Should parents limit the time their children use computers? Computer what is it? Are computers our friends or enemies? Computers were invented in the last century especially to make people`s life easier. When there were no computers in the world, everything was much more complicated. Information spreaded slowly and if we wanted to write our friends, we must wait for a long time that the letter would reach the place. Nowadays computers are very common and almost everyone has it at home. Computer is very useful in many areas, for example in the companies, in schools. You can pay bills, read the most recent news, talk to friends, play games. Big computer use has also caused major problems. Almost every person has a computer at home and young children learn to use them. This ,,exciting thing" is robs a lot of free time for children. Capital punishment should to be abolished Capital punishment is a form of punishment where a person's life is taken. This is one of the most controversial topics today. People are either favour or against it. Firstly capital punishment saves money compared to the alternative of life in prison because criminals deserve to die, not stay in jail and live comfortable life. Also when a killer stays in prison he takes up space in already over crowed prisons. Secondly it might prevent the fact that people who have killed someone before, would probably to it again. Because killer`s point of view does not change. Finally it would reassure the people close to the victim it would not happen again. Also it gives them the feeling that the death has been avenged. A family will feel less pain if the killer dies. In my opinion capital punishment should not be abolished, because if someone has committed a major crime such as ra...

The best things in life are free There is a saying that the best things in life are free. It's certainly true that money can't buy you happiness, but can you truly be happy if you don't have any money at all? On one hand, things like food, clothes and having a decent home to live in are quite essential to living a happy and normal life. These are basic needs that humans have, but none of those are free and they all cost money. But, for all that money is useful and good to have around, for all that it can buy, there are quite a few things that it can't buy. Money can't buy you thing like friends and family, love, health, knowledge and intelligence, and the list could go on and on. At the end of the day, these are the things that matter the most and this goes to show that the best things in life are really free. It's important to state that the saying can be either true or false, but it all depends on what a certain person thi...

Am I an optimist or pessimist We live a hard life, we need to deal with many problems. And everyone looks at these problems in there own way. Some of the people are optimistic and the others are not. But is my glass half-full or half-empty? To answer this question I have to weigh all the pros and cons. For example, sometimes in hard situations I just give up, because I just can no longer force this. But I still know, that somewhere deep in my heart there is hope that everything will be alright. That is why I can proudly call myself an optimistic person! And I want to give you good advice! Even on those days when nothing in your life seems to be going right, it can be really tough to see the silver lining among all those clouds. But ability to see the good in even the worst situations is so important. Try to be more optimistic and you will see-life is not that bad! The world is beautiful! I hope that my essay will help to se...

A day out to remember It was a sunny summer day. I woke up, like always, brushed my teeth and went to eat. After all that, I chill in my computer, chat with friends and just watched TV. I had a phone call, I was a little bit surprised because it was my old friend with who I didn't see a long time. she called me, to ask, whether i want to go out with her. I agree and started to dress. When I stepped out from the house, I looked around and see that day was wonderful. When I was walking by the old lady, she was smiling to me, I smiled to her too. And then she said something strange, she said < Be careful today, girl. > At first I didn't notice it, but when I walked more I started to think about this. I started to walk across the road and then everybody around started to scream, I stopped, and then realized, if I had been stepping one step more, the car would have ran me over and then may be I would ...
Dear Ann, I am writing to you from my new house, that I just moved in yesterday. The house really looks fantastic, it is surrounded with a luxuriant garden. And it's a quiet area, but the best thing about it is that it is less that kilometer from the city center. Inside, the house is nice and comfortable. It has two floors. On the ground floor there is bed-rooms, a living-room, a bathroom with a shower, a dinning-room, a kitchen and a toilet. It is air-conditioned and well-furnished. The living-room is decorated beautifully. Paintings by famous artists are hung on the walls. Upstairs there is my own huge bedroom and bathroom. I hope I'll see you here soon, darling! Yours sincerely, Katrin Agejeva
History of Gillette Razors On November 15, 1904, patent was granted to King C. Gillette for a safety 'razor'. In 1895, after several years of considering and rejecting possible inventions, Gillette suddenly had a brilliant idea while shaving one morning. It was an entirely new razor and blade that flashed in his mind --a razor with a safe, inexpensive, and disposable blade. It took six years for Gillette's idea to evolve. During that time, technical experts told Gillette that it would be impossible to produce steel that was hard, thin, and inexpensive enough for commercial development of the disposable razor blade. Then in 1901, MIT graduate William Nickerson agreed to try. By 1903, he had succeeded.
Getting the most out of myself Our world today is a hard place to succeed, but in order to break through, one must work hard on personal development, devote in education and strive towards progress. Thankfully there are a handful of techniques and strategies that will help a person achieve better results in acquiring knowledge. Firstly, it is important to make perfectly clear what is one´s motivation to learn is it a strive for a well-paid job, a place in a university or simply acknowledgement? Motivation is the key tool towards progress, it keeps you going when you experience failure or breakdown. Therefore it is like fuel to a car - a car might have all the functioning mechanical parts, but when it does not have fuel, it will not go very far. On the other hand, if a car has a tank filled with fuel, but lacks the crucial spare parts, it will not work well either. This is where study techniques come in, fo...

