pupils. And now all these years later I am a young teacher and it is still important for me what is going on within my society in education. I believe I have some kind of advance of knowing what is really going on in Estonian schools and how the education policy really works. Because not long ago I finished the high school, before that changing a lot of different schools and I think I can say that I superficially know how different schools are working in various regions of Estonia. Being a student at the faculty of education has opened my eyes for a lot of different things, perspectives and helped a lot to understand deeper, why things are like they are. We even had a subject specifically about Education policy on Estonia, Estonian learning strategy for 2020- 2035, where we had to work all that document through. That’s why almost all of my thoughts and argumentation is based on the strategy of Estonian Ministry of Education and Research.
What are the most needed professions in the 21st century? People are often asking me what are the most needed professions in the 21st century. I've understood that in Estonia we need mostly newer professions, the ones that are connected with computers. In my opinion one of the most needed professions is a doctor. I know we have a lot of doctors, but a lot of them go to a foreign country. Mostly because of the low salary in Estonia. In my opinion the second most needed profession is a really good goverment employee. Estonians want some changes in their lives. Our goverment employees only think about earning more money. The third most needed professions is actually needed the most, it's connected with computers, as I first mentioned. More growing computer using and replacing jobs with robots and computer programmes leave some people without jobs. That's why people need to know more and more about computers. I recall my love of art in the 3rd grade, of science in 8th grade, of comparative literature in 11th grade. Probably each student learns at an individual pace, and has personal likes and dislikes, yet overall some fair generalizations can be made about what approach usually works best for most children at various ages. Education for adults is so much different. Almost all of my teaching has been directed to adults. I've dealt with preschoolers, elementary and junior high school kids exclusively in my role as a plant expert showing them the joy and wonder of wild plants. Until I do more teaching children, I can't say I've developed any insights or made any guidelines, except I know all students respond to enthusiasm and like to become fascinated.
Most needed professions in Estonia in 21st century All people in society have a role. All adults should have jobs. Some professions are more needed in society than others. In Estonia we need mostly newer professions, connected with computers. I think doctor is a most needed profession. We have so many illnesses and nobody knows what it is. We need people, who help us to cope with them. In Estonia doctors earn not much money, that's why a lot of them go to foreign country to work and to earn their living.
