Tondisaar and Pähksaar are permanent islands while Ainsaar turns into a peninsula during low water, and Heinassaar is flooded in high water periods. The shores of Võrtsjarv are mostly low: swampy in the southern part, and sandy in the northern part; the eastern shore is higher. Despite its large surface area, the lake is shallow. It was the time when twelve western states from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean established the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) on 4 April 1949. NATO was founded to balance out a threat coming from the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Treaty. Since 1944,the western part of Setomaa belongs to the Republic of Estonia and the eastern part to the Russian Federation. This kind of division is the source of the Setos' burning problems: the split-up congregations, location of properties and relatives on the other side of the state border. The Setos have preserved their original dialect, skills of cooking their traditional food, their beautiful and peculiar folk costumes. Estonian War of Independence During World War I the greatest colonial power in Europe the Russian Empire seized to exist. On its ruins the formerly enchained nations founded their own states. Among them was the Estonian Republic, officially declared on February 24, 1918. When Germany surrendered to the Western Allies on November 11, 1918 a strategic vacuum arose in Eastern Europe. The new rulers of Russia the Bolsheviks decided to use it as a proper moment to re-conquer their lost territories. The ultimate goal was international communist revolution and Germany was the first standing on their way. Thus on November 13, 1918 the Government of Soviet Russia denounced peace with Germany. On November 16 the Commander-in-Chief of the Red Army, Jukums Vacietis, gave orders to start a massive attack on a long front from the Gulf of Finland to the Ukraine.

The area was inhabited by many indigenous tribes before the arrival of traders, explorers and settlers. · The Oregon Territory was created in 1848 after American settlement began in earnest in the 1840s. Oregon became a state (33rd) on February 14, 1859. · Oregon enjoys a diverse landscape including a scenic and windswept Pacific coastline, the volcanoes of a rugged and glaciated Cascade Mountain Range, dense evergreen forests, and high desert across much of the eastern portion of the state. · The towering Douglas firs and redwoods along the rainy Western Oregon coast provide a dramatic contrast with the lower density and fire prone pine tree and juniper forests covering portions of the Eastern half of the state. The eastern portion of the state also includes semiarid scrublands, prairies, deserts, and meadows. These drier areas stretch east from Central Oregon. Geography The name Australia means ,,southland". It is both a country and a continent, with an area of 7,617,930 square kilometres and it is also an island, separated from Asia by the Arafura and Timor seas. But Australia is also surrounded by the Indian and Pacific oceans. The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef. It lies off the north-eastern coast and extends for over 2000 kilometres. The famous mountain range in the eastern part of Australia is the Great Diving Range and it's highest peak is Mount Kasciusco's 2230m. In the continental part, there are the Macdonnell ranges. Other smaller mountain ranges are the Musgrave Mountains, the Hammessley Mountains and the Darling Mountains. The continental part of Australia is mostly covered with deserts and these deserts are the Great Sandy Desert in the north-western part, the Great Victoria dessert in the southern part and Gibson desert and the Simpson desert

Broadway was originally the Wickquasgeck Trail, carved into the brush of Manhattan by its Native American inhabitants. This trail originally snaked through swamps and rocks along the length of Manhattan Island. In the 18th century, Broadway ended at the town commons north of Wall Street, where traffic continued up the East Side of the island via Eastern Post Road and the West Side via Bloomingdale Road. Among scientists and aquarists, clownfish are also known as anemone fish because they can't survive without a host anemone, whose stinging tentacles protect them and their developing eggs from intruders. It's still a mystery exactly how a clownfish avoids being stung by the anemone. Of the roughly thousand species of anemones, only ten host clownfish.
