Edulugude võistlus Success-story competition „Small Town Inhabitants – Educated or Uneducated People“ To begin with, my childhood was quite ordinary, I spent a lot of time in my country home, spending most of my time playing. I have been raised by my mother. As I grew older, I got more and more interested in different things. At one point it occured to me that when I want to be successful in some field, then I really have to educate myself in that filed. When my friends have characterised me then they have mainly mentioned that I am an active person, who has been successful in different fields. I still do not think I am succesful because it is a really complicated definition, but I know that I have succeeded in doing several things. For me the key is my so called success has been that when dealing with a particular thing I have tried to delve into the subject as deep as possible.
were some points, where I could argue with him. Ken Robinson says noone knows how’ll the future be like. The future where our kid’s are going to have to live in. Still our education system wants us to prepare them for that. Prepare them for the mystery, for something we have no idea about how it’s going to be. If I had no younger relatives, I’d have to dissagree with him - I mean, when I was in secondary school I had to study mostly only those subjects I’d really need in the future. But I have some relatives younger than I am. The youngest is 9 right now. And when I look at what she must study, well, I studied it in 4th or 5th grade and I didn’t have to study that much with that heavy pressure. He also talks about talent and how we call it. We see a kid with a tremendous ability and we think right away that he or she is so talented. Actually, what I think is that kid had just found something he/she feels passinoate about and practiced a lot
Education Education is so multifaceted that it is difficult for me to know where to begin discussing it, or how to prioritize the many factors. Relaying my own experience is easy: I had a standard classroom approach, supplemented by inordinate reading. In only the briefest and least memorable instances did I receive any individual tutoring. Education is commonly thought of as the job of schools. Adults cry "educate our children!" Everyone has opinions about the best way to do the job. It is of urgent importance, and all the numerous factors are much studied, debated, and new (or old) ideas continually tested or retested. Some people say "it's as simple as . . . " and then name their pet peeve or passion. My view is not of an education specialist, but of one who loves sharing what I learn, and owes much to educators. Since I don't have an educational theory neatly worked-out, nor an outline
Leap of faith All of you, hopefully, will graduate from high school this year. It’s great. You don’t need to wake up at 6 or 7 AM. No more homeworks, teachers giving you bad grades, or days lasting up to 4 or 5 pm. Great. While it’s all party and stuff, people will tend to ask you one question all the time, as you start to finish your last year. I don’t know how many of you have suffered that pain already, but I have. People, friends and family more frequently, will ask you the following: ‘Hey. Soo… Who do you want to become in the future?’ First thing most of you will say is that: ‘Um, I’m not entirely sure, I’m yet to decide.’ The one who asks is confused: ‘It’s your last year of high school, you’re probably going to university next year or whatever, and you don’t know who you want to become?!?’
light. Only the bedroom should be dark, because in dark is better sleep. 4. What makes a good home? I think that everybody's home is the best place in the world. You can always go there. It's good to go home when somebody is waiting you to come home. There shouldn't be noisy at home. Home makes a good home for each other's trust, helpfulness and good relations with other family members. I love my home. 5. How people make choices about where they live? Every person is different. Some people like sun and sea and that kind of person's usually go to live in tropical countries. People must choose the best climate for him. And the work shouldn't be far from home. But it's everybody's own decision what they like or not. ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES 1. What is your favourite food? I'm quite choosy human. I don't eat many things like mushrooms, carrots, eggs, fish etc. My favourite food is French fries with salad. In general, I like fast food. But fast food is not always
However, in the 1920s and 30s a great leap forward in the use of rockets took place with the introduction of liquid fuel. This made rockets much more powerful. The new rockets were so impressive that for the first time people began to seriously think about using rockets to take people to space. The development of the space rockets took place during World War II. It was the Germans who built the first really big rockets, as a way of bombing Britain without needing to use aircraft. First the V1 was built and then later the V2 - a more powerful rocket which was able to carry a large warhead of explosives to Britain. After the war, the Soviet Union and the United States took German rocket technology back to their countries. The main motive was to build rockets to launch nuclear missiles. The idea of using military rockets to launch a satellite was really an afterthought.
