It's not a solid rocky substance but a compound substance. That would have been kind of a liquid or jem. Also it is said that the philospher's stone is a unusually heavy red powder or sometimes a red stone. But you also encounter it a yellow waxy material perhaps something like amber. The philosopher's stone isn't can't be found but instead you have to creat it. The problem is that no one know excaktly how. Why did they look for a philosopher's stone? Because besides the ability to make base metals into noble ones it was said to have another even greater power. It could potentionally make the holder of philospher's stone immortal. So the stakes were high. Everybody knew that they could rule the world with this mysthical substance. But now everybody believed in it. Mixing together diferent substances probably shorten their life span by decades. They spent their lives to find it but I don't think that they managed it. Why i would like to have a philosopher's stone

3 Energy Dividends You Can Still Trust

number of energyrelated dividends. All that said, there are a few energy dividends that investors can still trust. Here are three companies that have been making their dividend a priority. Jason Hall After Kinder Morgan's stunning announcement that it would cut its rocksolid (or so I thought) dividend by 75%, just days after announcing that it would generate plenty enough cash in 2016 to cover payouts, it's hard to put much trust in any energy company's ability to pay a steady divvy. As you can see above, Phillips 66's dividend only consumes 24% of profits. That leaves the company with a pile of money to invest back in the business (both for upkeep and expansion) and activities like share buybacks. The elephant in the corner is oil and natural gas prices, right? Not so fast. Phillips 66 may not be completely immune from energy prices, but it's structurally much less affected than the majority of the industry. The company's refining segment

How far can we go being tolerant?

How far can we go being tolerant? One of our most valuable and rare qualities is tolerance. It is the ability to see things from the other side, capability to take our companions as equal and bravery to show out all those things. Just like all valuable things are uncommon, tolerance is rare too. It is caused by the fact that comparing to the previous centuries people have changed more self-centered and envious, forgetting others around. Tolerance as a characteristic feature is an acknowledged ideal in today`s modern society. The democratic state is based on tolerance. Over the last few years the

The show ran for five seasons on the NBC television network, from January 23, 1983 to December 30, 1986 (with one additional, previously unbroadcast episode shown on March 8, 1987), for a total of 98 episodes. Story The show remains prominent in popular culture for its cartoonish, over-the-top violence (in which people were seldom seriously hurt), formulaic episodes, its characters' ability to form weaponry and vehicles out of old parts, and its distinctive theme tune. The show boosted the career of Mr. T, who portrayed the character of B. A. Baracus, around whom the show was initially conceived. [1][2] Some of the show's catchphrases, such as "I love it when a plan comes together,"[3] "Hannibal's on the jazz," and "I ain't gettin' on no plane!" have also made their way onto T-shirts and other merchandise. Metallica concert review

Metallica concert review The concert I will be review about is Metallica.Specifically, the Metallica concert in Finland ,Helsinki- may 11,2018..Metallica performed 18 songs from the following albums: Kill ‘Em All (2), Ride the Lightning (3), Master of Puppets (2), …And Justice for All (1), Metallica (4), Reload (1), and Hardwired…To Self-Destruct (5).Metal music is powerful music, but what I mean here is that Metallica is powerful as a band. Their ability to emotionally connect with fans all over the world is indeed a powerful thing. Metallica has been a constant presence for 30+ years in pop culture.Metallica has influenced plenty of rock and metal artists these days, like Sepultura, KoRn, Slipknot, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, and avenged septuple. In a review of their concert, it was amazing. Their melodic touch to the “trashiness” was beautifully placed and gave their songs an edge over the others.

