building. The facade was designed in a style characteristic of gothic Tallinn. The 16th century witnessed the addition of a gable tower with wind vane, as well as a light latern above the main portal. In 1551, the excise chamber was built at the end of Börsi passage facing Pikk street. The Great Guild Hall The wind vane and coat of arms In the 19th century, the Guild Hall's windows were remodelled in the neo-gothic style and the interior of the building was renovated. It was decorated with prominent neo-gothic doors. Originally the house consisted of two spacious halls. The grand hall was the largest hall in Tallinn used for secular purposes. The Great Guild Hall became one of the most important concert and exhibition venues in town. In the 18th century, the Great Guild began to rent out its facilities for public events. Throughout the centuries, the most varied array of events has taken place there.
Museum transports its adult visitors back to their most joyful childhood days and offers children plenty to see and do. The Tartu Toy Museum opened on 29 May 1994 under the auspices of the City Government of Tartu. The museum was located in the basement of a private house at the foot of Toome Hill and in a smaller adjoining building at the address 1 Lai St. In late 2003, the Tartu Toy Museum moved to its new location, an old wooden building on Lutsu Street, which had been specially renovated to house the museum. On 13 March 2004 a new permanent exhibit was opened, including a playroom and crafts room. The permanent exhibit displays toys that children in Estonia have played with throughout the ages. The display also includes artist-made dolls, souvenir dolls from around the globe and traditional Finno-Ugric toys. On 2 December 2005 the exhibit of movie- and theatre puppets was opened in the former coach house in the museum's courtyard, displaying characters, props and
Our school Põltsamaa Co-education Gymnasium was founded on 17. December of 1917. Põltsamaa Co-education Gymnasium celebrate school anniversary festively every year. That schoolhouse, where we study now, was built on 1967 and it was renovated on 2009. Head of school is Aimar Arula. There are studying 841 students in 37 classes. We have 4 terms September 1. until October 24., November 2. until December 24., January 11. until March 20. and March 29. until June 5. We get reports every end of the terms. We don't have school uniform, we're allowed to wear, what we want. School lunches are 20 minutes long. Food isn't and don't taste very well. That, when you can go to eat, depends on which number of class you are.
The first organ was built in 1869 by Gustav Normann. 1905 church started collecting money to get a better organ. In 1913 a real masterpiece of modern organ making was made. On the 16th April Saint John´s church got a new organ that was shipped from Germany. It was 6 metres high and 3 metres wide. Right now there should be approximately 4 organs in the church. People are worrying right now about the cracks in the floor of the just renovated church. The cracks were made from the constructions on the freedom square. If the cracks turn any bigger, then the tower of the church may fall bringing at least half of the church down with it. As you all know the churches are poor so feel free to donate to the church. That way you will go to heaven for a good deed. These are the numbers for donating with a bank account because that is much easier than going and donating by yourself.
I would like to buy a apartment – I am 25 years old and I have some saving, actually – a lots of savings. I have saved a lot of money to buy my dream apartment in Tallinn. What kind of apartment would I like to buy? The apartment has to be in the downtown, it would be perfect, if it is located in Tallinn’s old town. The apartment should definitely have excellent view to the old town, it should be large and wide. I would love, when the apartment is in old house and if it is renovated, but still has some vintage style. The most important thing is that the apartment has to have two or more floors. Good dream, huh? In fact, in old town, there is an apartment that fits to my requirements – apartments like that are expensive and I have to get a loan. I decided that I will take the loan from Swedbank, SEB or LHV, because they offer a loan, that has better conditions. So, let’s hope that I have gathered very much money – around 500 000€. My dream apartment costs
Since then the building has been maintained all the time and today it is the only example of a 17th-century summer-cottage in Estonian architecture and a valuable relic. The building became a popular sight among the people of Tallinn in the last quarter of the 19th century when the watchman of the house used to entertain the visitors with "true-life stories". The Tallinn City Museum got the building in 1941. Peter I House was hardly changed until 2004 when it was thoroughly renovated. The museum with a renewed display is now open also in wintertime.

