In Ibsen's "A Doll House" the values of society were related only to the visual appearance of one's home and family. Social acceptance dictated Torvald and Nora's lives, including their relationship. Torvald can be assumed as not only the owner of this "doll house" but of Nora, his "doll", as well. Their marriage had the constant pressures of the image of perfection, and it is this tension that corrupts their relationship. It also forces Nora to realize the self-centered nature of her husband. Nora ultimately changes her resemblance of Torvald's "doll" and becomes an independent and confrontational woman, creating a great contrast with the title of this play. Humans learn behavior through observational learning. Social learning can be seen as a four-step process. 1) Attention (perceiving the model's behavior). 2) Retention (remembering the model's behavior). 3) Reproduction (replicating the model's behavior). 4) Motivation (positive reinforcement and the wanting to demonstrate what has been learned). Bandura et al. held and experiment among children in 3-6 years. They were shown videos of adults acting aggressively on a Bobo doll and then were left alone in a room with the doll. Observational learning signs were revealed in the results of the study. In addition, a tendency to imitate a same-sex adult occurred. Girls were more verbally aggressive and boys more physically. Bandura has contributed a lot to social learning theory.
