My ideal school. My ideal school would be communication-based, blending aspects of social work, conflict resolution, team building, and traditional learning. Classes would be limited to fifteen students, a size small enough to allow individual attention but large enough to furnish the feeling of belonging to a group. Creative projects would be the cornerstone of the curriculum, incorporating all the life skills that make this method of education unique. The class would be presented with a number of ideas at the beginning of each project, and would also have the option of coming up with their own idea. Some examples are raising money to donate to a charity, creating an anthology of short stories to be bound and published, starting a website, writing and recording an original song, and patenting a new idea. Because of the amount of coordination required for each project, both successes and failures would inevitably ...
My ideal school I've often wondered, what my ideal school would be like, but I haven't quite figured it out yet. I'm almost sure, that my ideal school would be near the forest. Students could go there and sit on benches to gather their energy. In the schoolyard, there would be big maple and oak trees and a lovely pond- what a nice place for a picnic on your break time! The lessons would take place in an old manor, where doors opening and closing by themselves wouldn't be anything unique. The classes would be small, but cosy and warm. We'd have a huge library with hundreds of old books. There would be a huge section only for romantic novels and books about love stories. The lessons would start at 9am. In my ideal school I'd have to study the average level of general subjects. There would also be certain amount of specialty studies, which I could be able to choose for myself. There wouldn't be to...
My ideal school I am sure everyone has their own idea of what an ideal school is.It is a place where you can feel comfortable to learn in. My ideal school would be situated in the middle of a city so it is near to shops, cinemas and theatres. Around the school would create running tracks, football places and facilities for every sport you could think of. There would also be a huge park for the pupils and public to enjoy together. Each classroom would be fitted with the most modern computers. Only twenty pupils would be in a lesson at one time so that the teachers could pay attention to each pupil. White boards and projectors would be available in every classroom. In my ideal school students would have large amount of technology. I would love for all students to have use the iPads. I think if students get to use something like the iPad it allows students to do work ...

24.03.09 The ideal school for my children The ideal school for my children would be communication-based, blending aspects of social work, conflict resolution, team building, and traditional learning. Classes would be limited to fifteen students, a size small enough to allow individual attention but large enough to furnish the feeling of belonging to a group. Dear Mrs. Smith, I hope that you don't mind me contacting you after such a long time. I also hope that you remember me as your student from high school. I am writing to ask your advice on my choice about continueing my studies. I have always wanted to be an artist, but my parents haven't approved my choice. I have a bachelor's degree in Mathematics. but the three years spent studying it, i have come to an understanding that this field of carreer is not for me. I wish to pursue my studies in the field of Fine Arts, but i don't want to upset my parents. I would very much appreciate your advice on this issue. Thank you for your time. Yours sincerely,
My best friend I have one best friend. Her name is Elen and we have known each other since we were 12 years old. We met with her in school in dance class about 14 years ago. If I were to describe how she looks, I would say she is very pretty. She has short brown hair, brown almond-shaped eyes, a small nose and a small pointed chin. She is not very tall but not short either and she is quite slim. She doesn't like to dress up so I usually see her wearing jeans and a T-shirt or sweater. It seems like she and I are always talking or laughing about something. She has a very nice personality and a wonderful sense of humor but she can also get a little depressed from time to time. I can always count on her to be honest and to give me the best advice. We are interested in many of the same hobbies. We both enjoy music, playing in computer games and surf in internet. We like going to the cinema but sometimes can't agree on which movie to see. Som...

The family was extremely excited that day. My parents had taken me to the mandir the previous day and my bag was packed with great care. I was to go to School for the first time in my life.I was six years old and I still remember the day I first went to school. My aunt came to drop me to my classroom and helped me to get familiar with my teacher and class. I hated the thought of being away from home for so many hours. Tears rolled down my checks as I got off the house and held my aunt’s hand.My aunt could sense my fear and tried to cheer me up . I fet a little better as I saw many other boys and girls entering the class where I had to go.my aunt left me in the classroom and drove to the house. I felt my heart sink as I saw go but I soon began to feel better.the times passed quickly and I started making new friends so I began loving the school. However even today, when I think of my first day at school 1 remember the fear that I had and ...
