Are the e-books and conventional ones competitors to each other? Will they both have independent groups of readers in future or will the future belong only to the e-books? What are the pros and cons of each? Let's have a brief look at the advantages and disadvantages of both. In August 2009 it has been estimated that there are over 2 million free books available for download. Our father and mothers recall times when one had to stand in queues to get the desired books. An e-book can be offered indefinitely, without ever going "out of print". The collection of e-books takes certainly significantly less room than the same collection of conventional books. An e-reader can potentially contain thousands of e-books, limited only by its memory capacity. Depending on the device e-book may be readable in low light or even in total darkness. For elderly readers or for people with visual problems e-books have a remarkable advantage as the
Which will survive - a traditional paper book or an e-book? The e-book versus traditional paper book battle is becoming a hot topic nowadays. There are lots of arguments about the pros and cons of paper book and an e-book but which will survive? Firstly, a paper book is reasily portable and usually cheap. Also it does not harm your eyes that much. To read a paper book you will probably need a light source and obviously you are not carrying it always around. Furthermore you can not carry all your books with you all the time because they are just too heavy. Also paper books are not very environmental friendly. Secondly, an e-book has a lot of good qualities, for example, you can

is achieving success extremely fast. However, it's not expected that the paper books will be disappearing any time soon. Of course, the book, that has been with the man kind for centuries and amused them, will not be giving up to something, that has only been existing for a few decades. Valga's High School students are generally aware of the changes in today's world, including the changes and achievements of e-book.Majority of students are interested in e-books - they are new and interesting, even though in reality they are just simple text files. With the responses i received from the survey, i can confidently say that printed books will not be disappearing any time soon. Nobody can predict when e-books will reach the top or what the e-readers will look like in the future. Nobody knows whether the paper books will endure for centuries to come or not. Merde Actually By Stephen Clarke "Merde Actually" is written by Stephen Clarke, who is a British journalist and a novelist living in Paris. When he first arrived in Paris, he experienced a cultural shock and got inspired by it. He started to keep a diary of his experiences and decided to publish it as a novel when the Anglo-French relationships were at their worst during the Iraq War spring 2003. Therefore his novels (he has written three in this series) have become enormously popular all around the world, especially because they are partly true. Stephen Clarke himself still lives in Paris with his French girlfriend. This novel is considered to be seriously funny and a comedy with a message. "Merde Actually" has one main character whose name is Paul West, but there are also many other significant characters, that come from the previous book "A Year in...

After that came the printer but the next big step up was the invention of the e-books and portable screens that could almost outweigh regular books in every aspect possible. But nothing is perfect in this world so naturaly e-books and tablets have their weaknesses, for example, battery life and portability are the main concerns when deciding to rely on them. Regular books are quite rugged, few bumps and bruses aren't going to make it unreadable, but when u drop your tablet then there's a good chance that it will break and you're going to have to pay quite a lot of mon...

ELEKTRILAENGUD ELEKTRISEERUMINE Elektriseeritud kehaks nimetatakse keha, millel on elektrilaeng. Books Today and Tomorrow Why is it important to read books? Do people read less books than in the past? Will people read less in the future? Books have always played a great role in our lives and reading them is highly important. It increases knowledge and expands vocabulary, which integrates to writing. Reading books makes a person more intelligent and it gives a different perspective. Nowadays people tend to read less books than they used to. The main reason for this catastrophy is the development of technology. People would rather watch moving pictures in the television than pick up an old book covered in dust. In the past, when there were no television or computers to entertain people, books were basically the only amusement. On the other hand the lifestyle of ours has gotten tremendously busy and some do not find the time to just sit back and relax by reading. With the devel...
If I were the Minister of Education in Estonia If I were the minister of education in Estonia, I would change many things. Firstly, I would rather spend our money on building schools and purchasing new equipment for teaching, than wasting it on our tough national examinations, because there are a lot of schools that would need a new building. Secondly, English would be taught as a second language at schools. It must be a compulsory subject, because most of the world's population is talking English. I would have all the textbooks revised so that they would be updated with latest happenings and etc. Especially history, because we are learning from textbooks that are missing a lot of information that has been discovered after the book was printed. Also I would change most of the subjects for optional, that students can choose the best subjects for them. I think that the absences wouldn't be so punishable by the sc...

E-luger E-luger ehk e-raamatute luger ehk luger on tahvelarvutilaadne seade raamatute, perioodikaväljaannete (nt ajalehed ja ajakirjad) jm tekstide elektrooniliselt edastatud ja digitaalselt salvestatud sisu lugemiseks. Lugerite valdaval enamikul on andmekandjaks elektrooniline paber. Elektrooniline paber ehk e-paber on polügraafilise trükiga paberi sarnane elektrooniline kuvapind, mida kasutatakse peamiselt e-lugereis. Elektroonilise paberi väljatöötamise katseid alustati juba 1970. aastail firmas Xerox.

Arthur Conan Doyle Life Arthur Conan Doyle was born on 22 May 1859, in Edinburgh, Scotland, to an English father, Charles Altamont Doyle, and an Irish mother, Mary Foley, who had married in 1855.] Although he is now referred to as "Conan Doyle", the origin of this compound surname is uncertain. Conan Doyle's father was an artist, as were his paternal uncles (one of whom was Richard Doyle), and his paternal grandfather John Doyle. Conan Doyle was sent to the Roman Catholic Jesuit preparatory school St. Mary's Hall, Stonyhurst, at the age of eight. He then went on to Stonyhurst College, but by the time he left the school in 1875, he had rejected Christianity to become an agnostic. From 1876 to 1881 he studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, including a period working in the town of Aston (now a district of Birmingham). While studying, he also began writing short stories; his first published ...

Finch, 2003 Has de ...

1966. aastal ilmusid esimesed rahvusvahelised Punased Raamatud (Red Data Book).
