HARVENDUSRAIEL KÜTTELAASTU KOGUMISE TEHNOLOOGIA JA MAKSUMUS

Soomlase Juha Laitila 2007. aasta uurimustöös „Harvesting Technology and the Cost of Fuel Chips from Early Thinnings“ käsitletakse harvendusraiel kogutava küttelaastu tehnoloogiat ja maksumust. Uurimustöö tehti, kasutades olemasolevaid parameetreid ning mudeleid. Puistu, mis võeti arvutuste aluseks, pindala oli kaks hektarit ning saadud puitmass 60 kuupmeetrit. Keskmise eemaldatud puu ruumala oli 30 liitrit. Linnulennult puistust terminali oli 40 kilomeetrit. Kännuraha ei kasutatud arvutustes.

Wave-energy

Potential of wave energy The World Energy Council (WEC, 1999) has estimated a conservative number of 2000 TWh/y as potential for electricity generation out of wave energy. Other authors estimate that worldwide waves store up to ten millions TWh/y of energy. But the currently installed capacity is only a few megawatts (3 MW in 2009). Only about five companies offer commercial technology (2010). Twenty to thirty companies are active in research and development of wave harvesting technologies. Technologies to harvest wave energy Catching the energy of waves is like intercepting of waves with a device that reacts to the forces applied by the waves. Wave energy converters can be classified according to the location of installation, the modes of movement and the geometry and orientation of the harvesting device. Location of installation Besides the necessary wave climate, harvesting wave energy depends on the possibilities of fixation

Lady's Slipper

Lady's slipper Common names: American Valerian, Moccasin Flower, Nerveroot, Whippoorwill's-shoe and Yellow Indian Shoe. Bionominal name- Cypripedium pubescens. The plant comes into flowering age only after 10-15 years. Height is 12-30 inches tall. Are found across much of North America, as well as in parts of Europe. This plant grows in the wild in forest lands and meadows, but owing to excessive harvesting, lady's slipper is seldom found growing in the wild. However, to a certain extent, this herb is also cultivated. This plant has only 2 leaves. The color of lady's slipper flowers varies from yellowish to purplish- brown and are borne at the top of an elongated stalk. One petal of the flower changes into a structure akin to a yellow sac, known as the `slipper'. The herb has a plump rootstock that gives rise to numerous curved stems covered with bristles.

are often associated with cemeteries where the trees grow undisturbed. There are many European yews whose age has been analyzed to be many hundreds of years old. The oldest yew on record is the Fortingall Yew in Perthshire, Scotland, which is estimated to be around 5,000 years old Under threat European Yews are a threatened species because they never fully succeeded in regenerating after deforestation, and due to the modern day over-harvesting for Taxol. They have always been considered a trash tree and are thus threatened by deforestation.

Peat consists mainly of partially decomposed remains of plants and humus. The most essential indices of peat are decomposition degree, moisture content, mineral (ash) content, density and calorific value. Although peat is of biological origin, it is not considered a renewable biofuel usually, but a slowly renewable fuel of biological origin. The CO2 emitted to the atmosphere during its combustion is accounted as a greenhouse gas (GHG) similarly to fossil fuels. the plants are not wet for long periods. Weed control: The most important time to keep the strawberry planting weed-free is the first few months after planting while the plants are sending out runners and new plants are getting established. Mulching: Mulching is particularly important on clay soils or those that remain wet for much of the year.( plastic mulch) Renovation and fertilization: Renovate strawberries immediately after harvesting to help reduce disease, stimulate vigorous new growth, and prolong the life of planting. Diseases and Pests 1)Botrytis fruit rot (gray mold) 2)Verticillium wilt 4)Leather rot: 6)Tarnished plant bugs 7)Spittlebugs: Harvest For maximum sweetness and flavor, it's good to pick June-bearing and day-neutral berries a day or two after they are fully red. Berries picked before they are completely red will eventually turn red, but they will not sweeten.

