A life-changing competition Finally, it was the 1st May the final day of the Youth Rock Competition. Many student bands from all over the country were preparing for the final battle. The Raven wasn't an exception. The vocalist, Daemon, practiced the guitar, while the others tried to calm down from the pressure that was thickening the air. Matrix, the guitarist, had taken his little sister with him. While he himself was practicing with the Ravens, Alice sat amongst the public. Suddenly, someone shook her hand. The girl turned and saw one extravagant-looking woman. "You are Alice Owen, right? The legendary Billy Owen' s youngest daughter?" Alice smiled and nodded. "Yet I don't believe my father is a legend." "Well, for me he's an idol! I've always dreamed about his live-concert! And, now, finally, I can hear his singing!" "He's just opening the competition..." But the woman seemed very happy, so Alice decid...
We live in a constantly changing world There seems to be no stability or certanity about anything. Nations rise and fall, governments come to power and tumble, armies march and retreat, healthy people become sick and on and on the world goes. On the one hand the world we are living in is amazing, because science, medicine, technology, and so on are advancing at an ever-increasing pace. It has made our lives much easier than it was 100 years ago. For example we have phones, television, fast cars, eco towns, highrise buildings and so on. But on the other hand the world can also be frightful. People are starving, and do not have water to drink nor wash themselves. But somewhere someone has unlimited food and water and never thinks about those people who are in need. Due to the over consumption of water, gas, wood et cetera, we might be in a lack of mineral resources in the future. And if they run out, we need to find an alternative vari...

What life might be like a hundred years from now? Life nowadays is changing very fast. We are having phones, full on different features, with last ten years, almost every family have their own computer and in some countries everyday food is changed with genetically modified food. But how our life can be changed after hundred years? In 2112, we are living in Earth. We are not using air, because after air pollution, it is dangerous for people to breathe it. We are definitely driving with aircrafts, because we ran out of fuel over 50 years ago.
You are going to write your own magazine article on what your life will be like in ten years' time. 1.what are you doing now? 2.how do you see yourself changing in the next few years? 3.what will you be doind 4.what will you have done? 5.where will you be living 6.will you have got married? 7.will you have travelled a lot? Everybody has their dreams and ideas, how they want they're life to be. Right now I am a school student. I'm dancing, playing guitar and just hang out with my friends. I'm in the tenth grade of high-school, so I have only two years to decide what I want to do after graduating. But I think I don't

In the second lesson you were shown how to read tab. This lesson will be similar to the second part of lesson two, however I plan to introduce you to the chord G. Once you have mastered G, we will try and practice changing between the three chords we have learnt; D, A, and G. Let's take a look at the G major chord: Exercise: With this exercise, I want to get you strumming up and down. I would like to introduce to you a new technique to help with your playing. When you are practicing the lesson above I would like you to count out loud. This sounds easier than it is, but it is something you need to learn and it is an achievable skill. It works like this; on your down strum I want you to count

change them yourself” Some people say that time changes and heals things. There are also people who disagree with that and say that you actually have to change things yourself. It is my opinion that time is irrevelant and you have to change things yourself. At first, you may conclude that time does indeed change things, but is that an accurate conclusion? It’s true that time constantly moves on and we live in a constantly changing environment. But that doesn’t make time responsible for change. For example, if you are depressed and you cry constantly and you don’t make a change, the same problem will be in your face very day. Time and Change are both constant, but their relationship is random. Over the passage of time, changes will take place, but what that change will be is not controlled by time. In conclusion, If you want things to change for the better, you can either wait to see

Niisiis, mina arvan, et ajakirjanduse roll kogukonnas ja ühiskonnas on see ,et ta on inimeste jaoks põhiline infoallikas. What it the role of journalism in community and society? I think that the role of journalism in community and society is basically to give us information, what is going on woldwide. For example the people, who lives out of town, get to know, what is happening in the capital city. Different situations- If the Mayor is changing, laws are changing, construction of a new building etc.

What could government and/or parents do to make youngsters lifestyle healthier? One approach that parents should consider is to influence their children to part-take in a heathy lifestyle. It is probably true to say that kids who are used to eating junk food and low physical activity are more likely to become overweight sooner or later. By changing living habits and stepping up as good role models parents should adapt food that is beneficial and doing sports into normal everyday life. If this is what kids are used to doing in a young age the more likely they will use the same technique when raising their own children in the future. An alternative approach that is definitely not less important- providing schoolkids many interesting and unusual workouts such as archery and rowing so every child can chose his/
Broadway is a street in the U.S. state of New York. It is the oldest northsouth main thoroughfare in New York City, dating to the first New Amsterdam settlement. The name Broadway is the English literal translation of the Dutch name, Breede weg. Broadway is known worldwide as the heart of the American theatre industry. One famous stretch near Times Square, where Broadway crosses Seventh Avenue in midtown Manhattan, is the home of many Broadway theatres, housing an ever-changing array of commercial, large- scale plays, particularly musicals. Canyon of Heroes is occasionally used to refer to the section of lower Broadway in the Financial District that is the location of the city's ticker-tape parades. "Great White Way" is a nickname for a section of Broadway in the Midtown section of the New York City borough of Manhattan, specifically the portion that encompasses the Theatre District, between 42nd and 53rd Streets, and encompassing Times Square

