Charles Dickens (1812 to 1870) is generally considered to be the greatest English novelist. He wrote novels that exposed terrible lives of the poor during the nineteenth century in England. His novels draw attention to the dreadful conditions in which so many of London's poor lived at that time. Those novels reflect Dickens' own childhood. Oliver Twist tells the story of an orphan, who after spending his early life in a workhouse is sent to work for a hard taskmaster. Oliver runs away to London, where he joins a gang and become a pickpocket. By chance a gentelman takes pity on Oliver and takes him into his house. Although Oliver is forced to return for a time to gang , he eventually is reunited with his family and lives happily ever after.

Is job satisfaction more important than money? There are many people who are in jobs they dislike. If you ask them about unsatisfying jobs, they definitely will answer that they do it because money is more important than job satisfaction. On the contrary, I do not agree with them. Firstly, money cannot buy you happiness. Like it is said, chase money and you will always be running. Moreover, you have only got one life to live happily and happy are you only then, when you have a rewarding job. Secondly, do what you love and the money will follow. Some people are convinced of job importants - enjoy the job you do and you may get promoted and get a pay rise. On the other hand, money is also important. Only with job satisfaction, you do not pay bills. Money is only a vehicle for achieving satisfaction. Initially, when you start up your

I'm Alice, seven years and six months old and very good at daydreaming. I think so because my favourite phrase, that I use very often, is ,, Let's pretend" whether it is about pretending that Kitty is a chess pawn or that I'm going through the looking-glass. I always take my best friends, Snowbell, Dina and Kitty, with me to my quests but they seem to appear as someone else so I usually recognise them only later. But it doesn't matter. They're my best friends in the real world and I talk to them all the time. I think my characteristics come out the best during my dreams. For example I am very curious and I never settle with what's right in front of me. I always want to see more and to do that you also have to be very determined and brave. I wanted to see more from the Looking-Glass world than just the livingroom and after I was offered the chance to become a queen I did not once give up on the long trip to the Eighth Square. Even when ...

Hamlet believes that her mother got married already before her eyes were swollen because of the salt of her hypocritical tears. Her calls his mother wicked as she rushed into that marriage that enthusiastically. Hamlet believes that it won't end happily but he has to break his heart if he wants to hold his tongue.

he has no feelings towards his wife but Jane is too hurt and confused thus decides to leave Thornfield for good. Many years later Jane returns to Thornfield before accepting a marriage proposal from someone else and moving away with them. She discovers that Mr.Rochesters wife has burnt down the house and committed suicide and he himself was left blind because of the fire. Jane pays him a visit and can't find it in her heart to leave Mr.Rochester to die alone. They live happily together, have children and in the end Mr.Rochester regains his sight. In my opinion the reason why Jane, and everyone else in the book, were so attracted to Mr.Rochester was because of his mysterious and deep appearance. Jane must have felt really special that she cought his eye out of all the women. That despite all the bitterness she was the only chosen one that could mend his broken heart and offer him happiness. She'd help him change his old ways and

Because of the rise in crime and at the same time in action movies or series people have started worrying that these kind of movies affect people to commit more crimes. Firstly, action films/ TV series always include robberys, explosions, car chases, shooting and all the other more little crimes. Usually these movies/series have about the same plot, where there are good guys and bad guys fighting and chasing each other. Often in the end good guys somehow still capture the criminals and live happily forward. This actually shows that the good guys will always eventually capture the bad guys and criminals have no chance. Still, they may have an affect to an audience. Because of the action it consists it can increase humans aggression and finally lead to violence. Secondly, there are also lots of children who watch violent films and get inspired by it. Because little children may be not so smart they will think that all the stunts and

" "Yes, I knew. The trick is on you!" Ben said. "Aunt Mary is a friend of my parents and I've been there before. You know it isn't safe to trick or treat at a stranger's house, so that's why I suggested going there." "That's right," John said. That Halloween night Ben and John had a great time trick or treating. And they followed all the safety rules to make it home safely, too. "I can't wait until next year!" they said together, smiling. Then Ben and John walked home, happily planning their costumes for next year all the way.

