Auld lang syne

Auld Lang Syne Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind ? Should old acquaintance be forgot, and old lang syne ? CHORUS: For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we'll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne. And surely you'll buy your pint cup ! and surely I'll buy mine ! And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet, for auld lang syne. CHORUS We two have run about the slopes, and picked the daisies fine ; But we've wandered many a weary foot, since auld lang syne. CHORUS We two have paddled in the stream, from morning sun till dine ; But seas between us broad have roared since auld lang syne. CHORUS And there's a hand my trusty friend ! And give us a hand o' thine ! And we'll take a right good-will draught, for auld lang syne. CHORUS

Nimetu

Liis Naptal 11A Describing a person Liivia is my aunt. She is also a good friend of mine. I have known her all my life and we know a lot of each other. That is her kindness that has attracted me. Most people would say that she is very pretty. I think they are right. She is not very tall, I would rather say she is of medium height. She has a good figure. That means she is slender and athletic. She is in her twenties but looks exactly like an eighteen year old. Grace is a very attractive, thin-faced and rosy-cheeked girl. I do not know how it is possible in Estonia but she always seems to rather tanned. Liivia`s hair is a bit wavy, very

Essee "Homelessness"

We live in a cruel world where people only think about themselves. There are extremely few people who care about homeless people even though homelessness has greatly increased over the past decade. But why is that so? Are they worse than us? As Mike Yakonski once said: “Sometimes it's easy to walk by because we know we can't change someone's whole life in a single afternoon. But what we fail to realize it that simple kindness can go a long way toward encouraging someone who is stuck in a desolate place.” I can relate to that fairly well because everyday i see homeless people and it makes me extremely sad. When i got a spare change with me i always give it to the ones that need it the most, because i think it is the only thing at the moment that i can do for homeless people. The reasons people lose their home are mostly addictions, losing their job, expelled from school or even family problems. If they have already lost everything, mos...

That women gets all main character problems and it seems that they need each other to survive in this horribel world. I like that book because it taught me that every man can enjoy life even if her lovelife is not so well, he have no friends or family. You can still live life at your fullest and by that maybe see your other sides, not bad sides but good. We all have to find ourselfs some time. The main character finds love and kindness, finds enjoy and happiness (he did not smiled often, as usually people used to). He finds friend who he can relate to. Book have much budism thought and tells you, if all does not go well, then do not give up. I recommend this book to anyone, this book can motivate people and can help them at their darkest times I hope. MEANINGFUL ENDING LIKE EVERY BOOK HAS IT Book is something that give you new thought, new experience and new side of view of things

Report for Pride and Prejudice

vivid and believable. The book is both humorous and deeply serious. Humour can be found everywhere in the book, in it's character descriptions, imagery, but mostly in it's conversations between characters. The strengths of the book are the descriptions of the personalities, dialogues and nature, which give a really good overview. The book also shows that while men and women often think too highly of themselves, deceive or flatter others, and act stupidly, they are also capable of love, kindness, and moral growth. It criticizes the way that economic and class stations restricted women. One of the biggest weaknesses of the book is, that it is a bit slow-moving and tends to be a bit boring at times but the romantic nature of the story holds an everlasting appeal, making it a classic read. Conclusion In conclusion, I would like to say that the book was better than I had expected. I found it really interesting and gripping, on the other hand it was really moving

The Role of the Hippie Movement in 21st Century Britain

If I look at my friends and people I communicate, then many of them have the attitude “I don’t care” or the same “If it feels good, do it”. They don’t bother themselves with the opinions of others nor ask for the opinions of others. I can say that even I think kind of the same way. Why should I care about what someone thinks of me when I am happy the way I am? We all have only one life, so why not live this life to the fullest? Enjoy all the little things, show love and kindness, do good things and make your life the best it is in your opinion!

Reasons why human beings are unique

cooperate, humans will always help more. Children seem to be innate helpers. They act selflessly before social norms set in. Studies have shown that they will spontaneously open doors for adults and pick up "accidentally" dropped items. They will even stop playing to help. Their sense of fairness begins young. Even if an experiment is unfairly rigged so that one child receives more rewards, they will ensure a reward is fairly split. Children show 'proactive' kindness, unlike our close relatives (Credit: Thinkstock) Children show 'proactive' kindness, unlike our close relatives (Credit: Thinkstock) We know that chimpanzees also work together and share food in apparently unselfish ways. However, Michael Tomasello of the Max Planck institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, says they will only cooperate if there is something in it for them. "Humans do that too, but in addition they care about what their partner gets.