insignificant and have no effect, with enough people these small things add up and make an even bigger change that any single organization or person could ever do. To be the change we want to see in the world, people do not have to be smart, rich or well educated. They need to have a dream and commitment. The problems facing the world today are great, and it will surely take the greatness of millions if not billions of people working together towards a common goal to overcome them. Changing the world does not happen overnight, but it would not happen by not making an effort either. “When the whole world is silent, even once voice becomes powerful.” These strong words said by 16-year-old education activist Malala Yousafzai have had a big impact on people that have doubted themselves about for example starting a fundraising event or listing up as a volunteer to help people that cannot get proper education.

One of the biggest issues our planet and its inhabitants are facing nowadays is global warming. Global warming, also often referred to as the greenhouse effect, has not always been a problem. However, over the last centuries, since the Industrial Revolution things have changed. Polar regions are melting, species are dying, climate zones are shifting, migration patterns for animals such as polar bears and birds are being disrupted our world as we know it is changing. Some scientists believe that the climate will reach a tipping point, a point at which even a tiny additional increase would throw the system into violent change. We started doing harmful things and only now do we realize what we have done and what we are doing. At this current rate by the middle of next century the Earth's temperature may rise a predicted from 2 to 6 degrees Celsius. This may not seem as much but with the Earth's delicate balance we will have lost several species and habitats
Tutor: Tiia Krass Tartu 2011 Introduction I'm writing my book review about Agroecological Economics. Which is written by Paul Wojtkowski, who is very famous as leading proponent and analyst. This book presents a wide range of new and diverse techniques for sustainable agriculture for the purpose of enhancing economic interest. Since agriculture is growing really convivially, the emphasis is on changing from conventional agriculture to more efficient systems and practise. This book is very educational because it explains how is the best way to analyze the experimental results from intercropping and multiple cropping trials. Also offers a means for risk assessments. I chose this book because my family also is engaged to farm business and agriculture. This book has 293 pages which includes 16 chapters, it was first published in 2008, so it is quite new book
neutral effect on the level of economic activity. - An expansionary stance of fiscal policy involves government spending exceeding tax revenue. - A contractionary fiscal policy occurs when government spending is lower than tax revenue. There are two types of fiscal policy: discretionary and non-discretionary (automatic). The discretionary policy is the government (federal) changing spending (G), changing taxes (on households) T, or some combination of the two. The logic of the change is to influence the performance of the economy. Non-discretionary policy is really the overall framework and design of the government spending and taxing authority. As an example, having a progressive tax system, once set up, works automatically in the economy. Recession A recession could happen if C, I, G, or X fell. The short term effect was falling RGDP and

Two very clever burglars were arrested in the early hours of the morning. The incident occured in the alley behind Pearson's Electronics Shop, in the South Street. Joe Lee, 30, and Peeter Brown, 23, had just finished loading a van with thousands of pounds worth of electronics equipment when they were surrounded by policeman. The two men had been breaking into electronics shop in the Forest city area for several months. They had continuosly eluded police by cleverly disarming alarms and changing getaway vehicles. Captain Green of the police department said that they had been on burglars trail for some time now and that they had only been waiting for the right moment to catch them in the act.

The Earth's climate has been changing constantly over its history. Once, all climate change occurred naturally, but recently, people have also started altering the climate. We are sending more and more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The average global temperature has increased by about 0.5 °C over the past century. Scientist expect it to increase up to an additional 3 °C over the next on 100 years. People who are living in cold places may have a chance to grow new crops if the climate gets warmer. At the same time in some parts of the world, people won't be able to grow the food they need. Global warming will make the sea level higher because it'll make the glaciers melt. When water expands in the ocean, it takes up more space and the level of the seas rise. If global warming gets worse, some kinds of plants and animals will become extinct. So as a result we have to slow down the global warming.

