4 November 2011 Dear Sir or Madam I am writing in reply to your advertisement in a magazine. I would be interested in publishing my work. I would be grateful if you could answer some questions, as the advertisement was rather brief. First of all, I would like to know if you have set an age limit or a deadline. I also wonder whether the poetry is acceptable and where the work will be published. Finally, could you inform me if I may send in my manuscript by e-mail. I look forward to receiving your reply. Love and forgiveness Is it hard to forgive someone, that you love? Most of the people think that asking for forgiveness makes you look like a loser. In asking for forgiveness you also have to admit you are wrong and people do not like to do that. Nobody wants to be humiliated. In the first place, when someone has insulted you, and the person admits that he has been wrong, then i see no reason why not to forgive him. I think that it is important that the person himself understands his fault. Everyone needs a second chance. Furthermore, you want to forgive someone, who is really related to you. However, you cannot forgive everything

The film tells the story of Bree, a transsexual woman (Felicity Huffman), who goes on a road trip with her long-lost son Toby (Kevin Zegers). The movie is marked by an Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning performance by Huffman, who is also known for her performance in Desperate Housewives. The character's name is Bree - which turns out to be short for Sabrina. One day Bree receives a phone call from someone asking for Stanley - her old male name. It is from a New York police station, asking if Bree will stand bail for a young man called Toby (Kevin Zegers) - taken in for prostitution - who is a son she fathered by a one-night stand 17 years ago. Bree's therapist says the surgery consents cannot be signed until she gets "closure" on this, so Bree is forced to travel to New York - posing as a Christian saver of lost souls - to get Toby out of jail, and travel with him cross-country to

QUESTIONS AND ROLE PLAY When you have completed your monologue, you will be asked 4-5 questions related to the topic of your monologue. This is nothing like asking and answering questions: try to behave as if in a real conversation. Respond naturally in 2-3 utterances but you are not expected to be lengthy at this stage. Speak fluently with appropriate pronunciation and intonation and only natural pauses. Express yourself confidently, clearly and politely. If you fail to understand the question, say `Pardon?' with the rising tone and the interviewer will interpret the question to make it clear for you. The following expressions of asking someone
What is expected of a graduate of the 21st century and how does the university play a role in contributing to a succesful outcome? Kaisa Kamenik In Mike Nichols 1967 cult film „The Graduate“, Dustin Hoffman character Benjamin Braddock, who has just graduated from college, is facing basically same questions as posed in the title of this essay. Everyone is asking what is he going to do with his life now, but he is very uncomfortable aswering them and at that point he doesn’t care as well. Being a third year history student in University of Tartu, I am wondering over the same questions and find myself often thinking what is expected of me after graduating and how has university played a role in my development for almost three years now. When asked what is the main purpose of university, most people would say that it is

To distract her, Edward talks about the discoveries he's made while listening to the pack mind last night. For one thing, one of the wolves isn't a Quileute boy at all -- it's Leah Clearwater. Bella reflects how painful it must be for her and Sam to be in such intimate mental contact. Edward unsympathetically replies that Leah is making life as difficult as she can for the rest of them. But Bella persists: if Edward is going into danger, she refuses to be left behind. She considers asking him to stay safely with her instead. Her better part is appalled by her own selfishness, but her instincts for self-protection are stronger. Ignoring her guilt, she tells Edward the one thing she knows will keep him at her side: if he leaves her alone worrying about his safety, it will overset her mental balance again, as it did when he left her last autumn. Edward tries to convince her that her fears are totally groundless and that it will be an easy victory
observed around the world on October 31, the night preceding All Saints Day. Typical Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, watching horror films, as well as praying and attending vigils or church services.Trick-or- treating is a customary celebration for children on Halloween. Children go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as candy or sometimes money, with the question, "Trick or treat?" The word "trick" refers to a "threat" to perform mischief on the homeowners or their property if no treat is given .Halloween costumes are traditionally modeled after supernatural figures such as monsters, ghosts, skeletons, witches, and devils.Because the holiday comes in the wake of the annual apple harvest, candy apples, caramel or taffy apples are

