in 1788. During all those 60 million years the native Australian mammals developed by themselves, undisturbed by the animals developing elsewhere. Australia is the only continent except Antarctica that is all sout...

Why read? essay

Why read? Everybody has their own reasons for reading. Reading has been the main entertainment for centuries, although, nowadays people read less and less. It is probably due to the fact that in our modern world we have television and internet. Most of people are mainly reading for entertainment. They think that reading is a good way to spend their time and moreover, they find it also very useful. Secondly, in addition that reading is interesting it is also the best way to get information. We can read about other cultures or even learn languages from books. Reading widens our horizon and makes us wise. There are lots of reasons for reading. Every group such as students or grownups have their main reasons. Students read because they have obligatory literature. Some of them read beacause they want to get a good mark and some, however, truly like reading because they find it fascinating. Whereas reading is interesting, it is also beneficia...

Speed cameras are not a good way to make our roads safer. Do you agree with this statement?

Speed cameras are not a good way to make our roads safer. Do you agree with this statement? The offical reason for installing cameras that monitor along the roads is that they will bring speed down and due to this many lives can be saved. Speed cameras probably decrease the average speed a bit at the spot where the camera is, but in my opinion they really make driving much more stressful and unsafe. First of all, in our country there are a lot of speed cameras on the roads. Mostly of them are on a straight roads, which even do not need a speed camera. As our country is pretty small, almost everybody driving daily knows exactly where are these speeding cameras. That makes no sense because they slow down before the camera and after it they speed up. Secondly, people are afraid of tickets. They must check their speedometer before the speed camera to hold the speed around allowed level. That takes drivers attention from the road. It...

THE CAPITALIST NIGER

THE CAPITALIST NIGER Chika Onyeani ………………………Every African must internalise this book - period….DAA INTRODUCTION In October 1960, Nigeria received its independence from Britain. By then, Ghana the former Gold Coast had been independent for three years under the great Osagyefo Kwame Nkumah. It was a time for celebrating Africa’s coming of age, as more and more African countries received their independence either from Britain or France. It was especially a poignant time for Africa, as then British Prime Minister Harold McMillan articulated his now famous “winds of change” sweeping Africa. We had high hopes for Africa, for the Black race, that the insidious imposition of foreign rule on us, the looting of Africa’s natural resources by our colonial masters accorded us would be things of history. That is more than forty years ago. Unfortunately, the promise of independence has not been fulfilled. Today, Africa has become more desolate; th...
