Capital punishment should to be abolished

Capital punishment should to be abolished Capital punishment is a form of punishment where a person's life is taken. This is one of the most controversial topics today. People are either favour or against it. Firstly capital punishment saves money compared to the alternative of life in prison because criminals deserve to die, not stay in jail and live comfortable life. Also when a killer stays in prison he takes up space in already over crowed prisons. Secondly it might prevent the fact that people who have killed someone before, would probably to it again. Because killer`s point of view does not change. Finally it would reassure the people close to the victim it would not happen again. Also it

Corporal punishment

Corporal punishment In my opinion corporal punishment is unnecessary in our society, because nowadays students may react too fiercely. I believe with all the changes taking place in our world today, it is not realistic to think that the idea of corporal punishment would ever take hold again in schools. I think that most children would respond negatively to a change like this and that this change would only create more of a problem in the long run. Bullying can have a very bad effect on the child who is being bullied and on the child who is allowed to go on bullying. Corporal punishment was not allowed in our school. That is strictly denied to physically punish students in any way.

Crime & Punishment

People balance the risks and costs involved in doing a certain act. Upon seeing which benefit outweighs the most, we decide to act. Well, on the other hand we might decide not to act. It depends on the person. Once again it all boils down to evil vs. good in the world. The evil will always be around tempting us all to do the wrong thing, but if we seek after the good and noble things, we can overcome the evil forces that seek to rob us of our freedom and dignity. But when thinking of proper punishment, I, for one, think that we are too lenient. At least in our country. There have been excerpts in the media of how the government wants to reform prisoners and help them getting on their feet after leaving prison. I do not think it would be possible. When taking into consideration that just two years ago a man was sentenced to serve eight years at a local penitentiary for the killings of 6 people, I just cannot agree with it.

Forgiveness and punishment

Forgiveness and punishment Everybody who has ever done anything wrong has wanted forgiveness or gotten punishment. But forgiveness is not easy however punishment is. So should people forgive or should they decide to punish? Firstly people often do not want to forgive others and want them to feel the same pain as they did. As a result of that people want to punish the people who hurt them. Although if the defendant is sorry and regrets what they did, maybe it's okay to forgive. Even though it may be hard to let go of the hatred and emotions in the end it might help to move on.

Capital Punishment Should Be Abolished

Capital Punishment Should (not) Be Abolished Capital punishment or the death penalty is the killing of the person as the punishment for offence. To get the capital punishment, you need to do a very serious crime, like homicide, or even more serious than that. The pros of a capital punishment are that if the person gets that punishment, he or she will never get a chance to do something that cruel again. Sometimes the criminals, who get a prison sentence, do something illegal again, after that punishment. Second pro is that it's cheaper for the country to kill the person, than to pay for his/her food and clothes for the rest of his/her life in the prison. Although the killing of the person also needs money, it's still way cheaper than to pay for at least 40 years for all the life needs in prison.

Essey: Capital Punishment

Capital Punishment The adherents of the death penalty refer to public safety. Still, even though violent criminals are locked away from the society forever, there is also another possibility for the inmate to escape the full punishment. However proving whether one is guilty or not is a very complicated and time-consuming process. From an ethical perspective, the death penalty is, undoubtedly, a violation of human rights. Most death penalty critics charge that it is particularly barbaric when applied to mentally retarded people and juvenile delinquents. In this case, capital punishment looks like senseless cruelty. A number of states had already passed legislation adopted by the Supreme

Capital punishment (essay)

Sandra Demitseva Capital punishment The opinions on capital punishment are usually based on justice and moral. There are people who believe that an ideal community should be merciful even to the ones who have not shown mercy, but there are also people who think that violating the rights of fellow members of the community, particularly if it happens consistently, should be punished as severely as the death sentence. Most Christians are firmly against capital punishment, because they believe that there is some

Capital Punishment should (not) be abolished

Capital Punishment should (not) be abolished Capital punishment has been an ancient way of punishment, which is thought to have started with blood feud and human sacrifices to gods. There are different points of views supporting or held against this sort of punishment. First of all, it is inhumane, primitive and brutal way of revenge, which is contradiction to the basic values of Christian Europe. What is more, it stands in the way of society progressing morally. With this sort of punishment county sets itself at the same level as the criminal and this may increase aggressiveness and lover the value of human life. People who support capital punishment have as good arguments as those who are against it.

