What makes a person successful
1
doc

What makes a person successful?

What makes a person successful ? To answer that question, we firstly have to define a word success, because I personally think that everybody does it differently, but here comes my version. Success is a moment when a person achieves a goal that they has made for himself for a long time period. In my opinion, we have to stress the words ,,long time period." Why ? Because I do not think that somebody has made an enormous success, when the goal they had made was not actually a challenge. To make it more clear to You, we should not use extremely widespread Borat's expression ,,Great success!" so often.

Technological invention – a bless or a curse? (essay)

We can now make friends with people all over the world through the Internet. However, for every plus there is a minus. The main disadvantage is that people are depending on technology too much. Most people are addicted to computer games or watching TV. Furthermore, technology has also increased various kinds of health problems. For instance it can ruin our sight or influence our psychological condition. In conclusion, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. I personally think that technology is more of a blessing than a curse, because it plays such a important role in our daily lives and nowadays we can't live without technological inventions.

Is there a place for libraries in future?

May be someday people will even start building libraries on the water. Then we could not only read books but also rest and travel. On the other hand libraries could be built for example as hotel. Surely this library will be very popular. May be people would live there until you read the book through. Accordingly you will not have to carry books here and there and it is one more reason to think about building this library. In conclusion, I personally believe that books will become more popular and there is a place for libraries in future. Because world with libraries is much better and exciting.

Why learn English?

Why learn English? Nowadays English plays a major international role. Personally I believe, that in order to survive in present society we have to, at least, know the basic English, because almost everything is based on English. Firstly English is the international language and knowing English shows the eruditeness of people, because every person who considers him or herself to be educated has learnt it. English has switched places with Latin, which once was the language of educated people. Not to mention the fact that people can use it for communication with eachother

What are the benefits and dangers of building new factories?

experience with factories might produce an enormous amount of air pollution. Secondly, sophisticated combinations need highly educated experts, otherwise failure might cause chemical fires, which may lead to catastrophic disasters. What is more, new factories tend to start with cheap products which are produced with toxic chemicals and usually end up polluting our groundwater. In conclusion, there are clearly both marvelous and terrible sides to building new factories. Personally, I believe that building new factories is marvelous because it has positive affect on economy and also gives1 job for unemployed people, however building new factories has negative effect on environment and nature, also might have low quality products.

Pros and Cons of the Capital Punishment

improves community by making them sure, that convicted criminals would never find their way out onto the streets to offend again and it is cheaper than keeping convicted criminals in high security prison for the rest of their natural lives. On the other hand, there are opponents of the death penalty claim that `capital punishment cheapens human's life and government on the same low moral level as criminals who have taken life.` personally, I strongly support this idea. I think, that the government must be smarter and invent some kind of punishment, that would satisfy the wishes of the families and friends of murder victims and at the same time, this punishment should not be a crime. From my point of view, death penalty is the same crime like a simple murder, but it is legal, because the part of murderer plays the government. All in all, I am glad that in Estonia the capital punishment is abolished and I think. That it

Working at home and in the office

Working at home and in the office When people talk about working in the office, they usually consider the office work the most boring work ever. People have to sit still for long hours and work until theirand heads start to ache. They can only have a short lunch break and no more free time is allowed. When people work in the office, they have to give their fullest and slacking off is unapproved. In comparison, working at home seems to have many benefits. People who work at home can personally choose their working hours according to their own lifestyle and take as many breaks as they feel necessary. A good rest and a comfortable atmosphere can easily raise the quality of the work that people are doing. However, when people work at home, they might find it hard to focus and they can easily lost their motivation when they don't have a boss breathing down their necks and a clock that is ticking time and never giving them any rest

about books, if a book is truly interesting, then something just forces you to read it, you read a page and you just have to know what comes next, what is going to happen, how will the story end. Page after page after page, until eventually without notice, you have finished the book. I think that reading can be a very enjoyable activity, but some people just do not want to read, there can be many different reasons why they do not want to read, although I personally think that the main reasons can be lack of free time or being forced to read, which makes it very difficult to pick up a book. I think that the printed word will never die because there is something about printed books that just invites you to read them and doesn't let you put the book away until you have finished it. One reason why is good live in Estonia

I'm here to talk about one reason why is good live in Estonia. Estonia is a state in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. Estonia is a very beautiful country because of its versatility. I can read a lot of reasons for living here. We have a very beautiful nature, which will take many speechless. We have also a lack of mineral resources, which is very important to us. These reasons may be very much to read. Each person has their own reason why he likes to live in Estonia. For me personally the most important thing is our language. Estonian language have very many rules that make it very difficult to learn for some people. If leave those rules aside, is the Estonian language in terms of its sound very nice, that even many foreigners are admired that and are happy to listen it. Here I would like to ask, is the Estonian important for you? Rise your hand for whom it's important. Thank you, it's nice to know that someone still cares about the Estonian.

