Describing People Yesterday, as I was walking in the street I met an old friend of mine. This was Marin, who was doing her shopping tour just like me. She looked amazing! Marin is a tall, well-built woman. She has got a long face, green eyes and a long thin nose. She usually wears her gorgeous long dark hair loose. She is dressed casually almost all the time, but still with elegant. Yesterday she was wearing blue jeans and golden belt on her hips. She had knee- high boots and white short coat. At least it seems like this to others, because she laughs a lot and is a very positive person. Marin likes to socialise and help others in every way that she can. She is very nice and neat and the most helpful person I know. But all the bright sides have always something negative. So do ...

Dear Michelle, Thank you for your letter, it was very nice to hear some good news from you. We're very glad that you are happy with the choice you made, by starting a new life abroad, with having many interesting chances there. You also wrote that you miss all of your friends and relatives, who you had to say goodbye to... Thinking of that, I have a marvellous suggestion for you! I know you've always wanted to have a nice summer cottage and why not to have it, here, in Estonia? I've found a lovely summerhouse for you! I also remember how much you adored these cute little hills we have in Estonia, so this lovely cottage is also on the foot of one and it's surrounded by a beautiful nature, you like to take photos of, too. It's located in the South-Estonia, near the Võru. This house has a view on a lake, where you can ride a boat and fish. It's surrounded by a little garden, in front of the house there are some beautiful roses...
Homework I live in Muuga, it's about 13km from the city center. Muuga belongs to city Maardu, it is like a little village between Maardu and Pirita and Lasnamäe. Here in Muuga, there are many little cottages and detached houses with yards. It is a very quiet and calm village. We have here only 3 food-shops, two really small ones and a bigger one ,,Maxima". Here is also being built a kindergarden. Near here we have a little staying place, something like a motel. We have a bus from the center, it takes nearly 35 minutes to get from the center to Muuga. Bus comes every 17-25 minutes, so it is quite comfortable. A lot of place to walk, go jogging and ride a bike. I'm happy that i live near the bus stop, it's very good for me, but however sometimes I may miss the bus. I can walk here in my yard only in a robe and nobody will tell me anything, that's why i like Muuga and also for its tranquilness. But i d...

The Renaissance In the history the Middle Ages were followed by the Renassance period. During this period a new class called bourgeoeisie came into being. This is the period when monarchies based on nationality were estabilished. The Renaessance started in Italy In the 14th century. Then it spread all over Europe, reached England in 16th century. The struggle for power culminated in a war called The War of Roses. It was a civil war between two dynasties, families. They had different emblems on one side the Yorks (white rose) other Lancasters (red). They couldn't decide who gets the throne. War ended 1485. BEES Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants. There are nearly 20,000 known species of bee, in nine recognized families, though many are undescribed and the actual number is probably higher. They are found on every continent except Antarctica, in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants. Bees are adapted for feeding on nectar and pollen, the former primarily as an energy source, and the latter primarily for protein and other nutrients. Most pollen is used as food for larvae. Bees have a long proboscis (a complex "tongue") that enables them to obtain the nectar from flowers. They have antennae almost universally made up of 13 segments in males and 12 in females, as is typical for the superfamily. Bees all have two pairs of wings, the hind pair being the smaller of the two; in a very few species, one sex or caste has relatively short wings tha...

How to Write a Manual Know the material--and the product--inside out. Make certain you understand the procedure completely--from both a practical and a theoretical standpoint. Ensure that you can successfully carry out the process you'll be describing by going through the necessary steps yourself repeatedly until you are convinced that you know how to complete them properly and explain them clearly. 2 Assume that your reader knows nothing at all about the process you'll be describing when you write your manual. This will remind you to take nothing for granted as you explain how to complete the procedure and will prevent you from leaving gaps in your explanation that your reader will find frustrating.
The giant's causeway Northern Ireland is a beautiful. The most famous sight is the Giant' s causeway on the north coast. According to legend, the columns are old stepping stones, that giants used to cross the channel between ireland and Scotland. Although there are an abundance of tall tales, and myths describing colourful ways the Giant's Causeway came into being, the actual, natural history is a bit less exciting. The actual history is that the rock formations were created by a lava flow some 65 million years ago by molten basalt rising through a chalk bed, and then cooling and cracking to form the tall columns that make up the causeway. Legend: Legend has it that the Finn McCool built the causeway to walk to Scotland to fight his Scottish counterpart Benandonner