Capital punishment - inglise keel

Capital punishment Capital punishment is the killing of a person by judicial process as a punishment for an great offence. It has been used in almost every part of the globe. There is an international organisation called Amnesty International who are fighting for human rights. Thanks for them there are many countries who abolished it. But is it right or should capital punishment exist? Firstly I belive capital punishment should exist because if you gonna take somebody's life it is only fair when you pay for this with your own life. Many people are thinking how cruel it is for a criminal but we should also think of the families that are broken apart because of the merciless acts of these criminals. Secondly it is too expensive to hold prisoners who have lifelong punishment. Especially it affects countries who are financially disadvantaged. It is not fair that taxpayers have to maintain the murders.

Capital punishment should be abolished

Capital punishment should be abolished Capital punishment is a form of punishment where a person's life is taken. Capital punishment has been abolished in Estonia since the year 1998, but the last man was executed in 1991. One of the reasons for not abolishing capital punishment are that a life long sentence is not as effective as execution, and that the death penalty affirms the right to life by punishing those who violate it in the most serious form. For example: death penalty should exist for serial killers. Another reason is that the criminals who would have been executed are now the country's responsibility and they use taxpayers' money. On the other hand, capital punishment is very inhumane. After the execution new

For and against capital punishment

For and against capital punishment Capital punishment as death penalty is the killing of a person by judical process for retribution and incapacitation. And it has advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage of capital punishment is that it permanently removes the worst criminals from society and should prove much safer for the rest of us. It is self- evident that dead criminals cannot commit any further crimes, either within prison or after escaping or being released from it. Another advantage of capital punishment is that country can have minor costs in prison. In other words, the country may very well better spend our (limited) resources on the old, the young and the sick etc

For and against capital punishment

For and against capital punishment If one commits a murder or more, robbes a bank in addition or does something more terrible than human kind could possibly put up, then one is sentenced to death. But everyone can put up a legal murder of a convict. Do people agree with killing a killer, which is nothing more than a publik murder itself? Death penalty is justified if one causes pain for many people. Pain is a strong feeling, something you will never forget if experienced. Haunting nightmeres from the depths from

Capital Punishment Should be Abolished

Capital Punishment Should be Abolished Evidence suggests that the death penalty does not deter people from committing crimes. It is a cruel and cold blooded form of punishment and there have been instances where innocent people were sentenced to death and later found to be innocent. Why is it wrong? Capital punishment is a barbarous survival from a less enlightened and refined age; it is incongruous and incompatible with our present standard of civilization and humanity. It has been abolished by many states and countries, and we must look forward to the day when all the governments will follow this. It's a murder. The first question that comes to mind is, is it ethically acceptable to kill someone? When you execute a person, what is the difference between

Capital punishments should not be abolished

Capital punishments should not be abolished There is a big argument in society should capital punishment be abolished or not? Some people think that some criminals should just spend their whole life in prison and suffer there instead of capital punishment. I think that they deserve capital punishment. Why? If they spend their whole life in prison, it means, they will have three free meals in a day and they can also watch tv, study, work, don't have to pay taxes and some of the prisons look more nicer than someone's ordinary home and who pays for their free living? We do. I also think that some of the criminal are kind of mentally ill and they will never feel guilty of what they did and some are even proud of it if they have murdered or tortured somebody's daughter or