Freedom of speech Freedom of speech is a wide speared conception. I can understand it in many different ways. For example in my state, Estonia, the freedom is a very important for every human. At least to me it is seemed to be like that. But at school is a little bit sad story with freedom of speech. Some teachers are not used that student expresses her own strong opinion. When another way some teachers are just waitening it. As well as people can not speak along with state public topics and express their opinion. Therefore freedom of speech is debateable. Already from the old times Estonians have been fighting for their own freedom, because they do not like to allow to another country or state, foreign public and foreign language. Estonian public have been fighting with German, Russian and a lot of other states. Estonians has strongly tried to keep a...
About Myself From the very start I should say that it is not an easy thing to speak about myself as it is hard to have a look at yourself from aside, but at the same time who knows you better than you yourself do? I am a girl of sixteen. When I look at myself in the mirror I see a blond girl with short straight hair, dark eyes and slander figure. As to my appearance I'm rather tall and slim. I have never thought I'm a beauty I whish I were more beautiful. I think that I'm even tempered, rather reserved, calm and modest. But sometimes I can lose my tempo and become either angry or sad. I like staying alone and sometimes I retire into my shell. But at the same time I like my friends, I like to laugh and joke. I have got a sense of humour. It means I understand humour and appreciate it. There are many things in our life I like and some I dislike. I like when everything is OK. Being happy is one way of b...

Personal statement ,,Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage." - Ralph Waldo Emerson This quato, mentioned before, gives me confidence to do great things myself in life and pursue them into bigger ones one day ahead. In these moments i like to remember what Napoleon Hill once said: ,,If you can´t do great things, do small things in a great way." The things is, that everyone has to start somewhere, to find their own way in this life-that is the reason why i am writing this letter at this very moment, to let you know, that i am ready to make a change. To introduce myself, i would use one word-determined. I am 19 years old girl from Estonia and i live in two cities at the same time. During...
I think that one of the biggest mistakes I have recently made was that I did not do any revision before going to the entrance examinations to get into Hugo Treffner’s high school. It all started in February after I had submitted my request to Hugo Treffner’s high school’s entrance examinations. I promised to myself that I will spend at least half an hour a day to revise all the things I had learned in primary school. I had always dreamed of studying there. During the first week I could almost keep my promise and spent the time I wanted to spend on revising, but after that I got very lazy and did not keep up with my revising at all. So time went by and I did not worry at all about the entrance exams until the day they were already there. The examination took place in room 204. It lasted for 3 hours and I spent every last second of it, because it proved to be very difficult. A month later I received a letter from the school. The letter st...
Estonian teen How do you spend your free time? I’m usually quite busy after school. I go to my home eat and study for a while. Then I’m going to my training lesson every weekday and when it’s finished the time is half past seven and I have to finish my studying. I’m usually don’t have much free time. What do you like / dislike about living in Võru? I like Võru because it is a small city and the traffic is very light. I don’t have to walk very long to get one place to another. Do you get any pocket money? Yes, I have 10 euros for a month. I use it mostly to buy sweets because I love different sweats. What do you argue with your parent about most? I don’t argue with my parents lot. When I argue then mostly about how much do I have to study and why I don’t take school a much more serious. I really don’t have any reasons to argue with my parents because I like following rules. How is school life for ...
