Church of St. Simeon and the Prophetess Hanna Nestled along a street near Tallinn Harbour is this fairytale, wooden church built in 1752 - 55 on the initiative of Russian sailors. St. Simeon's is the second Orthodox church to have sprung up as part of the suburban building boom that followed the Great Northern War. Since the coastline was considerably closer to the city in those days, the church was built practically on the edge of the water, and its foundation required some landfill. According to legend, rubble from shipwrecks was used for this purpose

Christopher Columbus claimed Jamaica for Spain after landing there in 1494. Columbus' probable landing point was Dry Harbour, now called Discovery Bay. The capital was moved to Spanish Town, now located in the parish of St. Catherine, as early as 1534. It was then called ,,Villa de la Vega". Good morning ladies and gentlemens, and welcome to Great Coastal Gate and Fat Margaret's Tower. Before we begin the tour, I`d like to tell you a little about their history. The Great Coastal Gate (Suur Rannavärav) was the most important gate in Tallinn. It was built as a defence on the seaward side of Tallinn, but also to impress visitors coming in from the sea. In the Middle Ages the Great Coastal Gate was about 300 footsteps from the harbour. Legends say, that during storms, the waves reached the gate. . In the 16th century, a powerful cannon tower was built next to the Great Coastal Gate. It had 155 loopholes, diameter of 25 meters, and a height of about 20 meters. The tower was named Roosikrantsi, but as it was the stoutest tower in the Wall, people started to call it "Fat Margaret". Through history, the cannon tower has also served as a storehouse for gunpowder and weapons, and as a prison.

I've been to abroad and I like travelling. Firstly I would like to go to America. If I had to choose, I'd probably go to San Francisco. There are a lot of sights: Golden Gate Bridge, the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, Alcatraz, City Hall, Chinatown, Museum of Modern Art and AT&T Park, where I could watch the baseball match of San Francisco Giants. Secondly I'd like to visit Australian city Sydney. I'd certainly go to the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Town Hall, Taronga Zoo and sunbathe on the beautiful beaches. My third and final choice is European city in Italy Venice. It's popular with its waterways. I'd like to travel along the Grand Canal by a Venetian boat called gondola. There are also other sights I'd like to see. For example the Salute, the Ponte dei Sospiri, often called the "Bridge of Sighs", Piazza San Marco and St Mark's Basilica. I find it fabulous to see the Carnival of Venice.

Two breakwaters with a total length of 5 km, each reaching about 2 km into the sea, were built in the mouth of the Pärnu River in 1863-1864. The breakwater on the left bank of the river has become the symbol of Pärnu. 1936 Ahto purjetab koos Margareti ja vend Jariiloga Eestist Ameerikasse. 5.oktoobril 1936 Kahemastiline jaht "Ahto" väljub Tallinnast LääneAafrika kaudu Ameerikasse, kust kavatses alustada ümbermaailmareisi. 2.nov 1938 asus "Ahto" ümbermaailmareisile pardal 19 inimest koos Ahto ja Margareti 14 kuu vanuse beebiga AhtoTheodor. 12.juuni 1939 jaht "Ahto" jõuab Austraaliasse Sydney'sse. 20.detsember 1939 jõutakse Kaplinna. 2.mail 1940 jõutakse tagasi New Yorki (Indian Harbour Yacht Club). mais 1972 Ahto külastab kodumaad. umbes 1982 sõitis Ahto üksinda St.Thomas'est (Kariibi meri) Austraaliasse. Seal kukkus jaht sadamas dokki tõstmisel puruks. 30.juunil 1991 Ahto Walter sureb St. Thomas'e saarel.

Today the tower tells the story of the birth and development of Tallinn and the most important military events from the 13th to the 18th centuries. The external wall still holds stone and iron cannonballs from Russian tsar Ivan IV. The Great Coastal Gate, built along with the city wall, is situated on the northern side of the Old Town, near the harbour. During the reconstruction of the gate in the early 16th century, the cannon tower Fat Margaret was added. The round tower, with 155 loopholes, a diameter of 25 meters, and a height of about 20 meters, was built to protect the harbour. It got its name from the fact that it was indeed the stoutest tower in the city wall. Through history, the cannon tower has also served as a storehouse for gunpowder and weapons, and as a prison. Fat Margaret now houses the Estonian Maritime Museum
