Give reasons why people might think so. The reasons to think so may be quite different. First, your best friend will still be your best friend, even from half a world away. Second, best friends are the kind of people who can survive anything. Third, when best friends see each other again, they pick up right where they left off. Present your position. Option 1 I completely agree (with those people.) To start with, I also believe that a good friendship always survives, no matter what. For example, I have a good friend whom I met 10 years ago in Germany, and we’ve been in touch ever since. Moreover, true friendship does not happen right away. It develops through many ups and downs. We all have seen in films or read in books, for example, where friends have fallen out, but eventually made up. Finally, it’s not how much friends spend time together, but what they do when they are together. Again, whenever I visit my friend in Germany, we always

Titanic - film review

In the film we see that a ship called ,,Titanic" sails out. The people are very happy to board the ship. They consider it as an unsinkable ship.In the first half of the movie Rose and Jack fall in love. They are trying to be together although it is not allowed because Rose is from the good family and Jack is just a poor boy. But in the other half of the movie, something different happens. The ship hits an iceberg and sinks. Jack dies, but Rose survives. I have never liked other movies so much. This movie is the best on my list. ,,Titanic" is a movie which is perfect in every aspect. I like it very much and I will watch this movie again with a big pleasure. In my opinion, ,,Titanic" is a film what goes to the heart. It captures the soul.I would certainly recommend it to anybody who likes films about true love and about terrible disaster.

The women of Scott's estate name him "The Blessed Wolf," and the story ends with White Fang relaxing in the sun with the puppies he had fathered with the sheep-dog Collie.

Great Pyramid of Giza The Great Pyramid of Giza (also called the Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Cheops) is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis and is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that survives mostly intact. Originally the Great Pyramid was covered by casing stones that formed a smooth outer surface, and what is seen today is the underlying core structure. Some of the casing stones that once covered the structure can still be seen around the base. There have been different scientific and alternative theories regarding the Great Pyramid's construction techniques. Most accepted construction

Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey and St Martin's Church in Kent Designated a World Heritage Site in 1988. Canterbury Cathedral was founded in AD597 (that's over 1,400 years ago!) and is the Mother Church of the Anglican Communion. It has a perpendicular nave, 12th-century Gothic choir, stunning stained glass windows that fill the church with colour and a Romanesque crypt. Another important church is the Church of St Martin just outside the city's medieval wall, half of which survives today. Probably built as a Roman church in the 4th century, St Martin is the oldest church in England that's still in use as a parish church. Another not to miss is St Augustine's Abbey. The ruins of this once great abbey are an impressive sight. Jurassic Coast Designated a World Heritage Site in 2001. The Dorset and East Devon Coast, also known as The Jurassic Coast was the first ever site to be inscribed as a 'natural' World Heritage Site. It spans 95 miles of dramatic coastline all the

Famous castles of Scotland

Today, Crookston Castle is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and a Category A listed building. Its maintenance is the responsibility of Historic Scotland.Crookston Castle sits atop a natural hill.To the north is a steep drop to the Levern Water. The castle has a rectangular main block, which was strengthened by a tower at each corner. This formed an irregular 'X-plan' shape, an unusual layout also seen at Hermitage Castle. Only the north-east corner tower survives to its former height, as well as the basement of the south-east tower. The two western towers were destroyed in the 15th century and never rebuilt, repairs in the 19th century have obscured even the remains of these. The main body of the castle measures about 19m by 12m, with walls up to 3.7m thick, and the north-east tower is around 6m square. The entrance is on the north side, adjacent to the north-east tower, and defended by a portcullis and two doors

The Hunger games

Two participants, one male and one female, known as tributes, between the ages of 12 and 18 are chosen randomly in a "reaping" from each district. Children may volunteer as a tribute instead of selection by ballot. They are taken to an arena and fight until only one is left alive. Katniss Everdeen is a 16-year-old girl from District 12 who volunteers for the 74th Hunger Games after her 12-year-old sister Primrose Everdeen is picked for reaping. She survives the games along with Peeta Mellark when they both defy the Capitol by threatening to commit suicide.  The Capitol is angry at their defiance, which inspires rebellion in several districts. Katniss and Peeta tour the districts, attempting to subdue the rebellion. Then, the reaping for the next Hunger Games takes place. For these games, part of the "Quarter Quell" that takes place every 25 years, winners of past games are forced to participate. When only

These invasions drove the Celts into what is now Wales and Scotland, and they remained, of course, in Ireland. The English, on the other hand, are the descendants of all the invaders, but are more Anglo-Saxon than anything else. These various origins explain many of the differences to be found between England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland differences in education, religion and the legal systems, but most obviously, in language. Language The Celts spoke Gaelic which survives today in the form of Welsh, Scottish Gaelic and Irish Gaelic. Less than a quarter of all Welsh people speak Welsh. Scottish Gaelic and Irish Gaelic are still spoken, although they have suffered more than Welsh from the spread of English. However, all three languages are now officially encouraged and taught in schools. Nowadays all Welsh, Scottish and Irish people speak English (even if they speak their own language as

Bridges presentation

Wooden bridges Wooden bridges are some of the most ancient. The first Roman bridge, the Pons Sublicius (c 621 BC), was a wood-pile structure over the Tiber in Rome, extending pedestrian access to the Aventine Hill. The earliest detailed description of a wooden bridge, a timber-pile structure over the Rhine constructed in 55 BC, was written by Julius Caesar in his De Bello Gallico. The best extant model of this type survives today over the Brenta at Bassano a Grappa, near Venice. It was built by Palladio in 1561, destroyed in 1945, and reconstructed identical to the original in 1948. By the mid-18th century, carpenters working in the forested regions of the world further developed the timber truss bridge. The most famous were two Swiss brothers, Johannes and Ulrich Grubenmann, who built bridges at Schaffhausen, Reichenau, and Wettingen that combined diagonal

E.M.Remarque "Läänerindel Muutuseta"

" Paul's experience is intended to represent the experience of a whole generation of men, the so-called lost generation--men who went straight from childhood to fighting in World War I, often as adolescents. Paul frequently considers the past and the future from the perspective of his entire generation, noting that, when the war ends, he and his friends will not know what to do, as they have learned to be adults only while fighting the war. The longer that Paul survives the war and the more that he hates it, the less certain he is that life will be better for him after it ends. This anxiety arises from his belief that the war will have ruined his generation, will have so eviscerated his and his friends' minds that they will always be "bewildered." Against such depressing expectations, Paul is relieved by his death: "his face had an expression of calm, as though almost glad the end had come." The war becomes not merely a traumatic

An even longer rotation period is preferable, since some sunflower diseases can stay in the soil for several years (up to 10 years for Verticillium spp.). The shorter the rotation, the more important it becomes to select disease-resistant or tolerant varieties. If a field is already in row crop production, it is probably suitable for sunflower. The only situations likely to severely limit sunflower are poorly drained soils or soils that would prevent taproots from penetrating. Sunflower survives droughts through its extensive tap root; the above-ground portion of the plant does not use water very efficiently. Sunflower can tolerate pH values from 5.7 to 8.0. Choosing a variety Sunflower varieties have steadily improved over time. Numerous options are now available, including dwarf types and specialty oil (high oleic) types. Hybrids are the most common and normally have higher yields and higher oil percentage. Most modern
