The invention of telephone

Early telephones were nothing like the ones we have today. Telephone is the Greek word for "far sound." Before the invention of telephone, people used fax, postal letters and birds to communicate. Alexander Graham Bell was an eminent scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who intented the first telephone. His mother and his wife were both deaf and that was the main reason which caused his interest to hearing devices. Bell invented the telephone by accident when he was trying to invent a device that could send more than one telegram at the same time. His research on hearing and speech further led him to experiment with hearing devices which eventually culminated with the telephone in 1876. The first telephone didn't have a bell, so the caller had to tap the phone with a hammer to let the receiver know a call was being sent to them. It was Thomas Watson who invented the bell. Ale...

Day in my life

I went to the door and postman was standing there. She was holding a package. Finally my package has been delivered. I greeted him and went looking for my ID card. I ran back to the postman. She was writing down my info while my little brother was trying to talk with me. He was yelling: ,,What is this?" I answered him: ,,It's a package, obviously." My brother started laughing and ran away. Postman asked for a signature and suddenly my phone started ringing. I gave her the signature and crabed the package. I ran downstairs but the caller hanged up already. I started calling back but the phone was busy. Suddenly I heard ringing again. I ran upstairs to pick up the phone but my sister was already speaking with the caller, so I went back downstairs. After my sister finished the call, she told me that the package was for my mother. ...

Letter of complaint

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to complain about the mobile phone which I bought from your store and about your customer service. I bought the phone on 15th September. I was told that the phone has guarantee for 6 months. It worked properly for three weeks. Then it suddenly stopped working, the screen went black and the buttons didn’t function. I immedately phoned your helpline and was told that this was completely my fault and i have to pay extra money for the repair. I think that it is unreasonable that I have to pay for the phone repair because guarantee is 6 months. I also think that in the future you should talk to your employees about their attitude. I would like to get my phone repaired for free. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, xy ...

Kitarrikursus algajatele 1osa-Ben Edwards

Well done, you've just completed the first part of this newsletter. Next you are about to learn about chords and by the end of this lesson you'll have learnt the A Major chord. Don't forget, for the ultimate guitar learning kit which includes step-by-step written lessons, video lessons, audio lessons and sophisticated software games, visit Jamorama.com Now you are ready to start your first lesson. Your aim in this lesson is to learn the A and D major chords and to introduce yourself to reading guitar tablature. This lesson is very important, so I want you to really focus. Remember! It is more beneficial for you to practice several times during a week than to practice for one long session. This is because your brain processes information in chunks at a time and it can only hold a certain amount in short term storage. For example, with phone numbers, it is very difficult to remember any more than 7 digits at a time. Yet if you give yourself time between practicing, even if it is just 10 minutes, you'll find that your brain is much more efficient at turning your short term practice into long term knowledge. More information on effective learning is contained in Jamorama at Jamorama.com. Ok. That aside, let's get started on the lesson. To start with, I want you to have a look at the guitar neck diagram below and make note of all the relevant pieces of information. Frets The guitar neck is divided into what we call frets, making a fret board. Most guitars have around 20 frets. In this first book, we will focus on the first four, also known as the first position. In book 2,...

Mõtteterad

Calm before the storm set it off, and the sun burnt out tonight. Is it worth the pain, with no one to blame ? but no hhe never called . In a perfect world, a broken heart is fixed . Well baby I don't need you, you're fading in my rearview. You'll never close my eyesYou'll never close my eyes and watch me die.

Wonders of the modern world

I am sure that today's world wonders are not the same that they were years ago. World has gone on and so the same way is with wonders. In my opinion, the most needed wonder is Internet. It has developed quite quickly. Most of young people can not live without it. Youth can communicate each other and they can also find some necessary information. There are also some elderly people who need the Internet. Usually they use it to do work, but older people also use it to communicate with other people like friends or colleague. Some elderly people may use the Internet even more than some youth. I guess that next wonder can be mobile phone . It is also very needed thing. People can call wherever they are. Mobile phone does not have any cables. There are very different phones and each people can choose mobile wh...

Fabio Capello

Despite immersing himself in management - he spent 15 years running the youth sides of Milan before being plucked from relative obscurity in 1991 to run the first team by the club's owner, Silvio Berlusconi - the Armani-clad coach has deliberately eschewed its social scene and has virtually no friends in football. He once explained: "I made it a rule early in my career. I like my job but not all the things that go on around it." The bespectacled manager did little to dull his image as an accomplished but largely detached technocrat by refusing to follow the example of his predecessors as coach at Juventus by giving his mobile phone number to Turin's sports writers. Instead, the urbane Capello spends his free time in more rarefied circles with a circle of friends recruited from the ranks of his passions for art, literature and travel. The Capello art collection, reputed to be one of the best in private hands in northern Italy, features works by Mark Chagall, the Expressionist Wassily Kandinsky and leading Italian artist Piero Pizzi Cannella, who is also a close friend. Capello also has a wanderlust for exotic and remote destinations. Among his recent visits are the pre-Colombian ruins in Mexico, Angkor Wat in Cambodia and hiking in Tibet. He has plans to travel more extensively in China and the Far East when he retires. Critics of Capello suggest that his high-mindedness is the flip- side of his unsentimental approach to his professional life. He spent five years as manager of Roma, steering the club to the Italian league title while engaged in frequent clashe...