Positive sides of outdoor learning Essay "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin In the last few years outdoor education has become more and more popular worldwide and in Estonia too. While there are many definitions for outdoor education, I think the best way to describe it would be outdoor education is a form of education, when learning takes place somewhere else than a classroom and the subjects are not only about the environment and
Active Citizenship in Cadle Primary School: A Case Study 20 Conclusion 29 Bibliography 32 Appendices Appendix 1: The United Convention of the Rights of the Child Appendix 2: Interview with Jamie Richards, the Head Teacher of Cadle Primary School 2 Abstract: Children inherently have had a rather tenuous relationship with citizenship. Similarly to how women were once viewed, children have not been considered as subjects of rights due to their perceived incompetence and irrationality. Currently, children are not considered as being rational and capable of exercising responsibility until the age of majority, the age of 18. However, the adoption of the U.N Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in 1989 granted for the first time the recognition for children as worthy individuals with rights of their own
In London you'll also find Indonesian, Mexican, Greek... Cynics will say that this is because English have no "cuisine" themselves, but this is not quite the true. Vocabulary: to criticize - tasteless overcooked - ingredient - to invent - sauces - to disguise - spice herb - delicious - disappointing - to lend cuisine British Youth (2) Most 18 and 19 year-olds in Britain are quite independent people. English people say that children grow up more quickly now. Relationships within the British family are different now. Children have more freedom to make their own decisions. For example, children aged 13 may be employed part time in Great Britain. Age 15 is legally a "young person" not a "child". Age 16 is a school leaving age. They can leave home, drive a moped, marry with "parents' consent" buy beer. Age 17 can drive a car. Age 18 can vote, get married, drink in pubs.
Don't you think it's better to stay single? Well, if you ask me, it all depends on your circumstances. Well, I think everybody should have the right to join a trade union. 4.2 Expressing a strong value ( It's / They're + value adjective) It's a nonsense to keep everybody at the same level regardless of their progress. ... their employers don't pay them a living wage. It's a scandal, because many pizza parlours, pubs and burger bars are really being subsidized by the Government. It's perfect for short-outings - boat trips around the islands and visits to show-piece villages such as Sigtuna. It's wrong to leave hospital patients without doctors and nurses. Likewise, strikes among teachers can severely disrupt the education of our children. They're ideal for people who really want to relax and live life at a slower pace. 4.3 Expressing certainty
Women writer's influence on our society Estonian women writer's history doesn't go far back. The reason for that is that people were slaves back then. Even if there were writers, then most weren't famous and they wrote poems and stories more for themselves. Also being a woman and a writer wasn't considered as a decent job for a woman at that time. The stories that we have from that time were given to one another by talking and mostly we don't know who were the authors. Education was also very expensive so only rich people could get it and Estonians, who were just farmers, mostly didn't have money for that. First I am going to talk about Marie Heiberg. She lived 1890-1942. Her first poem collection was ,,Mure-lapse laulud" in translation ,,Problem child's songs". Her talent was noticed, but she didn't have a change to really become famous. She was in a great penury that made her life really though and she had a gentle soul
Exams are a must. Are they necessary? Recently, exams are made quite often and also to early, even in primary schools. People think they are the best way to test intelligence. But is it so? I think no, they aren't best way to test intelligent. Because the majority of students are very nervous during exams and they can't focus and making mistakes. There also will not be enough time. Does anyone in real life situation prohibit you to check your spelling grammar from dictionary or look online help for the problems. Some people are smarter, while others do not.