English is the only foreign language worth learning English is quite far-spread language all over the world. Lots of people believe that English is only foreign language what is need to be learned. I strongly agree with this view for a number of reasons. First of all, nowadays English is the most widely spoken and undrestood language in the business world. International companys and other organsations uses English as their communication language. What is more, when students would like to go studying abroad then English is necessery and sufficient. Usually the studies are in English and being on abroad usually you can speak in English. Furthermore, travelling in foreign country is not a problem when you can speak and undrestand a little bit English. Being in tourist region like somewhere in USA, England or other you can communicate everybody in English. All in all, I believe that English is one of the most important ...

Internet chatrooms do not serve a useful purpose Internet takes a lot of time of our day, there are many dangers especially to young girls on the internet chatrooms. Still, in some point it is useful nowadays, there is a lot of information, news, chatting with friends. Talking on the Internet with friends is easy and fast way to communicate. In a chatroomyou can send pictures to your friends or doucments or make a video call. You can also play games and make a group conversation there. But actually it is not full of joy. In chatrooms there are sometimes older men who are trying to contact young girls. I saw a documentary about chatrooms lately and there were men who set up a date with under- aged girl, they recorded it and it was sent to police, because having more-than- friends-relationship with under- aged girl is against the law. Parents and schools should be teaching more about Internet safety nowadays to h...
Bad Teacher Elizabeth Halsey (Cameron Diaz) is a Chicago middle school teacher at the fictional John Adams Middle School who curses at her students, consumes lots of alcohol, smokes marijuana, and only shows movies while she sleeps through class. "People these days are thinking less and drinking more'' Nowadays, alcoholism is rising and this is a big problem not only amongst teenagers but also amongst adults. When there is a problem or a difficult situation people do not think how can they solve it. They think, "Where is my bottle of vodka?'' There are several possible solutions to this problem. What clearly needs to be done is to encourage people to handle their problems without using alcohol. Firstly, we have to teach them that thinking clearly is more effective than thinking with an alcohol bottle. Secondly, we should tell them that they have got supportive friends whom they can rely on. Another suggestion is that the media should not promote drinking. Commercials are very effective with teenagers because commercials are very colourful and memorable. Also, when teenagers see some beautiful advertisement with lots of people who are having a party with drin...

My favorite part of town Toila Oru Park My Favorite part of town is called Toila Oru park, which is located 20 km outside the city. The park includes castle complex, luxurious gardens with more than 800 sorts of plants, large beach, amazing terraces, cafés, mysterious spring cave, singing stage and much more. One of the main reason I like it is that there you can always find place for yourself. You can walk in the park, relax on the beach, read on a park bench or just enjoy incredibly beautiful views. There are a lot of interesting places to see. One of the most visited places are the area near terrace, where you can find wonderful rose garden, which is very colorful and aromatic. At the beginning this land was owned by Grigori Jelissejev in 1897. Then he decided to build luxurious summer villa, which could compete with famous resting mekas in France, Riviera ...
Given opportunity, which country would you like to visit: England, Australia, or the United States of America? I have always though of my country as a huge ,,multicultural city". We have so many different cultures from different places put into a little place all together that I could almost say we are a huge city not a country. I would not leave here, but if I had an opportunity to choose which country I would like to visit, I definitely would choose Australia. But why Australia? Australia is located in the Pacific ocean and it's sixth country in the world for it's size. This country doesn't have an official language, but it's national language is English. Australia has much lakes and rivers and climate is dampish and warm. I´ve reasearched and also heard that Australia is a pretty safe country and especially good for beach life, partying, relaxing with friendly locals, wide-...
Everyone should be made to learn English Everybody knows their own language, but it is useful to know foreign languages. In present society we have to, at least, know basic English, because nowadays it plays a major international role and everything is based on English. Nowadays you can go almost everywhere and you can (make through everything when you know some English. For example; It is a whole lot easier to find a job, read English literature in the original. If you know the language of the country, where you're travelling to, it will be easier to go there. Knowledge of foreign languages helps us to develop friendship and understanding among the other people and it is easy to find and visit such camps and speak with people who do not know Estonian. Also you can read something and also understand films without any help. I find that English connects different people and helps us to feel like a bi...

I am looking forward to receiving your advice. Yours faithfully,

Although there are an abundance of tall tales, and myths describing colourful ways the Giant's Causeway came into being, the actual, natural history is a bit less exciting. The actual history is that the rock formations were created by a lava flow some 65 million years ago by molten basalt rising through a chalk bed, and then cooling and cracking to form the tall columns that make up the causeway. Legend: Legend has it that the Finn McCool built the causeway to walk to Scotland to fight his Scottish counterpart Benandonner. One version of the legend tells that Fionn fell asleep before he got to Scotland. To protect Fionn, his wife Oonagh laid a blanket over h...

