Big sell, tiny targets Manufacturers use information about children's leisure activities to target them in many ways. They are targeting children at a very young age. Companies advertise products on children's television. Many of these ads are for foods and drinks, which are not particulary good for children. In addition, the packages in supermarkets that include logos or cartoon characters are attracting children. Marketing targets children at a very impressionable age. Although each parent should monitor what their children eat, drink or play with, big companies are still exploiting children for their own well-being Marko Kostap
Gerda Põdder 112799IABB-22 Big sell, tiny targets (summary) Manufacturers use information about children's leisure activities to target them. Big companies are using many intensive techniques to promote their products. Now big companies are targeting very young people. Often companies advertise their products, like toys, on children's television. Many ads on television are for foods and soft drinks, which are not healthy. Children are easy targets because they does not necessarily care how useless some products are. To be honest, marketing is aimed at a very impressionable age group. Although it is parents' obligation to monitor what their children eat, drink or play with, many companies are still exploiting children for their own financial gain.

Advestising Robert Rivik There are many different ways to advertise, most of advertisments that we see are TV commercials and also we can hear advertisments from radio and see advertising posters in public places. Advertising is good for customers, because otherwise they wouldn't know about new products, that different companies are offering. Advertising also keeps the prices lower, for example, when we watch TV and we see 3 different types of commercials based on the same product, then we choose the cheapest product
,,Lightning". Its perfect name for a enery drink because lightning is very fast and cool so people may think that they will become as fast as lighting when they drink that beverage. Also we should make healthy drinks from fresh fruits and call it ,,Lightning Apple" or something like that so it will be a healthy energy drink. All the bottles must look like lightning arrows and the bottles will be made from recyclable glass. The new slogan will be ,,Faster than lightning". We will advertise it on television and on internet. The product will be pricey to look professional and seem like high-quality drink. We can compete similar products with our professional high-quality packaging which will come with a lightning tattoo which can be removed with water. The product will be launched globaly and because lightning strikes are very well known in many different countries then there will be no problem with culture differences. We will apply to be a
Advertisements The mass media is flooded with advertisements of every kind. One only has to flip through the pages of magazines or newspapers or sit through a television program to see the wide coverage that advertisements receive in terms of space and time. Companies fork out large amounts of money just to advertise their products or services. What, the, are the benefits of advertisements ? Advertisements offer a wide variety of options to both potential buyers and sellers. Through advertisements, employers can recruit workers. People who wish to put up their properties for sale can find buyers or vice versa. Although there are grouses about advertisements, the numerous benefits of advertisements remain undisputed. Advertisements are the lifeblood of many television and radio stations.

Raising awareness is a good solution to reduce underage smoking. Another suggestion would be to ban adverts that supports smoking. We could for example, ban magazine advartisements. It would be a good idea because teens read magazines very often and they see the pictures in them. Many famous or rich people are seen smoking in advartisements, there are flashy pictures of them with cigarettes in their hands or hanging out of their mouths. If we don't have images that advertise cigarettes, smoking would be less glamorous. We could also forbid advertising cigarettes on televison and in movies because teens look up to actors and actresses, they think that it is cool to smoke too. To sum up, there are a number of possible solutions to reduce smoking. However, I belive the best solution would be to take down any pictures with cigarettes and advertisements that promote smoking because unfortunately the media does not show images of the health issues that smoking causes

product, entry of a new firm conveys a positive externality on consumers. The business-stealing externality: · Because other firms lose customers and profits from the entry of a new competitor, entry of a new firm imposes a negative externality on existing firms. Advertising When firms sell differentiated products and charge prices above marginal cost, each firm has an incentive to advertise in order to attract more buyers to its particular product. · Critics of advertising argue that firms advertise in order to manipulate people's tastes. They also argue that it impedes competition by implying that products are more different than they truly are. · Defenders argue that advertising provides information to consumers They also argue that advertising increases competition by offering a greater variety of products and prices.

The existence of market power is tied to the demand conditions the firm faces. If their product is (or can be differentiated), consumers may have a preference for one firm's output relative to others. A negatively sloped demand function (less than perfectly elastic) allows the firm to raise its price and not have its sales fall to zero. In pure competition, the firms may all try to influence market demand but individual producers do not advertise their own product. · Many agricultural markets are close to pure competition. · In many cases some producers try to differentiate their products. In pure competition, the firms' outputs are homogeneous. · If the firm has is no opportunity to differentiate their product they have no incentive to advertise and to try to influence the demand for their product. · If a product can be differentiated by altering the characteristics of the good or simply by

Or is DeBeers forever we don't know, but what we do know that DeBeers definitely was and still is one successful company and made diamonds what they are today. Their advertisements are hilarious and definitely help a lot their success and gives to them advantage to be stronger in the market, even if their output is smaller than competitors one. Many organizations tried to stop DeBeers success and bring them down, but history shows that they are definitely not out of the game

There is a major and intelligent sense in the Rev. Al Sharpton unorthodox madness: he understands that unless Black newspapers receive advertisements from major companies, they will die out and the people will be voiceless. Millions of other Africans have to understand the same madness which is driving Rev. Al Sharpton to target Madison Avenue to convince the companies they represent to stop the handouts of social advertising the occasionally do in Black newspapers, and advertise on the basis that we use their products as much as other communities. Al Sharpton is a true “Capitalist Nigger.” Many of us should borrow a leaf from his madness. The Day of Atonement is a day you wake up with a prayer, thuse: Oh! Some of the consequences were a government false advertising charge against the Kids' maker for continuing to advertise dolls that were not avail- able; frenzied groups of adults battling at toy outlets or paying up to $700 apiece at auction for dolls they had promised their children; and an annual $150 million in sales that extended well beyond the Christmas months. During the 1998 holiday season, the least available toy that everyone wanted was the Furby, created by a di- vision of toy giant Hasbro. When asked what frustrated, Furby-less parents should

You yourself are your most valuable resource, and you must always invest this resource where you can get the highest return. The third question I ask my clients is, “If there is a market, and the market is large enough, is the market concentrated enough so that you can advertise and sell to it in a cost-effective way?” This final question is what often sinks a new product idea. Yes, there is a market, and yes, the market is large enough, but the mar- ket is spread over such a wide geographical area that it is virtually impossible to sell to it effectively. ■ CONSIDER THE CONSTRAINTS A good way to trigger creative solutions to your problems is to apply the “theory of constraints
Then, after eighty-five years of Titanic stories, an unusual coalition of two Hollywood studios, Paramount and 2 0 t h Century Fox, offered the public yet another version — James Cameron's Titanic. N o t only did this one top all the other Titanic- related movies in its production values and opulence, it was also the most expensive movie ever made, costing more than two hundred million dollars to produce and many millions more to advertise and distribute. Director and writer James Cameron's vision, requiring the pooled financial resources of two studios, was so colossal that many observers predicted the same fate for the movie as the ship. T h i s new movie was sure to sink, possibly taking the studios and their top executives down with it. N o matter how popular it would be, no matter how fantastically well-executed were the special effects, such an arrogantly enormous production could not possibly recoup its costs.
