His first short story was published in 1825 anonymously without payment and later he began writing under pen name `Boz' and described conditions of poverty in England. Ten years later he married Catherine Hogarth with whom he had 10 children. In 1842 he visited USA where he was treated as a celebrity because he was very well-known there. Between 1837 and 1865 some of his finest writings were published, many of them in instalments or monthly parts such as Oliver Twist and Christmas Carol. When Dickens and his wife separated in 1858, he began to work very hard and at his health, he eventually became exhausted and ill. Charles Dickens died in 1870 and he was buried at Westminster Abbey.
