The Fear of Choosing The Wrong Major in University

Many students decide to acquire vocational education and they have to choose which profession to pursue, whether it be, for example, learning to become a technician or a hairdresser. However, a bigger majority of teenagers decide to go to university. But before doing so, teenagers have to be certain what kind of study program they will be taking. This puts young people under a lot of stress, because they have a lot of doubt and fear. For example, over the years, there has been an increase of people, who have decided to study Information Technology in University, including myself. The increase has been due to the immense labor shortage in Estonia and the high salaries students will be earning after university. For me these are not the reasons I want to study IT, but because I am genuinely interested in developing new software and applications for computers. But since a lot of teenagers want to study IT, I find myself

How can the issue of intolerance be addressed by the government?

How can the issue of intolerance be addressed by the government? Intolerance in society is actually the intolerance of it’s individual members. Intolerance is rooted in fear and ignorance. People are afraid of the unknown, it is natural. But it can only grow, if it gets encouragement, either from parents, who are also ingorant or school, who just do not teach children any better. And fighting intolerance requires Law. Intolerance can be fought with education. Tolerance can be teached at an early age only, later it is difficult change a person’s values. And if intolerance starts with the fear of the unknow, education can help. Government should emphasise

The Haunting House

Actually, there is nothing to develop them into. The house, we're talking about, sits high atop a rocky hill alone, as a ruin. There is much history to this place, but that history is centuries old. Recently has nothing happened here. This huge manor has been vacant for nearly a hundred years. It was cleared of human-kind by a spirit so malevolent no one will step foot inside. It is mostly made of wood. There are no windows left, merely shells. The master of the house held it in such fear, that the ghosts are still visible, as reported by some who have been there. A master loved beer and whiskey. But he was incredibly mean and evil. He had no respect for others. Perhaps, he himself was affected by something paranormal but we don't know it. So much hatred and violence came from this master, that his household was held in deep fear for a very long time. It is actually a story of those who did nothing to stop the master doing anything he wanted to do

A day to remember

My parents had taken me to the mandir the previous day and my bag was packed with great care. I was to go to School for the first time in my life.I was six years old and I still remember the day I first went to school. My aunt came to drop me to my classroom and helped me to get familiar with my teacher and class. I hated the thought of being away from home for so many hours. Tears rolled down my checks as I got off the house and held my aunt’s hand.My aunt could sense my fear and tried to cheer me up . I fet a little better as I saw many other boys and girls entering the class where I had to go.my aunt left me in the classroom and drove to the house. I felt my heart sink as I saw go but I soon began to feel better.the times passed quickly and I started making new friends so I began loving the school. However even today, when I think of my first day at school 1 remember the fear that I had and how my teacher and my friends helped me to overcome this feeling

Should a mosque be built in Tallinn?

This sort of a progressive mindset, however, rarely extends to the principles of religious freedom. But why? Why are so many people opposed to something that in its core is just another place of worship much-like any other? After all, the construction of the mosque wouldn't even be funded by tax-payers. In addition, most of us don't oppose the building of churches, even though Estonia is currently the 3rd least religious country on the planet. Many people fear that the building of a mosque would open a door for Islamic radicalization in Estonia. I for one, find that very hard to believe since the main cause of radicalization is not religion, but the feeling of exclusion. The feeling of not being wanted within society. Many parts of Europe are currently caught in a vicious circle A terrorist attack occurs, so people no longer want Islam in their home town. The muslim

Crime & Punishment

At least in our country. There have been excerpts in the media of how the government wants to reform prisoners and help them getting on their feet after leaving prison. I do not think it would be possible. When taking into consideration that just two years ago a man was sentenced to serve eight years at a local penitentiary for the killings of 6 people, I just cannot agree with it. I sternly believe that punishments should be a lot more harsh so that a common man would fear the barred windows and the people serving their sentence there. The killing of another human being is an unforgivable and horrible crime and it should be taken as a principal offense. I see capital punishment being the best way to deal with it, as it warns other civilians to fear and avoid the criminal path. In conclusion, there are multiple reasons why people misbehave and commit crimes. It may be an outcome of social differences, an act of passion or even peer pressure. We are

The main opposition comes from religious groups, medical associations whose members see practising euthanasia as an inproper exctension of their role as carers. Throughout centuries the doctors' purpose in life has been to cure suffering, how can they be expected to do otherwise, even if it's done for a good cause. The issue has been misinterpreted by some people. They seem to be of the opinion that practicing euthanasia would turn nursing homes into places of fear and elderly people in residencial home are afraid that they will be a candidate. For whatever motive it may be done, all civilisations, all religions have regarded this as morally wrong.

