Hip-hop

New York City in the 1970s, predominantly among African Americans and Latino Americans.[1][2] The term rap is often used synonymously with hip hop music. Rapping, also referred to as MCing or emceeing, is a vocal style in which the performer speaks rhythmically and in rhyme, generally to a beat, recently, however, a difference has developed between "rapping" and "MCing". "MCing" has been used to describe those artists who possess and exercise superior lyrical ability and prowess. Beats are traditionally generated from portions of other songs by a DJ, or sampled from portions of other songs by a producer, though synthesizers, drum machines, and live bands are also used, especially in newer music. Rappers may perform poetry which they have written ahead of time, or improvise rhymes on the spot with or without a beat. Though rap is usually an integral component of hip hop music, DJs sometimes perform and record alone,

forces you to think out your sentences and chose your words more carefully. I agree that while typing we simply type whatever comes to mind and completely. This creates less don't think through our ideas effective points and poorer results. A main problem I notice when I write essays on my laptop, is all of the distractions that come along with using the computer. I have music and internet at my fingertips and this can dramatically change the quality of writing. With the ability to distract yourself with entertainment it is far too easy to ignore your assignment and encourage writers block. The screen also is tiring to look at and gives me a headache after a while. There are benefits of writing on the computer with word processing software. The writing process is much faster than hand writing. Making corrections and editing your essay is much easier on the computer. While writing Microsoft Word automatically corrects minor spelling errors and capitalizes words for you

When a world loses a language it loses a unique treasure

When my stomach hurt, my mother used to read those lines to me: '' Kiirmus-kaarmus Varesele valu Harakale haigus Mustale linnule muu tõbi Meie laps saab varsti terveks.'' And beside human knowledge and cultural heritage, we will lose a knowledge of human cognition and our ability to understand how the mind organizes and processes information. We don't know how our mind works. We only know its thoughts by what comes out of it in a form of a speech. We express ourselves through a language. We must cherish and keep our languages, pass it on to our children. Also, we need to document endangered languages and encourage them to write them down and pass it on. Because, if we don't, we will lose a unique treasure.

Summary

” (Owen, 2013) Because of the drone-induced anxieties, most kids in Waziristan no longer attend school. People avoid daily activities such as grocery shopping, farming, and driving. People worry constantly about their immediate future, this kind of behaviour is symptomatic of “anticipatory anxiety”. Which causes emotional breakdowns, running indoors for safety, hiding during the day, having nightmares, and other anxiety-related problems which dramatically affect their ability to live their lives. They have trust issues and desire for revenge. (Owen, 2013) Nevertheless, drone warfare is as horrible as a Tomahawk cruise missile fired from a distant ship or a bomb dropped by a high-flying fighter plane. (Beautmont, 2012) Now, unlike a jet pilot or artilleryman who cannot see the target, aircrafts remote pilot can see the target it is about to hit. If you must go out in the snow, drive extra slow, use the brakes and gas pedal gently, and maintain an increased stopping distance. 4 4 Never get into a car with a drunk driver. It is always best to have a "designated driver". Never drive after you have had alcoholic beverages. Even one beer can alter your ability to drive safely. 5 5 Wear a seatbelt. This is a must. By law in many countries, all cars must have a safety restraint. Buckling up only takes a second and can save your life in an accident. innovation system can help identify leverage points for enhancing innovative performance and overall competitiveness. It can assist in pinpointing mismatches within the system, both among institutions and in relation to government policies, which can thwart technology development and innovation. Policies which seek to improve networking among the actors and institutions in the system and which aim at enhancing the innovative capacity of firms, particularly their ability to identify and absorb technologies, are most valuable in this context. The measurement and assessment of national innovation systems has centred on four types of knowledge or information flows: 1) interactions among enterprises, primarily joint research activities and other technical collaborations; 2) interactions among enterprises, universities and public research institutes, including joint research, co-patenting, co--

The Life of Dante, the Inferno of Dante

Dante felt he was a victim of a grave injustice. He also suffered serious self-doubts, natural for a man in exile. His works reflect his experiences and attempts to answer some of life's difficult questions. In 1968, Allen Tate, a conservative thinker and a convert to Catholicism, wrote "The Unilateral Imagination; or, I too Dislike it", in his Essays of Four Decades. This critique was established from a lecture given by Tate in 1955 based on his works. An example of Dante's ability to tell so much in one single word was expressed by Tate when he cited the word "ombre" which translates "shades," to remind us of the continuity of the Christian Hell and Virgil's pagan Hades. "Shades" are referred to as three-dimensional bodies, able to feel pain as if they were alive in solid ice and immobile, yet to have the intensity of fire. If Dante had tried to touch one of them, his hand would have met no physical resistance since the shades would melt into the air.