The pure bliss you get out of Skydiving outweighs all the fears engendered by this sport. It manifests a lot of emotions during the jump and gives a very relaxing feeling once you get back on the ground. I will start by describing what I felt when I was at the Koigi airfield ready for getting on the plane. As I was making my way to the plane, I was going over seven steps in my mind: count to seven, grab the controls, check the dome, check the wind direction, make sure anybody isn’t close, locate the landing area and prepare for landing 600 meters above ground. It all sounded very easy in my mind, but how would I know it if I had never done it before? We
REPORT To: local authorities From: a member of the Nature Club Subject: environmental situation at Poku Date: 22 February 2012 As a member on the Nature Club I have decided to write a report describing the environmental situation and make some recommendations based of the opinion poll. The situation at Poku is satisfying. Water and noise pollution is low because there are no cities around here. Wildlife is good and getting better because we have beautiful forests near Poku which gives good living and development places for wild animals. Paper and glass recycling is well organized. We have paper and glass containers and workers are cleaning them daily basis.
In my opinion, ‘’Dracula’’ is a story about the good and the evil. People in England are trying to save their country, even the world, from the evil of Count Dracula, who definitely has great power to do that. Of course, this fight has its ups and downs, as usual in the stories of good and the evil. As it appears, there are no winning without loss so this is a great example of good defeating the bad. Bram Stoker’s writing is his own kind. It is simple yet complicated while describing the nature, the scenery of happening, also the looks and emotions of characters, which are actually quite fictional and the portraits are very embellished. Although there is nothing pretty in furious vampire that is ready to attack, Stroker manages to say it in words that make this even magical. Furthermore, everything he writes about the scenery is very accurate, so this story seems to be happened and it is even claimed that vampires were also real, but this likely
Liis Naptal 11A Describing a person Liivia is my aunt. She is also a good friend of mine. I have known her all my life and we know a lot of each other. That is her kindness that has attracted me. Most people would say that she is very pretty. I think they are right. She is not very tall, I would rather say she is of medium height. She has a good figure. That means she is slender and athletic. She is in her twenties but looks exactly like an eighteen year old.
Those books are mainly discussing love, wars and relations having one but those books don't talk about everything. They have their confines and mainly concentrate on descriptions and less on the story. But young people want their own picture from the book, they don't need every detail described. When we think more about the themes disussed in obligatory books, then they are also hold in check. Here is the second problem, youngsters can't relate to those topics. For example, they are only describing a feeling, like love, but don't give a real situation, so that the reader can feel as a part of the story. A princess story isn't a real one. So I don't think that the themes discussed in obligatiry books are irrelevant. But what about books of this centuary? They describe also every detail but from a real aspect. They don't have fairytails, because that doesen't sell. And maybe it is right. You can relate more to things that are in every day life. Even drugs and violence. Books are important
Morphological Explanations of the Chinese Characters. A Comparative Study of Kanji Dictionaries. ma thesis 2000 Helsinki University Department of Asian and African Languages and Cultures Abstract The current paper is a comparative study on the morphological explanations of the Chinese characters as explained in eight character dictionaries and textbooks. C. S. Peirce sign systems theory is used for describing the morphological space of the Chinese characters. A hypothesis about the possibilities offered by reliable character morphology for explanation of the lexical multivalency of Chinese characters is proposed. Also criteria for judging the quality of available morphological explanations is provided and their shortcomings are being outlined. Finally, as a practical implematation of the above-presented theoretical considerations, a XML database structure with one sample entry for

5. In 1916 Öpik published article in Astrophysical Journal where he estimates the densities of visual binary stars. In 1922, Ernst Öpik published a paper where he estimated the distance of the Andromeda Galaxy. Using a novel and simple astrophysical method, he determined the distance as 450 kpc. His result was in good accordance with other estimates of these days and his method is still widely used. In 1951 he published a paper concerning the triple-alpha process, describing the burning of helium-4 into carbon-12 in the cores of red giant stars. However, this achievement is often overlooked because Edwin Salpeter's paper on the same subject had already been published by the time Öpik's paper reached Britain and the United States.[3] In 1972, Öpik published a very important piece on the origin of the Moon by capture in the Irish Astronomical Journal. He included breakup and re-assembly of rings into which the Moon was broken. 6
receivers. In 1875, Bell developed his first version of what came to be known as the telephone. He received a patent for it on March 7, 1876, just after his 29th birthday. Five days later, on March 12, he tested his device, speaking into the phone to his associate, Thomas Watson, when he said, "Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you." After that this primitive telephone was rapidly improved. Picture on the slaid : Bell's March 10, 1876 laboratory notebook entry describing his first successful experiment with the telephone.

He is just describing the situation and does not give his own opinions. He quotes people who know more about Ebola and paraphrases their opinions. The aim of an article is to inform people of Ebola and make them think that it is not just a disease it is very dangerous disease because of how easily it spreads. The article "Why Ebola is so dangerous" is very current right now because the disease is spreading all the time, and more and more people are dying due to it. There is no cure for the ones with Ebola
Anna Sewell (1820-1878) wrote only one novel during her lifetime, a book describing the life of a beautiful, black horse, Black Beauty. Sewell was very concerned about animals and used the book to write about the terrible treatment of horses in England at the time. The book is written from the point of view of the horse, which helps us to understand the influence that good and bad treatment had on the horses in the story. Black Beauty spent his early years in a picturesque, green field with his mother and some other young colts

