Terrorism and fighting against it

S. Congress. Their one act of violence influenced the U.S. decision to indicate the Marines from Beirut and it was therefore considered a terrorist success. There are three perspectives of terrorism: the terrorist's, the victim's, and the general public's. The phrase "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" is a view terrorists themselves would accept. Terrorists do not see themselves as evil. They believe they are rightful combatants, fighting for what they believe in, by whatever means possible. A victim of a terrorist act sees the terrorist as a criminal with no caring for human life. The general public's view is the most unstable. His sympathetic view of terrorism has become an integral part of their psychological warfare. Terrorism is a criminal act. So, whether the terrorist chooses to identify himself with military terminology, or with civilian term, he is a criminal either way.

Nobody can win a war

Nobody can win a war. People started to make a war thousands years ago. During this time they had different purposes, but the final was the same a war caused a great deal of sorrow. But is it worth fighting? Are there any winners or losers in war? Firstly, both sides get bored with a feud. It makes much money, physical and moral strength. Not only soldiers civilian population gets tired of being in a danger and worrying about relatives and friends. Secondly, the consequences of a war are horrible. Terrible memories would not leave people. Every time they recall those events, they suffer again because no one is able to make somebody happy fighting. Thirdly, a lot of people die

Chapter Thirteen – Newborn

These newborns destroyed each other as often as their targets, and had to be replaced. The other covens had to form their own newborn armies to counter Benito. The human population was also drastically reduced during the fighting, and eventually, the Volturi stepped in. The entire Volturi guard came from Italy and annihilated all the vampires found with newborns, virtually emptying the region of vampires for a time. The ones that survived began to stake claims again and the fighting resumed, though on a smaller scale. Newborn armies were again utilized, but with more care and control this time to avoid additional Volturi involvement. Jasper then tells Bella about becoming a confederate solider in Houston when he was 16 years old by claiming to be 20. Having the ability to sway others around him, and was promoted quickly through the ranks. By the time of the first battle of Galveston, he was made the youngest major in Texas at the age of 20

away from me when I need my space, but also when I need someone to talk to then I can just easily talk to her and I can trust her with my secrets. I know when I talk to her about some kind of problems she is always there for me and atleast tries to help me out even when there is nothing to help with. From time to time we fight but have you ever heard of sisters who don't have their differences but we resolve them quite fast that sometimes we even forget why we were fighting at the first place. I like the fact that she doesn't get angry when i borrow something of hers and the same goes vice versa. To be quite frank I adore my sister and sometimes even admire the things she is willing to do for me because sometimes I can really act nasty against her but as I said before we resolve our differences fast and the hate part just fades away. The fact that my sister is willing to take blame for something I've done and tries to protect me is the most heart touching

LETTER, ESSAY, REPORT

I would appreciate it if you could inform me as soon as possible. Yours sincerely, Mari Mets ESSAY 2010 Stress in the Life of Young People Today Stress is a natural part of young people's lives. Negative stress can affect people's ability to be positive. I'd probably agree with the statement. To begin with, one of the main sources of stress for young people today can be relationships with parents. Everybody knows that fighting with parents can affect ours ability to be positive. Moreover, parents are the closest persons in our lives and fighting with them break us. For instance, I am always so depressed after arguing with my mother, I do not want to hurt her feelings. In my view, young people should avoid fighting with parents to cope with this source of stress. Secondly, school is another main source of stress and can affect people's ability to be positive. Nowadays young people have so much to study in school

Mohammad Ali (inglise keeles)

Nicknamed "The Greatest", Ali was involved in several historic boxing matches. Notable among these are three with rival Joe Frazier and one with George Foreman, whom he beat by knockout to win the world heavyweight title for the second time. He suffered only five losses (four decisions and one TKO by retirement from the bout) with no draws in his career, while amassing 56 wins (37 knockouts and 19 decisions). How he became e cultural icon? Ali was well known for his unorthodox fighting style, which he described as "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee", and employing techniques such as the rope-a- dope. He was also known for his pre-match hype, where he would "trash talk" opponents on television and in person some time before the match, often with rhymes. These personality quips and idioms, along with an unorthodox fighting technique, made him a cultural icon. Later In later life, Ali developed Parkinson's disease.

