Letter of protest

situations. But why people protest? What are the reasons behind protest? The first thing that comes to my mind is that people protest because they live boring lives. They have nothing to do or they can find excitement anywhere. When something as exciting as protest happens those people might join it just to reduce the boredome in their lives. The other reason why people protest is peer pressure. During revolutions and protests people start judging and criticizing those who don’t participate in the events. Under the effect of peer pressure the ones with low self esteem find themselves forced to take a direction just to please others and not because in what was going on. Those are some of the main reasons why people protest. Some events are worth the protest but some are not. It depens on the protest, the people who are protesting, and over what people protest.

Letter of application for a language course

About the fact that I would have to stay far from home, I do not feel that it would be much of a problem because I have the ability to adapt to various situations. I also have experience with living abroad- I was an exchange student in the Netherlands for a year and I have also worked and lived in the USA for three months. Having in mind my good study record, good knowledge of English language, experience in studying abroad and high level of motivation to participate in this language course I believe to be a good candidate for it.

Learning confidence and skill

Learning confidence and skill In physical education (PE), pupils develop confidence and skills in a range of activities, such as dance, games, gymnastics, swimming, athletics, outdoor and adventurous activities. They work as individuals, in groups and in teams. Discovering what they like to do, Physical education (PE) is much more than success on the sports field. It develops competent, confident young people who understand the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle. It also calls for teamwork, leadership and creative thinking. These skills enrich learning and life. bring people together through physical activity; break down barriers between groups; PE class is a place to learn that their bodies are inadequate; bodies that are already subject to bullying and merciless ridicule in and out of school. But this is more than about simply anecdotes and haunting childhood memories. There is evidence deserving of attention of why PE...

Classes would be limited to fifteen students, a size small enough to allow individual attention but large enough to furnish the feeling of belonging to a group. In addition, academic lessons would be split into two halves. The first half would be a basic skills seminar, and the second an advanced class. Students would be able to choose whether to stay the second half, or else they could leave to work on their current project, read, or pursue an independent study of another subject. The students who stayed - the "second halfers" - would be known as the students with the greatest passion for the subject. No grades ...

Tower of London

Description At the centre of the Tower of London stands the White Tower. The White Tower is defended by a massive curtain wall, which has thirteen towers. The first curtain wall is defended by a second massive curtain wall, which has five towers. The tower is manned by the Yeomen Warders (known as Beefeaters), who act as tour guides, provide security, and are a tourist attraction in their own right. Every evening, the warders participate in the Ceremony of the Keys as the Tower is secured for the night. History The Tower of London was founded in 1078 by William the Conqueror. In the 12th century, King Richard the Lionheart enclosed the White Tower with a curtain wall and had a moat dug around it. The fortification was completed in 1280 by Edward I, who built the outer curtain wall. The Tower today is principally a tourist attraction. Besides the buildings

What can be done to prevent petty crime?

What can be done to prevent petty crime? Nowadays more and more young people have started comit petty crime and people believe that thouse can be prevented. I support this view for a variety of reasons. To start with petty crime can be prevented with teenagers, the problematical ones in particular should participate to educational courses organised by the state where they can learn everything about these petty crimes an also how to avoid getting in the middle of them. It is very important to organise this meetings in the poor districts where teenagers are prone to ilicit activities such as pickpocketing or even burglery. Another method of reducing petty crime is that the people should learn how to protect their houses and their valuable goods. They should also learn how to protect themselves by thieves

Essay I am going to talk about our exciting school day. Today it was different than usually. Different lectures started after the sixth lesson. There were more lectures, but unfortunately I couldn't attend them all. The themes of lectures were very interesting. Firstly, the lecture that was carried out by our local general practitioner. She talked about health in general and about the right diet. They showed us how to measure blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol. For me it was hard to focus on the lecture, because all the activities caused a lot of noise and it was hard to listen to the doctor. In my opinion the lecture was very instructive and educational. Secondly, the lecture that was carried out by Tallinn Genetic Engineering Institute's director. The subject of the lecture was very difficult. A woman's influence in politics has yet to be recognized as a true political voice of women that actually yields power. Perceptions of women and politics from the media, society, men, and even women themselves have shaped women's ability everywhere to participate politically and socially within our society. The United States, as well as many other countries, has various beliefs regarding the role of women in the political arena. The United States has shown how the political role of a woman has evolved, over time, into a more powerful one. On the other hand, a woman seeking a powerful position, such as a political platform, is looked down upon in most countries. Some political systems are regimes marked by one-

This year´s theme country was Japan. The school was decorated with symbolic things from Japan. There was a handmade Torii in the lobby. Art Weeks café was in atrium where 11c did very good job. My favourite food was sushi which I believe was made by themselves. There were many activities in which students could participate. I took part in language lesson, origami lesson, animation workshop where I made my own little cartoon. I also went to a lecture in TTU about robots from Japan. At the end of the lecture we built our own robots and made them compete with each other. There were also a lot people who came to talk about life in Japan. Rather, the motivation to work would come from a desire to earn the respect of teachers and fellow students and establish a positive self-identity. Kids would also decide the degree to which they would like to participate. Involvement would be based on interest and the satisfaction of publically confirming their talents. If these ideas could be successfully implemented, the learning environment in my school would be a fascinating self-journey, as useful for building emotional knowledge as it would be for sharpening academic skills. Learning would be a fulfilling, exciting experience, and kids wouldn't have to dread school, as they do now. Most importantly,