The book was also about relationships between mother and daughter, people and horses and of course between man and woman. The book is a great example that love can come on the most unexpected moment. Annie a big city girl would have ever guessed that she would fell in love with a farmer from Montana when she is thousands of miles away from New York. The strength of the book is certainly the surprising ending. I was absolutely sure that everyone is going to live happily ever after until the last page. I would really like to know what happens next and I would definitely read the sequel to know what is going to happen with Annie, Grace and Pilgrim. The weakness of the book was that it was a little too easy to read. Usually I notice the hidden message but I did not found it this time. Some places were also a little boring to read when the author was describing places too long.
commit suicide. Friar Lawrence, being a dabbler in herbal medicines and potions, gives Juliet a potion and a plan: the potion will put her into a death-like coma for "two and forty hours" (Act IV. Scene I); she is to take it and when discovered apparently dead, she will be laid in the family crypt. Meanwhile, the Friar will send a messenger to inform Romeo, so that he can rejoin her when she awakes. The two can then leave for Mantua and live happily ever after. Juliet is at first suspicious of the potion, thinking the Friar may be trying to kill her, but eventually takes it and falls 'asleep'. The messenger of Friar Lawrence does not reach Romeo, due to a quarantine. Instead, Romeo learns of Juliet's supposed "death" from his manservant Balthasar. Grief- stricken, he buys strong poison from an Apothecary, returns to Verona in secret, and goes to the crypt, determined to join Juliet in death

Ms. Berger met last summer. As it turned out, Ms. Berger said, "everyone was willing to compromise on their original intention because we shared a vision for a house." Yesterday, the five plus one more, an artist's assistant and friend of a friend of Ms. Berger's, signed a lease on a spic-and-span house with a stupendous backyard in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens section of Brooklyn. "The core of what we wanted was the same," Ms. Berger said happily. "The fact that we wanted to live together kind of trumped all the other stuff." The house, however, comes with a basement apartment that still needs to be rented. Any takers? 4

(Kristi Raava) claimed that she has a phobia of her own, and she has not looked for any help or advice to cure it. According to the psychologist's phobia is a serious disease and if it is not treated, the consequences can be very devastating. The conclusion is that the majority of phobias arise as a result of an event or a shock. A phobia can be cured, even very effectively, but for some reason people find that a phobia is not a big problem and they think that they can happily live with it, but actually a phobia needs to be cured out. When he arrives, he takes it from her happily and sends her away. Othello reenters the room now, enraged by the situation and demands that Iago somehow produce proof of Desdemona and Cassio’s affair. Iago, pressed so by Othello, produces a story in which Cassio calls out Desdemona’s name in his sleep, kisses Iago, and embraces him. He then reiterates that it was only a dream but offers more evidence in that he saw Cassio wipe his beard with the very handkerchief that Othello gave Desdemona and that Iago just retrieved from his wife.

