Brands are...

Essay Brands are... Nowadays, the meaning of the word "brand" is clear to everyone. Brands become a part of our life. People buy particular brand and show their brand loyalty. When we talk about Apple or Mercedes everyone has their brand image. Brand awareness raises and we recognize brand name by logo or slogan. So, it seems that brands are necessary. On the one hand they do. Brand is luxury, exclusivity, and the top we should seek for. Everyone wants to be attractive and brands may help to impress other people. Buying brands show that you have taste, you look for newness, it also shows that you can achieve something more, than an ordinary person, because all these brands are expensive and not everyone can buy them. People also buy brands, because they guarantee the high quality of product.

You are what you think you are

You are what you think you are In my oppinion, you have to work hard to achive greater things in life. I do not agree with people who say that karma decides your life, or that everything is decided before you were born. I know, that if you work hard and put a lot of effort in your life, you will be succesful. Of course there are a lot of people, who would disagree with me, and a lot of them have great and logical explanations and theories, but in my opinion it just is not true. For example, every politican or person on a high paying job, who i have ever seen, has worked his way up the career ladder. Usualy they have studied very hard in school, to get to where they want to be. Most of them have gotten to where they want to be. Of course there are people who have gotten

Apperances are deceitful

doc

Apperances are deceitful!

People's eyes are attracted to beauty and it's quite natural. We look at flowers, landscapes, pieces of art, and so on. We understand why it is beautiful. People also think of a man's/woman's appearance as of a masterpiece of nature and enjoy it as much as a landscape in the Alps. But is the essence of this beauty the same? Landscapes are parts of nature, pieces of art are created by gifted people; these objects are not alive, don't possess an intellect, so it is much easier to define the essence of it's meaning and purpose. Humans have divine gift of speech, abstract thinking and freedom of action. We can't but agree that it's very difficult to define, what is hiding behind good looks. Our mind is used to assume that beauty contains only good things. We forget that beauty can also be dangerous. This rule can be applied to some people that use their appearance to harm others for their own profit.

marketers should "give people what they want." The book is telling a story about why marketers must forsake any attempt to communicate nothing but the facts, and must focus on what people believe and then work to tell them stories that add their worldview. HIGHLIGHTS Before marketing, before shopping carts and long before informercials, people started telling themselves stories. Stories make it easier to understand the world. Stories are the only way to spread an idea. Marketers didn´t invent storytelling. They just perfected it. We tell ourselves stories, because we´re superstitious. Stories are shortcuts we use because we ´re too overwhelmed by data to discover all the details. We tell stories about products, services, friends, job seekers and sometimes even the weather. We tell ourselves stories that can´t possibly be true, but believing those allows us to function. Marketers are a special kind of liars

an idea. That shouldn't be new for you. Some people might find it hard to believe, but even the most common things- like chairs, walls, even a pack of bread has been an idea once. Someone had probably felt that his or her legs got tired and sitting on floor might not be so comfortable, so one chose to invent a chair. Think of it- even floor, where people used to sit before chairs were invented is certainly someone's idea and invention. Isn't it strange to think like that? You are probably wondering that why are those ideas then so important? It's a good question and there is no way that it could have that one and only answer. I think that all of you have come across some contests, where good ideas are being searched. For example, several months ago I noticed a contest made by very well-known technology company that was searching for new ideas to implement, which prize pool was up to 2000€. It sounds like a big amount of cash, doesn't it ? In

The British - Who Are They?

The British Who are they? The British are world famous on almost all walks of life. Their culture is rich and varied. Theatre The British have a tradition of theatre. Long, long time ago the culture of theatre was introduced from Europe to the British by the Romans. Many auditoriums were constructed across the country. The most famous British playwright is obviously William Shakespeare. He lived from 1564 to 1616. During that time he wrote about 40 plays, which are still played and used in today's theatre. His plays are performed more often than those of any other playwright. The first professional woman playwright was Aphra Behn. Nowadays there are not so many world famous dramatists in England but the memory of William Shakespeare and many others has preserved until today. Important modern playwrights include Alan Ayckbourn, John Osborne, Harold Pinter, Tom Stoppard, and Arnold Wesker. Music

Summer holidays are too long Summer holidays are important. Children need enough time to rest from school hard work. They have to have time to do all the things they like. Children aren't the only ones who need all this, teachers need it too. Children need long holidays. In summer they can go on vacation with their families and visit all the interesting places. Some kids like water parks and amusement parks, some are interested in museums. They can also visit relatives. Every child wants to play and spend time with friends outside of school, also develop their hobbies. If summer holidays were shorter, they wouldn't have time to do all this. School is hard work. Learning new things all day, and after school there is homework to do. There is quite little time left for children to keen on their hobbies. The book is entertaining though it’s full of problems that the 3 rd world has and it highlights them in almost unnoticeable ways. “Are you experienced “ draws attention to food and water problems that are common in India. There were many detailed descriptions of diseases and parasites, they were rather disgusting. Even the thought of the situation where locals can’t drink tap water or they even don’t have running water in house makes reader as me aware of the issues and makes me appreciate what I have. Estonians and their habits

Estonians and their habits There are hundreds of different countries and nationalities in the world and each one is peculiar in its own way. For example, Italians are very impulsive. French people don't like the British. Germans are pedantic. Russians are generous, but lazy. What about Estonians? In Estonia when a stranger on a street smiles at you, you can assume that: he is either drunk, insane, from another country or all of the above. Estonians don't smile too often. Estonians are not very talkative either. In Estonian schools teachers have stopped asking their students "Are there any questions?" It is especially hard to keep a conversation flowing with an Estonian when you don't know each other very well. I tried to make a conversation with an Estonian classmate of mine once (whom I didn't know very well) and it sounded like that: Me: So... what did you do during your holidays? Classmate: Went skiing. Chat rooms