Thesis Statement The Sorrows on Young Werther

His selfishness can be seen in two turning-points of the book, when Werther leaves Wahlheim and when he commits suicide. From his point of view these are the only solutions but he is not thinking about Lotte. Although she denies it Werther was much loved by her, he just did not try hard enough to win over her heart. Werther believes that the only way to end his sorrows is to commit suicide but he doesn't have enough positivity to keep on fighting for the love of his life. "Sometimes I don't understand how another can love her, is allowed to love her, since I love her so completely myself, so intensely, so fully, grasp nothing, know nothing, have nothing but her!" Example of how deep feelings Werther had for Lotte, but he left all his thoughts only for himself. Tähe-Kai Tillo

Three famous canadians

Jason Day (born May 19, 1981) is a Canadian mixed martial arts fighter born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and has fought for several MMA associations, including the Ultimate Fighting Championship, TKO Major League MMA, Rumble in the Cage, King of the Cage, and many others. He is also the former TKO Middleweight champion. He is one of the few practitioners of the Eddie Bravo "Rubber Guard" system in mixed martial arts, in which a fighter can avoid taking heavy damage when fighting from his back, by using his legs and arms to hold his opponent very close to him in order to stifle his attacks. This was demonstrated best in his fight against Alan Belcher in UFC 83. Day fought his second fight in the UFC on June 7, 2008 at UFC 85 in London. His opponent was Michael Bisping who defeated Day in the first round. Also on June 6, 2009 he showed another example of his training with Eddie Bravo when he defeated former olympian Trevor Stewardson via twister.

dissatisfaction leads to blame. Most victims of legal harassment will settle with money in order to avoid a lengthy and expensive trial. The defendant, however vast they may become, will be carried by his or her lawyer, working for a share of the profits. The ,,ambulance chasing" lawyers who are involved in this sort of legal chicanery get rich because when they win they can win simply billions. Innocent defendants know that they have a choice: they either spend years fighting the case or else they settle out of court. Many small businessmen have gone bust because they cannot afford the premiums they've been expected to pay. Public services have deteriorated still further as central and local governments are forced to spend an increasing amount of money and time fighting or settling legal battles brought by people who have seen a small piece of misfortune as an opportunity to get rich quick.

Freedom of speech

At least to me it is seemed to be like that. But at school is a little bit sad story with freedom of speech. Some teachers are not used that student expresses her own strong opinion. When another way some teachers are just waitening it. As well as people can not speak along with state public topics and express their opinion. Therefore freedom of speech is debateable. Already from the old times Estonians have been fighting for their own freedom, because they do not like to allow to another country or state, foreign public and foreign language. Estonian public have been fighting with German, Russian and a lot of other states. Estonians has strongly tried to keep alive their own nationality, independent that Estonia is a very small state in comparison with other states. There are advantages as well as disadvantages of getting international aid. International aid could help in improving the country's position in the world. International aid can contribute to fighting global poverty, hunger and help get access to medical care. It can also provide to solve problems like terrorism, rehabilitation and many other problems. However, receiving countries could misuse international aid. Money could use to fund illegal activities and the strengthening of armed forces. International aid should be used very wisely and judiciously, only then can we eliminate poverty and hunger and other problems in the world.