Internet piracy

This loss comes as a direct result of internet piracy. Many agree that file sharing is unethical and consider it to be no different than downright theft. On the other hand, there are those that support file sharing and claim that their actions are easily justified and ethical. File sharing simply is the process of making available and distributing files via the internet. Many freely developed applications have been made available that simplify this process, providing the ability to easily search for and upload any piece of digital content imaginable. These applications are commonly referred to as peer-to-peer (P2P) applications as they allow individuals to directly connect with other peers to share files. P2P networks are probably the most common and accessible to the average internet user, there are a host of other applications or methods that provide the same services and in many cases faster access to more content.

6 Using Boost Selection, set the variable torque boost to 30.0 VT. Run the motor The spring effect was at very low speed (2-3 Hz). Suspend weak. warily the motor shaft with fingers. Observe the spring effect (strong or weak?). Stop the motor. 4. Solutions of the problems 1.1 What dictates the maximal voltage of the drive? Why is it limited? Maximal voltage voltage is determined by the drive manufacturer and is usually dictated by the motors ability to dissipate excess thermal energy that comes from the internal resistance of windings. Applying excessive voltage can cause the motor to run inefficently, components to wear out prematurely or cause permanent damage to the motor from excess heat disspation. 1.2 What parameter sets a mode of the drive operation? What modes exist? From the laboratory manual, I found 3 parameters that determine motor operation modes: Parameter P036 sets Start Source.

Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief A film review by Bill Gibron The new Harry Potter wannabe, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, gets so many things right that when it goes astray (which happens with more and more frequency as it goes along) you kind of wish it hadn't tried in the first place. Unless your last name is Harryhausen, you shouldn't really maneuver Greek mythology, and you definitely don't need to use it as a source from some Shrek-inspired collection of tired pop culture riffs. Yet that's exactly what this Chris Columbus helmed half-success does. We begin by learning that the fabled gods of old do exist, and that Zeus is especially mad at brother Poseidon. Seems the head hocho's magical lightning bolt has been stolen, and each accuses the other of using the crime as a means of starting an all out Olympian war. Zeus specifically blames Poseidon's son, Percy Jackson, and soon, all th...

Interview with Chinese lecturer

Since then she has taught in various universities in Tallinn. In her opinion the main differences that affect the teaching of Chinese in China and Estonia are the purpose of teaching, the authority that the teacher has, and the language environment of the country. In Estonia one of the main purposes of teaching Chinese is to increase the knowledge of China and Chinese culture in addition to the teaching the language. In China on the other hand the purpose is often to increase the ability of students to survive in the society, find work, and do business. The lecturer believes that the amount of authority and respect the Chinese language teachers receive from overseas students in China is related to the purpose of teaching. In China, the Chinese language studies often hold more importance for the students, since most of them have come to China from poorer countries in Asia hoping to earn more money and have a better life in China than they would in their own countries

Eclipse chapter10(Scent)-kokkuvõte

But Jacob goes up and inspects the area like he was asked to. When Jacob returns he says that he caught the scent. As Bella washes the dishes, Jacob begins to ask her questions about her and Edward's relationship, centering on how she feels about him being a vampire and when she is planning on being changed. The anger and sadness of her answer, and the fact that it will be so soon after graduation, causes Jacob to clench down on a knife in his hand and cut himself badly. Bella witnesses his ability to heal quickly and it leaves her astonished. Jacob invites Bella to the reservation for a bonfire party, and Bella tells him she would ask if it was ok. With that Jacob leaves and Edward returns from where he was waiting just outside the house. Edward asks about the bloody knife Bella accidentally left on the counter after her bleach- filled cleaning frenzy from when Jacob cut himself, and she tells him what happened. Edward

