When I was a child the things that pleased me were largely other than the plants which have earned me a living as an adult. One way of solving the problem is to protect wildlife habitats as the best way to protect endangered species is to protect the places they live in. In addition to this, wildlife must have a place to find food and shelter from the weather. Logging, oil and gas drilling, over-grazing and real estate development have all resulted in the destruction of these habitats, which must be minimized as much as possible.
