"Complaint letter" 260 sõna

Dear Neander Taal, Once again, I find disappointment. Once again, I find no satisfaction. Once again, I find that my motivations for writing this letter are not of insult or hatred, but of the deepest love for mankind and the truest concern for its future generations. It is requisite, even in this summary sketch, to go back a few years to see how I admit I have a tendency to become a bit insensitive whenever I rebuke Laivi Tuvahe for trying to leach integrity and honor from our souls. While I am desirous of mending this tiny personality flaw, by brainwashing her apologists with

Constructivism theory

There is no "logic" of anarchy apart from the practices that create and instantiate one structure of identities and interests rather than another; structure has no existence or causal powers apart from process. Self-help and power politics are institutions, not essential features of anarchy. Anarchy is what states make of it. While identities tell "who or what actors are," interests designate "what actors want" and show their behavioral motivations. "Interests," argues Wendt, "presuppose identities because an actor cannot know what it wants until it knows who it is, and since identities have varying degrees of cultural content so will interests." Without interests, however, identities lack "motivational force" and cannot explain action which results from a combination of "desire" and "belief." In his groundbreaking Social Theory of International Politics (1999), he

KING LEAR

Cordelia - Lear’s youngest daughter, disowned by her father for refusing to flatter him. Cordelia is held in extremely high regard by all of the good characters in the play—the king of France marries her for her virtue alone, overlooking her lack of dowry. She remains loyal to Lear despite his cruelty toward her, forgives him, and displays a mild and forbearing temperament even toward her evil sisters, Goneril and Regan. Despite her obvious virtues, Cordelia’s reticence makes her motivations difficult to read, as in her refusal to declare her love for her father at the beginning of the play. Goneril - Lear’s ruthless oldest daughter and the wife of the duke of Albany. Goneril is jealous, treacherous, and amoral. Shakespeare’s audience would have been particularly shocked at Goneril’s aggressiveness, a quality that it would not have expected in a female character. She challenges Lear’s authority, boldly initiates an affair with Edmund, and wrests military power away

Priorities of Estonian History

3 In my opinion, attaining this evenhanded analysis of the past is one of the main priorities of Estonian historical research. Historians must take a balanced look at all the sources, considering others' points of view. Indeed, this is essential to historiography in general, that historians remove themselves from their own passions and narrow outlooks to see things the way his or her subjects saw them, consider what biases he or she was subject to, what his or her motivations and aims were. In Estonian historiography, for example, records refer to Soviet control over Estonia as either "liberation" or occupation." As historians, it is our imperative duty to consider both sides, and in our writing to refer to this Soviet control as just that, Soviet control. Such a term lacks negative or positive connotations. In fact, it lacks connotations entirely. Another way historians might address this issue would be to say or write something like,

Consumer behavior

12.2011 Consumer behavior Introduction Each and every one of us is a consumer. We buy products and services every day. But why do we prefer one product or service to another? What leads us to make the right decision before every purchase? There are many aspects influencing our decision making process and thereby our consumer behavior. Attitudes, perceptions, image, roles, motivations, determinants etc. encourage us to buy or not to buy a product or service. (Cooper & Gilbert, 2008, p. 43) There are many different definitions about consumer behavior. Emphasizing the most important ones and referring to the decision making models I will try to find the background of my own decision to visit Lapland in 2010 Christmas. Defining consumer behavior

committed in World War II and by visions of his dead wife. As he investigates he becomes more and more sure that there is something sinister being kept secret on the island and more afraid that he may never escape. That probably doesn't really do the plot justice but I'm afraid if I say to much I'll give away the ending. The way that Scorsese has crafted this film is really remarkable. The scenes are layered in a way where you never really know the true motivations behind many of the characters. A mystery in the truest sense of the word. The acting is top notch as well which just lends more to the mystery. DiCaprio is great as Teddy Daniels a man desperate to find the truth about the island. Even as he becomes more paranoid and distrustful you always feel as if you identify with him and want him to succeed. Another great performance is given by Ben Kingsley as the head psychiatrist Dr. John Cawley he has a calm demeanor but seems reluctant to help in

and locality. They simply debunked the myth that a new accent emerged. Other areas of interest to linguists were the possible causes of the rise and alleged spread of the variety, its possible influence on other accents, as well as its future prospects. Again, it has not been proven that Estuary English is spreading geographically, although single features of London speech may be. The process of EE creation is not new and the motivations for its emergence may only be speculated about although the most plausible ones seem to be dialect levelling and koineisation in the south-east region. These phenomena are a consequence of long-term accommodation of speakers from various backgrounds. The role of the media in its spread is overestimated, but one thing is certain about them. They have created animage of a monster that endangers the `pure' English language. References: Ryfa, J. (2003) Estuary English A controversial issue

Whilst many backpackers are in a moratoric or transitional phase of life (Maoz & Bekerman, 2010), such as on a ‘gap year’ or ‘overseas experience’, which may be temporally viewed as an episode, Uriely et al. (2002) do observe evidence of ‘serial backpacking’, in which multiple backpacking trips may be pursued after an initial backpacking experience, sometimes reflecting changing motivations across a ‘backpacking biography’ or a single trip. Whereas Uriely (2005) leverages these observations to further a 2 late modern understanding of the phenomenon as pluralised, he does not pursue how these diverse and episodic experiences may be assembled into a mobile lifestyle that offers a unique sense of identity to its adherents and forms a recognisable social identity within a broader

Colonial expansion under the crown of Castile was initiated by the Spanish conquistadores and developed by the Monarchy of Spain through its administrators and missionaries. The motivations for colonial expansion were trade and the spread of the Catholic faith through indigenous conversions. Successful integration projects are driven more by a focus on how to improve service fragmentation for a group of patients. The focus is likely to be on long-term conditions and care for older people due to the challenges of coordinating care for these groups. Internal factors can therefore have a key role to play with, for instance, the motivations and goals of individual health care professionals potentially an important catalyst (Simoens and Scott, 2005). 17 What is integrated care? Evaluating integrated care This report has highlighted the practical value of gaining greater conceptual clarity about integrated care. Along with greater conceptual clarity, there is a need for more robust and high-quality evaluation of integrated care. This would help address the lack

If their desire to control or influence the actions of their adult child is thwarted – as it usually is – they will start to criticize or show their disapproval, or try to make the child feel guilty, all in an unconscious attempt to preserve their role, their identity. On the surface it looks as if they were concerned about their child, and they themselves believe it, but they are only really concerned about preserving their role-identity. All egoic motivations are self-enhancement and self-interest, sometimes cleverly disguised, even from the person in whom the ego operates. A mother or father who identifies with the parental role may also try to become more complete through their children. The ego's need to manipulate others into filling the sense of lack it continuously feels is then directed toward them. If the mostly unconscious assumptions and motivations behind the parent's compulsion to manipulate their children were

Failing this route to obedience with the authority, every subject finally followed his better instincts and ended the shocks. As in the other experimental variations, such a result would hardly be expected had the subjects' motivations involved some form of sadism or neurotic aggressiveness. l To Milgram's mind, evidence of a chilling phenomenon emerges repeatedly from his accumulated data. "It is the extreme willingness of adults to go to almost any lengths on the command of an authority that constitutes the chief finding of the study" (Milgram, 1974). There are sobering implications of this finding for those concerned about the ability of another form of authority-government-to extract
