The Haunted School
Bill woke up with an appalling headache. He put his hand to his head and realised his hair was thick with dried blood . What on earth had happened ? He tryed to remember previous day, if it really happened the day before ...
It was an usual day. After finishing prefearing to school he went out and took his bike . There were extremely quiet in that morning . It was Friday , but still ... He stopped in front of the school and were still wondering that there were nobody moving around . He opened the door and stepped in. Finally, he heard some noise, but he couldn’t understand the meaning . That was coming behind the corner , where Bill had just stepped. He saw a policeman lying and there were blood everywhere. He touched the man and didn’t know what to do. Bill decided to run away . Cause he was incautious he fell and hit his head.
After waking up and thinking a little bit he saw a sign , which said: „Refused to work and disturbe in field -day!” That said everything. His headache wasn’t so tender too. He was so pleased that he fell asleep again .

A lamb to the slaughter

Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl (1916-1990) The room was warm and clean, the curtains drawn, the two table lamps alight - hers and the one by the empty chair opposite. On the sideboard behind her, two tall glasses, soda water, whiskey. Fresh ice cubes in the Thermos bucket. Mary Maloney was waiting for her husband to come him (correction: home) from work. Now and again she would glance up at the clock, but without anxiety, merely to please herself with the thought that each minute gone by made it nearer the time when he would come. There was a slow smiling air about her, and about everything she did. The drop of a head as she bent over her sewing was curiously tranquil. Her skin - for this was her sixth month with child - had acquired a wonderful translucent quality, the mouth was soft, and the eyes, with their new placid look, seemed larger darker than before. When the clock said ten minutes to five, she began to listen, and a few moments later, punctually as always, she hear

brewers they just put in the break rooms." I grinned. "No problem." "How sad is it that I don't have anything else for you?" He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Why don't I show you the accounts I'm working on and we'll go from there?" The rest of the day passed in a blur. Mark touched bases with two clients and had a long meeting with the creative team working on concept ideas for a trade school. It was a fascinating process seeing firsthand how the various departments picked up the baton from each other to carry a campaign from proposition to fruition. I might've stayed late just to get a better feel of the layout of the offices, but my phone rang at ten minutes to five. "Mark Garrity's office. Eva Tramell speaking." "Get your ass home so we can go out for the drink you rain-checked on yesterday." Cary's mock sternness made me smile. "All right, all right. I'm coming

Oliver twist - kokkuvõte

Chapter1: An unknown woman was found lying in the street and brought into the workhouse. She delivered a sickly child who had trouble breathing. The woman, without a word of who she was, died and left her new born boy, Oliver, to the drunken nurse that stood by. Chapter2: The State gave Oliver to Mrs. Mann who housed a number of orphaned children. Mrs. Mann took a large portion of the money given to her by the authorities for each child's food so Oliver grew up small and malnourished. On his ninth birthday, the town beadle, Mr. Bumble, came to collect Oliver and take him to the board for an interview. They told him he was to live with other wards of the state to become educated and learn a trade. Oliver did not mind this, but soon after he arrived, the state decided to implement a plan that would save money by feeding the people very little. After a time on this diet, the boys at the table chose Oliver to go ask the head cook for more gruel. Oliver did this, and was taken away. A flye

A New Beginning

A NEW BEGINNING It was a dark and a silent night, when two young riders dressed within black rushed across the Devil`s Field. Suddenly one of them stopped and glanced at the moonless sky. His horse felt nervous, imitating the feelings of his rider. The other man seized his horse as well and looked at his companion in a curious way. After a minute or two spent in abnormal silence the first rider cried out as loud as he could: "Run!" The second man jumped off his horse and rushed to the forest that was waiting some meters ahead. But then he remembered about the other rider, but when he turned the Devil`s Field was empty. His companion was gone as well the horses. The man was seriously scared now, but since he was one of the Royal Solders fear was not allowed to be shown in public. So he drew his half-iron, half-silver sword and decided to go back to the field, but then he thought: "Alec told me to run...It means I mustn`t return to That place a

Heartless

Heartless It was one late evening when a little blond girl, aged between 7-8, ran quietly across the Ninth Avenue and entered one of the old houses that were lining the road. Inside she went smoothly though the corridors and soon reached a wooden door. After knocking twice a voice from inside called "Enter!" and the child went in. The room was filled with the smoke of numberless cigarettes. The girl, however, made no emotion and came closer to the old and ugly man sitting behind the table. "I wasn't lucky today, Grandpa," whispered the child and her light blue eyes filled with tears as she talked. The man smoked soundlessly, not even glancing at the girl. "But I'll go again, tomorrow, and bring you twice the money! I promise! So don't punish me, okay?" The man stood up and walked slowly towards the girl. "I promised your mother to take care of you, yet, if you are useless in even collecting money from the rich, I can't help you! This is the end, Hear