This led to a stint on the popular television comedy series, Not the Nine O'Clock News, for which he wrote and acted. For his performance in the comedy series, Atkinson personally won a British Academy Award and was named BBC Personality of the Year. Using this experience, Atkinson continued to work in television with Curtis, with whom he created the comedy series, Blackadder, in 1983. Playing a variety of Blackadder characters throughout England's history, the show became a favorite among the British and American audiences alike. Billed as a "situation tragedy" on the BBC, it ran three seasons and later spawned a couple of specials.

time they download it illegally. I obviously understand that it is illegal and we should not do it but the question is, should we be able to do it legally. To begin with, music is a big part of our lives. If children were not given the ability to cheer them up with music, the depression levels would definitely be higher, as well as less motivation in children. For an example, the average American child listens to 4 hours of music in a day. I personally listen to at least 5 hours of music a day and all that from the computer when I get home. Secondly, the artists would not have such big crowds at their shows and concerts. This way, the artists are getting more recognition and popularity. They are even getting more feedback, which songs people like more. Thirdly, downloading can lead to more purchases of CDs and such. Looks - how important

Looks how important? Look is quality, which guarantees us first impression of everything. If we can see a repulsive object, then we would not like to know more about it. Conversely looking object makes us feel different. Is look really so important? Why can´t we be ourselves although our look might be different from the view from the streets? I personally love to be myself. I love to feel comfort, that I create with clothes, that I wear. I get my hair cut if it limits my view. Although my thoughts I am pushed by my comrades. If I dressed in public as I dress at home, I would definitely be stared! I am not the one, who makes the rules, I follow them! My friends might still know who I really am, but making new friends is difficult or even impossible because of my own "freestyle". Taking care of look belongs to grown-up behavior

Firstly, I am not the kind of person whose glass is always half empty mine is half full but there are some negative aspects that disturb me . Furthermore, I would make the people understand not to throw their trash on the ground but to recycle everything. Make it so that it is illegal to trash and it is the law to recycle. So that eventually everyone would take trash personally. Secondly, When ever I turn on the television there are commercials after commercials. Everything is circling around profits these days. I would change that. I would not want to completely destroy money but to have it as an utility that everyone has. Moreover, people would take pride in producing earth friendly high quality items. Not because of money but because it brings them joy. Thirdly, children are forgetting to respect their parents. It is important to listen and

Last of all, there are some dangers connected with country life such as heavy snowfall or rainfall. To sum up, I think that living in a city would be easier and more comfortable, but living in a countryside is definately better if you prefer peace and quiet. Why should tourists visit Estonia?

I belive there are many cities in Estonia that are worth visiting. Most tourists come to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, and they don`t go any further than that . It may be because they don`t know where to go and what possibilities are there for them. Others how-ever try to avoid the capitals when-ever travelling. For them going to the countryside is the best way to relax and to get to know the real living standards. In conclusion I would like to say that I personally believe that people who have thought of coming to Estonia for a relaxing vacation with their family should certainly do so. Sara Thomas is played by the charming Kate Beckinsale, who also played in an Oscar winning movie ,,Pearl harbor". For example when we look at a painting and all we can think about is to determine how much we can sell it for then obviously this is not an eye of a person enjoying art, but a brain of a businessman and one should be in an office instead of visiting and art gallery. Unfortunately, I personally tend to think that nowdays too many people are going in that way. I mean the way when you make a song within a day, sell it for billions of dollars and all this ,,very hard work" just to get on the red carpet and live a fancy life. It is really annoying and disturbing, I compare it with throwing litter on the street. It just isn't the right place for it. Same thing is with modern art and critics nowdays. What is Identity theft Identity theft is defined as the deliberate use of someone else's identity, usually as a method to gain a financial advantage or obtain credit and other benefits in the other person's name, and perhaps to the other person's disadvantage or loss. The person whose identity has been assumed may suffer adverse consequences if they are held responsible for the perpetrator's actions. Identity theft occurs when someone uses another's personally identifying information, like their name, identifying number, or credit card number, without their permission, to commit fraud or other crimes.[1] Criminals can even use seemingly harmless pieces of information, such as your date of birth, to commit identity theft. [2] The different types of identity theft The Identity Theft Resource Centre sub-divides identity theft into six different categories.[3]