Scientific point of view: trees have less developed nervous system Natural point of view: crops perish if not cut, animals are killed long before their normal death. Intuitive point of view: harvesting has festive atmosphere, slaughtering horrific atmosphere. Parents will happily take children to see harvesting, almost never to see slaughtering. Why? That's why vegetarian food is much more preferrable. Yet Srila Prabhupada's point is much deeper. Birds can be major pests in sunflowers. Especially important are blackbird, goldfinch, dove, grosbeak and sparrow. Many approaches to disruption of feeding have been tried, including scarecrows, fright owls, aluminum strips that flutter in the wind, and carbide exploders. No techniques are 100% effective, as birds will adapt to many of these techniques. However, in many environments, some attempt is wan-anted. Currently, no chemicals are approved for bird control in sunflower. I. Harvesting: Sunflowers are generally mature long before they are dry enough for combining. Seed maturity occurs when the backs of the heads are yellow, but the fleshy sunflower head takes a long time to dry. Often, there are only a few good combining days in October when the seed is dry enough for storage. Seeds should be below 12% moisture for temporary storage and below 10% for long term storage. Seed up to 15% moisture is

wide range of fruits, nuts, bulbs, leaves and other products gathered from wild plants and by the hunting of wild game. The domestication of cattle in the region about two thousand years ago by Khoisan groups enabled the use of milk products and the availability of fresh meat. However, during the colonial period the seizure of communal land in South Africa restricted and discouraged traditional agriculture and wild harvesting, and reduced the extent of land available to black people. Decline of indigenous cookery Urbanization from the nineteenth century, coupled with close control over agricultural production, led black South Africans to rely more and more on comparatively expensive, industrially-processed foodstuffs like wheat flour, white rice, mealie (maize) meal and sugar. Often these foods were imported or processed by white wholesalers, mills and factories

The Pilgrims had a feast in 1621, after their first harvest. This feast has become known as "The First Thanksgiving." The Civil War was the most bitter conflict within the United States. The source of the conflict between the North and the South was about different ways of life. Economy in the South was heavily based on agriculture and growing cotton. The North was heavily industrialized with factories and manufacturing being central to the economy. Growing and harvesting cotton required large numbers of workers. This work force was made up of about 4 million slaves. By the 1800's, the African slave trade had become illegal. But existing slaves were not freed. Men and women of the North wanted to abolish slavery. The South feared that losing the slaves would have a severe economic impact on cotton plantations. Abraham Lincoln was elected as the President in 1860, seven Southern states left, or seceded, from the United States

process. Biofuels are carbon neutral when their combustion doesn't release any more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, than was sequestered by the plant through photosynthesis (Rajagopal, Zilberman, 2007). Nevertheless, there are many uncertainties around the biofuels' carbon neutrality. In the production process, biofuel require significant amounts of energy for tillage, fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation and for harvesting. Nitrogen oxide from fertilisers are known to be particularly potent greenhouse gases with 300 times more potential than CO 2 and it has a harmful effect on the stratospheric ozone (Schaerlmann, Laurence, 2008). Also, as in any other agricultural production, biofuels can cause erosion and eutrophication due to fertilizer runoffs (Rajagopal, Zilberman, 2007). According to the International Energy Agency Report (2007), the fossil energy balance for different biofuels varies greatly,

source for prolonged input of oil components and contamination of the organisms. The use of dispersants very close to mariculture facilities is ill-advised since tainting by the chemical or by the dispersed oil droplets may result. An oil spill can cause loss of market confidence since the public may be unwilling to purchase marine products from the region irrespective of whether the seafood is actually tainted. Bans on the fishing and harvesting of marine products may be imposed following a spill, both to maintain market confidence and to protect fishing gear and catches from contamination. Contingency planning Because of the difficult decisions that will be required during an oil spill in order to mitigate damage and to resolve conflicts of interest, much can be done at the contingency planning stage to identify sensitive areas and to determine priorities for protection. fotosüsteemi tsentris? Valgusenergia (mitte elektronid!) liigub antennist reaktsioonitsentrumis paiknevatele klorofüll a molekulidele, millede vahendusel toimub 19 valgusenergia konverteerimine keemiliseks energiaks.