made equal in mental and physical abilities. This does not mean that all of us are equally strong, smart or beautiful, but that everyone has the ability to damage or kill the other. The main goals, we all want to achieve, are having a shelter, security, power, wealth and enough food. This means that people are constantly competing with each other and that makes all of us (who desire the same things) enemies. Hobbes names the insecurity and fear people feel towards each other a "state of nature". In this state there are no moral rules or enforced laws, also no justice or injustice. People, being violent and arbitrary, will only follow their own interest. So without laws and boundaries, people would be in constant war - every man for himself. In this kind of society there is no time for cultural or industrial development. No one can enjoy life because of the constant fear they life in. The "state of

Peace and keeping

It sounds simple and easy, but for some reason, throughout the history, it has been very difficult to actually keep peace. Why then is it so important? Firstly, when there is peace, people are happy. Friendly relations with neighbours and different countries give people an oppurtunity to live normal lives. However, for example, when there are some tensions between two countries, the people of those countries would live in constant fear and threat. Secondly, violence is not acceptable in any form or situation. I think that when there are disagreements between some countries, they should try to solve them verbally. It is natural that we don`t all agree with everything, but a certain level of acceptance and understanding must be reachable with words. Luckily, there are more and more international peace organizations that help acheive and maintain peace

On the other hand, people who are allergic to pets cannot use this opportunity, because it brings more pain than good. From a psychological standpoint, pets can offer love and companionship. What is more, they enjoy comfortable silences and they can keep secrets. Moreover, people who own dogs have less fear of being victims of crime both when they are out with their dogs, and at home. However, some dogs can behave unpredictably and attack their own people. On the whole, I believe that having a pet is the best thing that we can do. Pets can be very loveable and useful. Without noticing the natural cruelty inside them developed, savagery instincts emerged and most of them stopped caring about civilisation. The reason why the characters in the novel turned from decent British boys into small savages is hidden in human nature. All the boys were used to have grown-ups around and then they were suddenly thrown into a situation where there were non. At first they were thrilled with happiness but like usually when children are left alone in the dark they start to fear and that happened to these boys also. First ones who began to feel terror and saw nightmares were the little ones but gradually all the boys felt fear. When they were all scared of the beast, the survival instinct started to play a role in boys life and that was probably one of the reasons why boys turned into savages . The other cause would be the fact that there is an evil side in every person. Golding presented the conflict between good and bad as the conflict between

To escape the oppressive atmosphere of the village and the stringent Puritan expectations, Mary retreats to the woods where she befriends a local Native American boy. Despite dire warnings from all who care about her, Mary persists in keeping her journal, gallivanting through the woods, and making dangerous comments. Even though Mary has assisted her community on numerous occasions, when things begin to go poorly for the village, accusatory fingers are quickly pointed. The fear and superstition are palpable in this diary-style novel. Readers sense impending doom at every turn as a community resorts to blaming witchcraft for every ill and sufficient evidence of guilt comes in the form of disgruntled allegations from jealous neighbors. As Mary prepares to run for her life, she sews the pages of her diary into a quilt; these preserved pages are purported to be the source for the published novel. This book conc

At least they wished to find some way of knowing when she was coming, so they might have time to run away. Indeed, something had to be done, for they lived in such constant fear of her claws that they hardly dared stir from their dens by night or day. Many plans were discussed, but none of them was thought good enough. At last a very young Mouse got up and said: "I have a plan that seems very simple, but I know it will be successful. All we have to do is to hang a bell about the Cat's neck. When we hear the bell ringing we will know immediately that our enemy is coming."

To be sure of that, they are coing to make a test and drill two wells to take purified CO2, inject it into the ground and monitor the physical changes that CO2 undergoes. This technology is really new and it is unknown to people. It has not been proven yet, so people are scared and concerned about it. The biggest fear is that carbon dioxide will leak out but we don't have to be worried about that, because CO2 is everywhere around us and it is not poisonous. But still, if we have very concentrated carbon dioxide, it is hazardous and that's purpose of monitoring. Rick Russell sees no definite risk associated with the release or damage either to the surface, soils or ground water, because the type of geology they are useing, will protect the planet from this happening. For now, they have given investment

The influence of television

Children who consistently spend more than 4 hours per day watching TV are more likely to be overweight. They usually tend to grab a snack while watching TV or even eat their supper or afternoon snack in front of a TV. Of course, television can be educational and teach children something, such as self- defense whilst also teaching them fighting. Nevertheless, kids who view violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior but also fear that the world is scary and that something bad will happen to them. TV characters often depict risky behaviors, such as smoking and drinking, and also reinforce gender-role and racial stereotypes. Anyways TV is pointless thing and I don`t suggest it because it ruins our life and makes us FAT!

