Books have been around for a couple hunder years for now, but there aren’t any remains left of the first ever books because of the rarity when the first book was realased. First books ever were written by hand and that’s the reason why there were so few of them . Thanks to the invention of the printing press books became more common and accesable for everyday people. After that came the printer but the next big step up was the invention of the e-books and portable screens that could almost outweigh regular books in every aspect possible. But nothing is perfect in this world so naturaly e-books and tablets have their weaknesses, for example, battery life and portability are the main concerns when deciding to rely on them. Regular books are quite rugged, few bumps and bruses aren’t going to make it unreadable, but when u drop your tablet then there’s a good chance that it will break and you’re going to have to pay quite a lot of money to make it usable again . When going camping somewhere where an power outlet isn’t nearby then it is almost unpractical to bring along a tablet that needs charging after a few hours . Tablets and e-books main strengh is capacity, it can hold up to a 10 000 books while not changing it’s form factor , while 100 books can fill up a wall full of bookshelves. In my opinion i like tablet’s and e-books alot more than regular books, mainly because of the simplicity of carring only one device that does not weight much more than a small journal and has the power to hold all of my much needed books in it.

Lühikokkuvõte raamatu ajaloost kuni tänapäevani. Wax tablets were the normal writing material in schools, in accounting, and for taking notes. They had the advantage of being reusable: the wax could be melted, and reformed into a blank. The custom of binding several wax tablets together (Roman pugillares) is a possible precursor for modern books (i.e. codex). The etymology of the word codex (block of wood) also suggests that it may have developed from wooden wax tablets.