in crimes. Older teenagers had higher violent crime victimization than did younger teenagers. Why? There are many ways to minimise teenage crime. Possible solutions 1. We have to enlarge collaboration with teenages. 2. More hobbies for them like sport or music 3. catch them in to joint action 4. more different interesting opportunities 5. Practice different social skills with him/her, such as greeting others, "breaking the ice," asking questions, and listening well. You also can role-play ways to resist peer pressure, such as offers of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs from other kids. 6. minimise narcotic drug and weapons accessibility 7. Fight against narcotic drugs. The fight against drugs is very important not only for preventing drug offences but for reducing crime as such. Conclusion I believe crime will only get better if the community, and our society, gets stronger.
EUTHANASIA Many hotly debated social questions revolve around choice. Giving people access to assistance in dying is one of them. The issue is too sensitive to come to a smple conclusion. The basic question is : should a person who is terminally ill and who feels that their life is not worth living, who is repeatedly asking for euthanasia and who is of sound mind be given assistance in dying so that they could do it in a dignified manner rather than have their lives prolonged by medical technology? Ultimately, it's a question of choice: empowering people to have control over their own bodies. The main opposition comes from religious groups, medical associations whose members see practising euthanasia as an inproper exctension of their role as carers. Throughout centuries the

3. Main problem/conflict A product recall specialist, suffering from severe depression and insomnia, travels from place to place, overlooking accidents, assessing and deciding whether or not the car manufacturing company should initiate a recall or not. As he's struggling with insomnia he feels like nothing is real. "You're not sleeping, but you're not really awake", as he describes it. He seeks for help from his doctor, asking him for sleeping pills, but instead the doctor suggests him more natural means like chewing ginger. When the main character begs him, saying he's in pain and suffering, the doctor suggests him to join a support group to see what real pain and suffering is like. He joins a support group for men with testicular cancer, despite not having cancer himself, where he meets Bob. The narrator feels better after hearing about others
He is jealous, in a good way, and wishes he could create something as powerful. Shelly admires the most, how the skylark sounds very joyous. People may get their inspiration from happiness but it is often connected to sadness as people dwell upon memories and hopes. Shelly asks the lark to teach him to sound as joyous because he says that none of the existent books could ever teach him such art. Shelly ends the poem by asking the bird to teach him at least half of his skills so that the world would listen to his poetry in the way he admires the Skylark's singing. Wordsworth Wordsworth's poem is more about the speaker rather than the bird. It also praises the lark and its ability to sound joyous but it concentrates more on the wish to reach the same heights as the bird. The poem starts with Wordsworth asking the bird to lift him up and teach him. He wishes to
Truth or Dare? is a party game requiring a minimum of two players. The game is very popular with adolescents, but is also played by some adults and seniors. Rules One player starts the game by asking another player, "Truth or dare?" If the queried player answers, "truth," then the questioning player asks a question, usually embarrassing, of the queried player. If the queried player answers, "dare," then the questioning player asks the queried to do something, also usually embarrassing. After answering the question or doing the dare, the queried player asks "truth or dare?" of another player and the game proceeds as before

What are the most needed professions in the 21st century? People are often asking me what are the most needed professions in the 21st century. I've understood that in Estonia we need mostly newer professions, the ones that are connected with computers. In my opinion one of the most needed professions is a doctor. I know we have a lot of doctors, but a lot of them go to a foreign country. Mostly because of the low salary in Estonia. In my opinion the second most needed profession is a really good goverment employee. Estonians want some changes in their lives

In the future i would like to have a perfect family. My perfect family would be composed by children who are healthyminded and a man who is a good father and right for our family. Also, we would have a house that we could live in comfortably. The house would be just out of town, where nature thrives and also have a beautiful view of the coast. In the house there could be living room where the children can play different games when their friends would visit us. I would prefer to have a big garden for hosting bbq and taking sunbaths in the summer. culture. The Masai of East Africa, for instance, are used as icons of exoticism in toursism, but they have been evicted from their lands. The Masais are selling souvenirs, charging for pictures and performing their sacred dances for tourists to get living. These things show that the destruction is not just a superficial consenquence of tourism, but is often an indication of much more deep-rooted cultural changes. But a quiet cultural revolution is happening. Communities are standing up and asking for something different. Over the last decade there has been a rapid growth in local ,,alternative tourism" initiatives. This means that buildings are built by locals with sustainable local materials, food is bought from local farmers and a limit on development has been set so that local communities aren't being overrun and the the destination isn't overly dependent on tourism.