Estonian teen How do you spend your free time? I'm pretty busy. Every day, I have music school, choir, or basketball training. I have been going to music school for seven years, and I'm going to graduate this spring. I have been going to basketball training for two years. I unfortunately can't go there very often because of music studies. When I'm home, I usually spend my free time on the computer or playing the guitar. What do you like / dislike about living in Võru? I can't tell anything which I particularly do not like. This year I don't like that the school has been moved to another building, which doubles the distance between my home and school. I like that Võru is such a small and quiet town, which makes it nice and secure to live in. Do you get any pocket money? I don't get any certain amount of pocket money. When I need to buy something or just want money, I ask my parents. Of course, I have mo...
School Uniform is a bad thing To start with, school uniforms have many good sides for students. However, uniforms also have bad sides which are particulary involved with financial problems. Each and every person in the world is different, and by making people dress the same, they can't express themselves fairly the way that they would like to. Having school uniforms is not necessary, and there are many reasons to prove it. Some people say that wearing a school uniform stop the bullying, because all children wear the same clothes. But it's not true - the bullys and other evil student will always find another reason to make somebody feel bad - like glasses, pimples or overweight. Second reason that schools have school uniforms is because of the gangs. They believe, when all of the children wear the same clothes, they will not have any gangs. But students communicate with each o...
To: Ms Head teacher From: Iti Tomingas-Oras Subject: Helping the environment Date: 6th September Introduction The Pupose of this report is to present my findings about heping the enviroment in our school. I have carried out a survey among the students at Kose Gymnasium. My findings are presented below. Findings The first thing students thought was that our school is using and wasting paper. Theatchers do not use both sides of paper while printing. Secondly the students have noticed that the computers are not always turned off at end of the day. They take a lot of power and waste energy if they are turned on overnight. The tird thing I found out is that our school does not recycle and reuse enouhg which is also bad influence for the environment. Reccomendations Firstly, I would like to suggest to reduce paper. For example send more emails or if the printing is really nessesary use both sided of the paper. Secondly I reccomend tuni...
Teacher's questions FAMILY, HOME AND EVERYDAY LIFE 1. What colours do you like? Why? I like many colours. Coloured things are more interesting than monochrome things. But I have got my favourite colour. My favourite colour is pink. I like yellow and orange too. These colours are quite womanly. I don't like dark colours. Dark colours are too dark for me. 2. What do you think of the colour scheme of your school? I think that my school is beautiful. My school has got quite good look. In the outside the school is light. But in the inside the schoolrooms are quite colourful. I don't like the gym colour scheme. I think that pink and blue are not very good choice. I think that it's quite funny. But other rooms are in normal colours. 3. If money where not a problem, what would your future home look like? There will be many changes in my home look. Mostly I will enlarge the rooms. I need more livi...
Hi, my name is Elsa Clay and I studied at an all-girls Catholic high school .And here are some answers to the questions about my school. First, yes, we wear uniforms what consist of button-down blue or white blouses or polo shirts and a pleated blue and green plaid skirt. At our school we do not wear a miniskirt teamed with thigh-high socks, pink lipstick and a bare midriff. But we do have casual days when we can dress down at least once a month. Sometimes some of us are barley recognizable without uniform. Second, no boys in our school, and it's a relief not having to deal with the distractions during class time. There are two all-boys school in neighborhood and they hold open dances that are great for checking out prospective prom dates. Third, girls sports are extremely popular in our school. When our school plays another at basketball, our tiny gym is packed with crazy fans cheering on their classmates. Fourthly, here you're ...
10 days of my life Personal diary Student:Anton Stseglakov Teacher:Evelin Pähn School:Haapsalu Gümnaasium Grade:10b Haapsalu 2008 First snow in 2008-23 november On 23 November the first snow of year 2008 was falling down from the sky all day long. Snowdrift was caused by strong wind, and it was very interesting to look how everything was going white. It had been a long time since I saw snow, so I was looking forward to see it.But I didn't expect it to come down in such huge quantity. I could sit behind the window for hours, observing the power of nature. It made me forget everything negative I felt that time and gave me an unforgetable memorial. How I take attending school seriously School is a place where every child has to go. It is so because that is the starting point of our education. Without it you would be sust another person in this world because you woun ´t have anything to do especially nowadays. Knowledge is everything. So if we woun´t go to school there is no way to get a step further. I am going to write why I take attending school seriously. First of all I think that when we woun´t go to school for a long periood, it is almost certain that we would be in trouble. If you have been absent for a couple of weeks then it will be very difficult to get all tests and homework done. Firstly you may not know anything about the things that are asked from you. Secondly, some people are sust too lazy to do the tests and because of that students will have very bad marks. If they are unlucky they also must go to school in summer because they have too many things ...