However there are many factors which shorten the lifetime of concrete (slide) such as: physical attacks, including frost damage, fire, wind and water waves and chemical attacks including sulfates, sea water, acids, alkali-silica reactions and of course corrosion of embedded steel. Imagination will make us infinite

Imagination will make us infinite Can you imagine life without imagination? Now i know that sounds like a silly question, but really think about it. What if we didn’t have the ability to mentally time travel and we were froced to live and think in the present moment at all times? To be perfectly honest, life couldn’t exist this way. You see imagination at its core is the beginning of all creation. Everything that we see, everything that we touch, all came from someones thought. Their imagination running wild. Albert Einstein said that “Imagination is more important than knowledge, because with knowledge we are limited to everything we know and understand,

Gender equality in higher positions of companies

It shows that women are somehow weaker, fragile and need help for everything. And this on the other hand, will cause a situation where females will receive less credit for their jobs, even if they do their work really well. Every person is unique and has their own set of skills. Companies have to value people's experience, qualification and education more than their gender, race, sexual orientation or other personal aspects. Those have nothing to do with the ability of someone doing the job or how this individual will bring profit to the company. So, no company should hire or even make a job interview with a woman just because she is a woman. Vice versa, if a woman is turned down by a company just because she is a woman, is already a serious discrimination. Some parts of the he society have taken an opinion that women have to maintain their family and children. Our society itself has a negative viewpoint towards working

Might the Welsh language face a bright future?

Might the Welsh language face a bright future? Welsh belongs to a branch of Celtic, an Indo-European language. The language is being used about half a million people in Wales and possibly another few hundred thousand people within England and even Australia and United States of America. The normal language of every day life is still English but in some regions such as Gwynedd and Dyfed, the use of Welsh is very wide and well spread. The tendency nowadays is towards the development and introduction of Welsh. This could not have been said at the first part of the 20th century. Welsh have been under the reign or a part of Great Britain for a long time. During the 16 th century, particularly at the time of Henry the VIII, they tried to force the Welsh language out by an Act which declared that the language to be used in courts and administrative offices would have to be English. And of course the most natural process ...

All of the leaves are replete (packed with nutrients). Some examples of these kinds of plant are Turpentine Bush, Prickly Pears, and Brittle Bush. For all of these plants to survive they have to have adaptations. Some of the adaptations in this case are the ability to store water for long periods of time and the ability to stand the hot weather. Animals Animals in Saudi-Arabia deserts include small nocturnal (only active at night) carnivores. There are also insects, arachnids, reptiles, and birds. Some examples of these animals are Borrowers, Mourning Wheatears, and Horned Vipers. Agriculture It has long been recognized that the importance of agriculture to the Kingdom extends beyond that of its contribution to national output alone.

The Noble Savage in the 20th Century Fiction

The Noble Savage in 20th Century Fiction Pop culture has a important part in shaping the mind of today's people. A large part of pop culture consists of stories which have the ability to change a person his take on life, taste in music and books, how to treat other people etc. It may seem simple and pointless but all the devoted fans, all the trekkies, warsies, twihards, potterheads and ringers (there are many more, with crazier names) prove us that stories can become more than entertainment. Of course, a story can change people without making them go to all sorts of conventions. Even the small ideas make a change.

ways. Importance of women´s individual preferences and her insistence should be taken under consideration. It cannot be assumed that women are only at home because of obstacles to labour force participation. Women are not necessarily exploited because they work in part-time low paid sectors, but rather that this is the result of choice to prioritize home life. Womens didn´t see themselves as exploited, instead they valued what work gave them: freedom, social networks, ability to escape the house and the power within the home. Individual women´s aspirations have to be investigated, rather than deduced from social policies or official ideologies. Full time work can be the result of contingent and almost random events in women´s life, rather than particular lifestyle. Women can have some expectations entering into the labour market with a particular orientation, but this expectation may not be permanently fulfilled. So decisions, regarding to