Since then, I have given more than two thousand talks and seminars as long as four days in length, in 24 countries, to a total of more than two mil- lion participants. Most of them were also skeptical when they first heard these ideas of optimism and possibility, until they learned what you are going to learn in the pages ahead. It changed their lives, as it will change yours. ■ THE GREAT PRINCIPLE Perhaps the most important mental and spiritual principle ever dis- covered is that you become what you think about most of the time. Your outer world is very much a mirror image of your inner world. What is going on outside of you is a reflection of what is going in inside of you. You can tell the inner condition of a person by looking at the outer conditions of his or her life. And it cannot be otherwise. ■ THOUGHTS ARE THINGS
Dear listeners, most of us here today are soon going to make the biggest and most important step of our lives so far. We are going to start a completely new and different life after graduation. The emphasis therefore should be on the word "life". The real thing, it's coming, it's going to hit us and it's going to hit us hard. Nothing is going to be the same. Life will never ever be as simple, carefree and easygoing again. To me, the expression "life is hard" has never meant anything. I have always been more of a "life is beautiful"-type. I have never really thought that it actually is hard. Mostly because I have never thought what the real life is like
They spend more time at the computers or laptops or iPads etc. than read books or move outside. And another thing is that teachers are less capable in using technological appliances. But the latter mentioned fact is an advantage for us teachers as well. It gives us an opportunity to provide our students to experience success. They can help and assist us if we need some technological help. Another thing is that in schools, in classes generally students are not allowed to use their appliances, so it means they have to communicate verbally as well. I think that teachers should be creative to blend so-called digital learning/teaching with old-fashioned learning/teaching. · Sir Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity? Sir Ken Robinson claims in the clip that " creativity in education is as important as literacy, we should treat it with the same status." I totally agree with all what he said
Entry Ticket Week 39 – Ave Nurmeots (62-130) 1. Why is it important to move beyond product innovation? To be able to compete within the today’s marketplace (continued success and differentiation). It is not enough anymore just to come up with an innovative product or its features. To achieve a bigger and more sustainable competitive advantage different types of innovations should be combined together. 2. Name an example of a company from the book, which has gone beyond product innovation –explain which of the 9 other types they have used? I really liked the example of Microsoft reinventing integrated office tools. When I think about it in today’s context, it seems very logical – a lot of companies do that. But that must have been an amazing innovation for that time. They used:
After being in isolation for only two days a realization hit me. I realized that everything that I took for granted was going to change. As many other, I didn’t thought that Estonia is going to suffer greatly from the virus outbreak and everything is going to proceed as usual. Life goes on. But it doesn’t. I became aware of the problem after my sister and I had a talk about immunity. I myself have lived many years with runny nose and I don’t worry too much about it but I really never thought about my little sister and mom. They both have had some serious issues with their health and I don’t want my actions to harm their wellbeing in any way. Because of that our family has stayed isolated for 10 days now. The first few days were like a cakewalk and being home was awesome but later on we all get tense and want our personal space more than before. We are lucky to have a big house, yard and field so when we really want to be away from one another, we can.
Libraries. We know a lot of things thanks to books, but we do not know exactly when and where they originated, and what should be considered the first book in the world. Ancient document, written on parchment, papyri and vellum can hardly be qualified as books the way we understand the word today. Centuries went before paper replaced parchment and papyri. In the 15 th century Johann Gutenberg invented a mechanical process of duplicating texts, which we today call book printing. The first book was printed between 1444 and 1446, so these years can be considered as the beginning years of book printing. His most important preserved printings are the 40 copies of the Bible. By the end of the 15 th century there were about 1000 print-shops in Europe already. The oldest Estonian
Lessons for the future Education seems to be in government's, media's and people's spotlight all the time. Times change and education, as one of the most important areas of our society, needs constant reforming. Nowadays, the main focus seems to be on subjects like maths, physics, chemistry etc. because of current IT-era demands more knowledge in those regions than in humanities. I agree that Estonia's government's steps towards making maths and physics our school- system's top priority is quite right, but I think that there can be a lot more done to improve our educational structure.
" - Ralph Waldo Emerson This quato, mentioned before, gives me confidence to do great things myself in life and pursue them into bigger ones one day ahead. In these moments i like to remember what Napoleon Hill once said: ,,If you can´t do great things, do small things in a great way." The things is, that everyone has to start somewhere, to find their own way in this life-that is the reason why i am writing this letter at this very moment, to let you know, that i am ready to make a change. To introduce myself, i would use one word-determined. I am 19 years old girl from Estonia and i live in two cities at the same time. During my school time i live in Tartu and when i want to charge my batteries i take a trip to smaller city and my hometown called Rakvere. Itmight be little, but it has it´s own way to fancy people. For example our city is known for a running event-,,Night run" where for 2 years i have been a volunteer to encourage and help
belief that we spend more time and money on visible luxurious and ultimately worthless items, than in maintaining our property, which to everyone but us is a major part of their investment and retirement and retirement portfolio. The blame game has become a permanent part of our lives to the exclusion of any other solution that could be more viable in solving our problems. It has become the most productive part of our lives, because without it the African cannot really point to much that they are in charge of producing. It is better to blame others than to confront the truth of our being responsible for whatever has happened to us as an African race. I decided to write ‘Capitalist Nigger’ to open a debate on the state of the African race. But in doing so, my intention was not to treat my own contribution to the debate with kid gloves. It is to tell it like it is, the truth and nothing but the truth

