AC/DC on Austraalia päritolu hard rock bänd AC/DC rajasid vennad Malcolm ja Angus Young Sydneys 1973. Lauljaks oli siis Dave Evans. Septembris 1974 asus Evasni asemele Bon Scott. Pärast Boni surma 19. veebruaril 1980 asus tema kohale Brian Johnson (sündinud 1947). AC/DC tegutseb tänaseni, nende albumeid on müüdud üle 100 miljoni eksemplari. Kuigi tavaliselt peetakse bändi hard rocki ja heavy metali teerajajaks, liigitavad liikmed enda muusikat rohkem rock'n'rolliks. Nimi AC/DC tuleneb ingliskeelsetest sõnadest alternating current/direct current, mis tähendab vahelduvvool/alalisvool. Seda soovitas väidetavalt vendadele Youngidele nende õde Margaret, lugedes seda lühendite paari õmblusmasinalt. Bändiliikmed on hetkel: · Angus Young (soolokitarr) alates 1973 · Malcolm Young (rütmikitarr) alates 1973 · Brian Johnson (vokaal) alates 1980

The Parliament consists of two houses-the 76-member Senate and the 148-member House of Representatives, so there are total of 224 members in the Parliament. The polity is constitutional monarchy, but in practice, parliamentary democracy. The Head of the government is the Prime minister, who right now is John Howard. People Today Australians are mostly white, but before the first fleet reached Australia in 1788, there were only black people. Most of them live near coasts as the climate there is more fertile and human-friendly. Still there are people who like to live in the country, as there is much land and peace. However, because schools are thousands of kilometers away, children have to learn using special programs on the TV and radio. People living in big cities do not all use cars for moving. Getting to work with a bicycle or with even a sailing boat is not strange in Australia. Aborigines are described in the History

Poverty and economic decline led many blacks to seek temporary work in neighboring Caribbean areas and in the United States; many left the island permanently, emigrating to England, Canada, and the United States. Indians were imported to meet the labor shortage on the plantations after the slaves were freed, and agriculture was diversified to lessen dependence on sugar exports. A new constitution in 1884 marked the initial revival of local autonomy for Jamaica. Despite labor and other reforms, black riots recurred, notably those of 1938, which were caused mainly by unemployment and resentment against British racial policies. Jamaican blacks had been considerably influenced by the theories of black nationalism promulgated by the American expatriate Marcus Garvey. A royal commission investigating the 1938 riots recommended an increase of economic development funds and a faster restoration of representative government for Jamaica. In 1944 universal adult suffrage was introduced, and

onto his ships as would fit and sent them to Spain, where they were paraded naked through the streets of Seville and sold as slaves in 1495. Columbus tore children from their parents, husbands from wives. On board Columbus' slave ships, hundreds died; the sailors tossed the Indian bodies into the Atlantic. Because Columbus captured more Indian slaves than he could transport to Spain in his small ships, he put them to work in mines and plantations. His marauding band hunted Indians for sport and profit - beating, raping, torturing, killing, and then using the Indian bodies as food for their hunting dogs. Within four years of Columbus' arrival on Hispaniola, his men had killed or exported one-third of the original Indian population of 300,000. This was the great cultural encounter initiated by Christopher Columbus. This is the event we celebrate each year on Columbus Day. By then, Ghana the former Gold Coast had been independent for three years under the great Osagyefo Kwame Nkumah. It was a time for celebrating Africa’s coming of age, as more and more African countries received their independence either from Britain or France. It was especially a poignant time for Africa, as then British Prime Minister Harold McMillan articulated his now famous “winds of change” sweeping Africa. We had high hopes for Africa, for the Black race, that the insidious imposition of foreign rule on us, the looting of Africa’s natural resources by our colonial masters accorded us would be things of history. That is more than forty years ago. Unfortunately, the promise of independence has not been fulfilled. Today, Africa has become more desolate; there is more starvation, diseases and non-provision of essential services than when we got our independence. There are all kinds of wars in Africa than the rest of world put together.
