aastanumbrit. Õigekirjaviga sõnas realy. Letter 1 Dear pen-friend 6. June, 2002 Thank you for your letter! I will try to answer your questions now. I do like films, but I think I am not such a fan like you are. I do not visit the cinema often, because I do not like these commercial films, they show there. I do not watch the TV much either, because I do not have time for that. To tell you the truth, I do not have my favourite film. I like best some `freak films' which are maybe a little weard and most people probably would not like these. I am a little odd myself, so ... . Actually I like some documetary films too. They are realistic and sometimes sad and even depressing, but they show the life the way it is. Actually, for the summer I have no film plans, I will go to one theatre-festival though, but I think that I will have a rest from films and the TV, spend the summer in the country and in the nature.

Jane Austen

Chapter 21 Chapter 42 Chapter 1 It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters. "My dear Mr. Bennet," said his lady to him one day, "have you heard that Netherfield Park is let at last?" Mr. Bennet replied that he had not. "But it is," returned she; "for Mrs. Long has just been here, and she told me all about it." Mr. Bennet made no answer. "Do you not want to know who has taken it?" cried his wife impatiently. "You want to tell me, and I have no objection to hearing it." This was invitation enough. "Why, my dear, you must know, Mrs

Sir Thom treated us tea and sandwiches, not forgetting to show us way back to the village. He was so kind, don't you think? In the end, when we had nearly reached our home, he suddenly stopped and called us to a ball! Can you imagine?! A ball with Sir Thom! What an honour... I bet Emily Woodcut will be envious. What about you, Mary? Have you made plans for the summer? I'd really like to introduce you to him after all, you are the governor's daughter. Then his opinion of me will raise even higher, right? Estonian holidays, festivals, cultural events

Holidays, Festivals, Cultural events TALLINN - If you're looking for entertainment in Estonia this summer, you are really spoiled for choice. Festivals and events dedicated to the consumption of beer are a lot of fun, but if you want to get the true feel of the country, you need something a little more ethnic. Like a town fair. Just as July becomes August, the seaside town of Haapsalu will host a grand spectacle of rural Estonian entertainment. The White Lady Days is a summer celebration filled with amusement for all the family. Held in and around the remains of the Teutonic-knights-era castles, the fair combines enchanting medieval legends with modern countryside charm to create a comprehensive experience of Estonia beyond the big cities. But the legend of the White Lady of Haapsalu, which is at the heart of the festival, is perhaps the most famous tall tale of the many that are so abundant in Estonia's folklore.

As a result of the deep inner crisis within the Soviet Empire it became possible to re-establish the Estonian Republic in August 1991. A month later Estonia joined the United Nations. In 1997 the population reached 1.462 million; from this Estonians total 65% (950,124) and other nationalities 35%. The capital Tallinn, mentioned for the first time in 1154, has a population of 434,800 (1995). Other important towns are Tartu, Kohtla-Järve, Narva and Pärnu. Estonia is a developed industrial and agricultural country. Libraries

we today call book printing. The first book was printed between 1444 and 1446, so these years can be considered as the beginning years of book printing. His most important preserved printings are the 40 copies of the Bible. By the end of the 15 th century there were about 1000 print-shops in Europe already. The oldest Estonian book dates back to 1535. Libraries form a vital part of education. They make available-through books, films, recordings and other media- knowledge that has been accumulated through the ages. People in all walks of life use libraries to get information for their work. Libraries also play an important role in preserving people's cultural heritage. For example, some libraries have rare books, authors' and composers' manuscripts or works by artists. Today's libraries differ very much from the ones from the past - not only in the contents and services, but also in physical layout and atmosphere. Library derives

getting hard. I don't like math, never have. What are the biggest pressures for teens in you city? Võru doesn't have pressure for teens because it is a small and a peaceful city, at least I can't feel any. Is there a difference in Estonia between the north and the south? No, there isn't a big difference, but when I went there and talked to some of my friends living in Tallinn, then I noticed that they don't recognize some of the words we use every day in Võru. Have you visited any other countries? Yes, I have visited many different countries. When I was little, our family traveled a lot. We lived in the USA for one year but unfortunately, I can't remember too much. We visited America another time too, when I was in the second grade. That was very cool and we visited many places. I have also been to Paris, with my choir. We went the Eiffel tower too. A few years ago, our friends who live in Norway, invited us to visit them. We agreed and went there

Time travel

On the first sight it all looked wonderful, the grass was greener and the air was more easier to breathe of course I was evolved into the famous Central Park. I didn't know where to go or what to do, so I whistled, like they do in the movies, and took a cab. I asked the driver just to drive me around the city and show me what's good around there. As we where driving through the Broadway street, I discovered from the posters hanging on the wall that my all time favourite soul artist Marvin Gaye was in the town. Luckily I had some money in my pocket to pay for the taxi ride, and even for the ticket to the concert. People on the street were very friendly and I smoothly melted into the crowd. I quickly got friends with some of the local street musicians. One of them was Denzel and he told me a story about how Marvin Gaye has inspired him and his music. When I told them that I'm a fan of his music too and I'm planning to go to his

