,,Right from the tip”, Reet Toot 's wonderful historical play
It seems like the music never stops in Reet Toot's historical youth play ,,Right from the tip.”
This musical was devoted to the 90th birthday of Georg Ots' Music school.
Reet Toot has described her play as a ,,Musical history” in two surveys. Although everything in this play was really special, the most important thing was that all the actors were young people. Most of them are students in the birthday school. The play ,,Right from the tip” was played at the Estonian Puppet theater in February.
The idea to make a musical out of the music school history came from one of the school's teatcher, Siim Aimla. He introduced his idea to the producer, Reet Toot. That's where the historical musical started .
All the actors were really profeccional. It was a quit .e big suprise , because they were all very young.
At this play there were two first actors Terje Pennie and Anti Kobin who played the students of music school. The action took place in very many different places and during many different years .
For example in one scene the year was 1923 and the action took place in one of the piano teacher's home because the school was too full of people.
The other scene took place in 1945 when school students arranged a party . Of cource they got caught. This party implicated such much trouble that some students had to leave the school.
The designer of the play was Ursula Vanamölder. Her designs and superb drawings were miracular.
Musical artist of this play was Siim Aimla. He used songs from very many noted composers. Such as Veljo Tormis, Gustav Ernesaks, Mihkel Lüdig, Valter Ojakäär etc.
I really liked this play. The music was really good and I was really surprised by the young actors and also the extraordinary young musicians. I wonder if they are so good at such a young age, then what great things can they do years later . I would definitely recommend this play to anyone who enjoys good music and history.