Pros and Cons of the Capital Punishment

groups. On the one hand, there are advocates of the death penalty, who argue that it deters crime, improves community by making them sure, that convicted criminals would never find their way out onto the streets to offend again and it is cheaper than keeping convicted criminals in high security prison for the rest of their natural lives. On the other hand, there are opponents of the death penalty claim that `capital punishment cheapens human's life and government on the same low moral level as criminals who have taken life.` personally, I strongly support this idea. I think, that the government must be smarter and invent some kind of punishment, that would satisfy the wishes of the families and friends of murder victims and at the same time, this punishment should not be a crime. From my point of view, death penalty is the same crime like a simple murder, but it is legal, because the part of

members and friends have to feel. So it seems fair to punish murderer in that awful way, but then murderers family members get hurt and it would be vicious circle. Also the death penalty takes away opportunity to regret those horrible mistakes. Some people can change and would live life properly. But then, some people can't change themselves and they could do same mistakes over and over again. Then it seems right again to punish them with the death penalty. Of course from economical side capital punishment is better than maintaining serious criminals at public expence. Because it is quite expensive to feed and cover those lifetime prisnoners. But the main reason why I agree that capital punishment should be abolished is that when somebody is convicted guilty and later some evidences that prove his or her innosence will come out, but capital punishment is already executed, then it is impossible to bring that human back. It is the worst that can happen.

Educational problems of public school, Report

Report The aim of this report is to compare Estonian and British students opinion on educational system. We wrote down our opinion on the 6th of september 2012 in our english class. We had 12 students who gave an opinion about the Estonian educational system. Corporal punishment is illegal in British and Estonian schools. 62% of British childrens think that it would be needful but only 31% Estonian childrens have the same opinion. Actually it could be not banned, because if they used controlled corporal punishment it is not likely to be harmful. I would argue that there were actually fewer discipline problems back in the old days when corporal punishment was more common. Most school in England require children to wear school uniform. Estonian children no longer

Report

The result surprised me because it showed that British kids and Estonian kids think very differently. THE SCHOOL UNIFORM Surprisingly, 17% of the questioned Estonian students approved the school uniform, for me it was surprising that so many approved the school uniform. Predictably, 74% of the questioned British students approved school uniform, which was expected, because school uniforms are more wide-spread in British schools than in Estonian schools. CORPORAL PUNISHMENT ISSUE That topic also, surprised. All of questioned Estonian students disapproved the use of corporal punishment. 62% of the questioned British students agreed to corporal punishment. The results were one end to another. That shows clearly, how different the education systems of Estonia and the United Kingdom are. CONCLUSION This reports shows us, how different the educational systems of Estonia and Britain really are

Law-makers breaking the law: torture as a justified interrogation technique?

Law-makers breaking the law: torture as a justified interrogation technique? 1 Introduction It was Jeremy Bentham who thought of a famous method to give ethics a rational basis. He was fed up with the penal laws where offenders met corporate punishment and together with Cesario Beccaria he stood up to torture, corporal punishment, and the death penalty. He resisted against irrational moral emotions as the instigation for ethical conduct, saying only reasonable grounds could justify the moral decisions of individuals and legislators. And now his theory of is the one that is known for justifying torture (Verplaetse, 2008). Since 9/11 and the following fight against terrorism it became clear that the Bush administration thought of torture as something justifiable while it goes against all

Smacking children

Smacking children Parents all over the world use smacking in the purpose of discipline, even though in reality it is child abuse. Children's behaviour needs to be controlled but they shouldn't be suffering. Firstly it seems to me that parents who continuously beat their children don't care about them. Although few slight slaps for punishment are enough parents still beat them hard. Parents should be the ones who protect children not the ones who children have to be afraid of. In addition some parents equate smacking with discipline although these two are not the same. Teaching is discipline, smacking is punishment. Parents who don't smack their children still discipline them. They are just using ways that don't involve pain. Moreover the law is against all kinds of physical punishments. Some parents still keep

Harsher punishments will reduce the amount of crime.