For and against modern technology for communication From time to time the technology for communication has developed forward. The developing has its good and bad sides. The positive side is that it is faster and more comfortable because we have the Internet. The Internet is used similarly around the world.because of its low cost it is a good way to communicate with friends and family, especially contact with those who are far away for example in other countrys. On the other hand many people work with the Internet because it is the fastest and easiest way to contact others and send files. The other way of modern communication is to call somebody by mobilephone also you can send SMS's to others. Mobilephone is good when you are not at home because everyone can catch you by calling. But the Internet also has its negative sides. The main problem of it is the spreading of viruses. A virus on your computer can cause th...

School Uniform is a bad thing To start with, school uniforms have many good sides for students. However, uniforms also have bad sides which are particulary involved with financial problems. Each and every person in the world is different, and by making people dress the same, they can't express themselves fairly the way that they would like to. Having school uniforms is not necessary, and there are many reasons to prove it. Some people say that wearing a school uniform stop the bullying, because all children wear the same clothes. But it's not true - the bullys and other evil student will always find another reason to make somebody feel bad - like glasses, pimples or overweight. Second reason that schools have school uniforms is because of the gangs. They believe, when all of the children wear the same clothes, they will not have any gangs. But students communicate with each o...

Capital Punishment Should be Abolished Evidence suggests that the death penalty does not deter people from committing crimes. It is a cruel and cold blooded form of punishment and there have been instances where innocent people were sentenced to death and later found to be innocent. Why is it wrong? Capital punishment is a barbarous survival from a less enlightened and refined age; it is incongruous and incompatible with our present standard of civilization and humanity. It has been abolished by many states and countries, and we must look forward to the day when all the governments will follow this. It's a murder. The first question that comes to mind is, is it ethically acceptable to kill someone? When you execute a person, what is the difference between you and the criminal who has committed the crime of killing another individual. Furthermore, capital punishment can be inappropriate and unjust. It's not necessary. There is always a ...
LOVE AND MARRIAGE According to the Bible, you have to love your mate. Why there are so many couples, who have married without love? In history there are a few exaples about marriages which based on the wealth and a glory For example Mary, the Queen of Scots married without love with Lord Darnley. Centuries later Charles, Prince of Wales married with Diana, barely knowing her. In this time, the upper class had to marry with their kind of people. In India, women have to marry with the men, who their parents have chosen for them. In my opinion people shouldn't marry, when they don't have feelings for each other or when they barely know each other. The religion shouldn't be also a reason for marriage. There's no point of it, when after the month or two they will divorce.
IS FOOTBALL BETTER THAN READING Everyone knows that sport and education are very important, but which one is better- football or reading? Gary Lineker said:" Football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win.." Football is quite important for all of us. This is a game of emotions, where everyone can show, who they are supporting. This is a team sport, where all 11 players are involved on every play. Reading is an entertainment, by which we slip, involuntarily, often helplessly, into another's skin, another's voice, another's soul. Reading is also very educating. In my opinion, football is a thousand times better. Playing football improves a team spirit and It also helps to stay fit. So my choice is definitely football.

To: Clara Philipp From: .................. Subject: Suggested improvements to shop Date: 1st April 2011 Introduction The purpose of this report is to make recommendations for possible improvements in the shop. Advertising To begin with, it would be a good idea to think about buying advertising space on local television stations or radio stations. Moreover, we should distribute flyers around our local community, newspaper inserts or on community bulletin boards. In this way the public knows that our shop exists and we will have larger circle of customers. Online Store Secondly, I believe we can also expand our shop by opening up an online store. Albeit a large number of consumers like to shop locally, there is still many, who also prefer shopping online, especially when they are looking for something in particular or something that is hard to find. As a result, having an online store, will increase shop chances of making profit. Versati...

The Irish Problem ~the Irish can not be trusted~ In 1641, just prior to the Civil War, the Irish of Ulster had begun an uprising and attacked the planters who had been settled 30 years before. Between 10,000 and 15,000 Protestant planters were murdered by the Irish at places such as Portadown. Due to the war, the English did nothing about this and the death-toll became heavily exaggerated over time. In 1649, after the Civil War had ended, Cromwell landed at ...

First of all, I'd like to ask how many of you visit Facebook on daily basis?... I thought so! Nowadays it would be hard to find a person who hasn't heard of Facebook. One in every 13 people on Earth is on Facebook right now. It is equal to oxygen for millions and millions of people. It currently has 800 million members and the numbers are going up as we speak. It would be fascinating to know, what caused such kind of phenomenon. At present I believe I could say that life has gathered into the Facebook. We can track in real time what people are doing, who they are communicating, what their marital status is and what mood they're in. Even businesses are promoting and seeking for new potential customers- through different public games where you can win from fancy dinners to fully paid trips to Hawaii. And it has been made so simple- you only have to click like and share. I think that Facebook is a good way to boost one's ego. I see people ...