Governments should provide it for free because university might not be as essential as say learning to write but it is increasingly important in the modern world. Jobs in developed nations are becoming much more specialised and service based. You cannot (for example) just turn up at a computer software company and `learn the trade' like you could at a coal mine in years past. Skills needed today are more complex and depend on scientific and mathematical knowledge, and/or an ability to think about abstract concepts. Such understanding can only be taught in higher education institutions. The point of education is to allow opportunity. As opportunities change, so must our education systems. Also why do pay the university costs yourself is that you already have education free till the end of high school. So what do you want more from the Government? Government makes big spendings to education because they know that this is their country's future at stake

something he was unable to do. After inviting several doctors to the Palace his wife introduced him with an Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue. Lionel was an ordinary man, but with unconventional approach - he started to call Prince Albert as Bertie, refused to visit his patient at his Palace etc. However the special speech exercises and gradually strengthening friendship with Lionel helped King George VI to get back his confidence and ability to give speeches. His radio- address where he led his country to the war became a turning point. Winston Churchill has been saying earlier in the film that "when Germans will come, we would need a king we can all stand behind". After this radio-address George VI became such a king for his country. I enjoyed this film because I like historical movies where everything studied at school or read from the books becomes real. But this particular story offered more than that. It deeply touched my heart

Estonian school system is obsolescent in my opinion. Children have to memorize a lot in Estonia, although Internet and libraries have all the answers. I think it´s a problem at this time that children in Estonia haven´t as developed ability to find the answers and think of their own as children in USA or Great Britain. Higher education system is pretty much the same in Estonia and Great Britain. Estonian and Great Britain student gets Bachelor's degree in three years, in America within four years. War on terror

political opposition and radicalism has been key to understanding various events and movements that go back even further, to the Islamic Revolution in Iran, for example. The "war on terror" has created a culture of fear in America. The Bush administration's elevation of these three words into a national mantra since the horrific events of 9/11 has had a pernicious impact on American democracy, on America's psyche and on U.S. standing in the world. Using this phrase has actually undermined our ability to effectively confront the real challenges we face from fanatics who may use terrorism against us. Although the term is not officially used by the administration of US President Barack Obama, it is still commonly used by politicians, in the media and officially by some aspects of government, such as the Army's Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. In the meantime, the "war on terror" has gravely damaged the United States internationally

Instead, Zeus is overthrown, which allows Prometheus to be released. 1821 A Defence of Poetry is an essay, first published posthumously in 1840. It was written in response to his friend Thomas Love Peacock's article The Four Ages of Poetry, where Peacock claimed that poetry though beautiful is utterly useless. Shelley argues that poetry brings about moral good, exercises and expands the imagination, and the imagination is the source of sympathy, compassion, and love, which rest on the ability to project oneself into the position of another person. 1822 The triumph of Life an elegy, unfinished, published in 1824 after Shelley died. They clearly like their work, but they do not see the opportunities for advancement and support that allow them to use their full capacities. This may have a negative impact on ONR's ability to recruit high quality people. Some of the differences in perceptions between men and women are striking. While these perceptions can in no way be attributed to every woman or every man at ONR, they were expressed by enough members of each group to be noteworthy. How far can we go being tolerant?

Tolerance is the ability to be fair and understanding to people whose ways and opinions are different from one's own. It seems like a good and challenging streak to have, but the question is, how far we can go with it. I would say not very far. More and more media and public encourage us to be tolerant to homosexuals and their lifestyle and many countries have actually made their marriages legal and tolerate them. Also, there have been numerous discussions on whether they should have the right to have, adopt and raise children. To me, it is absolutely unacceptable because this is not normal. They could have good facilities for bringing up children and lots of love to give them, but in my eyes it just is not suitable for a child. How could a child live a normal life having to live with two mothers or two fathers? It may sound very intolerant and rude from my part, but I do not think any child could live like that and have a normal...