INCREASING POPULARITY OF SCHOOL MEALS: Due to Foreign language Weik, the third week of February, the number of students increased to 700, because the school cauten offered different national dishes on a separate days. Thus it can be concluded that the school lunch popularity can be increased by changing the menu and making new dishes. CONCLUSIONS: Finally, although the school lunches are popular in Saue Gymnasium, but in order to further increase the popularity, is to make the menu to more diverse, then it would be more variety.
before it. A climatologist Jack Hall's researches show that his fears are coming true. He must go to the White House to warn everybody, but in addition he must reach to New York to save his son who is draped in a library by storm. On the plus side the movie is visually stunning. Special effects are great and there is plenty of action to keep you in front of the screen. On the other hand some people may not like how far all this climate changing has taken and find this all too exaggerated. All in all it's a fascinating story with great special effects and all this shows us what could happen to world when we keep up with living like this.
The survey has been conducted among our class students. Canteen Firstly, the canteen`s food prices are too low and service is very slow. It would be a good idea to mark down the price of food and to put meals on the table before lunch break. As result service would be faster and more students could afford eating school lunch . Library Furthermore, the majority of the students (56%) are not agreed with library opening hours and range of books. By buying more books and changing library opening hours, we could solve the problem. Teachers` teaching styles Last, the minority of our class students (22%) do not like the teachers` teaching styles. Teachers should explain more clearly what they exactly want from students. In this way all the students would accept the teachers` teaching styles. Conclusion To sum up, I feel that the above improvements would make things even better. If these
Nevertheless, there are those who claim that, «Why can't people simply face the fact that if you're disabled, you might not get to play sports in the same manner as everyone else? different experiences, conceptions and ways they like to solve problems. For example the ways people acted fifty years ago may not fit into today's world, but then there are the grandchildren's generation that can show and teach elderly how it is acceptable to do something. And then there are older generations that can remind youngers why it is important to appreciate family relations, remember your relatives and what are real values in life, because in this fast-changing world it is sometimes quite hard to distinguish important from unimportant. Last year was the year of active ageing and solidarity between generations. I think it was very nice initiative. It reminded so many important things to people. We should not forget how many wonderful and differently experienced people live around us and what we have to learn from them.

When inserting the plates, the press operator must check that the plate is correctly seated on the cylinder. During maintenance, the press operator must clean different parts of the machine. The printing blankets must be cleaned often, because they collect a lot of ink and paper dust. The press operator must also do complicated jobs, like changing the ink rollers. Because of the high speed of the printing press, the rollers wear out and deform very fast. To change the rollers the printing unit must be completely dismantled. The press operator has many jobs that require good eye and fast reaction time.

Weather in England Britain is an island country and the surrounding sea gives England a varied climate. The main influence on climate is close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, that's why the climate of England is classified as oceanic climate , with warm summers, cool winters and much rain throughout the year. As Britain have such a variable climate changing from day to day, it is difficult to know what weather will be on next day. In general there are warm summers and cool winters. Summers are cooler than those on the continent, but the winters are colder. Eastern parts are drier, cooler and less windy. Northern areas are generally cooler, wetter and have a smaller temperature range than southern areas. The highest temperature in England was 38.5 degrees at 10th August 2003. Winters are cool, wet and windy
Essay. Is global climate change (global warming) man-made or not? Over the last hundred years the Earth has been warming. This warming is believed to lead to many issues such as increasing of nature disasters, weather changes and draught. All of these consequences could become a reason of economic decay in many countries, especially in some undeveloped countries. Therefore it is very important to find out who is guilty of the climate changing. Many people are confident that the reason of global warming is man made carbon dioxide. Over the last hundred years our society has been developing very fast: there has been built a huge amount of different factories, has been made so many inventions in all fields of human activity. Unfortunately only recently we have noticed that by making our life more comfortable and more enjoyable we destroy nature and cause appearance of ozone holes which are directly connected with global warming.

sustained, but rather partial, fragmentary, mixed with other concerns. Nearly every sense is in operation, and the image is the composite of them all. Not only is the city an object which is perceived (and perhaps enjoyed) by millions of people of widely diverse class and character, but it is the product of many builders who are constantly modifying the structure for reasons of their own. While it may be stable in general outlines for some time, it is ever changing in detail. Only partial control can be exercised over its growth and form. There is no final result, only a continuous succession of phases Not one American city larger than a village is of consistently fine quality, although a few towns have some pleasant fragments. It is hardly surprising, then, that most Americans have little idea of what it can mean to live in such an environment. They are clear enough about the ugliness of the world they live in, and they are quite

There definately is not a certain perfect solution. Firts problem in current education system coul be that students are put into a „box“. Everyone gets graded by a certain standard, if you can not reach that line, then yo have failed. This is the fairest way, at least in concept. But not all the people have same abilities and strengths. Education should be more personal, focusin on a certain students talents and
the Golden Age of Hollywood. Back in the day, celebrities were presented as incomparably glamorous, flawless beings, closer to gods than humans. Fame was controlled not by the famous and certainly not by the audience, but by the owners of the media. The lives of the rich and the famous used to be mysterious and even inexplicable. It was so foreign and artificial a construct that we thought that fame made you special. The rise of reality TV, however, was a major step in the changing nature of celebrity. “Normal people” became stars overnight. The dominance of smartphones and social media has meant that the public records everything: nervous breakdowns, breakups and displays of erratic behavior, and popular celebrities seem to have become beloved for being like us – or at least more photogenic versions of us. These days, celebrity at the most basic level, just simply means “being known” among a group of people and having a certain opinion that others look up to