What’s the use of everlasting life if we can’t maintain a youthful spirit? Better to die with a hopeful eye on the future than to have such a long empty difficult life though eternity. write, specially poems and I used every opportunity to submit my works for competitions and I had the luck to win some of them. It felt good to be one of the best students in our class. As the school went on and I finally found myself in 9 th grade, just before the exams, and I realised that in the following years after my graduation from elementary school, my mathematic skills had gotten a bit rusty and I was mortified. Our teachers kept saying to us that math is really important in the future and that you have to have the knowledge in mathemathics to actually achieve something in your life. But still, there I was, writing poems and essays, even in my free time, because unlike my skills in maths and other subjects like chemistry and biology, my skills in writing had actually improved and I had also discovered my love of reading in English. I had always loved to read, but many of the books I loved had

Tolerance and diversity Tolerance is a very important issue for the people all over the world. Sadly the lack of it has influenced us more than the existence. On the other hand people have always liked the diversity of this world. For example, we can't imagine life without our Chinese food, Italian pasta and especially McDonalds , can we? We have to admit that it would be very unpleasant without simple things like these so is it so hard for us to cope with different types of people? We live our lives differently and see the world in different ways, everyone use words that they feel like using , but in the end we are all trying to answer the same question. There is no such thing as the correctness of one people with his religion because each and every one of us thinks that the one he believes is the only real. You do not have to like the same food, dress the same way or listen to the same music as your friends do. But always be opened to

specific goal in mind for long enough where they can keep an eye on the target and know what they need to do and work on it right away. Aviation has always been one of my biggest intrests since the eighth grade. I became interested in it after my brother had applied to the Estonian Aviation Academy. Unfortunately he did not make it and, of course, my desire to become an air traffic controller began to increase due to my brother's failure. I have never really had a real experience in aviation. Luckily, I had a chance to be a work shadow to a professional air traffic controller to see how it all works. This experience seemed long, however it was interesting and really opened my eyes. At first I thought that controlling air traffic can not be that hard, that it is just like another computer game! Well, during those two hours, while I sat next to my work shadow, I learned how much logic, brainwork and thinking it really requires

New Media Economy Social media information and data collection and security In this brief essay, i would like to focus on the social media platforms in our moren society. How people use them, what kind of information we give away, what companies will do with this. Information sharing and data protection has become very popular theme in the recent few years. People care more about their privacy and avoid „big brother“ foreshadowing. It is important to know what social media platforms promise and are they really going to keep it. Users should think about what they share and what kind of information they generate. Because it is all recorded and some info can be traced back to real people. Privacy and data protecion topics are becoming more and more important and the amouts of data generated is becoming larger. When wrongly access this kind of data, a lot damage could be done by criminals
avenue, unlike the traditional face-to-face meetings or discussions, to foster their personal knowledge development through meaningful negotiation and communication. The web-based technology supports collaborative learning that enriches learning performance, both for individual knowledge construction and group knowledge sharing. I became interested in the field since I realised that nowadays in order to be an effective teacher one must know the `key' to the new generation of learners falling, to a category of `digital natives'. The research aims to determine the meaning of `blogs' and evaluate the extent to which they might be useful for the teaching of English. The primary purpose of this study is to collect evidence from numerous reviews of practices and summarize findings that will reflect on the ways in which social computing applications change learning patterns, give rise to new learning opportunities
Brainstorming Selecting the essay topic Writing the essay Revising the essay Coming up with the final draft 1. BRAINSTORMING: Brainstorming is the process of coming up with ideas spontaneously from free flowing writing or talking. To brainstorm, you can simply sit down with a pen and jot down every idea that comes into your head. Another approach is to simply start writing and see where you end up. Record as much information as you can recall, such as schools attended, courses taken, jobs held, research projects undertaken. Work on taking yourself deeper into the introspection process by tackling more specific topics. Here are some questions you might want to consider: What am I like? How do my friends characterize me? What are my personality traits? Have I ever experienced a moment of epiphany? Why is (some color) my favorite color? Why is (some movie) my favorite movie? How have my favorites influenced my life? What have I done?
communication marketing drive is to see if it gets the people talking. If it does, then not only does it mean that the advertising drive has been successful, but the organization in charge of the mass communication is also getting publicity by the word-of-mouth channel! Mass Media Influence It is hard to argue with the fact that mass media has a compelling effect on the human mind. Especially on minds which are more impressionable. For example, the mass media influence on children is understandably higher than it is in adults. So how exactly does mass media influence us? Mass Media Influence on Youth There is a burgeoning need amongst the youth to be accepted as a part of a group, to be popular, to have friends and relationships with people of the opposite sex etc. Mass media experts understand this need of the people and hence they come out with advertisements on TV, or in the newspapers, or on websites on how people can be more popular using a certain product