The word processing software is not perfect and often misses mistakes that we over look and assume have been corrected. Personally, I struggle with this and tend not to proof read as carefully as I should. Another problem is when you are writing on paper and use improper grammar and misspell words there is nothing there to remind you of your mistakes but yourself. Whenever I write by hand I have to think a lot harder about how to spell certain words. I notice that my friends also do the same thing and we have to ask each other how words are spelt or if sentences make sense

I have always known that I want to engage oneself with science. I am interested in how different things react with each other, their influence on human and realised that I can find all these in food science and nutrition. Nowadays people try to improve their food excesses, however, they do this incorrectly. People restrict themselves in food, but in such a manner they are depriving themselves of the important components necessary for the efficiency of the body. Personally, I faced with such diseases and it was hard enough to deal with this by myself. In order to return a healthy appetite, I read a lot of literature but was not sure that I would find the correct way to restore health. That`s why, I want to study Nutrition and Food Science course. I desire to help people cope with eating diseases and find out more about healthy eating, explore the foundations of human nutrition, food science and safety. My favourite subjects at school are Chemistry and Biology

The value of things VS the price of things

to be shared and used wisely. Value doesn’t have to be always pricey, mean something or be a part of some kind of a memory, normal things daily can have a value, a car is an example. People need it to drive to work everyday in their normal lives, plates have some value, knifes, forks. Just because people aren't willing to directly pay cash for something does not necessarily mean they don't "find value" in it. For instance, when was the last time you personally chipped in for a clinical trial? And how are you paying for that air you're breathing right now? Some benefits are assumed to be part of the environment in which we exist. That's what it means to have an environment. If a benefit grows scarce to the point that people feel they must directly pay cash from their pocket to keep getting it, there's probably a far more dire calamity at hand than that single point of scarcity. Most people will almost always seek other free sources of a benefit first

Pride and Prejudice Book report

Bingley, who rents a large house so he can spend the summer in the country. Mr Bingley brings with him his sister and the dashing but proud Mr Darcy, who is the main male protagonist. Darcy is the wealthy owner of an estate in Derbyshire. He is handsome and intelliigent, but judgmental and concerned with social status. Soon there was a public ball in the village of Meryton, where Mr. Bingley demonstrates his admiration for Jane Bennet. Jane falls in love with him. I personally like the couplet, because they are quite open-minded to each other and they are more drollier than Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth. At first Darcy finds Elizabeth tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt him, but as the plot evolves Darcy begins to admire her, though Elizabeth dislikes him. Mr.Collins arrives for a visit to the estate in order to marry. He asks Elizabeth, who refuses him. Collins marries Charlotte Lucas. Lizzie is disappointed in Charlotte

inspections of their own, and have confirmed that these are not isolated instances but indications of generally unsatisfactory work. Frequent complaints have been made to the Autocheck Manager and he has had ample opportunity to explain the deterioration in the quality of Autocheck's services. However, he has failed to reply to our letters (copies of these are attached) and whenever one of our representatives attempts to contact him, either personally or by telephone, he is always unavailable. In view of this, it is recommended that the contract with AMC should be examined and that the legal department should be asked what action can be taken against them. Discussion 1 You will probably notice quickly the first two changes that the secretary made. 1 Subject Heading By adding the word deterioration at the beginning of the subject heading, she made it a much more precise and accurate summary of the topic of the report.

with their work.  It could be the young man in p1 is the leader of the team or he has succeeded in some sort of individual field. Anyway, judging by his expression, I must say that he is very proud of himself. I would guess that the students in p2 are taking a maths exam as I can see calculators on each desk. The fact that they look so serious makes me believe the problems to solve are really challenging.  I personally like picture 1 better as I would like to be as happy as he is. MONOLOGUE Some people say that being away from friends makes your friendship stronger. Why do you think they say that? Do you agree? Give reasons. Introduce your monologue and rephrase the statement. It sometimes happens that good friends move away. It might be because of moving house, changing school or for family reasons. There are people who believe it doesn’t

