HISTORY The history of rail transport in Estonia starts in 1870 when a line was opened connecting Paldiski, Tallinn, Tapa and Narva; the line extending all the way to St. Petersburg in Russia. The first railway line to be built in Estonia was the Paldiski Tallinn Narva Gatchina line constructed in 1870; Baltic German nobility provided the impetus for the construction of the line, though because of the Russian influence the line was built to 1524mm gauge to connect with the line from St. Petersburg to Warsaw . The construction project was controlled by the Russian Ministry of Roads. The port of Paldiski was chosen because its southerly position made it ice free all the year round. Soon after both Paldiski and Tallinn experienced an upswing in trade, notably exports of grain. In 1877 another line was
Estonian national flag on Toompea and since that time the Independence Day has been celebrated as a public holiday again. This year Estonia will celebrate the 83rd anniversary of the declaration of the state independence. A Quest for Independence For centuries, the Estonian people dreamed of establishing a state free of foreign domination. The 1917 revolution and the generally unstable situation in Russia created the opportunity for Estonia to gain its independence. The impetus for independence was provided by the National Front, Estonia's main ideological movement, which based its ideas on US President Woodrow Wilson's principle of self-determination. On April 8, 1917, Estonian organisations and military personnel totalling 40 000 held a demonstration in Petrograd (St. Petersburg) in support of self-government of Estonia. The organised, peaceful demonstration achieved its goal when, on April 12, the Russian Provisional
dynasties, yet both of these institutions proved strong enough to survive and assimilate the invaders. The coming of Cambro-Norman mercenaries under Richard de Clare, 2nd Earl of Pembroke, nicknamed Strongbow, in 1169 marked the beginning of more than 700 years of direct Norman and, later, English involvement in Ireland. The English crown did not begin asserting full control of the island until after the English Reformation, when questions over the loyalty of Irish vassals provided the initial impetus for a series of military campaigns between 1534 and 1691. This period was also marked by an English policy of plantation which led to the arrival of thousands of English and Scottish Protestant settlers. As the military and political defeat of Gaelic Ireland became more clear in the early seventeenth century, the role of religion as a new division in Ireland became more pronounced. From this period on, sectarian conflict became a recurrent theme in Irish history.
Seega oli tema sõnul keskkond vahepealne liikumapanija. Sellega leiti aga probleeme juba hellenismiajastul, kus Johannes Philopon (6. saj pKr) leidis, et viskaja kehale annab mingi mittemateriaalse liikumapaneva jõu, impetuse (ladine keelest hoog, hoogsus). Sellest arenes välja impetusefüüsika, mis kokkuvõttes oli siiski vastuolus klassikalise füüsikaga (impetusetooria järgi tuleb välja, et kui õnnestuks kõrvaldada liikumise taktistused, siis tähendaks muutumatu impetus liikumist lõpmata suue kiirusega, mitte aga muutumatu lõpliku kiirusega nagu klassikalise mehaanika järgi). held by the European Parliament in the adoption of legislation have made this institution very powerful as the Union’s legislature. Although other bodies have rights of proposition and consultation, these cannot ultimately overrule the Parliament if it decides not to adopt a certain law. [5] Consequently, as the Parliament wields this legislative power and is a directly elected body, the legislation process can be described as democratic. However, the Commission’s role in providing the impetus for law-making may be criticised as unrepresentative of the people as the members of this body are unelected. In the EU's unique institutional set-up: the EU's broad priorities are set by the European Council, which brings together national and EU-level leaders directly elected MEPs represent European citizens in the European Parliament the interests of the EU as a whole are promoted by the European Commission, whose members are appointed by national governments

rivalry or parents, of course; the thought was that everyone would do the dishes without grumbling. "It's hard to feel supported in a place like New York City, especially without a partner, or consistent person or group that you are able to connect with daily," said Ms. Berger, a musician and piano teacher who has been renting a room from another young woman in an apartment in Park Slope. "And I'd rather have a lot of people to share my day with." The impetus for the group home or collective they hope to form is less about finances -- though it is true that pooling resources yields better real estate -- and more about community building. Indeed, Ms. Berger and others seem to share the ideals of the old- fashioned communes of yore, except that their groups are tiny, urban-centric and linked to outside interests like fixing bikes or, here in New York City, membership in the Park Slope food co-op