Age 16 is a school leaving age. They can leave home, drive a moped, marry with "parents' consent" buy beer. Age 17 can drive a car. Age 18 can vote, get married, drink in pubs. Education is a very important part in the life of British youth. One can't become an independent person without it. When time comes to enter a college a young Englishman chooses one far away from home. It is a necessary part of becoming adult. During the last 30 years there were a lot of different trends in youth movements. All of them were characterized by their own philosophy, way of life, style of dressing. Each tendency was born by the influence of economic and political changes in the society. Those trends are known as the "hippies" the "punks" the "rockers". But certainly there are different traditional youth organizations in Great Britain. Among them -- the Scout Association, the Girl Guides Association, the National Union of Students, the Youth Club

Is It a Crime to Download Music Free of Charge?

should not do it but the question is, should we be able to do it legally. To begin with, music is a big part of our lives. If children were not given the ability to cheer them up with music, the depression levels would definitely be higher, as well as less motivation in children. For an example, the average American child listens to 4 hours of music in a day. I personally listen to at least 5 hours of music a day and all that from the computer when I get home. Secondly, the artists would not have such big crowds at their shows and concerts. This way, the artists are getting more recognition and popularity. They are even getting more feedback, which songs people like more. Thirdly, downloading can lead to more purchases of CDs and such. Children especially, who have a favourite band or artist, want to support them or show other friends that they have a material piece from the band. More or less, they are supporting the artists by purchasing their merch.

Dear Kate, I think that travelling is the best way to broaden you mind and to explore the world. I haven't travelled a lot recently. The last place I visited was Finland, which was in August 2008. Most of the trips I've taken were when I was too young to remember them. For instance I went to a European trip with my family when I was four years old. We visited such countries as Sweden, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Austria, Lithuania, Latvia and some more countries. I would really love to visit USA, England and Japan. Something is just magical about those places. I know that when you live somewhere, you don't really see what's special about it. I bet you know a lot more about London than I do but you probably don't find it as special and beautiful as I do. I love to observe the architecture and the people who live in the country I visit.. I was very lively and cheerful, enjoyed cricket, horse riding and just hated cleanliness and restriction. As I grew up, I chose reading over sports and all of the wild games I used to like. Undoubtedly, I would now describe myself with the word naivety. I am very naïve and do not notice the most obvious things happening around me. I really hope that it is caused by the lack of experience and will eventually pass. In addition, I find myself a kind and caring person because I always want and agree to help people when needed. Furthermore, I really like reading. Sometimes I think that I read too much because I often mix fiction up with reality and in some cases it does not do me any good. As novels have such a great influence on me, I often misunderstand people in reality. Also, I quite often jump into conclusions

I have been raised by my mother. As I grew older, I got more and more interested in different things. At one point it occured to me that when I want to be successful in some field, then I really have to educate myself in that filed. When my friends have characterised me then they have mainly mentioned that I am an active person, who has been successful in different fields. I still do not think I am succesful because it is a really complicated definition, but I know that I have succeeded in doing several things. For me the key is my so called success has been that when dealing with a particular thing I have tried to delve into the subject as deep as possible.

MADAME PERNELLE You hold your tongue, and think what you are saying. He's not alone in censuring these visits; The turmoil that attends your sort of people, Their carriages forever at the door, And all their noisy footmen, flocked together, Annoy the neighbourhood, and raise a scandal. I'd gladly think there's nothing really wrong; But it makes talk; and that's not as it should be. CLEANTE Eh! madam, can you hope to keep folk's tongues From wagging? It would be a grievous thing If, for the fear of idle talk about us, We had to sacrifice our friends. No, no; Even if we could bring ourselves to do it, Think you that everyone would then be silenced? 1. FIRST SIGHT My mother drove me to the airport with the windows rolled down. It was seventy-five degrees in Phoenix, the sky a perfect, cloudless blue. I was wearing my favorite shirt -- sleeveless, white eyelet lace; I was wearing it as a farewell gesture. My carry-on item was a parka. In the Olympic Peninsula of northwest Washington State, a small town named Forks exists under a near-constant cover of clouds. It rains on this inconsequential town more than any other place in the United States of America. It was from this town and its gloomy, omnipresent shade that my mother escaped with me when I was only a few months old. It was in this town that I'd been compelled to spend a month every summer until I was fourteen. That was the year I finally put my foot down; these past three summers, my dad, Charlie, vacationed with me in California for two weeks instead. It was to Forks that I now exiled myself-- an action that I took with great horror. I detested