The novel begins with Stevens receiving a letter from a former colleague, Miss Kenton, describing her married life, which he believes hints at an unhappy marriage. The receipt of the letter coincides with Stevens having the opportunity to revisit this once-cherished relationship, if only under the guise of investigating the possibility of re-employment. Stevens's new employer is a wealthy American named Mr Farraday. As the book progresses, increasing evidence of love between Stevens and Miss Kenton, is revealed. Unfortunately they fail to
sunshine. These days, a weather forecaster’s job is even more complicated because they are relied upon to predict other environmental conditions. For example, in the summer the weather forecast has to include the pollen count for hayfever sufferers. Some also include reports on ultraviolet radiation intensity to help people avoid sunburn. The job of a weather forecaster is certainly far more complicated than just pointing at a map and describing weather conditions. It's a job for professionals who can cope with stressful and demanding conditions.
Kafka's Hunger Artist Kafka, in his masterpiece "The Hunger Artist," suggests that humans can never satisfy their desires. This is illustrated through the metaphorical hunger artist for whom nourishment is not being nourished at all. The viewing public's interest is derived from their desire to see the hunger artist cheating, but to view this would put an end to that desire. Finally, Kafka presents this idea while the artist is at the circus and describing when people wish to view the starved man. The hunger artist's nourishment is spiritual. The man only wishes to be honored by the public. As he continuously spirals downward in his health, he looses all forms of material nourishment. As the days go on, there is conflict between the artist and the audience, as they do not believe him honest in claiming not to have eaten. By searching for the audience's approval, a symbol for spiritual

visit the shrine of a holy martyr who had brought health to them when they were ill. Chaucer joined the twenty nine of them in a tavern and started to talk to them. They quickly became friends and then there were thirty. All of the stories and very different characters create a body to the story, which depicts the picture of the English society at that time. Chaucer depicts the knight as a typical hero. In my opinion he is making fun of him because he exaggerates describing his very polite manners and love for chivalry. He says that the knight had fought bravely for their country, was honest, polite and wise and had never in his life lost a battle. Chaucer also writes that the hero was a perfect gentleman and everyone thought only good things about him. But then he says that the clothes the knight wore were dull and beneath the shiny armour he was a simple man like everyone else. I think because at the time of writing chivalry was becoming

Local differences were noticed by the first ethnographers describing Estonians. The main regions fall into South, North, and West Estonia, and the islands as a separate group, reflecting ancient tribal peculiarities. South Estonia This region is the most conservative in dress. Maidens in Southern Estonia bound their hair with a ribbon plaited from colourful pieces of cloth or woollen yarns. Instead of a skirt, the Setu women wore a garment resembling the Russian sarafan. Setu women were extremely fond of silver ornaments: on their chest they wore a conical

Although Willam's victory was remarkable, the way how he managed to control the nobles was even more. He gave them lands, but scattered them all over England so that he would not have the same faith as French Monarch. He also demanded that each freeman in England would utter the oath of loyalty to him(not to the feudals as they used to). · Henry II and the Angevin Empire- Henry II was the King of Angevin Empire. The term Angevin Empire is a modern term describing the collection of states once ruled by the Angevin Plantagenet dynasty, which was an empire, that included one-third of France(he got it from the marriage with Elanor of Aquitaine), England and a part of Ireland. Henry II is known for his legal reforms. He hanged the law by having the state, not private individuals, bring suspects to trial(before that private individuals had to do that and if it turned out that they were wrong they had to pay fines)
given, it brings to mind a sunny and warm summer-day, when everything is just perfect. The point on the first stanza is only to set the tone, it has no real artistic value. The second stanza states that there was no sign of the Inchcape Rock, which lay below the water surface. The water gave no sign of that deadly rock and the low, calm waves did not move, or sound the Inchcape Bell - the warning bell, put there to alert the sailors of a nearby peril. Southey creates tension by describing the location of the bell "Without either sign or sound of their shock / The waves flow'd over the Inchcape Rock;" - the ships are left clueless about the Rock that awaits, to tear them apart, under the clam surface. The mood immediately changes with this stanza. The word "shock" has an ominous under-tone, which gives the reader a hint of the future horrors, which are going to happen near the rock. In the third stanza we are explained how the Bell came to be there, where it now stands
that his time away from the rose makes the rose more special to him, and that love makes a person responsible for the beings that one loves. The little prince realizes that, even though there are many roses, his love for his rose makes her unique and that he is therefore responsible for her. Despite this revelation, he still feels very lonely because he is so far away from his rose. The prince ends his story by describing his encounters with two men, a railway switchman and a salesclerk. It is now the narrator's eighth day in the desert, and at the prince's suggestion, they set off to find a well. The water feeds their hearts as much as their bodies, and the two share a moment of bliss as they agree that too many people do not see what is truly important in life. Actually it was quite interesting and I am thinking about watching the movie also. But still it was not so good that I would like to read it over and over like some books. But when people are interested in fiction book it is a great book to read.