Large numbers of ern coasts of Finland during the Middle Ages and Swedish is still an important language in the country. Much of Finnish literature before the mid-nineteenth century was written in Swedis. However with the rise of Finnish nationalismfrom about the 1840s, great impetus was given to the Finnish literary movement. Many distinguished works have been written in Finnish, including those by the contemporary authors Sillanpaa, Waltari and Jotuni. Some authors prefer tom write in Swedish, thereby reaching a larger public. The Finns have also been strongly influenced by German music. Since the late nineteenth century, however, conscious attempts to produce an indigenous Finnish music have been
Europe. Transcendentalism, though based on doctrines of ancient and modern European philosophers (particularly Kant) and sponsored in America chiefly by Emerson after he had absorbed it from Carlyle, Coleridge, Goethe, and others, took on especial significance in the USA, where it so largely dominated the New England authors as to become a literary movement as well as philosophic conception. The movement gained its impetus in America in part from meetings of a small group which came together to discuss the "new thought" of the time. While holding different opinions about many things, the group seemed in general harmony in their conviction that within the nature of man there was a something which transcended human experience an intuitive and personal revelation. Variously called the Symposium Club and the Hedge Club, the group was soon known as the Transcendental Club because of the ideas advanced by its

The President of the European Parliament (Parliament's speaker) is Martin Schulz. The European Parliament has three places of work – Brussels (Belgium), Luxembourg and Strasbourg (France). The European Council The role of the European Council is to provide the European Union with the necessary impetus for its development and to define the general political guidelines. The European Council is the group of heads of state or government of the EU member states, along with the council's own President and the President of the European Commission. The European Council was established as an informal body in 1975(1961); it became an official EU institution in 2009 when the Treaty of Lisbon entered into force. The European Council has no formal legislative power. It is charged under the Treaty of

S. Constitution today. Since the colonies had very few individual rights, they declared certain fundamental rights that they deemed "inalienable." Democracy: The colonies had no say in the formation of the government, and had no representation in the lawmaking process. Consequently, they were attracted to the idea of democracy, where the government is "of the people, by the people, for the people," as Lincoln later expressed in his Gettysburg Address. Religious Tolerance: Much impetus for the ideas of religious tolerance came from the rule of King George II, who was a staunch Catholic and did not allow freedom of religion to Protestants in New England. Voltaire was among the first to denounce Christianity and other organized religions as mere ploys to support monarchy. What emerged was Deism, which was more or less a new religion that considered reason its foundation. In Deism, there is no interference by a deity, and man controls his own destiny.
was the initial legally binding law that for the first time, granted children the recognition as worthy individuals with rights of their own. 3 The UNCRC has been considered as one of the most innovative international treaties ever ratified. It laid the foundation for the potential change of attitude and perception of children as primarily objects of the adult world. The recognition of children by the UNCRC as respected individuals with rights of their own has given impetus to a significant field of academic study. Since then, there has been increasing sociological interest in children which has provided a new perspective around the idea of children as social actors, and that childhood is not a natural phenomenon but a social 4 construct. It is now recognised that childhood is a culturally constructed phenomenon arising from human interaction.5 However, the new knowledge of children as competent

together around the table in his office, they inspected the incomprehensible lines of letters and numbers with only the feeblest general idea on how to begin. None of the small band of pioneers had had any real previous knowledge of cryptanalysis, and they made only antlike progress in those first weeks. But Ewing was exhilarated by the job, and it was not until October 25 that he took a Sunday off. By then, England had had a stroke of fortune that gave such an impetus to its cryptanalytic work that it remained far ahead of its enemies through the rest of the war. What happened has best been told in his own style by the minister who then headed the Admiralty, the First Lord, Winston Churchill: At the beginning of September, 1914, the German light cruiser Magdeburg was wrecked in the Baltic. Prince Carlos, son of Philip II. This may sound operatic without the staging, but Kapp had a remarkable penchant for psychological characterisation. In comparison with Julius Caesar we hear more thematic material and as a result the form is more extensive. Generally in the first orchestral compositions by Rudolf Tobias, Aleksander Läte and Artur Kapp we can discern notable national-romantic tendencies. To be precise it was the classical-romantic background that gave impetus to their development. This was nothing extraordinary because influences from German and Russian music were still perceptible. In subject matter and creative approach we can draw parallels with painting and sculpture where the precepts of academic art prevailed before the turn of the century: the artists had a similar educational background and many had studied in St. Petersburg.