Report for Frankenstein

I really enjoyed reading this book because I adore horror movies and ghost books. It was deep, touching, sad and exciting. I believe that Mary Shelley tried to show that we should not judge people by their appearance and that we should look in the person's character deeper. The society should be more tolerant and kind. Luckily nowadays this is not such a big problem as it used to be. I liked the eloquent writing style and the authors' ability to put real emotions into the story. It made me feel empathic sometimes for Victor and sometimes for the monster. The book illustrates the good and evil qualities of its main characters and shows how weak and frightened people can be. I do think that this story will remain popular because it has inspired many other books and movies and therefore it's theme remains relevant. Conclusion In conclusion I would like to say that the book was interesting and gripping. I would

Henry Moore

HENRY MOORE Henry Moore was born on the 30th of July in 1898. He was an English sculptor and artist. He was best known for his abstract bronze sculptures which are located around the world. He was also the most celebrated sculptor of his time, and the second part of his career, in particular, demonstrated that Modernist sculpture was surprisingly adaptable to official needs. In this sense, Moore was the contemporary equivalent of the great Neo Classical sculptors such as Canova and Thorwaldsen. Moore was born in Castleford as the son of a mining engineer. He became well-known through his large-scale abstract cast bronze and carved marble sculptures, and was instrumental in introducing a particular form of modernism to the United Kingdom. His ability in later life to fulfill large-scale commissions made him exceptionally wealthy. Yet he lived frugally and most of the money he earned went towards s...

Arvustus "The Queen"

There were also some things that I didn´t liked about the film. I didn´t liked the way how the Queen acted after Diana´s death. She didn´t showed her feelings and at first she didn´t even cry. To my mind it was very weird. I was quite disappointed because there wasn´t showed Diana´s accident. And what about music? I think there should be more music and sound effects. The actor who I liked the most was the one who played the prime minister, Tony Blair. I was impressed by his ability to change quickly his moods. At the one moment he was serious and the few minutes later he was joking and laughing. I didn´t liked Helen Mirren, who played the Queen. I think she was a little bit fake and I didn´t believe all the words what she said. Also I didn't liked that she was callous and apathetic. But when she had to play her role like that, she played it well. For me the film wasn´t exactly what I expected. Some scenes were boring and I couldn´t watch them without yawning

Steve Jobs Presentation

Jobs. In 1976, Wozniak invented the Apple I computer. Jobs, Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne founded Apple computer in the garage of Jobs's parents in order to sell it. In 1983, Jobs lured John Sculley away from PepsiCola to serve as Apple's CEO, asking, "Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to come with me and change the world?,, The Apple board of directors instructed Sculley to "contain" Jobs and limit his ability to launch expensive forays into untested products. Sculley learned that Jobs--believing Sculley to be "bad for Apple" and the wrong person to lead the company--had been attempting to organize a boardroom coup, and on May 24, 1985, he called a board meeting to resolve the matter. Apple's board of directors sided with Sculley and removed Jobs from his managerial duties as head of the Macintosh division. Jobs resigned from Apple five months later and founded NeXT Inc.

Helen keller ja Anne Sullivan

1. Helen Keller was born in a small town called Tuscumbia, Alabama, on an estate called Ivy Green. She was born on 27 July, 1880, and her parents were Kate Adams Keller and Colonel Arthur Keller. At first she could talk and see but on February 1882 when Helen was 19 months old she became extremely ill and lost her ability to hear and see. (Due to a protruding(väljaulatuv) left eye, she was usually photographed in profile.) Both her eyes were replaced in adulthood with glass replicas. 2. Learning was tough for Helen. Because of her deafness and blindness, no one could get through to her, and she could not communicate with others. Basic rules and lessons made no sense to her, and she was called a "wild child." Then, in 1886, her mom heard

After graduation

Mait Rõõmus Mr. Savala English 4 26 September 2013 Prompt #3 We all have to make a decision about what to do with our lives after graduating from high school. Many people start to think about it in their early years. Some of us struggle with it even after graduating. Lucky are those who have had a specific goal in mind for long enough where they can keep an eye on the target and know what they need to do and work on it right away. Aviation has always been one of my biggest intrests since the eighth grade. I became interested in it after my brother had applied to the Estonian Aviation Academy. Unfortunately he did not make it and, of course, my desire to become an air traffic controller began to increase due to my brother's failure. I have never really had a real experience in aviation. Luckily, I had a chance to be a work shadow to a professional air traffic contr...