CHANGE YOUR THINKING CHANGE YOUR LIFE

And your actions are under your direct control, whereas your emotions are not. In and of themselves, the outer aspects of your life are neutral. It is only the meaning that you give to them that determines your attitudes, opinions, emotions, and reactions to them. If you change your thinking about any part of your life, you will change how you feel and behave in that area. And since only you can de- cide what to think, you have the ability to take complete control over your life. ■ QUESTION YOUR BELIEFS The Law of Belief says: Whatever you believe, with conviction, be- comes your reality. You always act in a manner consistent with your deepest and most intensely held beliefs, whether they are true or not. And all your beliefs are learned. At one time, you did not have them. Your beliefs largely determine your reality. You do not believe

them about our favourite topics. Messengers also allow us to connect to your friends across the world and talk to them. We use computers to talk and chat with people all over the world. Often we lose our sence of time for this and don't even accept the fact that it is not useful for us. It has been reported that programmers after a long time of working with computers began to relate to others in the same way than they did to their computer. They begin to loose relational skills especially the ability to synchronize with group behavior or other human to human relatioships. The fact that programmers use computers more than us, doesn't change the fact that it could affect us the same. Although it is good to talk to people using computers, one should always prefer communicating people in real-life. We use computers daily, but do we accept the fact that long-term using of computers is affecting out health? Working for hours on end with a computer is now a fact of life.

But I have some relatives younger than I am. The youngest is 9 right now. We see a kid with a tremendous ability and we think right away that he or she is so talented. Actually, what I think is that kid had just found something he/she feels passinoate about and practiced a lot. Of course there are some super kids, who haven’t practiced that much but are still very good at what they’re doing. Just not that much as much we think there are. I mean, for a kid it’s easy to look talented. Ken Robinson gave his son as an example - the part where his son plays Joseph and switches the

Decriminalizing Cannabis in Estonia

Decriminalizing Cannabis in Estonia. Estonia is the leading country in Europe with the highest number of drug fatalities per capita, deaths by fentanyl are raising and current drug policy is not doing its job. According to the most recent data, Estonia's overdose mortality rate is seven times the average in the EU. This is a big concern for a country as little as Estonia, and also a reason why the decriminalizing cannabis topic has grown so popular lately. Cannabis, as a soft drug, is criminalized in Estonia and that fact leads people to go after stronger drugs because by the law they are on the same scale. The popularity of “China white” is growing in Estonia, as it is so easily accessible, but so does the mortality rate because it is very easy to overdose on fentanyl. Estonia should re- form its drug policy because stricter laws and punishments do not change society for the better and current drug polic...

English Lexicology

Suppose one has to interpret the idiom " ( -. )" which is rather frequently used in the Russian press. The interpreter who wants to make his translation idiomatic has to look up a dictionary of Russian idioms to be sure of the idiom's meaning, and then to find in a dictionary of English idioms an adequate English idiom. important Idioms are in such great use by society in general that the ability to understand idioms is essential to being able to comprehend the meaning of what is being communicated. My suggestion how to learn idioms: Get a copy of Scholastic's Dictionary of Idioms by Marvin Terban. It explains more than 600 phrases, sayings, and expressions, the vast majority of which are in everyday usage: To take an idiom self-test Play some fun, interactive idiom games Discuss cartoons about idioms or read & discuss some idiom-

Essay living forever

Secondly let’s have a look at the advantages. I think that one key benefit to being around forever would be the experience gained during this eternity. Anything and everything on our list of "to-do" could be completed - whether that would be traveling to far-off destinations and around the world, experiencing exotic tastefull foods or sleeping 20 hours a day. Another positive , at least for most people , would be the ability to experience the future. An eternal being could experience the future technologies. With each new discovery that shakes the fields of science, we would be there. Learning, educating and absorbing information daily takes up lots of time. With a life of eternity, we could learn endlessly. We could learn as many languages as we wanted and we could read every book that has ever been on our "to-do" lists.

