Other players mainly use their feet to strike or pass the ball, but may also use their head or torso. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. ME AND BASKETBALL ,,I want to make my body more balanced trough sport." (Socrates) Basketball is one of the world's most popular and widely viewed sports. Basketball was invented 1891 in Springfield by the local university physical education teacher James Naismith. He was trying to keep his gym class active on a rainy day. He sought a vigorous indoor game to keep his students occupied and at proper levels of fitness during the long New England winters. After rejecting other ideas as either too rough or poorly suited to walled-in gymnasiums, he wrote the basic rules and nailed a peach basket onto a 3,05 m elevated track. In contrast with modern basketball nets, this peach basket retained its bottom, and balls had to be retrieved manually after each "basket" or point scored. In January 1892 there was also the first official

Rest and relaxation are as important as sleep. After hard work or exercise, a person may need a period of total rest. At other times, only relaxation or a change of pace is necessary. Any activity that differs from the normal routine of work or study can be relaxing. Handling stress is essential for avoiding both mental and physical illness. Feelings of stress are the body's response to any threatening or unfamiliar situation. Stress can occur even in pleasant situations, such as watching a football game. If not handled properly, stress can lead to physical and emotional illness. No one can avoid stress, but a person can lessen the danger of becoming ill from it. Everyone should learn to relax by resting, taking a walk, meditating. Sports are organized athletic activities played individually or in teams. Men and women, boys and girls can play most sports. It is believed that the ancestors of Canadian Inuit were inland hunters who adapted their lifestyle to new conditions. Some of them lived near the coast and began to hunt seals and walruses. Their main diet consisted of marine mammals and fish. Others never went to sea but hunted game in nearby areas. The traditional dwelling where the Inuit lived used to be an igloo, which is a domeshaped house built out of blocks of ice. The Inuit traveled in a sledge pulled by dogs and their main weapon was the harpoon. For many centuries, the Canadian Inuit lived in nearly total isolation. Only at the beginning of the 19th century were they more permanent trading relations with whale hunters and fur merchants

It is one of the official languages of the United Nations. According to research by the British Council, around 375 million people in the world speak English as their native language and English has official or special status in at least seventy-five countries. The British Council has also noted that English is the main language of newspapers, airports and air-traffic control, international business and academic conferences, science, technology, diplomacy and sport. Perhaps even more important contributor to the dominant role of the English language in the world is that over two-thirds of the world's scientists are able to read in English. Three quarters of the world's mail is written in English and eighty per cent of the world's electronic information is stored in English. The biggest countries where English is spoken as the first language are: Great Britain, Canada, United States of America and Australia.

Slovaks felt the same about their Hungarian rulers. Many defected to renegade legions fighting against the Germans and Austrians. Meanwhile Tomás Garrigue Masaryk, Edvard Benes and the Slovak Milan Stefánik began to argue the case - especially in the USA with President Wilson - for the Czechs' and Slovaks' long-cherished dream of independence. Wilson's interest was in keeping with his own goal of closer ties with Europe under the aegis of the League of Nations (the unsuccessful precursor 9 to the United Nations). The most workable solution appeared to be a single federal state of two equal republics, and this was spelled out in agreements signed in Cleveland in 1915 and then in Pittsburgh in 1918. As WWI drew to a close Czechoslovakia declared its independence, with Allied support, on 28 October 1918