Is it safe to live your life nowadays? Unfortunately it does not seem like that. Almost everyone can say that they have had some contact with crimes, it can vary from a minor offence to even a murder. But how can we reduce the amount of crime? Are harsher punishments the solution? Firstly I think that if the punishments are as weak as they are now, it won't make the criminals think. They get punished and still commit crimes. Probably the biggest punishment for a petty theft is community service which isn't much of a punishment. It gives the feeling that a person can do what he wants, live like he wants and nothing happens. Furthermore I think that the life in prison is actually quite good. A place to sleep, food and people. Many prisoners who get out of prison are not afraid to go back. They have a stable life there and they are satisfied On the other hand I strongly believe that everything starts at home.

Crime

Crime In the sociological field, crime is the breach of a rule or law for which some governing authority or force may ultimately prescribe a punishment. The word crime originates from the Latin crimen. Even in society there are always black sheep and these people are called 'criminals'. Estonia is a relatively safe country, although there are some situations, where people should be more careful crime has been increased lately. We could count different type of crimes, but most common are smuggling and robberies. Many people like something, what do not belong to them. On the one hand, news are talking about shoplifting,

very unfavorable. Homosexuality is discriminated against everywhere: in at least 80 countries, homosexual acts are forbidden by law (Algeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Bosnia...); in many countries, the punishment can exceed ten years in prison (Nigeria, Libya, Syria, India, Malaysia, Jamaica...); sometimes, the law prescribes life imprisonment (Guyana, Uganda). And in a dozen countries, capital punishment may be actually carried out (Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia...). In Africa, recently, several presidents have brutally acted on their will to combat personally this "scourge" which they consider "anti-African". Even in other countries where homosexuality is not considered a crime, persecutions have multiplied. In Brazil, for example, death squads and skin heads spread terror: 1,960 homophobic murders have been officially reported between 1980 and 2000

Washington and Texas

Except for the Secretary of State, voters elect executive officers independently these candidates are directly answerable to the public not the governor. This election system has led to some executive branches split between parties and reduced the ability of the governor to carry out a program. When Republican President George W. Bush served as Texas's governor, the state had a Democratic lieutenant governor, Bob Bullock. Criminal law Texas has a reputation of very harsh criminal punishment for criminal offenses. It is one of the 32 states that practice capital punishment and since the US Supreme Court allowed capital punishment to resume in 1976, 40% of all US executions have taken place in Texas. As of 2008, Texas had the 4th highest incarceration rate in the US. Texas also has strong self defense laws, allowing citizens to use lethal force to defend themselves, their families or their property. Economy As of 2014, Texas had a gross state product of $1

Such study can take a descriptive, historical, or political approach. It studies the similarities and differences in structure, goals, punishment and emphasis on rights as well as the history and political stature of different systems. It is common to broadly categorize the functions of a criminal justice system into policing, adjudication (i.e.: courts), and corrections, although other categorization schemes exist. talks about the violence in schools what is a very actual theme in Estonia. There comes a new student Kaspar to a city school and quickly becomes popular because he is communicative and talented. He also gets a popular girl-friend, but it all doesn't like to the class leader Anders. There is also a whipping boy Joosep. Kaspar is going to protect him what changes a new classmate to a foeman of Anders. Developing the film uncovers schools violence, relations with parents, pedagogues apathy, punishment and retribution. For me, the film was really galvanic and thought-provoking. In real Estonia it is not that cruel as it is in film, but it may be possible in somewhere American schools. I think the film is too uncharitable and is not educative for everybody. It is possible that some teenagers follow that lead. ,,Class" is a documentary drama with an obvious message - "Violence gives birth to violence" as one teacher has said. Even for simple possession, legal punishment can be quite severe. Laws vary across countries, and even within them, and have fluctuated widely throughout history. Despite drug legislation large, organized criminal drug cartels operate world-wide. Advocates of decriminalization argue that drug prohibition makes drug dealing a lucrative business, leading to much of the associated criminal activity.

Why do people have pets?