Different cultures

Different cultures

Whether one looks the other person in the eye-or not; whether one says what one means overtly or talks around the issue; how close the people stand to each other when they are talking--all of these and many more are rules of politeness which differ from culture to culture. Third factor is "emotional constraints." Different cultures regulate the display of emotion differently. Some cultures get very emotional when they are debating an issue. They yell, they cry, they exhibit their anger, fear, frustration, and other feelings openly. Other cultures try to keep their emotions hidden, exhibiting or sharing only the "rational" or factual aspects of the situation. All of these differences tend to lead to communication problems. If the people involved are not aware of the potential for such problems, they are even more likely to fall victim to them, although it takes more than awareness to overcome these problems and communicate effectively across cultures.

Singing revolution

Singing Revolution To the end of 80s, the Soviet Union folks didn't want to live under socialistic- communistic order anymore. The Soviet Union was protected with the Iron Curtain, which symbol was the Berlin wall. At the same time, not only Estonia, but also other countries that were under the authority of the Soviet Union, increased the independence efforts. People didn't want to live like this anymore, it was based on fear and commands. The start of the Estonian public announcement of the reindependence is probably the Singing Revolution. To begin with, the Singing Revolution was a non-violent wish expressing and embarked on the Soviet Union to fall apart. The Singing Revolution is a commonly used name for events between 1987 and 1990 that led to the restoration of the independence of Estonia and also Latvia and Lithuania.

Speculation about Shakespeare

Catholic practice was against the law.[177] Shakespeare's mother, Mary Arden, certainly came from a pious Catholic family. The strongest evidence might be a Catholic statement of faith signed by John Shakespeare, found in 1757 in the rafters of his former house in Henley Street. The document is now lost, however, and scholars differ as to its authenticity.[178] In 1591 the authorities reported that John Shakespeare had missed church "for fear of process for debt", a common Catholic excuse.[179] In 1606 the name of William's daughter Susanna appears on a list of those who failed to attend Easter communion in Stratford.[179] Scholars find evidence both for and against Shakespeare's Catholicism in his plays, but the truth may be impossible to prove either way.[180] Sexuality Main article: Sexuality of William Shakespeare Few details of Shakespeare's sexuality are known. At 18, he married the 26-year-old Anne Hathaway, who was pregnant

It was a perfectly ordinary Friday evening

Moving to the next room, we found an old broken sofa with black table. The room next to us opened up a hideous view so that I nearly fainted. Hanging down from the ceiling our neightbour. Her skin was blue and he was completely covered in blood. We stareted running away with sister and then noticed a letter:'' Curiosity can cost the lives of your loved ones.'' Immediately we were thinking of our parents .. without any doubt I started running to home, I had tears in my eyes because of fear. When we came to cottage, we noticed that house was dark, however, we ran into the house ... the parents were not there. We had a panic, but we decided to go up to the second floor .Going up the stairs I step on something,I raised it up, it was our mother's bloody finger. Juba Los Angeleses oma suurema plaadi kallal töötades leidis 50 Cent aega kokku panna ka järgmine undeground album "No Mercy, No Fear", millelt lugu "Wanksta" avaldati Eminemi filmimuusika plaadil "8 Mile".2003. aasta veebruaris ilmus album "Get Rich or Die Tryin".

To swear or not to swear-

To swear or not to swear ?

Swearing has become a natural part of the society. It can be said that almost everybody uses swear words, particularly popular is it among youngsters and teenagers. In this paper I am going to discuss the positive and negative sides of swearing and why people swear. Firstly, people swear beacause it helps to relieve stress and blow off steam, like crying does for small children, to camouflage a person's fear or insecurity, establish a group identity, establish membership in a group and maintain the group's boundaries, express solidarity with other people or just to add humor, emphasis or "shock value" (http://people.howstuffworks.com/swearing1.htm). As can be seen, swearing has many reasons, but the first one is probably the most common. Using a swear word to emphasize something is often necessary as it shows how people really feel about things Secondly, swearing can be also quite beneficial
