Climate in Great Britain The British Isles which are surrounded by the ocean have an insular climate. There are 3 things that chiefly determine the climate of the United Kingdom: the position of the islands in the temperate belt; the fact that the prevailing winds blow from the west and south-west and the warm current -- the Gulf Stream that flows from the Gulf of Mexico along the western shores of England. All these features make the climate more moderate, without striking difference between seasons. It is not very cold in winter and never very hot in summer. So, the British ports are ice-free and its rivers are not frozen throughout the year. The weather on the British Isles has a bad reputation. It is very changeable and fickle. The British say that there is a climate in other countries, but we have just weather. If you don't like the weather in England, just wait a few minutes. It rains very often in all seasons in Great Britain. Autumn and winter are the wettest.

Snowdrift was caused by strong wind, and it was very interesting to look how everything was going white. It had been a long time since I saw snow, so I was looking forward to see it.But I didn't expect it to come down in such huge quantity. I could sit behind the window for hours, observing the power of nature. It made me forget everything negative I felt that time and gave me an unforgetable memorial. Travel to Riga on 26 October I woke up 15minutes later than my father. My eyes were still closed and I couldn't open them before I got a cup of hot coffee. At 8 o'clock we started driving to Riga.We also had GPS in our car, so it wasn't so boring, because it had some voice commands on and it

This one is for Dr. David Allen Goodwin. My love and gratitude are boundless. Thank you, Dave. You saved my life. Acknowledgments My deepest gratitude to my editor, Hilary Sares, who really dug into this story and made me work for it. Basically, she kicked my ass. By not pulling her punches or letting me shortchange the details, she made me work harder and because of that, this story is a much, much better book. BARED TO YOU wouldn't be what it is without you, Hilary. Thank you so much! To Martha Trachtenberg, copy editor extraordinaire. This book is an important one for me and she treated it that way. Thank you, Martha! To Victoria Colotta, for all her hard work on the interior design and typesetting. She took my plain text and made it gorgeous. Thank you, Victoria!

grass is always greener somewhere else, am I right? But for me and my class, it's a different story. The grass really is greener anywhere else, actually. Why do we go to school? Do we actually want to learn? I think not. Maybe on some level, until fourth grade or something like that, but most of us are in high school to get good grades, so that parents don't kick us out and still give us food and shelter. How to motivate ourselves to come here every single morning and really study, not just sit with your phone out and watch videos or do something not related to studying to keep from dying of boredom? I think that the main reason students skip class is that they just don't want to sit around for 45 minutes. Another reason, I know that from my own experience, is undone homework. We don't want to get bad grades and we choose not to show up. Maybe it's better not to give homework, like they do in Finland. Yesterday, I had 9 lessons

There are many people and usually we are talking, dancing and laughing. About at 03.00 I´m always at home sleeping. It´s Saturday morning, or should I say afternoon. Usually I wake around 12.00 . Then I will eat ``breakfast`` and watch TV. At Saturday I like to be at home. I just rest and chat in computer and talk with my parents. At 5 o´clock we go to my granny´s house. I love to be there. She makes so good pancakes with apple-jelly. Also her house is very homely and cosy. Sometimes we stay there for night to, but not often. If we don´t be there for night we will go back home.
