Art week
Art week is a big event for students and teachers of Tallinn 21. School. It is a tradition that has been held for the last 30 years. Art Week is always organized by 11c class students who study Humanities and Social Sciences. Organizing class has to introduce the culture of the country they have picked to other students in school.
The Art Week was originally initiated by Tiina Meeri, who is still working in our school and still organizes the week. At the beginning there were no countries, just certain time periods of history. The Art Week has some traditional events , such as the play “Moving Pictures” which tells the story of the theme country. At the opening ceremony, people from embassy come to congratulate and thank the students for their efforts of making such a big event happen. There´s also Art Week´s café where traditional food is served. Traditionally Art Week ends with costume party where organizing class performs with their own play. Also they pass on the torch to next organizing class by giving them the Art Weeks flag.
This year´s theme country was Japan . The school was decorated with symbolic things from Japan. There was a handmade Torii in the lobby. Art Weeks café was in atrium where 11c did very good job. My favourite food was sushi which I believe was made by themselves. There were many activities in which students could participate. I took part in language lesson, origami lesson, animation workshop where I made my own little cartoon. I also went to a lecture in TTU about robots from Japan. At the end of the lecture we built our own robots and made them compete with each other. There were also a lot people who came to talk about life in Japan. This week gave me very good view into Japans life and culture.
I think Art Week is a tradition which everyone inside or outside of Tallinn 21. School should value because such events do not take place in any other schools . I am very sad about the fact that this Art Week event has not found much publicity in media. I have had thoughts on writing an article about our schools Art Week.

Then I have my dinner and a little rest. The teachers give us a lot of homework, so I start doing it about 16.30 or 17.00. As a rule it takes me two or three hours to do my home assignments. My parents get home about six o'clock. We watch soapopera on TV, have supper together. We share all the news, I tell about the lessons and school. After it, I help my mother to do some work about the house -- wash dishes, sweep the floor, clean the room. Twice a week in evenings I go play tennis. When I do not go to play tennis, I stay home and watch TV, listen to the music, read magazines. Sometimes my friends call me and we go for a walk. At eleven o'clock tired after a long working day I go to bed and fall asleep. Questions: 1. What time do you get up on your week-days? 2. Do you usually do your morning exercises? 3. Who cooks your breakfast? 4. What time do you leave your house to go to school? 5. How many lessons do you have a day? 6

Estonian holidays, festivals, cultural events

Around 870 singers took part, along with 76 musicians. Things have changed a lot, and today, the average festival gathering involves 25,000 participants, including large, joint choirs from all over Estonia. Festivals often close with choirs of around 25,000 taking part in an electrifying finale, in front of an openair audience of about 100,000. The festival takes place at the beginning of July, and it's common for many Estonians to take the week off work and travel to Tallinn to join in the celebrations. Visitors from other countries converge in Tallinn to experience the powerful singing, lively dances and intricate, colourful folk costumes at first hand. If you're interested in seeing this spectacular live performance, or maybe even taking part in a festival, the next event happens in 2004, 2009 and 2013. The song festivals began in 1869, part of the romantic and nationalist movement in Europe. They developed a network of