In 1607, it started its first successful colony in America, called ,,Virginia". That was where Captain John Smith met the beautiful Native american princess, Pocahontas. The colonies grew fast, they became the main colonies in the Americas. From 1754 to 1761, Britain fought a war against the French and drove them out of North America. After that the Americans no longer needed Britain to defend them. Britain tried to tax the colonies but the Americans resisted. Fighting began. The colonies formed a Continental Congress in 1774. In 1776, the Continental Congress decided to break away from England, form an alliance with France, and form a Union of the colonies. Thomas Jefferson wrote a Declaration of Independence. It was adopted on July 4. This meant war. Britain lost the war and lost America. It recognized the United States as a separate country in 1783. Nobody can win a war

Nobody can win a war. Historically people have always been at war. Everyone had their own reason for a war. One thought, that getting of the worldwide power is the goal of his life, another wanted to get more money, territory or even some kind of revenge. Bur war brings with it human's deaths, innocent victims, hunger, illnesses, violence, distractions etc. Is this worth fighting? On the one hand, there are some people who are able to kill houndreds of innocent victims to make his goal realized, because he has a power and he is allowed to do everything he wants. In addition to that, sometimes people use a war just to justify their revenge, they just use the power, they have, to satisfy own ambitions to feel a win's spirit. So they become winners, but it is only formally.

Capital punishment - inglise keel

Capital punishment Capital punishment is the killing of a person by judicial process as a punishment for an great offence. It has been used in almost every part of the globe. There is an international organisation called Amnesty International who are fighting for human rights. Thanks for them there are many countries who abolished it. But is it right or should capital punishment exist? Firstly I belive capital punishment should exist because if you gonna take somebody's life it is only fair when you pay for this with your own life. Many people are thinking how cruel it is for a criminal but we should also think of the families that are broken apart because of the merciless acts of these criminals.

A book worth reading A year ago I managed to find time to read an extremely profound book entitled The Fault in Our Stars. This tragic, yet realistic drama was written by John Green, a famous author of young-adult fiction, and it provides a valuable insight into the life of children fighting with cancer. The Fault in Our Stars is about a teenage girl Hazel, who has stage 4 thyroid cancer. Hazel’s daily routine contains taking meds, reading books and taking part of the support group meetings for cancer- fighters. In the support group she meets an extraordinarily handsome boy Augustus, who, full of metaphores and mystery, catches Hazel’s attention immediately. As the plot evolves, these two spectacularily appalling figures get close and share unique experiences

How can the issue of intolerance be addressed by the government?

How can the issue of intolerance be addressed by the government? Intolerance in society is actually the intolerance of it’s individual members. Intolerance is rooted in fear and ignorance. People are afraid of the unknown, it is natural. But it can only grow, if it gets encouragement, either from parents, who are also ingorant or school, who just do not teach children any better. And fighting intolerance requires Law. Intolerance can be fought with education. Tolerance can be teached at an early age only, later it is difficult change a person’s values. And if intolerance starts with the fear of the unknow, education can help. Government should emphasise education more and more. Children should learn about tolerance and human rights and about other ways of life. School should teach children to always be open-minded. Teaching about tolerance and human rights and that the world is bigger than it seems, has to be taught at an early a...

Beowulf(poem and Grendel(book) comparison

Comparison of "Beowulf" and "Grendel" by John Gardner The text has more or less the same meaning in both of the extracts. The differences lie in the language use, character types, speakers, layout etc. In the original "Beowulf" epic Grendel displays nothing but the most primitive human qualities. He is a grotesque monster who terrorizes a small community of Danish warriors. Therefore he can be called a flat character. In the book "Grendel" the protagonist and antagonist have been swapped. Gardner greatly alters the monster's characterization. In his novel, very little separates Grendel from his human counterparts: he has a high level of intelligence, as well as a human capacity for both emotion and philosophy. As the text is written in the first person point of view through Grendel's eyes, one gets a quite good picture of him. Unfortunately he is fighting with the inevitable. He keeps attacking and eating t...

The influence of television

Television shows very big variety of different newscasts, reality shows and documentaries, which all can be a big impact of their lives. Children who consistently spend more than 4 hours per day watching TV are more likely to be overweight. They usually tend to grab a snack while watching TV or even eat their supper or afternoon snack in front of a TV. Of course, television can be educational and teach children something, such as self- defense whilst also teaching them fighting. Nevertheless, kids who view violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior but also fear that the world is scary and that something bad will happen to them. TV characters often depict risky behaviors, such as smoking and drinking, and also reinforce gender-role and racial stereotypes. Anyways TV is pointless thing and I don`t suggest it because it ruins our life and makes us FAT!

