ISLAM

ISLAM Islam is a monotheistic and Abrahamic religion articulated by the Koran, a book considered by its adherents to be the verbatim word of God. By the teachings and normative example of Muhhamad, considered by them to be the last prophet of God. An adherent of Islam is called Muslim. Muslims believe that God is one and incomparable and the purpose of existence is to worship God. Muslims are beliving that Islam is the complete and universal version of a primordial faith that was revealed before many times throughout the world, including notably through Noah, Adam, Abraham, Jesus and Moses, whom they consider prophets. They belive that the previous messages and revelations have been partially misinterpreted or alerted over time, but consider the Arabic Koran to be both the unalerted and the final revelation of God. Homereading 4 Changing world Religions Islam Islam is a monotheistic Abrahamic religion originating with the teachings of Muhammad, a 7th century Arab religious and political figure. The word Islam means "submission", or the total surrender of oneself to God An adherent of Islam is known as a Muslim, meaning "one who submits (to God)". There are between 1.1 billion and 1.8 billion Muslims, making Islam the secondlargest religion in the world, after Christianity. Muslims believe that God revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad, God's final prophet, and regard the Qur'an and the Sunnah (words and deeds of Muhammad) as the fundamental sources of Islam. They do not regard Muhammad as the founder of a new religion, but as the restorer of the original monotheistic faith of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets.

Why do we need morality
6

Why do we need morality?

For example utilitarianists think that most important are human flourishing and amelioration of suffering, whereas contractual system emphasise the resolution of conflicts. A virtuous person is someone who believes and follows all the purposes. The goal of morality is to create virtuous and happy people, who will develop a flourishing community. It is important that humankind uses its deepest potential for the greater good. The moral values do not depend on the religion, culture or individualities. They are the absolute universal principles that apply everywhere. But of course it depends on the context and some rules can exclude others. For example when one lies to save an innocent life. Most of the time the good is still good and vice versa. When children are thought moral values from the beginning, they re used to live by them and think of them as basics. Even if one day they break the moral code, they will feel guilty and know that it was wrong.

other? After all, the construction of the mosque wouldn't even be funded by tax-payers. In addition, most of us don't oppose the building of churches, even though Estonia is currently the 3rd least religious country on the planet. Many people fear that the building of a mosque would open a door for Islamic radicalization in Estonia. I for one, find that very hard to believe since the main cause of radicalization is not religion, but the feeling of exclusion. The feeling of not being wanted within society. Many parts of Europe are currently caught in a vicious circle A terrorist attack occurs, so people no longer want Islam in their home town. The muslim population, as a result, feels alienated and pockets of radicalized muslims start to form . Every so often, one of these groups commit another terrorist attack and thus, the wheel just keeps turning

Hume held that since substance cannot be perceived, it should not be assumed to exist. What we call substance is simply a bundle of qualities created by our minds – it is an association of ideas. If qualities were all removed there would be nothing else there. Therefore, substance does not exist. 21. What does Hume thinks about the notions of God, the world and the self? Why? God, the world and even the self, don't exist. 22. According to Hume, what is belief and why is it important for life? Belief is a feeling, a “guide for life”, but we must accept that our knowledge will always be limited, probable and insecure. d. Kant 23. Who said the phrase: “I had to set limits to knowledge in order to make place for faith”? Immanuel Kant 24. What is Kant's philosophy goal? Kant's goal is to save religion from reason and at the same time to save science from skepticism. 25. For Kant, what is a priori knowledge

The poor are recommended be loyal and honest in their worship to their betters and to authorities. The rich and powerful should honestly and loyally share justice and mercy to the poor. Because of that God’s ignition is to have these different types of people come together as one religious community that serves both God and one another through their different strengths. The element “love” is subjected through the Bible again, referencing to the sin of Adam’s. Another way of defining this element is expressed as following:“might be all knitt more nearly together in the Bonds of brotherly affection.”(Winthrop, 1996) Also, this can be looked as the love of the community and the attempt of bringing the society more closer to each other

I faced her and held out the handful of coins I'd collected, but her gaze snagged on the god in the suit and she promptly forgot me altogether. After a beat, I just reached over and dumped the change into the woman's bag. Then I risked a glance at the man again, finding him watching me even as the brunette gushed thank-yous. To him. Not to me, of course, the one who'd actually helped. I talked over her. "May I have my badge, please?" He offered it back to me. Although I made an effort to retrieve it without touching him, his fingers brushed mine, sending that charge of awareness into me all over again. "Thank you," I muttered before skirting him and pushing out to the street through the revolving door. I paused on the sidewalk, gulping in a breath of New York air redolent with a million different things, some good and some toxic.

Idealization of nature in Romantic poetry

Coleridge's "To Nature" is a good example to illustrate the way romantic authors saw nature as something divine and holy. /.../ So will I build my altar in the fields, And the blue sky my fretted dome shall be, And the sweet fragrance that the wild flower yields Shall be the incense I will yield to Thee, Thee only God ! and thou shalt not despise Even me, the priest of this poor sacrifice /.../ Use of the word altar indicates that Nature is something holy, something to pray towards. Also, it is referred to as God, in fact, the authors only God, which proposes the idea that Coleridge truly does see love of nature as a religion and respects it deeply. Certain differences can be specified when comparing Nature in romantic poetry to God and the way people want to connect themselves with Nature/God: for example, as much as God is thought of as something ideal, an amount of respect remains towards him and not accepting

This was not just race problem, it was also affected by cultural differences. Now people are more tolerate but still is seen that some people do not treat them as eqaul. There are so many different religions all over the world. Usually those religions do not bother us but for example islam and also jews are not tolerated in some parts of the world. For me it is quite hard to understand because first of all, we, Estonians and me myself also are mostly not deeply religious and I am not sure if I really know what religion means to them. Secondly, I think those people who have sometihng agains those relgions, do not know about them and their nature, what those religons belive in. The last statement, about God and him putting that force in place, was tricky. I handled it by modifying the entire sentence structure and using key words to tie ideas together. I went back and add the word force to the previous sentence, and made sure driven was in the right spot as well. I wanted to make sure the readers understood what exactly god put into place. I think I did a good job of that, but if you didn't get it the first time please read it again as in my "more evolved" translation. I want the connection to be drawn between the irresistible force caused by love that drives us mad and the force caused by the "soberano" part in our pants that God put there. The most interesting words for me to translate were soberano and impervio. I translated them to mean natural, as in born with it, and amor impervio as true love. There is an entire essay