Minu plaanid tulevikuks Nüüdseks olen juba kaheksa aastat käinud Maidla põhikoolis, üheksas aasta on hetkel käsil. Nende kaheksa aastaga on palju juhtunud, palju asju on selgemaks saanud. Viieteistkümne aastapärast on mul kolm imearmsat last. Põhitööna kirjutan ma "USA Today"-le, "The Wall Street Journal" ja "The New York Times"-ile.
My Dreams for the Future I don't have many plans for my future, but I would like to go to college. My mom says I should be a computer programmer. So that's probably the most preferred future plan. If I had enough money I would go somewhere warm and forget all my future plans, but until I haven't won a lottery I am trying to finish high school. I will have finished this school by the year 2011. My most desired future job is related to computers. After high school I would like to go to Estonian IT College to study about computers software, so I could work as a computer software developer. I am interested in technology, that's why it would be perfect job for the future. Software developer is a highly paid job so I'm kind of hoping that by the year 2020 I'll be a millionaire. I would like to live in Italy by the time I'm 30. By that time I would like to be married with the world's most bea...
I wake up at seven, and head to the bathroom to take a shower and wash my teeth. Riietumine takes me approximately 5 minutes. At 7:20 I make myself breakfast and eat it. I exit my apartement at 7:45 sharp and head to the bus stop. The bus leaves at 7:51 and reaches the school at 8:00. I study at school for about 6 hours and have lunch between the second and third lesson in the school cafeteria. After school I go to the gym and work out for 2 hours and at 19:45 I rush to work for a night shift that ends at 5 o'clock in the morning. I have dinner at my workplace and I go to sleep at 5:30 o'clock in the morning. . 5 . 7:20 . 7:45 . 7:51 8:00. 6 . 2 , 19:45 , 5 . , 5:30 .

To Be Human Is To Discuss Why My Speech Is So Short Most of the students complain about their timetable. Usually they are just fine, but the grass is always greener somewhere else, am I right? But for me and my class, it's a different story. The grass really is greener anywhere else, actually. Why do we go to school? Do we actually want to learn? I think not. Maybe on some level, until fourth grade or something like that, but most of us are in high school to get good grades, so that parents don't kick us out and still give us food and shelter. How to motivate ourselves to come here every single morning and really study, not just sit with your phone out and watch videos or do something not related to studying to keep from dying of boredom? I think that the main reason students skip class is that they just don't want to sit around for 45 minutes. Another re...
British Cuisine Some people criticize English food. They say it's unimaginable, boring, tasteless, it's chips with everything and totally overcooked vegetables. The basic ingredients, when fresh, are so full of flavour that British haven't had to invent sauces to disguise their natural taste. What can compare with fresh pees or new potatoes just boiled and served with butter? Why drown spring lamb in wine or cream and spices, when with just one or two herbs it is absolutely delicious? If you ask foreigners to name some typically English dishes, they will probably say "Fish and chips" then stop. It is disappointing, but true that, there is no tradition in England of eating in restaurants, because the food doesn't lend itself to such preparation. English cooking is found at home. So it is difficult to a good English restaurant with a reasonable prices. In most cities in Britain you'll find Indian, Chinese, French and Italian r...