Character sketch - Sal Paradise, On the Road by Jack Kerouac

For example, Sal is intrigued by Rickey, the mañana guy, who feels no guilt at never working and puts off almost everything. Sal likes Rickey's lifestyle and tries it himself, but after two days realises that he can't live like that. In conclusion, Sal is a people's person, but feels loneliness nevertheless. He is greatly influenced by Dean Moriarty who gets them into dangerous and stupid situations. Dean inspires Sal and Sal wants to be more like him: brave, spontaneous and to have the ability to pick up girls easily. Sal is not good with women and usually leaves them when the relationship becomes serious or complicated. In my opinion, Sal has no backbone. He doesn't know what he wants from life thus he does everything Dean wants. I was actually proud when Sal didn't go with Dean at the end of the book.

Fashion

Everybody can do it. But yes! For all age groups, fashion is different. You can express your personality through fashion and you can express others how you feel. If I speak for myself, if I am wearing tight fitting or short clothes, I can never feel good about myself. But, if I wear comfortable clothes of nice colours ,then I feel I am the coolest person in the world and forget all the worries. I feel too much confidence in myself. I believe that fashion has the ability to transform you into a new personality, a different person. Most of the styles are applied by teenagers. They always want something unique and a new style that differs him/her from others. Therefore, they create a new line of fashion trends to keep their own identity as a teenager. The following conclusions are: 1. Fashion plays a big role in young people’s development. 4 2.Fashion helps young people to express their personality. 3

What is the best age to be?

depends on your parents´ mood at that time. Some examples like where you have to be home at 9.00pm and no TV until you´ve cleaned your room. Also then you have problems, but only the ones generated at school. Childhood has many responsibilities, some we like, some we have to do and some we despise. Responsibilities some of us enjoy doing is homework. We get a sense of pleasure after finishing a piece of work that we have done to the best of our ability. Cleaning our rooms is a responsibility we must do both for hygienic and ,if I don't I will get punished, reasons. A responsibility we despise doing is anything that clashes with our free/play time. These are just some of the things in childhood that we are responsible for. First ten years are full of joy and happiness and 10-20 there is 1st love, first date, first car. When you grow up, the problems change, but the way you see the life changes too. Adults on the

The euro in Estonia

In 1995 on 25th November Estonian prime minister Tiit Vähi signed the Kati-Liis Karu 03.01.2011 application, which requested the accession of Estonia into the European Union. As mentioned before, Estonia joined the European Union in 2004. When "we" signed the contract, we also accepted the simple main terms: stable institutions, that can guarantee the democracy and the protection and respect of human rights and minorities; a functioning market economy and the ability to cope with the pressure of competition and market forces within the EU; ability to meet the obligations of membership, including the support for the goals. Country's administrative system must be capable of applying EU laws and put them to use. According to Vahur Kraft, the leader of Estonian Nordea Bank, the euro creates many new opportunities for the country's economy and the society as a whole.

Psühholoogia bioloogiline-, kognitiivne- ja sotsiaalne vaade

The production of melatonin by the pineal gland is stimulated by darkness and inhibited by light. Melatonin levels peak in the middle of the night and decrease towards the morning. As the days get darker, we become tired more early. The use of artificial light can increase the awake time dramatically. Melatonin release correlates to our circadian cycle the biological clock based on the 24-hour day/night cycle. It is suggested that taking melatonin in the early evening may improve one's ability to fall asleep. However, there is evidence that higher levels of melatonin contribute to SAD a subcategory of depression that is characterized by sleepiness and lethargy. Discuss two effects of the environment on physiological processes. Brain plasticity refers to the brain's ability to rearrange the connections between its neurons (the changes that occur in the structure of the brain as a result of learning or experience)