Caffeine

15 found in a cup of coffee. However, more than half of all American adults consume more than 300 16 mg of caffeine every day, which makes it America's most popular drug. Caffeine is generally 17 consumed in coffee, cola, chocolate, and tea, although it is also available over-the-counter as a 18 stimulant. 19 Caffeine is believed to work by blocking adenosine receptors in the brain and other organs. This 20 reduces the ability of adenosine to bind to the receptors, which would slow down cellular 21 activity. The stimulated nerve cells release the hormone epinephrine (adrenaline), which 22 increases heart rate, blood pressure, and blood flow to muscles, decreases blood flow to the skin 23 and organs, and causes the liver to release glucose. Caffeine also increases levels of the 24 neurotransmitter dopamine. 25 Part of the reason caffeine is classified by the Food and Drug Administration as generally

Children start school at the age of 5 or 6 and continue until the age of 18. Primary or grade school starts from the first grade up to the sixth grade. Then students attend middle school also called junior high school for three years. After middle school, students attend secondary schools, which are called "high schools" from ninth to twelfth grades. The idea of secondary school is to get a high school diploma. Dorian Gray, Lord Henry Wotton, Basil Hallward

fighting his demons in the inside. He is not worth anyone's affection or jealousy. Basil Hallward Basil is the perfect example of an isolated artist. He has a talent and his paintings are beautiful but as a perfectionist he is eager to point out mistakes. As art is his true passion, Basil puts his heart and soul into it. That is what makes him a bit paranoid, thinking that some of his paintings reveal too much of himself. He lacks the ability to look himself through other's eyes and understand that even though he may see the world in his work, others see it only as a pretty portrait. Basil struggles with his privacy issues as part of him wishes to share his art with others, but the other part is shy and protective over the paintings. If you get to know him, you'll find out that there is more to Basil than just art. He is a good natured but a bit obsessive person. He isn't necessarily a team player. Basil seeks out a person

Acid rain

Trees at high altitudes are also susceptible to problems induced by acidic cloud cover as the moisture in the clouds blankets them. Damage to forests by acid rain is seen all over the world, but the most advanced cases are in Eastern Europe. It's estimated that in Germany and Poland, half of the forests are damaged, while 30% in Switzerland have been affected. Finally, acid deposition also has an impact on architecture and art because of its ability to corrode certain materials. As acid lands on buildings (especially those constructed with limestone) it reacts with minerals in the stones sometimes causing it to disintegrate and wash away. Acid deposition can also corrode modern buildings, cars, railroad tracks, airplanes, steel bridges, and pipes above and below ground. What's Being Done? Because of these problems and the adverse effects air pollution has on human health, a

Why do we need morality?

Why do we need morality? As an English philosopher Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679) said, all humans are made equal in mental and physical abilities. This does not mean that all of us are equally strong, smart or beautiful, but that everyone has the ability to damage or kill the other. The main goals, we all want to achieve, are having a shelter, security, power, wealth and enough food. This means that people are constantly competing with each other and that makes all of us (who desire the same things) enemies. Hobbes names the insecurity and fear people feel towards each other a "state of nature". In this state there are no moral rules or enforced laws, also no justice or injustice. People, being

From a user’s point of view, resolution describes the ability to detect small objects in the point cloud. It determines the amount of points per an area. 15. In technical terms, what is scanning resolution, how it is divided? 16. The principle of data registration i.e. transformation. Identity as a personal project

Identity as a personal project How could be one identity created? Or is it creating itself? Or, maybe, every child is born with some kind of identity? There are many theories about what identity is and how it is developing, so in this essay I want to discuss A. Giddens´ text and my reflection about his theory. “It's like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. All the time. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story.” Patrick Rothfuss When talking about identity, it´s creation is a very important moment. To understand it, I was always thinking practically – I created a character, like in a movie or a book. What should happen first with the character, what factors influence the creation of individual identity? I agree to Giddens – person isn´t born with identity, everyone has to build and deve...

To a Skylark

Shelly asks the lark to teach him to sound as joyous because he says that none of the existent books could ever teach him such art. Shelly ends the poem by asking the bird to teach him at least half of his skills so that the world would listen to his poetry in the way he admires the Skylark's singing. Wordsworth Wordsworth's poem is more about the speaker rather than the bird. It also praises the lark and its ability to sound joyous but it concentrates more on the wish to reach the same heights as the bird. The poem starts with Wordsworth asking the bird to lift him up and teach him. He wishes to reach the place where the lark gets it's inspiration from. I have walked through wildernesses dreary And to-day my heart is weary; Had I now the wings of a Faery, Up to thee would I fly. These lines create the image that Wordsworth was walking in the woods when he saw a
