Each of the 5 Ps stands for a different approach to strategy: 1. Plan. 2. Ploy. 3. Pattern. 4. Position. 5. Perspective. As a Plan, strategy needs to be developed in advance and with purpose. As a Ploy, strategy is a means of outsmarting the competition. With strategy as a Pattern, we learn to appreciate that what was successful in the past can lead to success in the future.

Integration of Lean Con. and Building Information Modelling

construction industry using a summary of the research compiled by the author of this thesis. Chapter 3 investigates LC, its concept, principles and the tools that make it possible to address the problems raised in the second chapter. Chapter 4 discusses what BIM is and what is needed for its implementation. Chapter 5 investigates the question of whether a synergy exists between these two models analysed in the second and third chapter and the question of what form it would take. Afterwards, one particular example of the integration of LC and BIM, the IPD model, is discussed. This is supported by the Crusell Bridge case study and a discussion of the authors ideas. Chapter 6, conclusions are drawn and the questions outlined in chapter 1 are answered. 1.4 Abbreviations 4D- 3D CAD + time IPD- Integrated Project Delivery 5D- 4D CAD + money LC- Lean Construction

Introduction of SCM

Supply chains exist in both service and manufacturing organizations, although the complexity of the chain may vary greatly from industry to industry and firm to firm. Unlike commercial manufacturing supplies, services such as clinical supplies planning are very dynamic and can often have last minute changes. Availability of patient kit when patient arrives at investigator site is very important for clinical trial success. This results in overproduction of drug products to take care of last minute change in demand. R&D manufacturing is very expensive and overproduction of patient kits adds significant cost to the total cost of clinical trials. An integrated supply chain can reduce the overproduction of drug products by efficient demand management, planning, and inventory management. Traditionally, marketing, distribution, planning, manufacturing, and the purchasing organizations along the supply chain operated independently.

Before final integration, only documents have been produced. •Late deployment hides many lurking risks: –technological (well, I thought they would work together...) –conceptual (well, I thought that's what they wanted...) –personnel (took so long, half the team left) –User doesn't get to see anything real until the very end, and they always hateit. –System Testing doesn't get involved until later in the process. Cost Accounting notes

Journal entries - page 238 Benchmarking is the continuous process of comparing the levels of performance in producing products and services and executing activities against the best levels of performance in competing companies or in companies having similar process. A standard cost is a carefully determined cost used to benchmark for judging performance. The purposes of a standard cost are to exclude part inefficiencies and to take into account changes expected to occur in the budget period. Managers use variances for control, decision implementation, performance evaluation, organization learning and continuous improvement. Chapter 8 - Flexible budgets, overhead cost variances, management control Standard costing is a costing system that traces direct costs to output produced by multiplying the standard prices or rates by the standard quantities of inputs allowed for

Thesis Kivimaa August 2022

” Kristjan Kivimaa August 2022 1 Abstract In IT Security world, there is lack of available, reliable systems for measuring security levels/posture. They lack the range of quantitative measurements and easy and fast deployment, and potentially affects companies of all sizes. Readily available security standards provide qualitative security levels, but not quantitative results – that would be easily comparable. This deficiency makes it hard for companies to evaluate their security posture accurately. Absence of security metrics makes it complicated for customers to select the appropriate measures for particular security level needed. The research question for this research project is – “How is it possible to calculate IT security effectiveness?”. The aim of this research is to use this reference model to calculate and to optimize major