Athletes from all over the world take part and their achievements are watched from both near and far by hundreds of millions of spectators. The differences between the modern and ancient Olympic Games can be clearly seen. For instance, in ancient times only men were allowed to watch and participate but that has changed now. Also, athletes don't have to perform nude, although the original idea of the games was to honour the human body. Each Olympic Games has an opening ceremony during which the sports stadium is filled with music, singing, dancing and fireworks. Chat rooms

Thats a good question. And it all depends on how responsible your child really is - and what kind of relationship you have with them. Chat rooms are the most common place kids find themselves getting into trouble. And it's important to remember that online predators often hang out in children's chat room and pass themselves off as a child in the hopes of getting some personal information from one or more of the children they find there. Should you decide to let your child participate in chat or instant message sessions, you should insist that they use a monitored chat room moderated and rated G. Spend some time in these chat rooms before letting your child go there, to ensure that they are what they seem to be - safe. AOL & MSN both offer moderated chat rooms as well as do some other sites and ISP's. The important point to remember however is that just because the chat room is monitored does not mean that it's 100% child safe.

R. Kipling & M. Faraday

Biographers have noted that "a strong sense of the unity of God and nature pervaded Faraday's life and work." In June 1832, the University of Oxford granted Faraday a Doctor of Civil Law degree (honorary). During his lifetime, Faraday rejected a knighthood and twice refused to become President of the Royal Society. When asked by the British government to advise on the production of chemical weapons for use in the Crimean War (1853-1856), Faraday refused to participate citing ethical reasons.Faraday died at his house at Hampton Court on 25 August 1867. He had previously turned down burial in Westminster Abbey, but he has a memorial plaque there, near Isaac Newton's tomb. Faraday was interred in the dissenters' (non-Anglican) section of Highgate Cemetery.

Positive sides of outdoor learning

and how exactly their deficiency will affect them personally. Direct contact is the best way to learn. Outdoor education is necessary to encourage students to become good stewards and to think globally but act locally regarding the environment and environmental issues. Also, outdoor education is not only important to raise environmentally responsible citizens, but to have positive impact on student's development. Several studies are claiming that students who participate in outdoor education have rising trends in self-esteem, linguistic skills, motivation, concentration and better understanding of the concept. All these aspects are essential in youth development and the main reason why these traits have positive growth is that in outdoor education many different subjects are combined and integrated. This will make student lives and interaction with the world clearer. Some nature centers, environmental education facilities, camps, and other

"Marketing"

interacting with your prospective customers and clients. This interaction will provide you with research that is priceless. Small businesses typically have a limited marketing budget if any at all. Does that mean you can't run with the big dogs? Absolutely not. It just means you have to think a little more creatively. How about launching your marketing campaign by doing one of the following: · Call your vendors or associates and ask them to participate with you in co-op advertising. · Take some time to send your existing customers' referrals and buying incentives. Invite people into your place of business by piggybacking onto an event. Is there a concert coming to town, are you willing to sell those tickets? It could mean free radio publicity. If that is not your cup of tea, how about a walkathon that is taking place in your area, why not be a public outreach and distribute their material?

Prepositions and Phrasal Verbs

The particle that follows the verb changes the meaning of the phrasal verb in idiomatic ways: · drop off - decline gradually The hill dropped off near the river · drop off(2) - fall asleep While doing his homework, he dropped off. · drop off(3) - stop and give something to someone Would you drop this off at the post office? · drop out - cease to participate After two laps, the runner dropped out. The art of dance

participants rather than onlookers. Such dance seldom has any narrative. Participatory dancers often all employ the same movements and steps but, for example, in the rave culture of electronic dance music, vast crowds may engage in free dance, uncoordinated with those around them. On the other hand, some cultures lay down strict rules as to the particular dances in which, for example, men, women and children may or must participate. [3] Dance and health has been subject of a number of research studies that show dance to be a very healthy exercise.[6] It’s a weight-bearing activity, which builds bones, says Catherine Cram. It's also wonderful for your upper body and strength. New ballroom dancers may feel muscles they didn't know they had. Ballroom dancing works the backs of the thighs and buttock muscles differently from many other types of exercise, tells Ken Richards. The

Queen Victoria and her time

Widowhood Until the late 1860s she rarely appeared in public; although she never neglected her official Correspondence, and continued to give audiences to her ministers and official visitors, she was reluctant to resume a full public life. [7] Victoria's isolation from the public greatly diminished the popularity of the monarchy, and even encouraged the growth of the republican movement. Although she did perform her official duties, she did not actively participate in the government, remaining secluded in her royal residences, Balmoral in Scotland or her residence at Osborne in the Isle of Wight. Meanwhile, one of the most important pieces of legislation of the nineteenth century -- the Reform Act 1867 -- was passed by Parliament. Lord Palmerston was vigorously opposed to electoral reform, but his ministry ended upon his death in 1865. He was followed by Lord Russell (the former Lord John Russell), and afterwards by Lord Derby, during whose ministry
