Emu

The emu is the largest bird in Australia. There are three subspecies of emus in Australia. They are soft-feathered, brown and they reach up to 2meters. The feather structure prevents heat from flowing into the skin, permitting Emus to be active during the midday heat. Emus can live between 10 and 20 years. They have long legs and they can sprint at 50 km/h. They feed on a variety of plants and insects and they drink seldom, and they may travel long distances to find food. They are endowed with good eyesight and hearing. Interesting facts Emus ingest stones to grind food in the digestive system. Females can mate several times and lay several batches of eggs in one season People growns emus on farm to get emus meat, feathers and emu oil. Emu fat is rendered to produce oil for cosmetics, dietary supplements, and therapeutic products. A baby Emu Klõpsake juhtslaidi teksti laadide redigeerimiseks Teine tase Kolmas tase

Tensions between American colonials and the British during the revolutionary period of the 1760s and early 1770s led to the American Revolutionary War. On June 14, 1775, the Continental Congress, convening in Philadelphia, established a Continental Army under the command of George Washington. Proclaiming that "all men are created equal" and endowed with "certain unalienable Rights," the Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, drafted largely by Thomas Jefferson, on July 4, 1776. This meant war. Britain lost the war and lost America. It recognized the United States as a separate country in 1783. The population of the USA is about 270 million people. They are called Americans. Taking this concept to its extreme one would now be under the impression that all that the past European forefathers have passed on all their acquired traits to the younger generations following them. The reasoning powers of the great philosophers, the valour of Crusading knights should have been endowed in all rather than a meagre few. According to this theory of evolution descendants could one day attain the heights Europeans had already scaled. The Lamarckian evolution had only one crucial defect, it was entirely untrue. One could cut off a rat's tail, but its offspring would have normal tails. The rules of genetics were not known in Lamarck's day, and were not known until long after Darwin's, when the pioneering work of Mendel was rediscovered at the turn of the twentieth century

1 The Death of the Author In his story Sarrasine, Balzac, speaking of a castrato disguised as a woman, writes this sentence: “It was Woman, with her sudden fears, her irrational whims, her instinctive fears, her unprovoked bravado, her daring and her delicious delicacy of feeling” Who is speaking in this way? Is it the story’s hero, concerned to ignore the castrato con- cealed beneath the woman? Is it the man Balzac, endowed by his personal experience with a philosophy of Woman? Is it the author Balzac, professing certain “literary” ideas of femininity? Is it universal wisdom? or romantic psychology? It will always be impossible to know, for the good reason that all writing is itself this special voice, consisting of several indiscernible voices, and that literature is precisely the invention of this voice, to which we cannot assign a specific origin: literature is that neuter, that

ESTONIAN SYMPHONIC MUSIC. THE FIRST CENTURY 1896-1996.

What do I mean by this term? For example, one can speak of the symphonism of Eduard Tubin, Artur Kapp and Arvo Pärt. In its best and exact sense symphonism means the creation of a sublime philosophical idea in music in an intense extensive and developing form. Symphonism is a way of thinking through the medium of music and therefore perhaps the most prefect way in its singularity. Only an artist whose inner world is rich in thought and perception and who is endowed with a strong faculty of logical thinking and powerful fantasy, can develop into a symphonist. In symphonism both the dynamics of inner and outer world conflicts, collisions and dialectics springing from the synthesis of opposing forces are revealed. Due to these qualities symphonism becomes apparent in opera, oratorio, concerto and chamber music. However, the broadest opportunities for the method are pronounced in orchestral music.