My future career. I often think about my future plans and career. Now I am studying at the secondary school. But after finishing school I try to enter at the university. It is very difficult for me to make the right choice of my future profession. There are many different professions and you can find exactly that which interests you. For example, waiter, manager, actress, lawyer, doctor and so on. To decide, what kind of work suits me, helps communication with adults, meetings with representatives of universities and large selection of useful literature. Also I need to think about how well I can do what I would like to do. In my opinion, very interesting and noble profession is a doctor. I understand that it is necessary to study a lot to become a doctor. You must have good knowledge of biology, chemistry and mathematics. I realize that I should know the foreign languages too. Of course, much will depend from my exams result. So now ...
A Computer in my life. I can call myself a computer addict, because I spend many hours every day sitting behind the computer, most of my entertainment is connected with my computer. Like games, music, videos, movies, social networks and news. I used to have PC, but in September I bought myself a laptop. It's powerful, beautiful, it doesn't make much noise and it's quite easy to carry around. I use it to play games, study, watch movies, listen to music and the most important to connect with my friends. I rarely have problems with my computer. I'm an advanced user and I don't get viruses while surfing the net. After graduating high school, I'm thinking of buying tablet PC, because it's even more comfortable to use when you're on the move. Sometimes when I wake up early, I open my laptop, visit my webpages and then read news. After school, first thing I do, when I get home, I open...
Why I came to study English Why I came to study English? Seems like a simple question, but it certainly made me think about it. Some of my friends have even said that majoring in English seems so boring and they constantly bombard me with questions about my future. That made me think about how exactly did I end up studying English? First of all, as a kid, I was so sure I would be a hairdresser or a teacher or a cook in the future. I am sure that almost every kid thinks the same, when all they have for inspiration are cartoons and toys to play with. When I started school, I was very interested in mathematics and other subjects that required logical thinking, because apparently I was smart in that area at the time. Up until 6th grade I was the best student in our class, winning mathematic competitions left and right and not only that. By that time I had also found out that I loved to write, specially po...
My Children Deserve the Best Childhood Ever Hi! I am 35 years old. I live with my husband and we have two kids: Oliver and Merilin. Oliver is 10 years old and Merilin is 7 years old. Before getting these two kids, me and my husband used to live in a flat in the centre of the city. But when I get pregnant for the first time, we decided to move in a house in Nõmme. It's a beautiful place to live. My favourite, because I lived there when I was younger. It's also nice that we have a big backyard where our children can play and just spend time. Me and my husband can also spend good time there. We usually grill there or have parties with our friends. When Oliver and Merilin were young, about 2 years old, I never scream when they did something wrong because they're only children, they don't know anything about life and doing something right or wrong yet. When they grew up, went to school and sometimes got bad...

Future career Around the world there are so many different peole who do different jobs. My mother works in a hospital. She's a nurse of extraordinary medicine. She loves her job, because she thinks it's interesting to help all these people. She has also worked in a bank and when she was younger she was a secretary. When she graduated high school she wanted to become a stewardess, but life went the other way. My father works in Finland. He is a builder. Sometimes he is abroad for several months. He worked couple of years ago at the same hospital where my mother works. He was an ambulance driver. i can't say that some jobs are unnecessary or pointless, but i can say what jobs i don't like. I think i don't want to become a doctor or even a nurse, because i don't stand blood. In the future i want to become a teacher. I want to teach Estionian language or literature to high school students. To become...
The School I come from The school I come from, is named Anna Haava nimeline Pala school and there learns a little bit less than 100 students, I learned there from 7-9 grade. I started learning English in third grade and if I remember correctly then our teachers name was Reet Ernits but she is not the only who has taught me English So far I have had five teachers (not including my current teacher), who all have been very different but they had one thing in common, they all used I love English books. With my first teacher we wrote down lots of rules about grammar and other stuff like that but I did not understand them so for me it was more like a waste of time. With my second, third and fourth teacher I met in Jõhvi High school and they all were not good teachers because they did not want to teach us, during their lessons half of the class just played with their phones and other half of the class tried t...