Do you consider yourself more functionalist or more conflict theorist?

For example racism, functionalists will say that it must be imporant in order to exist as long as it has but in my opinion that sounds quite doubtful. The most problematic part about racism is above all the tension and conflict which comes with it. Seems to me, that functionalists ignore the negative sides which society has on people. Secondly, I agree that society will always be in conflict because of fighting for limited resources and their rights. I think it is in our human nature to get the best for oneself and therefore in many areas, competition is inevitable. Functionalists act like all parts in society are equal and there is little talk about individualism, which might explain, why they ignore conflict between different groups. People differ from each other financially, mentally and physically and they all want best for themselves which in my opinion leads to competing

William the Conqueror

William the Conqueror William I was French. William I (1027 9 September 1087), better known as William the Conqueror, was Duke of Normandy from 1035 and King of England from 1066 to his death. William is also referred to as "William II" in relation to his position as Duke of Normandy. William's political and military successes helped him in negotiations to marry Matilda, daughter of Count Baldwin of Flanders in 1053. Environmental issues in Estonia The Earth is considered to be the most beatiful planets in the Universe. But our planet is threaten by environmental problems. Even a small country like Estonia can make difference. Our capital city is fighting against air pollution. But people produce much refuse and ways of recycling are getting old. Water pollution is also a problem in Estonia. We have factories that let their waste run into rivers. One of the biggest problems in Estonia is air pollution. Our air is polluted by exhaust fumes, because today we have a lot of cars, buses and other machines. In 2009 we had 407 cars to thousand inhabitants, which is lower than European Union average, but this number is still high

English story "Fatal Walk"

There were a few people in the park, birds were singing and not so warm evening sun was still shining. I felt a little bit chilly myself and it was getting darker too so I decided to go back home. My way back wasn't very pleasurable. I had always been afraid of those dark unlit side- streets but that walk had been good for me so I wasn't afraid that time. But then I heard screaming from one street. I didn't dare to go there but I peeked around the corner and I saw two men fighting with each other. One man had a gun and he was wearing a black mask. The other man was a typical businessman. I didn't hear what they were talking about but then I heard a loud and clear shot and I saw the businessman falling down to the ground. I yelled quietly and ran away because I understood that the man saw me watching him. I ran constantly and all the time had on the brain that I was in terrible danger. I hated that I had left my mobile phone to home to be in privacy, I needed it

Shakespeare in love

roles perfectly and I doubt there are many actors who could have done better job. The plot was built up well, it was so interesting and it just kept you stuck in the movie without even letting you loose for a minute. Scenery, clothing and all that background activity suited perfectly for the 16'th century when it all took place. And definitely have to mention the witty humor , for example when Will was fighting with Lord Wessex in theatre and he fell down from stage in a real funny way hitting his head on stage. I would definitely suggest watching this movie, because I personally must say that I absolutely loved every minute of it.

Would less TV and movie violence lead to fewer violent crimes

lots of genres in movies and TV series but most watched of them is action where plenty of crime is shown. Because of the rise in crime and at the same time in action movies or series people have started worrying that these kind of movies affect people to commit more crimes. Firstly, action films/ TV series always include robberys, explosions, car chases, shooting and all the other more little crimes. Usually these movies/series have about the same plot, where there are good guys and bad guys fighting and chasing each other. Often in the end good guys somehow still capture the criminals and live happily forward. This actually shows that the good guys will always eventually capture the bad guys and criminals have no chance. Still, they may have an affect to an audience. Because of the action it consists it can increase humans aggression and finally lead to violence. Secondly, there are also lots of children who watch violent films and get inspired by it.