Rude behaviour and swearing are not tolerated in Britain unlike in Estonia. The people of Britain are more polite than Estonians. The manners, greetings and small talks have to be considerable if you want to leave a British person a good impression. When the question is small talk, big deal? Then in my opinion, there are certain rules, which kind of topics are allowed or not allowed. For the small talks you can`t talk about politics or money. Also bragging isn`t polite.Safe topics are for example asking about pets or about the life of some celebrates. For British, this kind of small talks are very important. One wrong word can ruine the whole impression of you. Bad manners are the biggest problems facing Britain.Spitting and swearing are the most popular ones, along with not saying please or thank you .In britain it is absolutely unacceptable to visit someone unannounced or to blow your nose in front of the other people. But in Estonia these things aren`t really big deal

5-th chapter Root asks about the alert that Foaly has given him. Foaly says that Captain Holly Short is missing. Her locator was seen across the ocean and the coastline. It shows that she went to site fifty- seven. They lose the picture from her helmet but Foaly says that they still have the sound. Root can hear a human voice asking Holly to surrender and talking about the secret ritual. Foaly and Root go back to the camera feed and go through it slowly, seeing in slow motion a hypodermic dart fly through the air. They realize that Holly is missing in action, probably dead. They had a locator which had a very strong signal moving to north. They had blueprints. Blueprints helped to see what´s inside the ship. Artemis hid Holly´s locator into ship. Root didn´t know that and followed signal
peculiar in its own way. For example, Italians are very impulsive. French people don't like the British. Germans are pedantic. Russians are generous, but lazy. What about Estonians? In Estonia when a stranger on a street smiles at you, you can assume that: he is either drunk, insane, from another country or all of the above. Estonians don't smile too often. Estonians are not very talkative either. In Estonian schools teachers have stopped asking their students "Are there any questions?" It is especially hard to keep a conversation flowing with an Estonian when you don't know each other very well. I tried to make a conversation with an Estonian classmate of mine once (whom I didn't know very well) and it sounded like that: Me: So... what did you do during your holidays? Classmate: Went skiing. Me: Cool! Did you go there with your family? Classmate: Yeah. Me: And how was the
It's not a lesson-by-lesson book detailing "forbidden" methods of "tricking" women into going to bed with you. It's actually more of one man's personal number of frustrations and victories of dealing with women.Strauss learns his own lessons. It's a description of one man's journey from master loser, to master seductor. It all starts with Styles account of growing up "far from attractive," and far from satisfied with his sex life. All it took to change that was a call from a book editor, asking Strauss to take the mysterious "Layguide" that existed on the Internet, and turn it into a " how-to book". Through hesitation, Strauss finds himself curious. While investigating this patchwork of notes on how to get busy, he finds himself diving into a world he--nor the majority of people out there hardly knew existed. Becoming one of the biggest parts of it. As he says,If the layguide had never crossed his path, he, like most men, would never have evolved in thinking about the opposite sex
It was a perfectly ordinary Friday evening. Dark, muddy and full moon shining in the sky.Parents decided to go to our summer cottage on this weekend. It is a little old house in the woods, but not far from our house there are ohter summer cottages. Father helped us carry things into the house, after that sister and I decided to take a walk in the woods. Mom asked us to be careful, because people were talking about a creature that was hairy, fast and with bloody eyes and sharp teeth. We thought it is unbelivable and funny, just for people could have something to talk about. After all it seemed impossible. We took different way than usually. We walked until we came to an old, ugly, deserted house. Curiosity was so great that we forgot mom's advice. Approaching the house we saw window frames covered with cobwebs . We decided to open the door even tough we were frightened... Creeeek! We trembled and took a step back .. we realized that it w...

Bored with teaching undergraduates English literature, Frank Bryant morosely reflects through a whisky glass on his failed marriage and his attempt at becoming a poet. His world is turned upside down by the arrival of Rita, a hairdresser who has decided to find herself by taking an Open University course. And then Rita crashes into Dr. Frank Bryant's life wanting an education, although she has no idea what it is that she's asking. Her brash sincerity earns the respect of the doctor who has previously resigned himself to a life of empty lectures and booze. Rita's character is a breath of fresh air for Bryant and he begins to care about someone, or something for that matter, for the first time since his wife left him. As each begins to wake up to life in their own way, the story comes to a close as an inspiring tale of self discovery and of the power choice that comes through education.
