"About a boy" Review This film is about a saying: "No man is an island," but the main character Will seems to think otherwise because he is always alone and he enjoys it. Character sketch Tom Buchanan The Great Gatsby F. Scott Fizgerald Thomas ,,Tom" Buchanan is a wealthy husband of Daisy Buchanan. They live on East Egg and are both connected to Nick Carraway, the novel's narrator. Daisy is Nick's cousin and Tom was once a member of his social club at Yale. Tom was a football player, enjoys polo and is a racist. Nick describes Tom's appearance quite well: ,,He was a sturdy straw-haired man of thirty with a rather hard mouth and a supercilious manner. Two shining arrogant eyes had established dominance over his face and gave him the appearance of always leaning aggressively forward. Holly hated her previous jobs. The eight letter says that she should plant sunflowers, to brighten the dark October days. Also there was an extra letter for his friend John. It was a birthday wish. The ninth letter says that she should go to the ball that they attend every year. The last letter tells her not to be afraid of falling in love again. Every letter ended with the same sentence: "P.S. She is sometimes very quiet and completely shuts me out and then she can be very chatty. Her views of the world could be categorized as pessimistic, but I know she secretly harbours a lot of positivity. She often second guesses herself and that makes her kind of a perfectionist. I sometimes feel as if she is slow on purpose, but I know it's just the way she's made. She is an avid reader, you have to literally tear books away from her. She likes fantasy novels best, but also enjoys serious classics. When she starts with a book, it's really hard for her to stop. She also loves listening to rock music, which is what we bonded over. Also, she is a great artist if she has the time and patience. Her over analyzing makes her a slow drawer. I love Kati with all my heart. She is the best friend anyone could ever have. Whenever I need her I can call her and she's there for me. Although she might want to portrait a pessimistic person, all her advice is always very positive

If a person is able to get a good job and chooses not to, but instead, to live on our government, this would be considered free riding. This causes a fluctuation in our market and it can have a negative effect. When the benefits go away people do not want to go back to work and eventually will loose their jobs or quit and become a true free rider. Clearly there is an essential difference between cases in which one can't contribute to the benefits one enjoys and cases in which one chooses not to make a contribution that is within one's power. But apart from this distinction, we can differentiate between harmless free riding and the worthless free riding.
