Jazz Jazz is a type of lively music with strong, complex rhythms. It's earlier expression is said to be ragtime. Jazz was first played at the beginning of the 20th century by black musicians in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jazz began with a basic trio of musicians: a cornet, a trumpet or a violin and a trombone. Below this there was a guitar or a banjo, sometimes a piano and drums. Jazz musicians often accent or add notes or beats in unusual or unexpected places. Also they add other elements of black music such as blues and ragtime to make a unique American music form. Musicians make up tunes as they play. Jazz music has changed, and today there are many different forms of Jazz. Ragtime, famous musicians from that time are Irving Berlin, Ben Harney, Scott Joplin. Then there are dixieland famous musicians from that period is Louis Armstrong.

Reasons why people work In today's society it is known that people work because they need money to live. As Leonardo da Vinci said " God sells us all things at the price of labour " and unfortunately it tends to be true. However, there are still some of the other reason why people work. As Mothet Teresa said " Work without love is slavery" and fortunately there are many people in world who work because they love what they do. For example artists, musicians and actors do not earn a lot of money, however they can give the world something we need- entertainment. In addition to musicians, actors, and artists there are many other sincere, thoughtful and open-minded people who find time in addition to their daily work to help those who need help giving food to homeless people, helping children who are left without parents and taking care for the animals in the shelter. These people are doing this without getting any
lifetime, although he was not widely recognised as a great composer until a revival of interest and performances of his music in the first half of the 19th century. He is now regarded as the supreme composer of the Baroque, and as one of the greatest of all time. Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach, Saxe-Eisenach. He was the youngest child of Johann Ambrosius Bach, the director of the Stadtpfeifer or town musicians, and Maria Elisabeth Lämmerhirt. His father taught him to play violin and harpsichord. His uncles were all professional musicians, whose posts ranged from church organists and court chamber musicians to composers. One uncle, Johann Christoph Bach (164593), was especially famous and introduced him to the art of organ playing. Bach was proud of his family's musical achievements, and around 1735 he drafted a genealogy, "Origin of the musical Bach family".

Britain is more famous for pop music than it is for classical composers or jazz musicians. Names such as The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Elton John, George Michael and The Spice Girls are known world wide but little do people know of our other musicians not in the pop world. The origins of music in Britain lie in the songs sung and dance music played by ordinary people. Passed from village to village and handed down in the unwritten form from generation to generation. Different trends Over the last thirty or so years British pop music has led the world in its range and quality, starting several new trends. Britain, along with the US, was the main contributor

Pärnu Hansa days Pärnu Hansa days take place every june and during four days. Reason for celebrating is, that people can go back in time, and do same things, as it was in the Middle Ages. Days before the festival, organisers have to register sellers, who are going to sell their Middle Ages products. Also, there is a lot of job with searching good musicians and entertainers. On the top of this, it takes lot of time to bring all stages and tables to the festival place. On the actual day, there are many people in the Middle Ages costume. There is a huge Middle Ages fair, and people can buy what ever they like. Participants can see many perfomances, take part of different games, and just have nice days with nice people. If you enjoy fairs, perfomances and meeting Middle Ages traditions, don't miss it! It is the perfect way to spend your summer days.

Elvis Presley Elvis (Aaron) Presley was an American singer and actor. One of the most popular musicians of the 20th century, he is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Roll" or "the King". Samuti tahtsin teada saada, mis üldse iseloomustab mustlasmuusikat. Aastatöö edenemisel leidsin enda jaoks palju uusi ja huvitavaid bände, kelle muusikat kuulata. Samuti avastasin enese jaoks täiesti uued ja tundmata stiilid: mustlasdzässi ja mustlaspungi. Kuna antud teema kohta puuduvad eestikeelsed raamatud, kasutasin peamiselt ingliskeelseid muusikaalaseid raamatuid. Seejuures oli suureks abiks suurim muusikaalane entsüklopeedia ,,The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians". Lisaks kasutasin veel raamatuid ,,World Music: the Rough Guide" ja ,,World Music: the Rough Guide/Volume 1: Africa, Europe and the Middle East". Kunstmuusika heliloojate kohta leidsin materjali raamatust ,,Classical Music on CD: the Rough Guide". Suureks abiks osutusid ka erinevad internetimaterjalid. Üldiselt leidus materjali antud teema kohta piisavalt, kuid oli kohati katkendlikult ja mitte süstemaatiliselt edasi- antud. Samuti esines erinevate materjalide vahel vasturääkivust
caught. This party implicated such much trouble that some students had to leave the school. The designer of the play was Ursula Vanamölder. Her designs and superb drawings were miracular. Musical artist of this play was Siim Aimla. He used songs from very many noted composers. Such as Veljo Tormis, Gustav Ernesaks, Mihkel Lüdig, Valter Ojakäär etc. I really liked this play. The music was really good and I was really surprised by the young actors and also the extraordinary young musicians. I wonder if they are so good at such a young age, then what great things can they do years later. I would definitely recommend this play to anyone who enjoys good music and history. Anete Palmik 11a
Independence was declared on the late evening of August 20 in 1991. Soon, on 11 September 1988, a massive song festival, called "Song of Estonia", was held at the Tallinn Song Festival Ground. This time about 300,000 people came together, which was more than a quarter of all Estonians. Estonians sang national songs and hymns that were strictly forbidden during the years of the Soviet occupation, as Estonian rock musicians played. On that day political leaders were participating actively, and were for the first time insisting on the restoration of independence. Finally, the Soviet Union fell apart in 1991. I would say that this is the most glorious moment in the history of the Republic of Estonia, because not only Estonians but also other countries have a change to decide about our future by ourselves. In conclusion, 20 years later in Estonia was celebrated the singing festival, to note and

I asked the driver just to drive me around the city and show me what's good around there. As we where driving through the Broadway street, I discovered from the posters hanging on the wall that my all time favourite soul artist Marvin Gaye was in the town. Luckily I had some money in my pocket to pay for the taxi ride, and even for the ticket to the concert. People on the street were very friendly and I smoothly melted into the crowd. I quickly got friends with some of the local street musicians. One of them was Denzel and he told me a story about how Marvin Gaye has inspired him and his music. When I told them that I'm a fan of his music too and I'm planning to go to his concert that night, they couldn't believe me and the fact that a white man listens to black music. Clearly they were little quixotic, but still we crossed our paths and went to the concert together. The show was amazing, I've never felt better!

Nagu ütles Roy Ayers: "The true beauty of music is that it connects people. It carries a message, and we, the musicians, are the messengers." Muusikal on tugev mõju meie tänapäeva ühiskonnale.

The children used to play in the Giant's garden every day. When Giant came back home after seven years he was very sad and cried in a very grunft voice. He will not allow nobody to play in it but hisself and h built a high wall all round it and put up notice-board. The poor had now nowhere to play. The birds were flying about and twittering with delight and the flowers were looking up through the grass and laughting. Only in one corner it was still winter . In it was standing a little boy. He was so small that he could not reach up to the branches of the tree. He was too tiny to climb. The

He has stated that his wild stage costumes and performances were his way of letting go after such a restrictive childhood. Both of John's parents were musically inclined, his father having been a trumpet player with a semi-professional big band that played military dances. The Dwights were avid record buyers, exposing John to all the popular singers and musicians of the day. John remembers being immediately hooked on rock and roll when his mother brought home records by Elvis Presley and Bill Haley & His Comets in 1956. The young Reginald Dwight was not merely interested in music -- he was extremely talented.