About myself

I usually did a lot of home preparation for them and I liked everything I was doing in them. I really tried hard in them. But despite my efforts I was not good at Math. School for me was not only lessons and learning I had a lot of friends there. We organized extra class activities such as parties and other social activities. I actively participated in most of them. I am sociable, so I have got a lot of friends among my schoolmates. As for me I appreciate people's hornesty, kindness, sense of justice and intelligence. I don't like when people are rude and aggressive. I am stubborn at times. But to my mind being persistent is not always a bad thing. It means my aim, I never leave things half done. At times I feel dissatisfied with myself, especially when I fail to do something or can't do things the way they should be done. At the same time I think I am hard working and diligent

Homereading - body language

Body language Body language means communication with the movement or position of the human body. It can be conscious or unconscious. It is something that is noticed by everybody but is not always given enough attention. We sometimes ignore it and try to hide behind words, but we should never forget that we cannot fool everyone! Children react to body language because they experience the world through intuition. The same can be true for adults when feelings are involved. People who are in bad shape emotionally will often place great importance in it. In fact, they often pick up the smallest hint of a lapse in attention in the person they are speaking to. And they frequently jump to the conclusion that they are boring or a nuisance - thus compounding any sense of depression or poor self-esteem. A way to learn the secrets of body language is to watch television with the sound turned off and...

MARIANE Exactly so. VALERE Of course it is; your heart Has never known true love for me. MARIANE Alas! You're free to think so, if you please. VALERE Yes, yes, I'm free to think so; and my outraged love May yet forestall you in your perfidy, And offer elsewhere both my heart and hand. MARIANE No doubt of it; the love your high deserts May win . . . VALERE Good Lord, have done with my deserts! I know I have but few, and you have proved it. But I may find more kindness in another; I know of someone, who'll not be ashamed To take your leavings, and make up my loss. MARIANE The loss is not so great; you'll easily Console yourself completely for this change. VALERE I'll try my best, that you may well believe. When we're forgotten by a woman's heart, Our pride is challenged; we, too, must forget; Or if we cannot, must at least pretend to. No other way can man such baseness prove, As be a lover scorned, and still in love. MARIANE

But since, as Plato has admirably expressed it, we are not born for ourselves alone, but our country claims a share of our being, and our friends a share; and since, as the Stoics hold, everything that the earth produces is created for man's use; and as men, too, are born for the sake of men, that they may be able mutually to help one another; in this direction we ought to follow Nature as our guide, to contribute to the general good by an interchange of acts of kindness, by giving and receiving, and thus by our skill, our industry, and our talents to cement human society more closely together, man to man. The foundation of justice, moreover, is good_faith; -- that is, truth and fidelity to promises and agreements. And therefore we may follow the Stoics, who diligently investigate the etymology of words; and we may accept their statement that "good faith" is so called because

throughout. A dark and complex novel, it centres on Matty - introduced in chapter one as a naked child emerging horribly disfigured from a bomb explosion during the London Blitz in World War II. He becomes a ward of the state and is put into a Catholic boarding school, where he is shunned by the other children and sexually abused by one of his teachers, Mr. Pedigree. When he grows up, however, his selfless kindness and mysterious persona attract a devoted following of people who believe him to be a saint. The second part of the book is centered on two twins, Toni and Sophy, from the point of view of Sophy. Their story starts from their childhood, when they are around 10 years old, and follows their growth as they become young adults. The recurring theme in these two stories is madness, Matty being split between his two faces, and Sophy being schizoid as she is split between her and her sister.

She arrives at the transfer station and there receives a note from Vronsky apologizing and explaining that he didn't receive her note. Despite his kindness, she is infuriated. The only thing on her mind is punishing Vronsky for these supposed infidelities. She bends down to the tracks, so a train car can run over her body. being, of alive peace, even though it may be subtle. The intensity will vary from a perhaps barely noticeable background sense of contentment to what the ancient sages of India called ananda – the bliss of Being. Because you have been conditioned to pay attention only to form, you are probably not aware of it except indirectly. For example, there is a common element in the ability to see beauty, to appreciate simple things, to enjoy your own company, or to relate to other people with loving kindness. This common element is a sense of contentment, peace, and aliveness that is the invisible background without which these experiences would not be possible. Whenever there is beauty, kindness, the recognition of the goodness of simple things in your life, look for the background to that experience within yourself. But don't look for it as if you were looking for something. You cannot pin it down and say, “Now I have it,” or grasp it mentally and define it in some way

Nowadays the gift is as likely to be a computer code as the key to a dragon's lair.