From one point of view this troubled him, but on the other hand he felt that it was better so. 'At first there will be, as this time, something undefined kept back, and then she will get used to it. In any case, I can give up anything for her, but not my independence,' he thought." Chapters 26-32 The men attend a conference on farming. The women are at home. Anna is in a bad situation, feeling so lonely that she now takes drugs (morphine) to fall asleep. Meanwhile, Kitty is in Moscow, happily waiting for her child to be born. At the conference, Levin and Vronsky disagree on almost everything to do with farming. Vronsky is a new type of farmer, a modern kind who indulges in the industrialization of farming. It doesn't occur to Vronsky to make his peasants equal partners. Levin doesn't see farming as "industry." He wants equality on the land. During the conference, Vronsky gets a note from Anna saying the baby is ill and he must return home immediately
As harbingers preceding still the fates And prologue to the omen coming on, Have heaven and earth together demonstrated Unto our climatures and countrymen.— But soft, behold! lo, where it comes again! Re-enter Ghost I'll cross it, though it blast me. Stay, illusion! If thou hast any sound, or use of voice, Speak to me: If there be any good thing to be done, That may to thee do ease and grace to me, Speak to me: Cock crows If thou art privy to thy country's fate, Which, happily, foreknowing may avoid, O, speak! Or if thou hast uphoarded in thy life Extorted treasure in the womb of earth, For which, they say, you spirits oft walk in death, Speak of it: stay, and speak! Stop it, Marcellus. MARCELLUS Shall I strike at it with my partisan? HORATIO Do, if it will not stand. BERNARDO 'Tis here! HORATIO 'Tis here! MARCELLUS 11 'Tis gone! Exit Ghost We do it wrong, being so majestical,
Her report was highly favourable. Sir William had been delighted with him. He was quite young, wonderfully handsome, extremely agreeable, and, to crown the whole, he meant to be at the next assembly with a large party. Nothing could be more delightful! To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love; and very lively hopes of Mr. Bingley's heart were entertained. "If I can but see one of my daughters happily settled at Netherfield," said Mrs. Bennet to her husband, "and all the others equally well married, I shall have nothing to wish for." In a few days Mr. Bingley returned Mr. Bennet's visit, and sat about ten minutes with him in his library. He had entertained hopes of being admitted to a sight of the young ladies, of whose beauty he had heard much; but he saw only the father. The ladies were somewhat more fortunate, for they had the advantage of ascertaining from an upper window that he
And they stick together the way a family should -- camping trips every other weekend... Just because they're newcomers, people have to talk." It was the longest speech I'd ever heard Charlie make. He must feel strongly about whatever people were saying. I backpedaled. "They seemed nice enough to me. I just noticed they kept to themselves. They're all very attractive," I added, trying to be more complimentary. "You should see the doctor," Charlie said, laughing. "It's a good thing he's happily married. A lot of the nurses at the hospital have a hard time concentrating on their work with him around." We lapsed back into silence as we finished eating. He cleared the table while I started on the dishes. He went back to the TV, and after I finished washing the dishes by hand -- no dishwasher -- I went upstairs unwillingly to work on my math homework. I could feel a tradition in the making. That night it was finally quiet. I fell asleep quickly, exhausted.
Cary set his elbow on the counter and leaned in, his long bangs covering one vibrant green eye. "So what happened after he helped you up?" I shrugged. "Nothing." "Nothing?" "I left." "What? You didn't flirt with him?" I took another bite. Really, the meal wasn't bad. Or else I was just starving. "He wasn't the kind of guy you flirt with, Cary." "There is no such thing as a guy you can't flirt with. Even the happily married ones enjoy a little harmless flirtation now and then." "There was nothing harmless about this guy," I said dryly. "Ah, one of those." Cary nodded sagely. "Bad boys can be fun, if you don't get too close." Of course he would know; men and women of all ages fell at his feet. Still, he somehow managed to pick the wrong partner every time. He'd dated stalkers, and cheaters, and lovers who

Movie and television executives, producers, and directors have told me the book influenced their projects and helped them solve story problems. Novelists, playwrights, actors, and writing teachers have put the ideas to use in their work. Happily, the book has won acceptance as one of the standard H o l l y w o o d guidebooks for the screenwriting craft. Spy magazine called it "the new industry Bi ble." Through the various international editions (U.K., German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Icelandic, etc.) it has radiated to greater Hollywood, the world community of storytellers. Filmmakers and students from many countries have reported their interest in the Hero's Journey idea and their appreciation for the book as a practical
_ Chapter 2 RECIPROCATION we've had an unbelievable increase in sales {from Illinois distributor]. The most fantastic retail idea we've ever had! ... On the average, customers purchased about half the total amount of the BUG when it is picked up.... In one word, tremen- dous! We've never seen a response within our entire organization like this [from Massachusetts distributor]. The Amway distributors appear to be bewildered-happily so, but nonetheless be- wildered-by the startling power of the BUG. Of course, by now you and I should not be. The reciprocity rule governs many situations of a purely interpersonal nature where neither money nor commercial exchange is at issue. Perhaps my favorite il- lustration of the enormous force available from the reciprocation weapon of influ- ence comes from such a situation. The European scientist Eibl-Eibesfeldt (1975)
Your mind will speed up and gen- erate ideas for goal accomplishment. The more positive, excited, and enthusiastic you are about achieving anything, the more rapidly your mind goes to work to bring it into your life. Think about how you would feel if you had achieved your goal. Would you feel proud, happy, relieved, joyous, or exhilarated? What- ever the emotion would be, you should confidently and happily imagine yourself enjoying the exact feeling that you would have if your goal were already a part of your life. If you want to earn more money and achieve a higher standard of living, imagine that you are already there, living the life you de- sire. Imagine how you would feel. Close your eyes and get the feeling of happiness, joy, and inner satisfaction. ccc_tracy_9_154-178.qxd 6/23/03 3:38 PM Page 158