The first and most important thing you need to realize about the Internet is that you can find anything and anyone on the Internet that you can find in the real world. The only difference is that in the Internet you have a greater deal of anonymity that you get in the real world. Can chat rooms be dangerous? Most definitely. Particularly channels that clearly are catering to younger children. Pedophiles go where the kids are, and that is just as true on the Internet as in the "real world". Does that mean you should avoid all chat channels? Not at all. Just be aware of what you are doing and saying, and if you have small children, be sure to monitor their activity on the Internet. There are several programs, as I recall, that allow parents to track what their children are seeing and doing while on-line. One of the biggest threats on chat rooms is the presence of pedophiles, online

If you have read any book through, one is certain your life is not the same anymore as it was. So, a question comes to my mind if books are material things, they can not speak, they can not do anything to you, they just lay on the table, then how they can influence your life sometimes so much? They are all written by humans. But the interesting thing actually is, that in his lifetime, human being is the smartest on this planet and can make big things, but this is all transient. Humans die. But if human creates something, for example, a book, then it may live centuries. Books are like the continuation of the book writers life

Are men better directors than women ?

Name: Chlen Zhopov Subject: Essay Are men better directors than women ? It is common that top executives in big companies are mostly men. But does that necessarily mean that women are not suitable for such responsible, effort and leadership demanding jobs? I do not think so. First of all, I would like to say that this tradition is coming not only from history, but from evolution. In nature, masculine representatives of most species are stronger, more agile and aggressive than feminine representatives, because their biological function is to be the main breadwinners and defenders of their families, while females' main functions are to distribute that bread within the family, raise, feed and look after the progeny. Of course there are exceptions like lions (lionesses do hunting which ensures food for their families), seahorses (males bear the eggs) and some others, but in general law of nature is such

It is noticeable that student organizations are quite popular subject right now. Topical issue is that there may be different opinion about how beneficial student organizations for students really are. Student organizations usefulness could be disputable, beacause there are always postive and negative side to everything. One the one hand it appears that some students might support and think that student organizations are really advantageous for them and others do not support that idea. For example many stundents might complain about that sudent organizations are full of politics and assuming that they do not consider it necessary and beneficial to join any of them. Why are people ingnoring evironmental issues

Why are people ingnorig evironmental issues? People are always talking about environmental issues without actually doing anything about it.There are not many people who are devoted to saving the Earth. It seems like people just do not care, but that might be just a small part of the reason. The biggest reason for ignoring environmental issues might be that people tend to focus on immediate problems rather than on problems that are far away in the future and seem unrealistic. If there is no immediate danger or a problem to be fixed, than people just do not consider it to be important. And people do have immediate problems to be fixed, because life is getting busier each day. People have already so much to worry about, they do not have the time to make „Earth saving plans“. The perfect reason, or rather an excuse is that ordinary people do not have time to care about environmental issues.

In recent years, many traits once believed to be uniquely human, from morality to culture, have been found in the animal kingdom (see part one in this two-part series). So, what exactly makes us special? The list might be smaller than it once was, but there are some traits of ours that no other creature on Earth can match. On the negative side, relentless waves of tourists increase our carbon footprint. Transportation increases pollution and creates gridlocks. Often big hotels consume unreasonably large amount of water, while locals are left in dry. And after all, tourist are not the ones who suffer from the effects, locals are. Tourism has its positive and negative sides. It is important part of today's economy, as many countries live of it, but it also has darker side. I personally think that there is no need to make mistakes in order to develop themselves, but it is often an efficient way of finding out something new which can help people to make progress on whatever that is worked on. It is often the mistake that tell us what is wrong or what needs to be corrected. Through correcting any mistakes that are made and learning from those errors, deffinitely help to make progress. Homework that teachers give to students are a good example, like submitting something to your teacher and getting it back later with corrections. By carefully analyzing the mistakes made in the work, many important discoveries which might be ignored before would be noticed that can later help to progress in something. Education

Education: Some people say that students should study only those subjects they are interested in Im going to discuss if students should study only those subjects they are interested in or not. Nowadays students are quite lazy and do not want to study or go to school. They think it is boring and parents work really hard to make them study. Also, a lot of students think that the majority of the subjects they are learning are pointless. But actually none of those are pointless and every thing has a reason. In addition to that, if students could choose the subjects themselves, then some classes would be really empty. For example, a lot of students do not like maths or reading. Math develops logic and then we could imagine how many people would be without logical thinking. And reading books enriches vocabulary, so if people do not read books at all, their vocabulary would be quite small.

Rules are to be followed-disagree or agree?

Rules are to be followed-disagree or agree? To start with,Rules are to be followed, but another question is if all the people will do it.Rude behaviour and swearing are not tolerated in Britain unlike in Estonia. The people of Britain are more polite than Estonians. The manners, greetings and small talks have to be considerable if you want to leave a British person a good impression. When the question is small talk, big deal? Then in my opinion, there are certain rules, which kind of topics are allowed or not allowed. For the small talks you can`t talk about politics or money. Also bragging isn`t polite.Safe topics are for example asking about pets or about the life of some celebrates. For British, this kind of small talks are very important. One wrong word can ruine the whole impression of you. Bad manners are the biggest problems facing Britain.Spitting and swearing are the most popular ones, along with not saying please or thank you