Dear Madam, I wish to rent a 3 bedroom apartment in Võru city. I would like apartment to be situated near the city centre, bigger stores, kindergarten and school. Range should not be over 400 which includes public utility bills. It is important that apartment has full kitchen furniture, cellar and garage for car. However, the current reforms include attempts to sell, or have the state co-sponsor, several of these buildings and monuments, as well as sports facilities, as they are not seen as part of the university's mission proper. took place in 1958 and on 20 July the same year a branch museum of Tallinn City Museum was opened here. The extensive reconstruction in 1966-1968 aimed at finding a compromise between the 15th-16th century architecture, the 17th century reconstructions and the needs of a modern museum. New floors of flagstone plates were laid, a heating and running water systems were installed, the stairs were repaired and, to some extent, renovated. The earth part of the bastion outside was made lower in the southern and western sides. In the southern side the excavation was bordered with a protective wall and an entrance was built in this side. It led to the hall and auxiliary rooms. The annex and the original tower were connected by a former embrasure, thus the visitor gets to the first floor. The staircase that takes the visitor upstairs was made during the restoration in 1966-68.

Palladian architecture is in control. Here, on the Kentian mantel, the crowd of Chinese vases and mandarins are satirically rendered as hideous little monstrosities, and the Rococo wall clock is a jumble of leafy branches. In general, Rococo is an entirely interior style, because the wealthy and aristocratic moved back to Paris from Versailles. Paris was already built up and so rather than engaging in major architectural additions, they simply renovated the interiors of the existing buildings. Gothic art Gothic art was a Medieval art movement that developed in France out of Romanesque art in the mid-12th century, led by the concurrent development of Gothic architecture. It spread to all of Western Europe, but took over art more completely north of the Alps, never quite effacing more classical styles in Italy. In the late 14th century, the sophisticated court style of International

Both renovated and old wooden windows have practically no mould damage. The analysis of tape lift sampling showed that there was predominantly only airborne dirt. The high number of samples without a result (normal air pollution) indicates deficiencies in performance of ventilation. The microbiological examination of indoor air revealed that in the apartments of wooden buildings more than half of the measurements had less than 150 CFU/m3 (colony forming units) mould, which is a very good result
numerous individual approaches synthesising the classical with the modern. Graphic art was developing rapidly, thanks initially to the works of Eduard Wiiralt (1898-1954) whose mature, fantastic and sensual style developed during his Paris years, 1925-1939. His style would gain international reputation and a number of imitators. The stressed angular black-and-white contrast became obvious in drawings and even aquarelle of Ado Vabbe. The Estonian Drama Theatre was renovated. In 1920 the temperamental, active and demanding Paul Sepp (1885-1943), actor, stage producer and educator (trained in St. Petersburg), established an acting studio to cater for the demands of young and qualified actors. In search for contemporaneity of ideas and their artistic realisation influences came from the West. Most recognisable of these was German Expressionism (Hugo von Hofmannstahl, Georg Kaiser and others). The repertoire became more

who did not know Hebern sent him an abrupt and discourteous letter, discontinuing business with him. As Safford later put it, "They pulled the rug out from under Hebern and were not even polite about it." That virtually ended Hebern's chances, for although his machines were still in service, when they wore out in 1936 after carrying heavy loads of traffic they were replaced by another, non-Hebern cryptographic system. Interestingly, the Hebern machines themselves were renovated and sent to shore stations, where some remained in use until 1942. Two were, in fact, captured by the Japanese during World War II. During this time, Hebern was living on income from properties left by his wife's sister. He continued to improve his machines and to take out patents, despite the setback of losing a patent interference case against International Business Machines in 1941. In 1947, convinced that the armed forces had used his basic ideas throughout the war without