A lamb to the slaughter

" The man turned and reached up behind him on the shelf for the peas. "Patrick's decided he's tired and doesn't want to eat out tonight," she told him. "We usually go out Thursdays, you know, and now he's caught me without any vegetables in the house." "Then how about meat, Mrs. Maloney?" "No, I've got meat, thanks. I got a nice leg of lamb from the freezer." "Oh." "I don't know much like cooking it frozen, Sam, but I'm taking a chance on it this time. You think it'll be all right?" "Personally," the grocer said, "I don't believe it makes any difference. You want these Idaho potatoes?" "Oh yes, that'll be fine. Two of those." "Anything else?" The grocer cocked his head on one side, looking at her pleasantly. "How about afterwards? What you going to give him for afterwards?" "Well - what would you suggest, Sam?" The man glanced around his shop. "How about a nice big slice of cheesecake? I know he likes that." "Perfect," she said. "He loves it."

Positive sides of outdoor learning

Todays increasing environmental problems obligates everyone to take responsibility. Students often come across the phrases "recycle" or "reduction of pollution", but not always is the background nor the causes explained thoroughly. Students cannot develop their environmental disposition without effective, meaningful teaching, that outdoor education provides. Teachers can and should give students deeper knowledge about natural resources and how exactly their deficiency will affect them personally. Direct contact is the best way to learn. Outdoor education is necessary to encourage students to become good stewards and to think globally but act locally regarding the environment and environmental issues. Also, outdoor education is not only important to raise environmentally responsible citizens, but to have positive impact on student's development. Several studies are claiming that students who participate in outdoor education have rising trends in self-esteem, linguistic

Houses of parliament

Westminster, while the commons met in St. Stephen's Chapel. Ever since these early times, the Palace of Westminster has been home to the English Parliament. In 1834 there was a huge fire that destroyed much of the old palace. All that remained was the chapel crypt, The Jewel Tower and Westminster Hall. It was Lord Melbourne, the Prime Minister, who saved the great hall by arranging for the fire engines to be brought right into the hall and personally supervising the fire fighting operation. The magnificent Gothic Revival masterpiece you see today was built between 1840 and 1888, this was the work of Charles Barry who designed the buildings to blend with nearby Westminster Abbey. The two imposing towers, well known landmarks in London, are the clock tower, named after it's bell called Big Ben, and Victoria tower, on whose flag pole the Union Jack flies when parliament is sitting.

"Marketing"

persuasive selling, no-pressure selling, targeted selling, but all of them amount to the same thing in the end; selling is the art of persuading the consumer that buying the product or service will benefit him or her. Whatever product or service you're selling, then, you need to focus your selling efforts on communicating the benefits of your product or service to the consumer. The benefits may be tangible or intangible, but unless the individual consumer is convinced that he or she will personally experience the benefits, your product or service won't sell. Think about it. Why do women smear color on their eyelids? Did anyone in the entire world ever actually need a hula hoop? That's the art of selling.

the bird and with that they gave credit to the bird's skills. What was very interesting was that the use of words in the two poems was, in my opinion, quite similar. They both used the words madness and joyful to describe the birds singing. The characteristics of a romantic poem were also the same. Both of them had nature in them for example in the form of the bird. They idealised the bird's skills and described its singing as a work of art. In short both poems were very good but I personally liked Shelley's more because it helped me create a better picture of how special the bird really was. Wordsworth's poem was a bit too blunt for me. Even though I usually dislike long descriptions, in this case they made the poem better.

The prologue also explains that the lovers' tragic suicides "[bury] their parents' strife." R & J are star-crossed lovers it means, that they can never be happy together and they rather die before they live without each other. The action starts with a street-battle between the two families, started by their servants and put down by the Prince of Verona, Escalus. The Prince declares that the heads of the two families (known simply as "Montague" and "Capulet") will be held personally accountable for any further breach of the peace, and disperses the crowd. Count Paris, a young nobleman, talks to Capulet about marrying his thirteen-year-old daughter, Juliet. Capulet demurs, because his is in daughter tender age, but he invites him to attract attention of Juliet during the ball. Meanwhile Juliet's mother tries to persuade her young daughter to accept Paris' wooing during their coming ball. Juliet is not inspired by the
