Blackpool Dance Festival Introduction I´m going to talk about a famous annual ballroom dance competition. I chose this subject because I have always admired their dresses, because these are always different and very sparkling. This competition is also well-known all over the world. Blackpool The festival takes place in Blackpool. A seaside city in the north-west of England. The population of this town is 142 900. The headquarters of an outstanding British sports car manufacturer TVR are also located in Blackpool. The biggest income of this town is based on
Thanksgiving weekend. At the beginning of the weekend, Frank takes Charlie to New York, where he reveals to the student that he intends to visit his family, have a few terrific meals, sleep with a beautiful woman and, finally, commit suicide. Over the weekend, as they learn about life through their series of adventures, they start trusting eachother. Two absolute favourite scenes: The first is in the New York ballroom where the blind Lt. Colonel teaches a lady to dance the tango. It is so smooth and dramatic that even a couch potato is tempted to dance along. The second and most profound is the speech that Al Pacino makes in defense of Charlie at the prep school disciplinary hearing. It has to go down as one of the great orations of all times. I also love the ferrari scene, where Charlie allows the Colonel to drive. In my opinion the purpose of this film is to make people think more about others. It
commissioned in 1848 to design new offices, cottages and other ancillary buildings.[11] Improvements to the woodlands, gardens and estate buildings were also being made, assisted by the landscape gardener James Beattie and the painter James Giles.[5] After seeing a corrugated iron cottage at the Great Exhibition of 1851, Prince Albert ordered a prefabricated iron building for Balmoral from E. T. Bellhouse & Co., to serve as a temporary ballroom and dining room.[12] It was in use by 1 October 1851, and served as a ballroom until completion of the new ballroom in 1856. CastleRoyal Family Major additions to the old house were considered in 1849,[11] but by then negotiations were underway to purchase the estate from the trustees of the deceased Earl Fife. The sale was completed in November 1851, the price being £32,000, and Prince Albert formally took possession the following autumn.[5][14]
age are already know what they really likes to do. In younger age people are changed their hobbies, because they want to do that what they really like, and searching it is takeing some time. Is it expensive to have a hobby? Explain. It depends what kind of hobby you like to do. When you like for example folk dancing then it is not expensive, because dancers didn't have to buy those clothes. But when your hobby is dancing the ballroom dance, then it costs very much, the dresses what people wear when they are dancing pays very much, of course you can lend those dresses but it also pays much. The person who answered to me their hobbies didn't costs much, only their hobbies who loved to riding a horse. Horses costs so much and keeping them is cost the other same what the horse costs. What unusual hobbies have you heard of? Most popular unusual hobby what people have heard of is collecting cars or different bugs

[3] Dance and health has been subject of a number of research studies that show dance to be a very healthy exercise.[6] It’s a weight-bearing activity, which builds bones, says Catherine Cram. It's also wonderful for your upper body and strength. New ballroom dancers may feel muscles they didn't know they had. Ballroom dancing works the backs of the thighs and buttock muscles differently from many other types of exercise, tells Ken Richards. The legs and arms often do the flashy dance moves. But they're sunk without a strong body core. The core muscles, abs and back, are also used in Pilates, says Janice Byer. But in reality she is a real genius at solving crimes. She is calm and does not like to make premature conclusions and to tell everybody about them. Her style for solving crimes was unusual-she made parallels with the people from her village and what they would do at the same situation (as a murderer or suspect) and she was excellent at knowing people. Ruby Keene was the murdered girl. She was young and dim-witted. She worked as a Ballroom dancer at the Majestic Hotel and had to communicate with people. She was a likeable person, the customers of the hotel liked her although it was obvious that she was not very bright. Josie turner was also a dancer at the hotel. She was somehow related to the girl. Turner was not a very nice person. She was very calm when she heard about the murder and did not seem to be surprised nor sad, more like confused. The hotel staff wasn't very fond of her and neither were the detectives
"Through his Brutus as through his Horatii, David talks to the people more directly and more clearly than all the inflammatory writers whom the regime has confiscated and burned" (Friedlaender, 1952, p.18,19) In 1791, David was offered to do a panting about a very notable event in the course of the French Revolution: the oath of the tennis court. On the 20 th June of 1789 the freshly assembled Parliament was not able to enter the Versaille and therefore they gathered in a ballroom, where they swore an oath to stay together until a new constitution has been made. David believed the painting to be so big and detailed that it would take at least 4 years to complete it. Unfortunately, the political situation changed really quickly and radically, that he only managed to do some sketches. Overall, in the 18 th century historical representations in art from were extremely rare, therefore even only sketches of the Tennis Court Oath became very famous. (Friedlaender, 1952, p.22)
that avoids having to carry them up, lay them on the stand, and play with or shuffle them. This technique, however, is not foolproof. Someone did that once and the speaker before me inadvertently carried his notes away with him. (One solution is to place your notes underneath, on the small shelf usually located within the lectern.) · The worst of all room settings is a small audience seated in a large room. Speaking to a small group in the ballroom of a hotel is intimidating to everyone: The speaker is distracted by all the empty space and the audience is reluctant to relax or become involved with the speaker. The only ways to counteract this are (1) try to encourage the audience to come and sit closer together down in front, and (2) try to position yourself as close to the audience as possible. The objective is to reduce, as much as possible, the potential

" I glanced over to where Gideon was standing at the foot of the stairs that led to the stage. He was surrounded by people eager to talk to him, many of whom were women. "You can see he'll be awhile," Christopher said, with a note of amusement. "Yes." I was about to look away when I recognized the woman standing next to Gideon-Magdalene Perez. I picked up my clutch and managed a smile for Christopher. "I'd love to dance." Arm-in-arm we headed into the ballroom and stepped onto the dance floor. The band began the first strains of a waltz and we moved easily, naturally into the music. He was a skilled dancer, agile and confident in his lead. "So, how do you know Gideon?" "I don't." I nodded at Cary when he glided by with a statuesque blonde. "I work in the Crossfire and we've run into each other once or twice." "You work for him?" "No. I'm an assistant at Waters Field and Leaman." "Ah." He grinned. "Ad agency."

Lomper, the mill security officer, has hidden the fact that he's gay, perhaps even concealing it from himself. Guy is a fellow who can't dance, but makes up for it by revealing a secret — he has the fullest monty of them all. H i s willing self-exposure sets an example for the men who will all be slowly unveiling themselves throughout the movie. Horse is the best dancer o f the lot and becomes a kind of M E N T O R to the rest, along with Gerald, who has been taking ballroom dancing lessons with his wife. But even Horse has a secret — the reason for his name — and this one is never revealed. Gaz's steadfast M E N T O R in his quest is his son Nathan, a W i s e Young M a n who voices an emotional wish early in the story, " W h y can't we do normal things once in a while?" H e keeps Gaz honest and on the track, and at the end gives him the courage to face the ultimate exposure, the final test of his commitment to something.