Moreover, families too choose to have a pet in their lives for many reasons, for instance having their baby feel a lot more confident with animals. Historians don't know for sure when humans started keeping pets. Dogs were one of the first animals domesticated by humans and have been domesticated for some 10,000 years. According to ancient Egyptian law, taking the life of a greyhound warranted the same punishment as killing a man. As early as 3500 B.C., Egyptians were domesticating wildcats from Africa. They considered cats to be godesses pets. That ranked them above humans, making them the first to be saved if a house caught fire, before the people. As I see it, having a pet at home is a good thing to do. Nevertheless, often having a pet means having a lot of tasks because you have to take care of them very well. Thus, you will wake up in the early morning

There are dangers that one must be aware of. For example one must remember that everything that is once on internet will always be there. Your future employer can see the pictures that you have uploaded to Facebook and other sites like this. And I think that it is bad to share too much personal information online. You will never know who might abuse it and how it's done. There is a lot of anonymity online. That's a danger too because it seems that you can say everything and there will be no punishment but actually it is not like that at all. If there is insulting or threatening online there is a way to find out who did it. There are many children online. So they are threatened too. There are many predators who might claim to be someone that they are not and make friends with children. Then when children trust them they might make them send inappropriate pictures or what's even worse meet them. Also one must think where he does his e-banking and other personal things. I would not

“The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience.”

I have chosen this quotation because I think it is more than true. I think that you should always give a chance to every offer you have given. At least you should make a try for it. We have given only one life to live, we should not waste it. First of all, I think that everything happens for a certain reason. And every bad thing that will come to your life will come also because of something. For instance you have done something bad and then it would be like some kind of punishment and also a good lesson. It will show you that what goes around, comes around. It is karma and I believe in karma. As mentioned earlier, you should always be opened for new experiences and opportunities. That is so because they are meant to be come for a better life. But everything begins form your head. So the most important is to think positively. If you are thinking positively you have got the power to change your life in better way.

Christopher Columbus

I came to serve at the age of twenty-eight years, and now I have not a hair on my body that is not gray and my body is infirm, and whatever remained to me from those years of service has been spent and taken away from me and sold, and from my brothers, down to my very coat, without my being heard or seen, to my great dishonor. It must be believed that this was not done by your royal command. The restitution of my honor, the reparation of my losses, and the punishment of him who did this, will spread abroad the fame of your royal nobility. The same punishment is due to him who robbed me of the pearls, and to him who infringed my rights as admiral. Very great will be your merit, fame without parallel will be yours, if you do this, and there will remain in Spain a glorious memory of Your Highnesses, as grateful and just princes. The pure devotion which I have ever borne to the service of Your Highnesses, and

Mercy killing, also known as euthanasia, refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering. This type of killing is legal in some countries, but should it be punished instead? Although, it is still a type of killing, it is for a good cause. There are people who suffer and want to rather die than to endure agonies, euthanasia is an answer for them. Thus, mercy killing is very humane and reasonable thing to do and does not deserve punishment. The negative aspect of euthanasia is that it is still a form of killing. One should not be in judge over others life, even when it is for a good cause. The fact that euthanasia could be misused is not less important. In conclusion, although mercy killing is a form of taking someone’s life, it should not be punishable when it is for greater good. Is the purpose of law to protect property? Dispute over the purpose of law has been actual for a long time

Freedom of speech

But it is against the rules at school, because it is school duty to go orderly in lessons, listen to the lessons subjects and to do my homework. Along with school rules goes offcourse listening to the teachers talk too. Students are obliged to listen to the teachers talk correctly with attention in lesson. To say something against teacher's words is verboten at school. Same way is verboten to say them badly or abuse them, because to this may follow a punishment. Under the punishment belongs at school a comment, reproof or written explanation about the behaviour. I have got comments mostly from one teacher. It was exactly my ninth manual labour teacher from my last school, who did not liked my creativity. Because of that arised us often arguments frequently they ended with comment. Rarely our arguments took me and Teacher to the deputy head teacher. There solved between me and her all problems. But I am not an only student
